HP OJ 8610 Questions

I have a few questions.

I am looking to buy an Officejet 8610 for a Home Office. He needs to connect through a VPN for software hosted in our main centre.

To do this, I need to ensure that this printer supports IPP (internet printing protocol) AND the drivers are PCL5. Can someone check it does. I was unable to find it on the data sheet of the printer. I know that 90% of printers on the market right now, but I need to be certain.

Thank you

Hi, so I recently set up my 8610 and used the wireless option. I want only ME as the only user of this printer wireless. When I install, however, he only asked for the IP address of the printer, which is located in my computer control panel (when scanning for devices to add) addition to the Panel of the printer itself. So my question is, can anyone with any WiFi access my printer and print stuff on it, given that they have the right drivers? If this is not the case, what exactly is the security feature because I seem to detect a. Only computers that connect to the specific wifi that uses the printer can access? What exactly are the other limits people to just use?

I also see the direct wireless option, which is an IMPRESSIVE safety feature, but it seems that I have to cut my current WiFi to be able to print it is out of the picture.

I use that laptop / no need to print from mobile or whatnot. Thank you very much

    Hello

The HP wireless Direct inded option require to connect network printer.

The HP printer will be available for any device connected to the same network as the printer, assuming that your wireless network is protected by word - that limit other users access to the printer, as they can not connect to your wireless network.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8610: Cannot remove my printer

    Hi all

I tried to remove my printer (it did not work, so I tried to reinstall).

I went into the control panel of configuration/printers, then right-click on my printer and press 'delete device '. The icon became gray and it has been like this for 3 days now. You can see on the bottom, it says ' status: removing device "."  I can't reinstall (does not recognize the printer).

How can I get rid of this?

I uninstalled all the HP software and delete a bunch of registry entries on the 8610. It's still there...

    Thanks for your help!

Welcome to the HP community @Felix_B,

I read your post about the troubles you are experiencing remove the printer from your Windows 10 system, and I hope that I can help you with questions. I think it could be stuck print jobs in the print queue, so recommend some things to try to get over there.

Please start by trying the following steps:

    Step 1: Check print spooler:

    source

    1. Open your screen to Start by clicking the Windows button on the lower left side of your computer screen or by selecting the Windows key bottom left of your keyboard, to the right of the Ctrl key
    2. In the start screen, type run
    3. Click Run to launch the run dialogue box
    4. In the run box, type services.msc and click OK
    5. When the Services window opens scroll down until you see the print spooler
    6. Click Print Spooler once just to highlight
    7. If you Start in the upper left corner that indicates that your print spooler is actually stopped (not good). But we will leave that for now.
    8. If you stop or restart in the upper left corner, this indicates that your print spooler is actually started. Please click on stop to stop the service momentarily.
    9. Reduce this window which will allow us to come back here

Step 2: Check the spooler folder:

    1. Reopen your splash screen
    2. Computertype. Click on the computer (or on This PC) when it fills so
    3. In the computer window, select your Drive C
    4. Click on Windows
    5. Click on System32
    6. Click on the reel
    7. Click PRINTERS. You can get permissions to a warning, just continue beyond that.
    8. PRINTERS of the folder must be empty. If there is no file here, they are corrupt print jobs. Right click on anything in that folder and 'delete' files.
    9. Close the PRINTERS folder

Step 3: Start Spooler and audit dependencies:

1 open the Services window we previously minimized

    2. click on print spooler to highlight

    3. click on Start in the upper left corner

    4. If you get an error message please take note of this

    5. If the print spooler starts successfully you will see "stop and restart" as your options at the top left

    6. then, double left click on print spooler. A print spooler properties window is now open. Click the connection tab at the top. Can you please make sure that it is set to Local System account and make sure that the check box is selected to "Allow the Service to interact with desktop".

    7. then click on the tab "dependencies". Please check which dependencies are listed. I need to know this if the problem persists when you have completed the steps I provide in this post.

    8. click on apply and OK for any changes that you have made the log tab. Close the Services window.

Now try to access devices and printers and try to remove the printer.

I hope this helps, and if you have problems, please let me know and I'll do my best to help you. If these steps helped to solve the problem, click Accept as button Solution at the end of my post here please.

  • HP officjet 8610 pro prints bad fonts

I just installed the HP Officejet Pro 8610, (all in one).  When I print http://www.monrovia.com/plant-catalog/plants/3037/black-lace-elderberry/of the screen, color fonts (headings) print in a kind of unreadable police.  When I print the same screen of my HP Officejet H470 everything prints correctly.  When I run HP Diagnostics it tells me that everything is installed properly with the latest version of the software.  I am running windows 8.1.  How can I get the correct font to print?

    Hi @elarch,

Your printer uses PCL3 GUI, I checked with the user guide. With this language, the printer does not support downloadable or scalable fonts

-Source: HP Deskjet, Officejet from HP, HP, HP Business Inkjet color inkjet - 3 PCL and PCL 5/6 functions and different...

The question is perhaps the police itself. Something you can try is to download a different print driver. I wonder if the driver for 8600 will behave differently than the 8610.

How to assign other print in different Versions of Windows drivers.

    The link above will guide you through the steps to assign a different print driver, I ask that you choose the 8600 if available, and if not, you can install the base driver 8600 here;

    OJ8600_Basicx64_1315.exe- for 64-bit operating systems

    OJ8600_Basicx86_1315.exe- for 32-bit operating systems

Is my version of 32-bit Windows or 64-bit?

Please let me know the results of your efforts. Thank you. I cross my fingers.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8610: 8610 plugged Ethernet think he lost the connection but eventually prints

I have a 8610 connected to 2 PCs; USB, an ethernet.  The ethernet connected printer is configured on the PC as a network printer.   When we print the Ethernet connected PC sometimes it prints immediately and we sometimes these messages:

When we get the messages the printer has his light and isn't in offline mode I can find.    If we simply not do whatever it is, the printer communicates eventually and the job will print.

Anyone know why this is happening and how to fix it?

Note: we had this PC configured to print wireless but had long delays in printing that indeed.   It's faster with ethernet connection is operating properly.

    Hello tilzie,

    Welcome to the HP Forums.

The issue you described concerning the communication of the question, it looks like that is having a problem of recovery since printers sleep/standby mode.

First of all, please make sure that you have the printer power cable connected directly to a wall outlet and not a bar/power strip. Here is a document that uses a LaserJet printer for example, but it is intended for HP products in general. Please click the link which explains the problems when connected to an uninterruptible power supply/Strip/surge protector power.

I also suggest that we run the HP print and Scan Doctor.  I would like to know if the doctor fails, or if you see the error codes.

    See you soon,.

  • 8610 printer it's paper does not print

My 8610 printer all in one, think it's out of paper.  I turned it off several times and rebooted my Pc. runnint windows 7.

Hi mindy, sorry to hear you are having some trouble getting your printer doesn't work.

There are a few steps, I recommend you. Even when the paper is loaded in the unit, it may not feed correctly if the paper in the printer driver settings need to be adjusted, or if the paper feed / pick roller is impure. You can read how to do these steps in Solutions 2 and 3 of this guide: LINK

However, to perform a hard reset also to solve this error - you can do this by turning off the unit, unplug the power cord from the socket for a minute, and reinsert the power cord before turning the unit back on.

Please let me know if any of these solutions helps. I want to help answer any questions you may have along the way.

    Forward to your response.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8610: Officejet Pro 8610 wireless printer is constantly busy and does not update the software drivers.

I'm trying to update my printer via the steps outlined on the HP website. However, when identify my printer and try to install the revised version of the software of my printer continually says its busy. This means that the printer will not update.

When I first tried this software update the status of the printer was ready however after failing at the start of this first attempt each following update failed because the printer is busy. I turned he walks several times and even turned off then the option automatic updates with no luck.

Without being able to change that status, I can't update the printer. I know that it is able to connect to the network, because it checks and tells me that he has the latest software version available fo, so I am very confused as to how I can fix this.

    Any suggestions?

Hey @Branthwaite, welcome to the Forums of HP! I'd love to help you update your JO 8610.

From your description, I understand that you cannot refresh the printer as it is stuck in the free/busy information.

We will perform a hard reset. To do this, leave the printer and unplug the power cable for 1 minute. While it is unplugged, press and hold the power button on the printer for 10-15 seconds to release built his power, then after the minute, plug the printer in. Also, even if you have used a surge protector/power bar this whole time and you feel this isn't the cause, please plug it in to a wall outlet so that we can eliminate the source of energy as the primary cause.   Questions when it is connected to an uninterruptible power supply/Strip/surge protector power
