HP G61 - no post power light is on

Hello

I read through many post with similar issues but could not find my exact problem.  I don't have a job, but the power led lights up.  The cap lock and num lock lights flash.  I am aware that there is a corresponding code derived ny with the number of flashes.  But my cap lock and num laptop lights DO NOT stop flashing at all.  I stopped counting at 20 as the graphic reference code stops at 6 flashes.  I have done much HARD RESTART without result.

The solution to this question and leads to the root of gold or ideas will be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

Frank

Present the creation of this querry I but to remove all components and re their seat.  While removing the hard drive, I noticed that he was missing a transport screw 'hard drive '.  As soon as the reversal of the laptop upside the missing screw fell the my table.  I have the feeling that this short something on the laptop.  Oddly enough, I read another "g61 no boot" poster on different site and found that someone else had the same problem of screws.  Sounds like something that HP should cover even after the warranty is over.

I have a Slimline Paviliion S5 - 1224.  No changes or additions were made to the material.  When I stop the machine, it is used to change the orange or the wide power led.  Now, the blue power light stays on and blinks after power off the power.  The light on the adapter bluetooth in the front USB port stays on, too.  After removing the USB BT adapter, the light on the adapter goes off, indicating that the power is off to this USB port.  But PC power light blue is not far away, even when it is disconnected from the wall outlet.  It's as if the machine is haunted.  I unplugged the decision-making and the left that it disconnected for more than a week, but the blue light on the front of the machine never went out and is still on, even if she wavers and seems to fade a little.  When I turned on the rear, the light back to him is normal on State 'blue '.  Power off, blue light stays on.  Disconnected from the plug, light blue stays on.  I'm afraid to leave this thing in the House and will probably trash if someone does not have a solution.  Anyone who has ever seen anything like that?  All my friends of teckie IT are puzzled and suggested I post here to see if anyone else had the same problem.  Don't bother taking repair.

UPDATE: I removed all devices and low and behold, when I unplugged my BluRay USB drive, the lights are all on the CPU.  I restarted, close, tried to sleep and Hibernate and everything works fine now.  I guess that the BluRay player was watching somehow the CPU to turn it off.  It is a unit that is known for needing a huge amount of energy to function properly.  Naturally, the Blu - Ray player is not get reconnected to this HP PC.   Now I use with my Mac.

  • Satellite A - power light turns on but nothing happens

The laptop does not start. The power light turns on but nothing happens. Before that, error message 0 x 0. has been posted.

Can anyone suggest what to do?

    Hello!

It sounds like a hardware malfunction...

Try this workaround: remove the battery and the AC adapter. Wait one hour and then reconnect the battery and the AC adapter. Now, try to restart the laptop.

I put t know what laptop you have exactly but if it doesn t work you should go to an authorized service provider. Technicians can check your laptop.

  • HP Pavilion dv2000 power light flashing

    I have a HP Pavilion dv2000

I have a hp laptop, I had problems with the battery with do not load, so I changed the battery.

now the problem here is the computer will not be stopped unless I have remove the battery. No, even if I press and hold the power botton.

When I go through the normal shutdown procedure, it all happens but the power light blinks constantly and it will stay like that, unless the block is disconnected.

Someone at - he never encountered this?

    Windows vista home premium/sp2

AMD Turion (TM) 64/2 1.80 ghz processor

    1 GB memory

    32 bit operating system

It sounds like you have a hardware with either the battery or the computer problem (or both since the power button problem occurs when it is connected only to a power outlet as well).  Take the machine to a repair shop of computer with a good reputation for diagnosis and repairs or replacement parts.  I'm all but certain this isn't a problem of software with Vista.

    Good luck!

    Hi rafburtonwood,

Try a hard reset as follows:

Remove the battery and unplug the DC power adapter.
Press and hold the power button for more than 15 seconds.
Plug the DC power adapter (leave the battery for now)
    Press the power button

  • XPS 18 1820 only POST - Power 7 white LED flashes

    Hello

I restarted my XPS 18 after only an update of Windows 10 (I think that was the case the graphics drivers) and now it does not start.

No logo, no POST... nada.  Press and hold the power button for about 10 seconds, I can here a subtle click and whir, I think it's the HD fan and processor die.  Then hit power button once again, I see a code flashing on the power light: 7 flashes white, pause, repeat.

I can't after that.  Connect a USB keyboard and pressing F12 do nothing.

No difference between supply the stand and plug the power cord directly.

    Any suggestion is appreciated.

  • Impossible to find connect them drive HARD Light and Power light after the change of office case - I got my answer

I changed my case for reason of cooling, and I can't do the power light and the light work of HARD drive on the new case. I searched in vain on the web for the specification of the motherboard. The original HP PC is a HPE 130F. Motherboard is a H-RS880-Μatx (Aloe)
Manufacturer: Foxconn. I found a few spec but not enough details on connector J18.

The original front panel connector is an all-in-one type. I found the power switch and the reset light connector J18 but cannot do the work of LED.

    Any help appreciated.

    Thank you.

Hello CeD_B, I'm not familiar with your card connectors mother special façade, however if cables (wires) are inserted in a plastic connector, you may remove the wires and connect them individually. They are usually labeled.

The son of LEDs for the power switch and the hard disk activity are polorized, which means they have a plus and a downside that should be connected to the pins on the motherboard in the correct polarity.

If you have connected to power led and HDD led pins on the motherboard and the lights are not just back the sons and the led should light up, and the hard drive activity led should light up when the hard disk is written to or retrieved from the hard drive data.

While this image is not your motherboard, it will offer an idea of connections pin on some motherboards.

  • DeskJet 932C - the power light is on and the cartridge flashing

Hello! I know my DeskJet 932C is 'old', but it seems to be in excellent condition.  First time that I had a problem.  The power light is on and the cartridge is flashing.  When I open the cover, the plateau of the cartridge moves to the far left.  The arrow points to the unfortunate color cartridge.  The missed years ago color cartridge.  I use my printer to print B & W, so I've been printing with the empty cartridge in place for years.

I removed a reinserted the color and B & W cartridges and turn on the power and turns off.  I used the HP print and scan doctor, and it's scan does not have something wrong, I clicked on print a test page, and nothing happens.  The test page is listed as 1 document in the queue.   Status: error - printing.

The printer has been in its current position on my desk for years.  It was not known of any trauma... None does damage... no power failure.  It's clean.  Has been connected to 4 laptops and uninterrupted service.

I prefer not to buy a new color cartridge.

Would appreciate help.  I would like to know what it means and if there is a solution.

    Thank you!

    Focus21

The printer will perform electrical cartridges to light control and a few other times.  If an error printing can be blocked to avoid damaging the printer.  Clean the contacts of the cartridge as shown in the document here can solve the problem, otherwise you will probably need to replace the color cartridge.  The 932 Deskjet will allow printing with an empty cartridge, but for years, the cartridge may fail electrically and needs to be replaced.

  • Equium L40 10 X flashing green power light

    Hi guys,.

I have an old Equium L40 that I haven't used in a while.

Now when I plug the power adapter into the power green led just blinks constantly.
I checked the blink codes, but I can't find one for mine. It simply turns green for a second then off.
Then green for a second then off the coast and that constantly.

I tried to remove the battery for a few minutes and then hold the power button for a minute, but I just get the same result. The adapter is one that came with the laptop and as far as I can tell works very well.

Other ideas would be greatly appreciated!

    Thank you guys!

    Hello

Indicator power (DC IN) indicates the status of the power supply with the power adapter plugged.
(Without flashing) Green means supply and the computer is turned on.
The power light on the front of the computer lights green when the computer is turned on.
Flashing orange indicates power to the computer while the laptop is in mode 'sleep'.

Unfortunately, the DC IN green flashing red state looks like a hardware problem.
Probably the power supplied to the laptop is abnormal or there are a few problems with electronic power on the motherboard.

By the way: Please check the memory modules live. Blow an and test the device using that one module in each slot. Check the two modules.
A few years ago, a friend of mine had some problems with the laptop. The flashing light indicates the issue of RAM

You see a Toshiba splash screen at the beginning?
    You can access the BIOS?

If this is not possible, a serious hardware problem appeared...
It could just be a memory, but in the worst cases, your motherboard is the problem

  • Satellite 2805-S201: AC power light flashes orange 8 times

    Hello

I worked on a Satellite 2805-S201 and everything was fine until I put a PCMCIA wireless with 3, 3V power.
After that, the AC power light flashes orange 8 times and recycle.

It comes with power supply, battery, AC and no battery installed, etc. If I pull out the power plug and the battery and then put both when AC is green and the battery may charge. As soon as I push the power button, I hear a light click on the right side of the device and then it goes into the amber cycling power.

Bulletins of support mentioned that the card could get damaged, but did not mention the unit itself.
No, the PCMCIA card is not always connected

    Any thoughts?

    Hello

The flashing provides a micro code which refers to the hardware failure.
But please don't ask me what might mean this code because in my opinion, only an authorized service provider can be read and can check in his manuals and documentations.
But it is of course, in most cases, it s a hardware problem of motherboard! ;(

Perhaps the external PCMCIA card was not totally compatible and damages of something on the map but it's only my personal suggestion to ensure what s bad hardware fault diagnosis would be necessary.

    Hello

In short, 0, long ways 1.
In your case, the binary code is 1000 1001
Now, we must reverse the binary code because the most significant bit.
This means that the code is; 1001 0001
The HEXADECIMAL code means; 91 h

Error code is 91 h but I n t know what that 91 h means and what role might be affected exactly!

Eventually it s something wrong with electronic power supply on the motherboard, but only the ASP technician could provide more details
However, in most cases, the motherboard is affected and needs to be replaced.

    Welcome them

  • Portege Z830-10F no display - power light flashes

    Hello

I have a problem, when Toshiba Portege Z830-10F of loading, the screen is off, flashes of light of energy Green two times two times yellow and repeated, the screen will not turn on.
    What it means?

(PC was left alone in the night on table)
I try to disconnect the battery and load without it, it did not help.

Indicator DC IN (first on the left):
Flashing orange indicates a problem with the power supply, initially, you should try plugging the adapter into a different power outlet. If she does still not work, please contact Toshiba support in your country.

((Deuxieme power light to the left):
Flashing orange indicates that the computer is in mode 'sleep' and that there is enough available power (mains or battery adapter) to maintain this State. In sleep mode indicator lights for a second and off for two seconds.

    Also try this.
Remove the battery, disconnect the adapter, press and hold the power button / stop along 30 sec.
Now connect the battery and AC adapter and turn on the device.

  • Qosmio F20 won't start - power light flashes orange

My Qosmio F20-149 crashed yesterday and I was not able to get it working again. When I try to turn it on, the power light flashes on and outside (on: 1 sec, off: 1 sec) and the cooler fan operates at full power. When I press a key, there is a genre or a sound error. otherwise no reaction of the laptop; even the CD player does not open.

I did no RAM-implementation to date, and I use the original power supply Toshiba. I tried from the laptop using only the battery, only power and on both. No change in the reaction. I tried all possible combinations (with a free one, both... etc) of my two cards, RAM (512 + 512) and still no use.

    I am really puzzled.

If I understand you just your laptop sends a blink code. Copy the following code appears so laptop has detected a problem with the electronic power supply.
In this case, there is nothing that you can do and the laptop must be sent to the service provider allowed the closest.

They have manuals containing instructions and the exact description of the code how do I solve this problem.
Sorry, buddy, but I do not think that anyone here can offer an accurate diagnosis for that matter.
