HP Envy 7640 (E4W47A): do not hold paper photo 13x18mm on set.

Hi, looks like I can't hold paper 13x18cm on the picture of the printer paper tray. I push the button to expand the gray tray but does not book! Lack of space at least 5mm to fit the book! And papper 13x18cm photo should be accompanied by this ferry, it has a small sticker that say cleary 13 x 18 is supported. Maybe I can extend over the plateau with a hidden button? And Yes, the papper is not defective, I measure the papper and the tray with a caliber of precision.

Hi @edward81,

If you remove all the paper in the main tray and insert the 5 x 7 paper just, you should be able to print at that size.

Thank you!

  • HP Envy 7640 all-in-one: cannot print photos using HP Envy 7640 of the photo tray

Photo will not print from the photo tray. When I try to print the photo tray is not recognized. I asked about this problem before and I had the printing of photos with Windows Photo Viewer and that worked for me after that I changed the settings as shown. But now it will work for a few photos and then stop working and go back to not recognize the photo tray. I have all the right settings. I unloaded and reloaded the photo paper. Did not help. I tried to print from WIndows and Windows 10 photo App Picasa Photo Viewer. Will not recognize the photo tray. When I load the window of the printer photo paper will not let me choose the photo tray. So I can't yet do this way. I don't understand why it will work sometimes and now not at all. Help, please. I love this printer, but it gets so frustrating. Thank you.

    Hi @Carlene1,

Since you are able to get the picture to print, which would indicate that the question is in the software, not the hardware. You should be able to print from programs other than the Windows Photo Viewer. If you experience problems when you try to print from other programs, I recommend that you contact the manufacturer of the software.

  • HP PSC Photosmart 2410 - Photo printing ok on normal, but not on paper photo paper?

    Hello

Can you help me?  I recently tried to print photos on photo paper (that I have not had problems with before), but the printing result is that colors and therefore the photos are fine for the first third of the photo book but then became pink and blue stripes.  I would have thought it was toner related but print the same photos on normal quality paper and the photo is good.

Before I throw the current toner can anyone comment?

    Thank you

It seems that you are low on the yellow ink.  When printing in ink mode to photo mode is used more quickly and that the cartridge is low it may not able to cope with the demand.  Plain paper using ink at a more leisurely pace and a photo can be printed correctly in plain paper mode.  A new cartridge should solve your problem.

  • HP Envy 7640 e-all-in-one Seri: HP Envy 7640 does not print

Printer locked up - line said that the printer's paper (not) and it was offline (no). I unplugged, restarted the computer and the printer. Followed all the basic troubleshooting tips and stupidly the suggestion to reset all printers. Big mistake, now zero printers happen when I try to add. The search option does not either. Is it my computer? I don't think so. This is a NEW printer - printer only a dozen or so articles. Help, please!

Welcome to the HP community @ellumare,

I read on your desire 7640 does not although you receive an "Out of Paper" error, the printer showed as 'offline' and currently cannot add printer on your Mac with 10.7.

Here's what I would recommend. Try troubleshooting the equipment first, because if there is a problem with the unit, this will lead to software problems and troubleshooting cycle can get tedious.

    1. power reset the printer and make sure the printer is plugged directly into the wall, avoiding bars power and surge protectors. This ensures that the printer is full on.

    Turn on the printer.
With the printer, unplug the power cord at the back of the unit.
Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
    Wait at least 15 seconds.
Plug the power cord into the wall outlet.
Reconnect the power cord to the back of the unit.
If the printer does not by itself, press the Power button to turn it on.

    2. try to make a copy of the front of the printer. If the work of copies successfully, go to step 3, if the copies do not work, tell me what happens when you try to make them as there is most likely a hardware problem.

    3. from your Mac:

    1. Reset the printing system
    2. Repair disk permissions
    3. Restart the Mac.
    4. Click on this link to download and install the full features and software driver: HP ENVY 7640 e-all-in-One Printer series full feature software and drivers
    5. Print from text editing and other test applications and also try to scan from HP Scan/HP Utility.

I hope this helps, and I hope to hear the result!

Tip: Make sure that the printer is plugged directly into the wall, avoiding bars power and surge protectors. This ensures that the printer is full on.

  • HP Envy 7640: HP Envy 7640 does not copy the all-in-One

I have a variant of other posts on this site.  My desire 7640 doesn't copy, either on the glass, or through the feeder directly but only if it has been idle for some time.  I get the message that it is scanning and paper feeds, but the wheel just spins and nothing to copy.  However, if I then turn off, restart and then try and copy, it works fine.

I downloaded the drivers the most recent (February 3, 2015), so I think I am up to date.  Moreover, when I download the drivers, it seems to install on my Mac - that somehow 'transferred' to the printer itself?  The reason why I ask, is that if you copy something, there is no interaction with the Mac (that I know of) and I want to make sure that the printer has made more recent drivers.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you!

    Chris

    Hi @silgec,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I noticed that your HP Envy 7640 won't copy. And I'm happy to see it for you!

First of all, I would make sure that the printer power cable is connected directly to the wall outlet, not a surge protector. Questions when it is connected to an uninterruptible power supply/Strip/surge protector power. This is true for printers and ink jet.

Then check that the printer firmware is up-to-date, browsing through this guide, get the latest Firmware and updates.

Let's start with the following steps, and we will see what happens!

  • HP Envy 7640: HP Envy 7640 will not print photos from the photo tray

I bought a HP Envy 7640 today, 11/05/2016.  It will NOT print photos from the photo tray.   The printer has paper in all trays, but keep taking 8 1/2 x 11 paper rather than photo paper.  I use the default application for the display of pictures (Microsoft Office 2010) and have tried selecting both the 4x6in of the index card. and sizes of 4 x 6/10 x 15 cm.  The end result is the same, an image printed in the middle of the plain paper.  I searched the forums and found that two related threads.  Given that I just install the printer today, I figure there will be newer drivers in the last hour, so I finished downloading "printing HP and Scan doctor."  He finds a "Match of Port issue" and that fixed it, but when I printed another picture, he was still on plain paper.  If I remove the paper and leave only in photo paper, the printer throws a fit and said that it is out of paper.  Any ideas?  I'm not a newbie, but in more than 20 years of use of HP products, this is the first time that I had to fill out a problem for a Board of Directors.  (And with the instant the ink program, it starts to accumulate the number of my printing without a single success.)

RESOLVED - photo, once you select the printer & paper, you must go into OPTIONS, then the properties of the printer, then go to the paper/quality tab, then the paper Source and select manually the specific bac (bac/Photo main tray).  Sheesh, should we not automatic as soon as you select the paper size?

I connect to Internet through LAN.  My printer is connected to my pc through USB.  I do not use of wireless.

I did not any changes to software or driver.

I read through many solutions in this forum and tried several.  I disabled my firewall and antivirus first.  None of them have worked. I tried the SCLiteFix_299026.exe, the missing persons files difficult.  Did not work.  When I try to uninstall the printer and reinstall, I can't do that either.  I get error 2503 and 2502.

I want to just my printer wizard to work and have been unable to find a solution.

Maybe not all of these steps were necessary, but here's what I did and it worked! :

    (1) open HP Support Assistant icon on desktop.  It is a white question mark in a blue circle.

    (2) HP Support Assistant should show all HP devices.  Find your printer and click on UPDATES.  (Mine had no updates pending, but I clicked on UPDATE anyway)

    3) click on Diagnostics and tools

    4) click on HP print and Scan doctor.  Select your printer and click NEXT

    (5) you will get DIFFICULTY PRINTING and SCANNING of DIFFICULTY.  I chose the DIFFICULTY of ANALYSIS

    (6) when he finished, a screen opens and says "If you still have problems with your product, here are a few options for additional support.   Physically, I removed the printer cable to the USB port and choose "UNINSTALL AND REINSTALL with the latest version of the software".  I wasn't expecting to work, but he did.

    (7) I rebooted.  When my pc came, I began to other programs or applications.  I have disabled the firewall software and anti-virus temporarily.

    (8) I have re-inserted cable printer to a USB port

    (9) I open the HP Envy 7640 installation disc and click with the right button on the file: E7640x64.msi.  I clicked on install

    (10) software installed without error.  I then went to my office, clicks on the icon HP ENVY 7640 series... and VOILA!  My Printer Wizard now works!

    (11) I turned on my firewall and anti-virus back and I'm IN business

Hope these instructions can help someone else.
