  • IP address for LaserJet 4100N changed which resulted in "Impossible to connect to the printer" error

I had the printer (HP Laserjet 4100N) and the computer (desktop Mac OS X Version 10.6.8) unplugged for two months.  When I enabled both, I wasn't able to print more.  The two are connected by Ethernet (via an Airport Extreme 802.11n) cable

After printing the Configuration page, I noticed that the address of the printer HP JetSend is 10.0.1.8 now.  It used to be 10.0.1.5

When I type http://10.0.1.8/hp/jetdirect, it is confirmed that the printer has a new address.  When I go to preferences on the computer, followed by Print & Fax, I see the originating IP address always.  When I go to options & offer, the originating IP address is present in the name and location boxes.  I thought that I could just change the IP address both of these boxes to the new IP address.  It does not work.  (BTW and URL never lpd queue name change 10.0.1.5 to 10.0.1.8).

Then I thought that things would be solved by changing the new IP address to the former in the menu that appears when I look at http://10.0.1.8/hp/jetdirect. Which doesn't work anymore.

    What Miss me?

    Thank you

It is resolved...  I went to the Apple discussion Forum and saw this:

    Regal909 , February 28, 2010 20:35
    in response to Chuck Stewart

OK, this one is solved. In Print & FAX preferences panel, click on the button "+" to add a printer. Define the contextual menu Protocol to "HP Jetdirect - taken". In the 'Address' field, enter the IP address of the HP 4100.

Leave the class 'tail' blank unless you use a print server. I'm not...

Set the 'Name' field to what you want as a name for this printer.
Set the field 'Place' to something that reminds you of where this printer is physically located.

Currently, Mac has probably already found the printer by its IP address, select the driver appropriate for you, and so all you need to do is click the Add button.

  • HP Laserjet III: The printer does not print

I have a HP Laserjet III printer that I used with my HP laptop. The computer has Vista Ultimate. The printer has a parallel port only. A parallel to USB cable port was placed on the printer that the computer has no parallel port. Several years ago I installed the printer on this computer and it was working fine until yesterday when I accidentally deleted the printer when I was looking for cancel a print job. I tried the printer function added in the Control Panel, but the test is given a printing error message or disappears without printing. I tried plug-and-play, but the printer is not seen and is not installed. Printer drivers are suspected to be part of windows, but I can't find printer drivers, there is a HP Laserjet III printer installed to LPT1, but this computer has no LPT so not sure how it was installed. Of course, that does not print the printer is not connected to the computer. How can I install this printer to make it work on this computer?

When you deleted the printer you may have removed the entries between the usb adapter to the computer and the printer.  If you have a disk provided with the adapter which can help you get it going again.  You're dealing with two objects here and it is possible we won't communicate again.  Try another card kind of force the computer to see the new map and help you get the printer working again.  There probably many registry enteries that have been established when you plugged the adapter between the two devices together.  Some of these entries went when you deleted the printer.  One more thing, you can try is to do a restore of the computer to a date before you deleted the printer.  Who will restore the registry at this time and even the printer.  I would establish a restore point before going back just in case you lose something more important with dating back.

  • How stop "low on ink to the printer" error message on ipad

HP Officejet 5470 continues to send a low on ink error message to my IPad. I don't know my printer settings to disable these messagets, help!

You won't find any printer or the printer settings. AirPrint is a diffuse wifi printing system, so that these messages are actually sent by your printer and simply displayed on your iPad.  Stop messages, to bad draw on the printer itself.  If it is low on ink, then replace cartridges.  If this is not the case, check the printer manual or online support on erasing the incorrect error messages or status.

  • 1102w: 1102w gives the printing error msg, but prints

I had a hp p1102w for quite awhile and it fits perfectly our needs on our home wifi network.  One of the features that I use regularly is the double-sided printing.  About two months ago I started to have an error message "HP P1102 couldn't print (document name)", but the fine print.  I did a really worry about this until I tried to print double-sided.  Now the printer prints the pairs of sides, but I never message to put the paper and press to continue.  The printer and the computer just sat there looking at each other and nothing happens.  If I press the 'X' button, the error message is displayed immediately on the computer and the rest of the work is lost on the printer.  I downloaded and installed the drivers from HP, doctor of the HP printer software, searched the forum suggestions, tried a few suggestions that vaguely resembled my problem, active firewall and turn it on again and finally concluded that the printer was bad.  So I bought another.  I get the same problem, tried the same remedies and still get the error msg.

My conclusion is that there is a communication problem between the two devices is probably caused by some windows update at some point.  Anyone have any bright ideas?

    Peace,

    V

    Hi @vneathery ,

I see that you have problems with two-sided printing, print the numbers but you do not get a prompt for that flick. You bought another printer and have the same problem. I would really like to be able to help solve this problem.

What application you are printing from?

Try another application to see if you have the same results.

Temporarily disable the Antivirus software and try again two-sided printing.

Usually, when the driver does not communicate to switch pages, the printer blinks, by opening and closing the cover of the printer, it will continue printing. It acts as a resume button.

Download and run the Print and Scan doctor. It will diagnose the problem and could solve it automatically. Find and fix common printer problems using the tools of diagnosis HP for Windows?

What were the results when you ran the Print and Scan Doctor? (she print or scan, error messages)

How is the printer connected? (USB / wireless)

If the printer is on a network, connect the USB cable to the printer and the computer and try to duplex.

Let me know if it worked, that way we can exclude a communication network problem.

Please let me know the results.

    Good day!
    Thank you.

  • HP 2510 "Unable to communicate with the printer" error.

    Greetings,

    I recently bought a Deskjet all-in-one of HP 2510. I'm running on Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

When I try to print documents, the printer comes with the following error:

    http://i.imgur.com/uwK8MNq.PNG

Try to use the print and scan tool doctor, I find a conflict report of driver:

    http://i.imgur.com/B9NCkTQ.PNG

Thus, after following the instructions, I uninstalled and reinstalled as indicated (in taking very special care to make exactly as shown in the installation instructions). Errors still occur.

I tried to delete the printer from the Device Manager, uninstalled the drivers of the various related devices out there, uninstalled the full software features using Add/Remove...then tried reinstalling again. I even tried to foregoing the installations CD and website (Yes, I tried both) and let Windows automatically installs the drivers. Always the same two errors original.

It sucked to the top of my Sunday together. Someone saw?

I managed to go today to get the USB power cord and it has indeed solved my problems. It seems that the USB cord that works with older models is not compatible with this printer, so that's been my problem.

Fortunately, the new cord works perfectly and I was able to print two pages of perfect test.

I apologize for my frustrated shattered earlier and thank you for your help.

    This suggestion can help.

    Quote from: http://snipurl.com/1mdayq [www_eventid_net]

From a newsgroup post: "it seems that the print spooler does not and that it was impossible (or not configured to) restart itself.» When the print spooler does not work, printers will be not visible in the Printers folder, and you will not be able to add a new printer. A number of things could cause the print spooler to fail. It's corrupt print jobs, incompatible or problematic printer drivers or port monitors, corrupted file or disc and even other applications or processes interfering with the spooler in memory. If you try to manually restart the print spooler and it fails immediately, he may be trying to process a print job corrupted after the start. It is a common cause for the print spooler failures that occur immediately. If the print spooler starts and printing features returns for a while before a failure once again, then a monitor driver or the port is probably the cause of the problem.

To remove print spooling jobs that could cause this problem, simply remove (or remove) the files with the extension ".spl" or ".shd' of the location of the coil when the print spooler is stopped. This place is typically "c:\\system32\spool\printers" (it might have been edited manually). Once the existing spool files have been deleted, try to restart the print spooler again to see if it works normally. If there is no (.shd or .spl files) spooling print jobs, or remove the old spooling print jobs does not change the behavior, a port monitor or driver may be to blame. • Is no longer able to print on a network HP 6310 printer - printing error (works fine, now the printing error returns)

Was printing fine, no problem, then had problem with printer HP 6310 showing as offline while he was online
Fix this problem by unchecking the box SMTP on the printer port.
Now shows that it is printing, but after a minute or so, it returns an error ("error printing")

Interesting, when I try to cancel the document does not print, I have to click Cancel to remove the document - the first time I get a "send error" - the second time, the document disappears.

    • I am running Vista home Premium (64 bit) on computer laptop Dell Studio 15, updated with Service Pack 1.  This error has occurred even after a cold reboot.

It worked very well - I think that the original problem (printer showing as offline) happened after a hibernation, but problem now Vista think it's printing (after turning off SMTP setting on the printer port), but it's not.

    Hello Ibusby2000,

Thank you for using the Microsoft Answers forum.  I suggest to go to the manufactures website and download the latest drivers and or updates.  You can also remove the printer and add it again.

  • LaserJet cp1025: laserjet cp1025 colour printing error

    Hello

I could not print. The ready button keep flashing, but nothing happened. Also, I tried to install the firmware, but failed (as I thought could solve the problem). Help, please.

    Hi bapaknyaanak2,

Have you been able to print the test material?

What were the results when you ran the Print and Scan Doctor? (he print test page, error messages)

You experience this problem with all applications? (you mentioned that you can sometimes print 1 of 5 pages)

If the material of that test prints, it could be software or hardware related. (USB cable or port on computer do not receive enough power)

Is it a laptop or desktop?

The USB cable must be connected directly to the computer and should not be more then 6 feet. Try a different USB port on the computer. Try another USB cable.

If it is a laptop, check the power on the computer to see if that is causing the problem. Go to Device Manager, under Bus for each made USB root hub controllers right click and left click on properties, for the management of the power supply remove the check box for "allow the computer to turn off this device to save energy. It allows the computer to restrict or cut off the power for this unit. How to make in the Windows Device Manager?

If you're still having problems, I would say to uninstall and reinstall the printer software to see if it's related software.

    Thank you.

  • OfficeJet 4630: "can't print to the printer" error ONLY on Windows 8.1

I have PDF document ("test.pdf") thatwas created using Quick Books and a creator of PDF file called pdfFactory. Quick books and pdfFactory never gave me any problems in the past. The document is 2 full pages of text. (no color) My printer is connected wireless.

    Here's the problem:

If I print in duplex mode and select 2 copies on Windows 8.1 I ALWAYS get this message:

"Error printing on HP Officejet 4630 series...".

The printer could not print test.

When it breaks down, the second side of the second copy is not printed correctly.  A little is not printed.

I can reproduce this using two different computers and 8.1 of Windows computer.

My Windows laptop 8.1 and my printer behaves exactly like my neighbour Windows 8.1 office.

We all have two series connected 4630 wireless printers. Both Windows 8.1 systems are 64-bit and are up-to-date about Windows updates and the latest drivers for the printer.

    Here's something interesting:

If I print from any computer Windows 8.1 (1 copy front and back), it works

If I print from any computer Windows 8.1 (2 copies/monoface, 1 it works)

If I print from my desktop Windows 7 (2 copies front and back), it works

If I print from my iPhone 6 (2 copies front and back), it works

If I print from my MacBook Air (2 copies/duplex), it works.

The problem started to happen this month, July.  There was a Windows 8.1 update on the 17 who has been installed.

    Any ideas?

    We have had success!

    1. I ran the utility to try Windows troubleshooting and "fix printer problems" and it did not help.

    2. I downloaded and followed the instructions to install the suggested fix. When I did the reboot required, he said that there was who had several other updates being installed. After the reboot, I decided to redo the update of Windows. There was another set of updates pending.  I installed and rebooted. There is expectation nstill optional updates. I installed all the people.  Finally when I did Uopdate of Windows he did expect NO updates of any kind.  I looked through the list of installed updates and did not find the hot fic among them.  On the assumption that one of these recent updates superseeded the fix, I just did the tests again.  They all work,.

So, I don't know if the healed fix or something in many other updates.  According to the description of the correction to hot I think he had a very small chance to solve our problems.

I intend to help my neighbor install standard updates and see if the problem goes away also.

    Hi LauraWolfe,

Reading your post it seems that you did the basic troubleshooting steps that I would recommend.

Because your printer is under warranty, I recommend you contact HP customer for resolution.

Here is a link to the support site where you can submit a case: http://h20566.www2.hp.com/portal/site/hpsc/public/scm/home?lc=en-US&cc=US&sp4ts.oid=7458627

  • Windows 7 Windows cannot connect to the printer error

Hi, since a few days ago I was connected to a network printer and everything was fine. Today, nothing works. I removed the printer thinking that would help (and I could go out and find him), BAD!

I click on add a printer > add a network printer > select the network printer and get a box that says: I need to install a driver from the other machine, then I make him trust, etc blah blah blah, click OK and then get this error.

Windows cannot connect to the printer.

    Operation failed with error 0x000003e3

Both machines are running Windows 7 x 64.

I googled all night with no solutions. Please help, I need to be able to print! Thank you!

I solved the problem. I had to join the homegroup computer, was too attached to the printer. Once I did, he saw the printer and installed the necessary driver. I can print now!
