HP Officejet 6500 a: align the printheads

There is no black printing when printing a document.  I changed all 4 cartirdges, cleaned the heads but always without success.  When I go to SNAP PRINTHED I get an ALIGNMENT FAILURE error message.  REFER TO THE DOCUMENTATION FOR THE DEVICE FOR MORE DETAILS.

Hello @rbletsch,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I understand that your HP Officejet 6500 a e-all-in-one printer does not print in black. In addition, after having replaced all 4 cartridges, the alignment is a failure on your Officejet. I would like to help you to solve this problem today. Misalignment normally associated with print head. The print head of your machine is which "reads" your cartridges and ink to go on the control document. If the print head is defective in your HP Officejet printing system is corrupt and you need a replacement of the printhead to fix this. A defective print head would cause also no black print. That being said, I'm going to run through some troubleshooting steps to resolve this problem of ink black and alignment.

To begin troubleshooting, please click here. When opens the document of support please do run Solution three, four, solution and five Solution. This includes all sub-steps under three listed Solutions. If the problem persists, replace the print head would be the next step.

If your HP Officejet is out of warranty, I recommend checking out the @Bob_Headrickpost: black ink does not because there are useful measures to soak the printhead to remove the excess ink that could block the ink black and causing finally alignment to fail.

Please reply to this message with the result of your troubleshooting. I look forward to hear from you!

Have a problem with getting my Officejet 6500 to print the entire page.  Top of the body impression seems to be running on the top of the page, as if the paper was not inserted enough away early in the cycle of printing.  Became "paper mismatch" error message briefly, but that does not appear now.  To check the installation of the printer for proper paper size (8.5 "x 11").  Was printing normally until recently.  Uninstalled and reinstalled HP web page software.  Any suggestions?

    Problem seems to be resolved!

The printing Assembly that fits into the back of the unit was not completely seated.  There is no warning generated unit that the Assembly was not in place, just erratic behavior and various messages like "out of paper" and jamming of paper.  I recommend that if you are having similar problems, that you check carefully that the back print Assembly is properly inserted into the machine.

  • OfficeJet Pro 6830: Alignment of printhead error.

Hello. I have the above printer. I get the message print head alignment error. I have unplugged and restarted, he could usually get another page or two either printed or copied, and now I can't get anything to print. It gives me just the error message from the print head alignment. I've been very busy and it worked when I did this as mentioned above. Since it stop working completely, I checked in to see that the warranty has expired on 01/06/16. It must be a problem on this particular printer, as evidenced by what I read online. I wonder what I can do? HP Will stand behind this printer, since it has this problem, even if it's beyond the warranty period of 23 days?

  • HP Officejet 6500 a Plus the copier function

My Copier works on HP Officejet 6500 ceased to operate. any ideas what is wrong? Thank you

You get errors when you try to copy?  The printer attempts to make the copy and produce output empty?

Have you tried to do a hard reset of the printer?

Unplug the unit when turned on

Disconnect the other end of the power cord from the wall jack directly

    * Wait 30 seconds

    * Plug the unit back to

If the printer is say copy, but doing nothing while the printer is in a blocked State.  There is a document with additional troubleshooting steps when a printer is out of order.  The document can be accessed here.

If these steps do not get the printer to a State to make copies of back, then you can try also to restore the printer to a factory State.  This is known as reset and there are specific instructions on how to do it for this model of printer.  I will send this information to you via private messages.  Please check your Inbox.  Before you run the reset instructions, read the Bob_Headrick wire on the printer resets that can be found here.

  • Setting up my HP Officejet 6500 has more the Question: first install the disc?

    Hi all!

I was wondering if I should install the disc that came with my HP 6500 has more printer FIRST before connecting it to the top wireless? Or connect upward wireless first before installing the drive?

I saw somewhere where the plug & play when the connected printer caused some problems that did not accept the disc that came with the printer it seemed to replace the drive.

Any help would be appreciated before doing anything with the hook to the top of my new printer.

    Thank you!

If you connect the USB printer that the answer is YES.

First run installation, during installation, you will be asked to connect the USB cable, then only, you need to connect.

    Kind regards

    Shlomi

  • OfficeJet 6500 connects to the computer with a usb cable.

He has connected with a usb cable attached with no problems at all, but it has just stopped working suddenly. There is no error message, it does not simply read the printer any port it is connected to. The printer itself seems to work fine - I can make copies with her, and there is no problem I know with the computer. I tried to install wireless, but there need to be connected all first and I tried to buy a new usb cable, but it did make a difference. I'm on a PC - a Compaq laptop. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    A few ideas:

    1. do not go through a USB hub, plug directly into a port on your PC.

    2. make sure that the USB cable is plugged into the appropriate to the back of the printer port (it will come indeed in the Ethernet port, but obviously will not work here).

3 restart the printer and the PC.

  • HP Officejet 6500 - scan of the computer has disappeared on my Win 7 machine and does not exist on my Win 8

    On my Windows 7 machine:

I used to be able to start "scan my computer" page printer to my control panel, but this feature has been moved (again), perhaps due to an update. Where can I find this feature?

On my Win 8.1 machine, where can I find a scan of the computer? Currently, I have to use an application of scan user interface modern stupid I have donloaded and installed from other Windows store. I would really like to scan to computer back.

In fact, I have to pay extra if someone could invent a computer that works the same way on the day the day.  I'm getting a little tired of playing with technology (PCs, iPhones, etc) all suffer a 100% failure rate.

Hi ou81aswell, welcome to the forums.

I saw your post about losing your computer option scan. I have some suggestions for you. I can't guarantee a difficulty, however, of course I'll try!

On your Windows 7 machine and your machine Windows 8.1: run the HP printer install wizard for Windows which will install the appropriate drivers.

In addition, reset the printer and make sure it is plugged directly into a wall outlet. Avoid power bars, etc.

    Let me know what happens!

    Kind regards

  • My officejet 6500 e709n makes the sound of printing but nothing comes out on the page. thoughts?

I replaced the ink cartridges, cleaned the print head, turned switch, unplugged for a reset and reinstalled on my computer (Mac OSX 10.5.8).

Nothing seems to be a problem with the printer visually - not clear jams oddities in the internal mechanisms.  He just "pretended" to print.

Some error messages I received early in the troubleshooting process has suggested that ink cartridges are not compatible with the device (they are) and a warning to use the power button before turning off the power.

There are more messages on the screen - complete just the icons of ink.  Everything seems normal.

    Thanks for your time!

Try the steps in this troubleshooting page.

  • HP Officejet 6500 - failure of the program

I seem to have this problem with ALL my computers. That means that I tried on a XP computer, two Vista computers, and a Windows 7. This problem appears EVERY time.

So I can print (from my computer windows 7) without the necessary drivers. However when I try the driver he appears as the wireless can not be found! I would like to be able to use the scanner function, I'm an artist, so it would be wonderfully helpful. I bought this printer because it had a scanner.

It will ask you the IP address of the printer, I'll put it (correctly) and he'll STILL say it does not find my printer. I'm puzzled.

I have disabled all firewall, there is nothing blocking the printer.

I don't have a cord. I bought this printer for the wireless fuction.

It all started one day when all computers stop printing house, I think it's a problem of hardware synchronization, maybe how to reset my printer (hard reset, not only turn off my power) would do the trick. I don't know, but it makes me completely crazy and makes me not want to buy a HP printer again: T
