HP LaserJet P1102: USB not recognized during installation of HP LaserJet P1102

I have a Sony Vaio VPCEH computer laptop with Windows 7 and when I run the disk I got with the printer on my laptop, that the installation procedure works in what concerns the section "Install printer Software". When you are prompted to turn on the printer and connect the cable USB to the laptop it says 'USB not recognized '.  I tried all 4 slots USB into my laptop but the USB still appears as an unknown device with an exclamation point in a yellow triangle. I searched internet solutions and tried to uninstall the unknown device in Device Manager and restart the installation with the disc, I also tried clicking on the unknown device driver software update but it says the software driver is up to date and still, it shows as an unknown device and is not recognized. I also tried to uninstall the HP software from the disc on my laptop and that reinstall but nothing has worked. I felt for over 2 weeks now and have not been able to use it because of this problem and I really need for University, so I would be very happy if someone could please give me a solution to this problem

Hi @Janemaguire,

Have you tried another USB cable?

Because the printer is not detected on the Mac, it may be the USB port of the printer.

What happened when you tried to install the printer on Mac?

Error messages?

What is the model Laserjet P1102w?

Let me know. Thank you.

  • Solution: The USB floppy drive is not recognized during installation of XP of RAID

    Hello

This Solution is for notebooks Qosmio with RAID driver during (manual installation of windows)

I found the Solution to this problem,

[When you install Microsoft Windows XP by using a floppy drive USB on a player who]
requires a driver during the installation, the USB floppy drive is not recognized in all
installation. When Windows XP searches the driver of the second time, he will not be able to see
the floppy USB drive drive and prompts the user for the driver (RAID) again.
The installation will never reach this point. ]

    Solution:

This is a limitation of Microsoft, the Floppy Drive are do not appear in the file Windows 'txtsetup.sif.

Simply change the floppy drive in another brand and avoid Usb 2.0 external Usb floppy plus old 1 Try
Also note the back of drive sometimes they write (no bootable) avoid this also

I personally Test this and it does not work it is "IBM Portable floppy drive" drive silver

  • HARD drive is not recognized during installation of Windows XP on Qosmio F30 - 140

    Dear alls,

I'm trying to install winxp on my Qosmio F30-140, but when I boot from the CD and after Setup starts, it shows me a massage like this:
"windows has not found any HARD drive. Please make sure that you have an and it's probably work and connection very well... blah blah blah... »

What should I do to install my OS?

    Thank you

    Hello

your machine has a RAID controller, so before installing windows, you must install the RAID controller before. This occurs after you´ve began installing XP. Then a message on the bottom of the screen will appear that tells you that you must press F6 if you install HARD drive controllers (or something that way).
You need to install the RAID driver from a USB floppy drive, which can be downloaded here:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp

After you have installed the driver for your drive HARD will be displayed, and you would be able to install XP.

  • Why am I suddenly "USB not recognized, one of the devices USB has malfunctioned and Windows does not recognize"

Hi all. If anyone out there in Cyber Land can solve this problem for me so I've personally you will issue an eight-pack of ice-cold beer (or a bottle of wine for the ladies lol)...

I'll try not to waffle too guys, so here's...

Right my PC running Windows XP. I also have itunes installed on my PC (I have an iphone 4). Upward until yesterday my iphone and itunes were working well, (once I plugged my iphone in the itunes USB port recognised that my iphone was plugged and synchronization was fine etc.).

But now when I plug my iphone to PC to sync with itunes, I get a pop up box on the lower right part of the screen that reads... "USB not recognized one of the USB devices has malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize."

After visiting about 5 different sites now "Ways to solve this problem", believe it or not, I still have the problem bloody! :(

A site proposed shutdown PC and unplug it from the power supply, then plug it back start-up and back... this as did not work!
The other they say that I should go to Device Manager, uninstall all the USBs then restart... it did not work either.
    Tried a system restore
    Tried to reinstall itunes

When I check the names USB in Device Manager, there is one who reads unknown device. I am literally pulling what's left of my hair now. I tried to solve this problem for almost 2 days now and still no joy. That's why no matter what input you guys would be very appreciated. I'm no PC Wizard, so please, don't think you're patronizing me if you break down things step by step for me.

Thank you comrades, cordially, Freddy frustrated. :)

Another said I should go to Device Manager, uninstall all the USBs and restart.

Usually, this works... but can be very dangerous, unless you have a PS/2 keyboard.

I also assume that you have tried all other USB ports on the computer. tried a verified USB device (for example, a flash drive) in the USB usually when you plug in your iPhone. and I tried your iPhone in another computer (I know it's rare for an error message Windows really means what he says, but sometimes the material lacks).

Is the charge of the iPhone when it is connected to the USB port (I don't think)?  This happened to me recently, but a reboot fixed it.  I guess that that happened to you.

I guess that you don't see the error messages in Device Manager or you must declare them.

You can uninstall all USB devices that do not exist as follows:

    • Open a command prompt window (start > run > cmd > OK)
    • Enter the following command and press enter

    Set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices = 1

    • Start the Device Manager by typing the following in the same command prompt window

    devmgmt.msc

    • In Device Manager, click the view menu and select "Show hidden devices".
    • You should see a category just after "Non-Plug and Play drivers" named "other devices."  Chances are that there will be a big exclamation yellow mark beside it.  When you expand the "other devices" you should see several non identified "USB devices."  Uninstall all this.
    • Reboot (with the iPhone NOT connected).
  • Device USB not recognized (malfunction)

I went on my external hard drive and an error message came - USB not recognized - device due to a malfunction. I tried switching off all voltage and turn support but still the same voltage. Then I went to print something and the same message came. However, I used my printer today without any problem. I don't know what happened. Advice please? Thank you very much. Aide-de-camp

Hello ~ thanks for the reply.

Just to say that I read somewhere switch all switch off and leave it for half an hour - then turn on everthing. Miraculously - it worked!

  • FAT corrupted USB not recognized

    I have problems with my rocket GB 8. This morning, while trying to fix my flash drive I accidently deleted the partition off my rocket. Of course, now I'm reeciving 'Fat corrupted' error on my fuse and USB will not recognize. I've searched high and low. I tried to power it in 20 seconds, put the "rocket" on hold, then press on the< rewind="" button="" (and="" center="" buton)="" while="" connecting="" the="" usb="" and="" i="" still="" receive="" the="" usb="" not="" recognized="" in="" windows="" (xp,="" vista="" &="" 7).="" i="" even="" tried="" using="" my="" wife's="" laptop="" with="" vista="" with="" the="" same="" usb="">

Please tell me I didn't have the toast when I messed up the partition! Help!

Finally, after the persistence, I got the computer to recognize the "rocket". Managed to format to FAT32 via Windows without any problem, then via the "rocket". All is well now.

  • Deviice USB not recognized. Help, please.

So I have this Freecom 500 GB Portable external Hardrive and I have used it for several months now. It worked fine on my laptop and other computers, I'll until recently, when I plug it says: ' "USB device not recognized.". I click on the USB icon and it said: "one of the devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and Windows does not it." he has never done this before. In addition, there was a 'recommendation' which suggests I 'try to re-connect. If Windows does still not it, replace the device. " So I tried and tried (reconnection) but it's the same thing. USB NOT RECOGNIZED. I tried on the laptop of others and computers and the same thing happened. I have important documents stored on this hard drive... I don't think that the computer is at fault, rather my hardrive, but I'm not sure. What do you think? And are there ways I could solve this problem?

    Hi Elysem,

As you have checked the hard disk on other computers and it gives the same error message that means there is a problem with the hard drive so I suggest you contact the manufacturer of the hard drive to get help.

It turns out that Dell thinks it's a hardware problem.  Theyu replaced the docking last week and that made it better for 3 or 4 days, but now he's back.  They will replace the motherboard this week, so we'll see...
