HP ENVY 5530: Scan to email problem

I have a problem of "scan to e-mail"

Many worked yesterday, now it says "there was a problem connecting to the server.

He sent me the code 'connect' e-mail - so a communication that happens...

He repeats to me it is a problem of HP Server and forums keep instructing me to stop the 5530 WANT and reset the wireless hub - I did this 13 times already and he won't do something else that wasting time!

I am able to print via Google Chrome Cloud Print, is not MY network problem, my printer connects every time my router wireless EA, no problem.

For example, HP has a mail server problem, solutions?

Printer model: HP ENVY 5530

Hey @lgstorbay,

Welcome to the Forum from HP Support.  I hope you enjoy your experience here.

I understand that you are unable to scan to email using your HP ENVY 5530 e-all-in-one printer.  I would like to work with you on this. I have some suggestions that could restore this functionality for you.

When users encounter this type of problem in general, I suggest from scratch with wireless printer, webservices and scan to e-mail setup.  You can clear all of these parameters in a swoop by the factory default restore * your printer.

Here's how:

* Note that this step resets the setting up your printer wireless, address ePrint and other custom print settings. If you have created a custom address @hpeprint.com it is permanently erased. For more information about custom addresses ePrint, click here. In addition, you need to add your printer via Google Cloud Print, if you have completed this step. Click here for instructions.

  • Front panel of the printer, arrow down and select Tools
  • Select restore default

Then touch the wireless icon, run the Wireless Setup Wizard to restore your network connection, and then tap the Webservices () and reactivate your webservices.

If you are able to successfully reactivate your webservices, tap on the icon of your printer wireless () and make a note of the IP address of the printer.  Then, follow these steps to configure a manual DNS:

  • Enter the printer's IP address in a web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Internet Explorer) and press ENTER to go directly to this page.
  • Click the network tab.
  • In the submenu on the left, click Networking.
  • Then click on the network (IP) address.
  • Click Manual DNS server.
  • DNS preferred as 8.8.8.8 manual entry
  • Auxiliary DNS server entry as 8.8.4.4
  • Click on apply to finalize this change.

Then, tap the scan icon and enter the e-mail address you want to scan to.  Then, recover the PIN than you should automatically receive and complete your scan to contact the installer.  Ideally, if you are able to get this good service will be fully functional.

Please let me know the result of your troubleshooting by responding to this post.  If I helped you to solve the problem, feel free to say "You rock!" by clicking the "Thumbs Up" icon below and by clicking to accept this solution.

Thanks for posting in the Forum from HP Support.  Have a great day!

    Hello

My suggestion: install softare and the driver on your computer using the fillowing:

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/softlib/software12/COL47810/MP-115828-6/EN5530_198.exe

    After that,.

    (a) ion on desktop, double-click

    (b) select manage the Scan of the computer
    (c) click on Enable.

You can start automatically with Windows, BUT you will get an arror message if you turn on the computer FRONT of the printer.

Now you can scan computer or ptrinter.

(Note: I have tested and used the same printer for over a year and no problems what so ever).

  • HP Envy 5530 scans more wireless network home but does not print

    Love my 5530 desire!

Through our wireless network, it will scan at anything, but it only prints my smartphone and iMac. It will not print laptop Packard Bell with Windows 8 (although it will scan to it).

Tried to re-install the drivers on the computer laptop etc etc, but, although printer printed initially - it has stopped after a month or two. Are there problems of network with Windows 8?

    Any ideas?

    Hello
Try following the steps below and check if this can help:
-Open the HP software by clicking on the HP Envy 5530 icon in the desktop or the Start Menu, and then click on the link to the Home Page of the printer (EWS).
    -Click on the network tab.
-According to the model of your printer, click Network, click Network (IP) address or click IPv4 in the active network connection type.
-Manuel IP-click and then click on suggest a manual IP address. An IP address manually, the subnet mask and default gateway shows.
    * Be sure to take note of the IP address and confirm the changes, and then close the EWS page.
-Click the icon of 5530 desire within the desktop or the Start Menu and click the utilities tab, and then click Update IP address.
-Type the IP address that is configured manually, click on save and confirm.
-Open the control panel and go to devices and printers.
-Right click on the HP Envy 5530 icon and select printer properties.
    -Open the Ports tab.
-Click on the button Add Port, select Standard TCP/IP and click New Port.
-Follow the procedure by typing the IP address that is configured manually and confirm the changes.

Now try printing and check if the problem solved.

  • HP Photosmart 5524: scan to email problems

I can not scan to e-mail (or access apps) of the printer itself. "Blue light" wifi is on, and I was able to print by sending documents by e-mail to the printer. Thus, the internet is certainly connected.

I've used the scan to email successfully, but since I changed my internet provider I can't any longer.

I'm working on a Mac OS (10.5.8) which is not supported by this printer (annoying that the Mac is not very old!)

    Any help much appreciated.

    Hello-

Is there a way to solve this problem by removing the web services, reactivating it. This would however, you must obtain a new email address.

You can also try to remove the app (scan to e-mail), and then reinstall it.

Let me know if it works.

  • Photosmart 7520: Photosmart 7520 Scan to Email problem

    Hello

I have the same problem as almost all the other posts in this forum. I can perform all functions with my Photosmart HP 7520, print from my Mobile / Tablet / PC, Wi - Fi all the Apps front panel, connect to the printer via IP fixed, applications via ePrintCenter etc... Until recently, I could also do a "Scan to Email" but which has suddenly stopped working to fail "unable to connect to Web Services.  Confirm access to the Internet and try again. "I tried all the previous suggestions including cycling the power on my router then the printer, all with no success. As mentioned the only funtion not working is "Scan to Email". I understand there is a 'special reset process' that is sent by electronic mail private users with this specific problem. Could you please make this available.

    Thanks in advance...

    Hi Shoe59,

I finally got the work of Scan-to-Email service.

I ended up removing the "Web Services" - via the printer-> Web Services-> settings Menu-> remove Web Services. Immediately after I went through the same steps of menu and "enabled web services" again (I think that something has been downloaded to the printer) and a page is printed with an activation code where you need to connect to your account connection HP and basically setup your account to e-mail printer as again from scratch. that is, you get sent to you 4-digit Code, enter this in the menu of the printer to continue setting up your account. I have set up several Scan-to-email accounts and tested them all and they work now just like before. The only witch hunt, I couldn't use the same EMail address of the printer as the connection HP site said that my old Email address was already in use.

I am convinced that there is a change in the backend (cloud side) which requires you to remove & reinstall web services to make it work again. Anyway give it a try if you haven't already and hope this works for you as well.

    Hello RedRoscoe,

I would like to see if I can help with the Officejet Pro 8600 Plus scan to E-mail and Web Services questions. I think that the issues can be addresses by two steps, I hope.

About scanning to E-mail, you can be blocked by the two-step verification. What is the email client that you want to activate the printer for, MSN, Gmail, etc.?

Issues of Web Services, try to apply a manual DNS 209.244.0.3 & 209.244.0.4 to the printer's manual I.P address.

  • 5530 envy: Envy 5530 scan since the upgrade from Mac OS Sierra

Since the update of my Mac to OS Sierra 10.12, I can't scan to computer or run a scan of my computer.  I get an error message "Scanner reported an error" saying that my all-in-one is not available.  I tried to reinstall the driver, which is not very recent (up to HP?) and no help. I have tried everything I can think on my end.

    Hello
The HP scanning application is not compatible with Sierra, so you may experience problems.
Remove the HP scanning by moving it to the trash, then empty the trash.

Instead install HP Easy Scan below, it will be installed in the Applications folder:
    http://FTP.HP.com/pub/softlib/software12/HP_Quick_Start/OSX/installations/Essentials/HP-easy-scan-1_7_0.pkg

If you experience additional problems, ensure that the latest version of the software is installed by following HP Easy Start below:
    http://FTP.HP.com/pub/softlib/software12/HP_Quick_Start/OSX/applications/HP_Easy_Start.app.zip

Finally, make sure that your drivers are up-to-date by clicking the Apple icon, select about this Mac and then press on software update.
Click on the Bank on the menu bar, click Reload Page, click all update if an update is available.

  • HP Envy 5660: Scan to email

When you configure my scan to e-mail, I accidentally put in the recipient's email on the first step instead of my own. When he asked the pin of the e-mail sent to this address, I realized Id he done wrong. Is there a way to delete this email from my printer? Thank you.

    Hi @ sullenallen,

Welcome to the forums of HP,

I understand that you want to change the email address for the scan to e-mail on your desire 5660.

I want to help you with this.

The simplest thing to do would be to start over. This would involve the removal of web services.

There is a downside. If you have customized the HP ePrint address on your printer you will never lose.

If it has not been customized, or if you lose it then do the following:

    1. Tap the web services on the front panel of your desire. It is in the lower left corner of the screen.
    2. Tap the gear icon bit to enter settings.
    3. Scroll down and press remove web services.
    4. It will ask that you are of course, say Yes.
    5. you will then return to the main menu.
    6. Press the icon for web services.
    7. agree to the terms and say Yes for automatic updates.
    8. web services information page will display again.
    9. Configure the scan to e-mail with your e-mail address
    10. Send a test for you (just to make sure that his work)

It's the easy way to fix it. If you have an address custom ePrint you do not loose, I'd call our Department of Cloud Services.

Please contact our Cloud Services at 855-785-2777.  If you do not live in the United States / Canada region, please click the link below to get help from your region number.  http://WWW8.HP.com/us/en/contact-HP/WW-phone-assist.html

I hope this helps. Let me know how things work.

  • HP envy 5530: printer Cup emails in width and loses 1/3 of the words on the right side

When printing emails, 1/3 of the words from the inside of the right margin are cut and do not print.

    animal-lovers

Welcome to the Community Forum of HP.

Emails are tricky - and not all email clients are the same, neither are the browsers where you can print the email.  Almost anything could break the margins on the right side.

Please take a look at the following and see if anything here helps - and you can also try opening your emails using another browser, too.  Yes, I know - eew.  But it might help to see what is happening.  In addition, it could give you an idea, if the problem is universal, i.e. emails look bad / feel bad no matter what you use.

You might be able to use 'Fit to page' in print preview mode, or you might be able to control the margins by adjusting the actual "margins" - also in mode print preview.

If all else fails, you may view the email and take a 'Snip' from the email, save it and then print the image you saved.  Ick.  But it could be something that you could use as a last resort.

Manage the print with preview output before printing

Move the HP Scan application to the trash and install the HP Easy Scan instead:

  • HP Envy 5530 impossible to scan

I have a HP Envy 5530.  It is connected to my laptop wireless. At first, I tried to use the programs installed on my laptop Lenovo scan... scanner not connected. Then, I downloaded the application for the 5530 scanner part.

At this point, the scanner is recognized. When you try a scan... It starts and then has a status of "General failure."

Then, I connected the printer to the computer with a cable... same result.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi @alyle1028

I wonder if this general failure refers to the hardware itself. You can make a copy?

If you can copy, run the printing and scanning doctor. Printing HP and doctor Scan is a free utility (tool) that allows to quickly solve common printing, scanning and connectivity problems, including but not limited to:

    • Device conflicts: check the conflicts with other drivers, such as the other brands of printers.

    • Ink issues: check the cartridges and the ink levels for issues that affect the print quality.

    • Scan tests: check the scanning mechanism, drivers, and registry entries.

Source:try the HP Print and Scan Doctor for Windows

Click here to download and run the print and Scan Doctor > www.hp.com/go/tools

If this does not resolve the problem, after back and let me know if there are all the symbols except the Green checkmarks and what they are next of course. The key is not always easy to identify the key and check mart are in the green circle.

    • If you see only the Green checkmarks (), the tool did not find any problem.

    • If you see green sides (), the utility identified a problem and fix it automatically.

    • If you see yellow exclamation points (), the test failed and requires monitoring of the user, but the step was ignored.

    • If you see a red X (), follow the onscreen instructions to fix the problem.

I can't wait to hear back on your part.

  • HP Envy 5530: Question of scanning

Hi there when I try to scan the overview screen appears correct, but when the scan sends to the computer, I'm not receving the whole scan and all I get is the header of the page and its very big I get 3 images with three different headers.

Ive scanned my passport and he sent that fine and correct.

IM now at a loss on how to continue

    Hello @Felicite,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I understand that, in the scanning of your e-all-in-one printer of HP ENVY 5530 to your computer Windows 8 you are not able to get the scanning full page appears correctly on your computer. I would like to help you to solve this problem today. The HP scanning software is probably set to an option of cropping so rather than scan the entire document into your computer, the software is cropping some sections. To ensure that all HP scanning settings are configured correctly for the scans of success please can I you follow the steps below.

    1. on the desktop of your computer, please click on the HP Envy printer Assistant icon

    2. When The HP Printer Wizard opens, click scan a Document or Photo

    3. in the HP scanning software click Photo to the file or Document to the file and check the setting of the Scan size above left. Try this setting on any scanning area.

    4. prior to Scan, click on Advanced settings down right. In the window parameters advanced search to optimize the quality of the Image at the top. If this box is checked, please uncheck it. If it is not checked, please check. To the substantive aspect for car culture. If this box is checked, please uncheck. If it is currently disabled, please check. Click OK at the bottom. Click analysis.

Scan from the front panel of your printer will mimic just the settings under the HP software on your computer. Once you set the settings in the HP scanning software they should take effect when you scan from the front panel of your printer.

Please let me know if these steps don't resolve your problem. Good luck!
