HP officejet 6600: print head seems to be missing, not detected, or incorrectly installed

does not print hp officejet 6699 - gives message "print head seems to be missing, not detected or installed incorrectly."

I unplugged the instructions and it does not work.

I replaced all the cartridges, and it does not work.

It is more than one year warranty and I do not know where to take.

I didn't have to buy a new one immediately.  The life expectancy of an all-in-one now is about 2 years old?   Can someone tell me what to try?  Thank you!

He looking as if the printhead has moved or is not seated correctly in the printer? Try to gently move it and it sits evenly.

There is an update to the firmware of your device which can help. You can find it here.

Thank you very much

Before the storm, I had installed 2 new ink cartridges. My troubleshooting efforts consisted of unplug the printer from the power source and plug back and removing ink cartridges / resettlement. I always get the error message "printhead".

    Hello

I think you did everything I would have tried.

Even if unplug you the printer, I wonder did you leave it unplugged for more than 15 seconds.  See the link

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c03750651

If this does not resolve the problem then I think it would be appropriate contact HP because this printer is probably still under warranty.

    Hope this helps somehow.

  • OfficeJet 6600: print head

I'm having with my printhead on my Officejet 6600 I bought a little over a year.  I had to replace the print head twice on my last HP printer.  Is this a common problem with Officejet printers?   I don't know if I should replace the print head or buy another printer from another manufacturer?

    Hello

OfficeJet 6600 doesn't have a replaceable print head.

IAM surprised to read in your post that you had replaced the printhead twice.

Problem with printhead would lead to service the printer.

  • OfficeJet Pro X476W - missing 0xc6fd0013 message, or incorrectly installed print head not detected,

Hi, everything has been good with this printer up to a couple of days. Whist, the right kind of noises - it just stopped printing, or sometimes {in response to requests for print) spat a blank page or both.

I tried to clean the print head, but he travels just a loop and does nothing, if the wall point, deleted and reinserted cartridge, removed market turned and replaced the duplex roller, blah blah - all the usual stuff.

But... I've never seen such a script error before - this is worrying. The printer just died on me?

If so, is it possible to replace the printhead on one of them?

No indication of how to solve the problem please?

    Thanks in advance...

I couldn't find a service manual for the OJ Pro x476w or the other.  It is usually the case for OfficeJet products but I was under the assumption that HP was poised to release a service manual for the X Pro series since his business are more than the normal OJ.

I also don't seem to be able to view the guide to normal use of the HPs site right now.  My hope was to search through it for clues as to how to complete the resettlement of the print heads, as there is usually a section small maintnenance included in the documentation.

Given the nature of this problem and what I heard of HP engineers that the printhead from the printer table must have a life that survives to the printer.  It is supposed to be enough printheads on eachother table backup in the case of breakdowns that users are not supposed to notice the difference.  Even through the printer is out of warranty HP may be interested in helping you with the picture of the print head.  I give them a call and see if they can offer any assistance.

Another idea would be to find a seller of parts and ask them if they have an array of replacement for your printer print head.  If they could have some instructions on how to install that you could use to reinstall your current table.  Googling autour, I was not able find parts online so this is perhaps a good reason to call HP and ask for suggestions on where to find spare parts.

  • HP Officejet 6600 print wireless help

Attempt to try to solve my HP Officejet 6600 to print wirelessly on my network and I tried just about everything I could think of (including the rattling of my printer on the network to see if they are on the same network, they are) and my printer still does not recognize any signal from my computer trying to get a print of my computer job. I have already confirmed that my printer working via a USB cable, but I wish I could put my printer to another room, connected to a power source and be able to print to it outside of my network, but not luck so far. Can someone help with this problem?

My OS is Windows 7 Edition Home Premium SP1, if this is useful.

    Review of my last post...

Wow, regardless of the Printer Spooler service has been, which seems to have done the trick. Also went and made a new WiFi printer (when the USB cable is installed), and it was labeled differently. Somewhere in one of the configuration menus had something on this subject (assuming it's a hostname?) It said HPB96E1W (HP Officejet 6600). It was also the name of the printer that appeared when I installed it as wireless under printers and faxes. When I did as just a USB connected printer, it appears just as "HP Officejet 6600". Maybe a problem of labelling or something to do with the Printer Spooler service? No idea honestly but the printer works now move it to another part of the House as long as it captures my wireless signal. This problem is completely resolved, and I have also 2 different connections to work with incase I ever spend my printer back near my computer. Thanks to all who have posted in this thread with ideas help, much appreciated. Moderators or anyone who may lock this thread if they wish. I'll post another thread one day if I have problems with the printer again.

  • OfficeJet 6500: Print head cleaning Cycle - why not choose a color?

I'm having a problem with a single color (magenta) print does not correctly. I've had problems before with black. Why the prinhead cleaning cycle does not allow the selection of a single color for cleaning? Why should I lose the other colors of ink when there is only one that needs to be cleaned? I know that HP wants to sell ink, but be reasonable! That I had problems that appear only after you HAVE installed a new ink tank. And it has not shown using a cartridge to power after best-use-by-date. My guess is that if the ink cartridges are not stored properly the use-by-date means nothing.

There are a few components of the automatic cleaning cycles.  There are a set of wiper rubber that moved across the printhead to wipe or scrape debris from the print head.  All wiping little ink is spit of each nozzle to lubricate the wiper and help clear the clogged nozzles. The wiper is built on a unique sled with a motor that moves the wipers back and forth.  Allowing single color cleaning would require a much more complicated mechanical system, with four distinct and motors wipers to control.  (The wipers should be dedicated for each color.  She would cause the nozzle clogging if the black ink is allowed to mix with the color and would cause if different colors used the same color mixing wiper.)

Similarly, for your Officejet 6500, there is a pump system for a more energetic cleaning or for initial priming of printhead.  If it was designed for a single use of color, then a more complicated system, with four independent pumps and controls.

A Mater of reliability and economics, it is not practical to have separated in level printers cleaning cycles.

  • OfficeJet Pro print heads

What are they and what are doing. When they need to be replaced?

The print head is the distribution of ink system and is responsible for the ink being sent to the current page. Older printers integrate the print heads (IPH), meaning that the print head is part of the cartridge. Separated ink print heads to prolong life, because it allows the ink supply remaining a fixed position and allows a greater amount of ink to be stored in cartridges.  It also means that since they are not included as in older printers that if a print head needs to be replaced that ink will not be thrown.

If a print head needs to be replaced there will be an error message, or print quality is unacceptable even after everything from troubleshooting to solve the problem have been tried. most printers have the ability to print a page of diagnosis with test models to assess the health of the print head and if cleaning must be performed.
