HP Officejet J4580: printer connect not desktop
Printer goes offline intermittently. Some pages are printed, and then it stops and I get error messages that there is no connection between the computer and the printer. I rebooted, check the updates of pilot, checked the cables and reinstalled (attempted) using a newly purchased HP disc. The cable is connected and the usb port works as I tried the other cable to be tested. The unit is plugged. Both devices are turned on. I get screens to print the test page; says it's printing, but nothing is being printed. On the page of the printer and devices, the device presents itself as printer and fax.
It is a connected desktop computer, printer to the computer, without looking for wireless printing. My ISP is Comcast.
Try the driver full features. (link)
Uninstall the HP driver software.
Unplug the printer.

OfficeJet J6450 - printer connects wireless but does not print job cable modem replacement
Material: My printer is an OfficeJet J6450. I am running Windows Vista, current update.
Probably triggering the event: I replaced my modem docsis 3.0 with a doscis 2.0 modem. PSI has remained the same. All other software and firewall remained the same.
Dysfunction: After the replacement of cable modem, I found that I could print is no longer in my HP OfficeJet 6450. I would get an error in the printer window ' error - print. " After the reboot after the publication of the initial error, I would get the error "error - sent to the printer.
What I did:
As a first step, I've uninstalled and reinstalled the HP software for the printer (complete package with exception of PhotoSmart and HP customer monitoring program).
Use the connection for the network printer wizard, I entered the router password wireless to the printer. At first I don't have a connection. Then I rebooted the computer and the printer. I also returned to the default setting of network on the printer and repeated the configuration of the network. The connection was finally successful.
The automatic test of the network page and the network printer wizard confirms the connection. Digital display of the printer and the HP diagnostic utility has also confirmed the connection. But the diagnostic utility is unable to print a test page and throw an error - "Print Test failed.
The result disappointing: I still can't anything to print wireless.
... Thanks in advance for your suggestions to get my printer back on...
Go to start > Control Panel > printers and delete all instances of the printer.
Then re-add the printer:
1. make sure the printer is on and connected to your network. Verify that you can access the printer's internal web page by accessing its IP address before continuing. Get IP address of a Test of Netowork wireless on the front of the printer (usually in the network menu).
2. click on > start > Control Panel > printers.
3. click on add a printer
4. Select local printer
5. Select create a new port and select Standard TCP/IP Port, and click Next.
6. under device type, select TCP/IP Device. Under the name of host or IP address, enter the IP address of the printer. Click Next.
7. Select Hewlett-Packard in the list of manufacturers and select and select your printer model. Click Next.
If your printer model is not in the list, then select disk provided, browse the CD that came with your HP printer and select the first file begins with hp and ending with INF. click Open, then OK. Select your printer model. Click Next.
8. If prompted, use the driver that is currently installed.
9. He will ask the name of the printer - enter a new name or use the one existing. This will be the name of the printer that you select from other applications.
10. we may ask you to share the printer. Choose No.
11. the printing area of Test Page is displayed. Go ahead and print it out.
12. click on finish. -
HP OfficeJet 5740: printer connected to the internet
Hello!
So I recently got the Officejet printer and I was not able to connect it to my computer.
I live in the dorms of my college and internet needs to go to a website and log as long as student.
I don't know not to connect to the internet.
Help?
Hello
Please contact your network administrator. In many dorm environments, administrators will not allow students install printers wireless on the uni/College networks. I myself would not install printers on this environment because people can use easy my printer to print their documents. Again, you have need to talk with your network admin how to connect (if you were smoking to) your printer safely.
Good luck.

OfficeJet 6815: printer does not print
I connected my hp officejet 6815 to my wireless network which worked perfect. It says it is connected to my network and the blue light on the front is solid. I ran a report of diagnosis of network printer itself and it comes up saying everything's fine. You can print wireless cell phones very well without a problem, but when I go to print from my laptop it will not be sent to the printer. I installed the hp software that came with it on the laptop and installed it and told me that the printer was ready to go. When I print a document (the printer status says ready on the screenshot) nothing comes out. There is no error message on the computer or the printer or the other. I restarted the printer, computer and router wireless to try to solve the problem. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the software several times. Hp troubleshooting Web site did no good and I followed the multiple links with instructions without result.
What version of Eset are you running?
Try temporarily disabling the Eset.

When I send a document to the printer; It shows in the print queue, but does not print. When I restart my computer, the document will print.
The same thing happens whenever I have send a document to the printer. I have a WiFi connection from my laptop to the printer. The blue icon on the printer lights indicating that plugged.
Why does only work when the computer is restarted? I ran the HP Support Assistant, and it does not find the printer; even if the printer seems to find the computer once I restarted the computer.
It's embarrassing to say and I'm not very technical interest. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Hi @Maggie78
Thank you for your patience.
You can try the following:
Creating a TCP IP port
1. print a Configuration Page to get the printer IPv4 address (you can also tap on the icon wireless on the front panel of your printer to obtain the IP address)
2. on your PC, go to the Panel control, devices and printers, right-click the printer and on the left, click printer properties, select the Ports tab.
3. click Add Port, select the Port TCP/IP Standard, then New Port and follow the instructions in the wizard.
4. Enter the IP address of the printer.Note that you can ALWAYS go back to the original port the HP software installed by selecting the HP port on the Ports tab (in the properties of the printer)
Hope that helps!

All-in-one OfficeJet J5780 printer does not print manual duplex
Hi all
first of all, sorry for my bad English; I'm Italian and the Italian Forum, I can't find anything that can help with my problem.
I use my old (and wise... ;-)) OfficeJet J5780 on my laptop with MS Windows 7 SP1 64 bit for years without any problem. In particular, I use the option to manually print on both sides; This means that, once selected this option, the printer automatically prints odd pages in reverse order, and then a pop up tell me to take the papers printed, rotate and load them again; then I click OK and print even pages in the right orders.
Suddenly after any event special, for a few months, or even I select this option, the printer prints the odd pages and then nothing happens on my pc, no pop-up window appears, the printing process remains in the coil and I can not the printer to print even pages too. The only way is to remove the process, clean the spooler and restart it.
I also installed the latest version of the drivers and all of the full package of the HP software, but the problem is still there.
As a solution, I apply manually print the odd pages in reverse order first, then same pages, but it's really a mess...
Could someone help me?
Thank you very much.
Hi Phoenix69,
If this is the case then itreally could be drivers.
You can follow this link to completely uninstall the old software and then use this tool to automatically install the correct software for your computer.
Thank you!

My Officejet 6600 printer does not illuminate.
My 6600 Officejet was bought on Amazon in December. It worked perfectly until yesterday. A few days ago, I printed some photos and they are fine. Yesterday I noticed it was off, so I tried to rurn it and it wouldn't. I did all the stuff with the power supply without success. I got a notice that the ink was running down a few days ago, but now I can not check the cartridges because they will not be displayed.
