HP Officejet 4500 G510n-z all-in-one series, button walk / stop

HP Officejet 4500 G510n-z series all-in-one wireless.

When I press and release the power button, it does not start and no lights appear.

If I press and hold the power button for about a minute, the printer turns on and works fine.

To turn off the printer, I need to press the power button for about a minute.

Hi @Tonyey20,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! I see the power button on your HP Officejet 4500 is inadmissible, if you press and hold the button for one minute, the printer will turn on and work normally.

I would like you to start troubleshooting here: The HP printer will not be running or to respond when the power button is pressed

Please let me know the results. I'll watch for your reply.

Thank you

  • OfficeJet 4500 G510n: installation all-in-one printer

The first step in installation is to click on 'Install', but the only option is "Exit". What Miss me?

    Tim,

I'm not familiar with this error, or use Webroot security software.

It sounds as if something is locked up - or blocked.

The State of the printer is constantly changing: wireless status, entry and work completion, changes in the availability of the Internet (for ePrint), enters the State of ink.  The computer must have the permission and access of / to the printer to provide updates to the software of the printer.

You may need to take a look at your Webroot security settings - and newspapers.

If the system is aware of any issue, the Event Viewer logs may have made note of it.  The trick is to find and understand the data.

Assuming that you don't find anything abnormal, only, you will need to restart all - this time this includes the router because it is one of the places where things tend to lock in new facilities.    If your router provides logging features good, you might be able to track all errors.

  • OfficeJet 4500 G510a-f all-in-one

I'm running Windows7 and my printer is a HP Officejet 4500 G510a-f. When I turn on the printer carriage slams printer side repeatedly and when it stops my screen says there is a paper jam, but there is none. I went through the troubleshooting solutions, nothing helps. Someone knows how to fix this?

    Hi michaelk24,

    Thanks for the reply!

At this point, I think it's a hardware problem with the printer that we will not be able to resolve through troubleshooting. I suggest that you call HP Technical Support for your area and inquire about trade and trade program.

I hope you have a great weekend!

  • My HP Officejet 4500 G510 Wireless All In One

Operating system is Windows 7 Home Premium.  We had the product for one year.

The machine will not make copies.  All other functions work fine.  It is a new problem and we did not any changes.

    Help.

Disconnection has not made a difference.  However, we changed the black cartridge, once again, and now we have copies.

Thanks for your suggestion and if we once again this problem, we will certainly try your suggestion again.

  • OfficeJet 4500 G510a-f all-in-one charge not all software.

The "Solution Center" and the "Toolbox" does not recognize the installed printer. I can't do a scan but I can print and copy. I did a complete uninstall and re installed from the installation CD as recommended in case of problems, but this has not fixed the problem. My OS Vista Home premium. The re install does not have charge as much as the original as it panel\uninstall control programs was 6 HP items listed and re install lists HP 2 points only.

    Hey there krd67,

First of all, I recommend not to use the CD to reinstall. Usually the CD are outdated and will interrupt more while they are worth. I would recommend to uninstall, and then reinstall from the software/driver download pack. You can get the software here: HP Officejet full feature and driver software

Let me know if that solves the problem.

    Thank you!

  • HP Officejet 4500 - G510 printer all in one

A month ago, I made the trip in line and you need to print the itenerary, etc..  I had problems with the printer and tried several ways to get my info printed upwards... Needless to say, I pressed the option 'print' too many times, but without any result.  Low and behold, weeks later whenever something must be completed all I get are the original papers I needed!  How to erase the past and now unnecessary printing. As soon as the printer is turned on it starts automatically print... a lot of waste of paper and ink!

You will need to remove them from the queue for the printer on your computer.  Check the icon of the printer at the bottom right and select all and right click and delete.

  • OfficeJet 4500 g - m: all-in-one printer not scanning

    Hello

My scanner don't scan IE I scan a document into the computer. Says no scan options refer to device documentation to troubleshoot.

Have been to the help of hp but not always good page, unfortunately.

    Thanks for any help

Hi @big-x and welcome to the Forums of HP!

I see that you are having problems of scanning. I'd be happy to help you!

Before we begin, I have a few questions.

Are you connected wirelessly or via USB?

You have problems, make a copy?

I would first suggest off your computer and perform a power reset the printer.  Unplug the power cord from the printer and the power outlet, then wait 60 seconds. After 60 seconds, plug back in the printer. Make sure that you connect the printer directly to a wall outlet. Make sure to bypass any surge protector or power bar.

I would say then download and performs the scan of the HP Print and Scan Doctor.

Good luck and please let me know the results of your troubleshooting operations. Thanks for posting on the HP Forums!

  • OfficeJet 4500 G510n-z hangs up during installation or has missing file

I have recently upgraded your older desktop for Windows 7-64 bit.   Everything works great except that I can't get my HP Officejet 4500 G510n-z everything-in-one-printer to install.

I loaded the software before when the machine was working under Windows XP.  I recently bought a laptop and used the same CD software to install printer on this unit with no problems.  When I insert the CD and AutoPlay starts the Setup program seems 1) hang up in the step of verification system, or 2) declare that a file is missing (I don't know which) and then stops.  I tried to uninstall the software, tried to uninstall using Uninstall_L3.bat and restart the PC, to no avail.  I don't know what else to try.  Technical support costs, I could probably buy another printer.

I tried to remove completely all the HP software from the office refurbished, but now I can't find the Util / CCC folder.

How can I remove completely any / all traces of the HP from the desktop software?  Still working?

My printer was working fine until I needed to upgrade the operating system to Windows 7-64 bit.

Then download, save, and then run the latest drivers.

  • HP Officejet 4500 G510n Scan via airport utility?

How can I get my HP Officejet 4500 G510n to perform a SCAN using airport utility?

Airport utility is not related to operating an MFP. It there is no scan via airport utility function or any what router airport. That is, the printer must be connected through its network and NO USB connection to the router. What is the Airport base station is the printer is simply a network client. No printer function any is active via the airport.

You must install the drivers HP and the complete software for any OS that you are running on your computer.

It's the HP drivers and software that will allow you to scan over network. Or if NOT, maybe... often scanning on network is problematic.
