Pavilion dv6t-7000 QE: upgrade factory ssd for the four edition dv6t-7000
I have a laptop DV6T - 7000 CTO Quad Edition, 64-bit Windows 7, I had configured with a 160 GB SSD from the factory. It works great, very fast, but I want to move to a larger ssd. In looking at a crucial or sandisk pro now, 480 GB or more.
My question: if I use the cloning software that will copy everything to the new ssd, included windows operating system?
I really want to do a complete reinstallation of the operating system that I don't see the need for it. Most likely I will modernize in any case next year to win 10, or whatever they called.
Somehow this update seems easy enough to do, but I want to anticipate any potential isses before we start.
What do you think? This who should I look for? If there is a problem, can I pop just my current ssd right in?
Thank you
Yes he clones above. Choose a proportional resizing of partitions. And Yes, if the clone does not work, you can always pop concert the 160 original. I use Acronis True Image Home 2014 for cloning and it works fine. Some versions of the Samsung 840 and 850 equipped with a migration kit which has the SATA Adapter USB and a CD containing software for disk cloning.
You can also buy a separate kit:

Office Pavilion - 400-540hk: unable to retrieve files from the old desktop USB HARD drive
My old desktop (model: CQ4128HK) can be power on. So I bought a new desktop computer (model: Pavilion Office 400 540HK). I have a lot of important files in my old office, so I bought a SATA-USB enclosure and connect my old hard drive to the new office. However, after connecting the old HARD drive, I can't find my files or windows folders; Instead, I see that a single drive with folders named "Backup-xXXx" or "WindowImageBackup". Please suggest how to recover my files on the old HARD drive. They are very important. Thank you.
Hello
Please try this first: bring the box (old HDD) and connect it to a machine not HP to see how it goes. I remember I have one similar problem in another day; reason: the old HDD still has a "signature" as a boot device.
Kind regards.

Replace the motherboard - HP Pavilion Elite m9402f
HP Pavilion Elite m9402f
AMD Phenom X 4 9650 Quad Core
7 GB DDR2
640 GB HD
NVidia GeForce 6150 SE
Vista 64-bit
I'm looking to replace the mother board is dead. I thought I would check here before you buy it to ask you a few questions.
1 is - that the correct motherboard?
2. I have problems with Vista, recognizing the new motherboard?
3. all other components (CPU, RAM, wireless, card etc) works very well just plugged on the new motherboard?
4. any tips or tricks for the swap I should or need to know, or that it will be simple enough?
Thank you
Installation of a Narra3 motherboard which is not 'tattooed' with your system information will allow the factory OS to comtinue to exploit. The problem occurs when you use your HP recovery disks, the installation will fail. Yes, you can install Windows on a single disc of Windows and it works perfectly. The only problem is that you will not be able to install the HP 'value-added software' device that was originally installed on the computer.

HP Pavilion Elite m9402f PC reformat
Hello.
Can someone tell me how to reformat my computer?
I just want to erase all data that could possibly have virus in there, but I don't want to lose the software such as Adobe, Micrsoft windows and etc, I installed.
Your help would be much appreciated!
Here are the specifications of your desktop HP Pavilion Elite m9402f. According to the specification, this model at the factory with Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 64-bit install. Modern computers, including HP, have a recovery partition and a Windows-based utility that allows you to create recovery discs. I suggest that to use the HP recovery discs, you created when you first set up your computer, send it back to a factory State. If you do not create theses discs, you can be able to recovery your computer using the HP recovery within the window or 'F11' Manager when turn on/off your computer. Please see this HP support document entitled "Perform a recovery of the HP (Windows Vista) system" for detailed instructions on the recovery of your computer.

Dear Experts...
I want to upgrade my computer by adding an SSD as a master drive and move the original 2 TB drive to be a slave.
I found several coices of SSDS, but almost all of them are SATA III interface.
Is my office supports this interface? as it is just written that it has a SATA interface without specifying what version of SATA!
How many hard drives could this office holds? I already have two (the original 2 TB and my old drive 256 GB) and I wand to add a SSD for Windows and the progs.
Can I purchase this SSD for example? Samsung Electronics 840 EVO-series 500 GB 2.5 inch SATA III single-unit Version internal Solid State...
It is the official my desktop HP specifications page .
Thanks in advance for your help.
Hello
It has 2 bays free HARD disk as on its specifications:
http://h20564.www2.HP.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docid=emr_na-c02781215
You can trade SSDS on your machine and make the old HDD as a secondary drive ("slave"). SATA III is backwards compatible so you can use it. Since then have been smaller SSD (normally 2.5 "), something that is similar to one of the following media:

HP Pavilion Elite HPE 547c: upgrade graphics card for HP Elite
I tried to replace/upgrade to update my graphics card for my desktop PC. I tried several video cards, but with each one, once it is installed and the computer turned on, the image does not register with the monitor. Everything else seems to work, but the monitor gives no answer. It was only a problem once the original video card has been removed. The current video card, I am trying to install is the NVIDIA GEFORCE GT 730.
In the course of the years, I added a memory and the power supply has been upgraded, but all the rest are always original parts (http://support.hp.com/us-en/product/HP-Pavilion-Elite-HPE-Desktop-PC-series/5035344/model/5074426/do...
Is this a problem with the other parties, who will need to be replaced or is there something else I forget?
Thank you.
Hello
You're dominant, in your case, the most important factor-BIOS compatibility... more recent maps, like the gt730, require the UEFI BIOS to run... you have a LEGACY BIOS system, and cannot do anything, unless you change your motherboard... your pc is a model of early 2011... UEFI standard HP in their systems of end of 2012...
You can watch other maps, if... the 700 series card youre looking at is a maxwell model 2014... There are in this region that come with a feature of hybrid bios which offers wider compatibility on legacy systems... or you can look at maps more old pascal/fermi architecture that work exclusively on legacy BIOS systems...
Hope this helps

Compatible SSD for Tecra A8-133
Hello
I have a Tecra A8-133 (PTA83E-0E403MBT).
To give a kick to my aging laptop, I bought a corsair SSD GTX neutron. Unfortunately, after
many attempts and a support of corsair, it seems that the SSD is not compatible with this TECRA.I'm ready to buy a new one, but of course, I want to be 100% sure that the SSD is compatible for now.
How can I find a list of compatible devices for this laptop?
Like a laptop SATA 1, I know the performance will be held, but I do not like.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you
Hello
What s wrong exactly?
I found that some specifications of the mentioned Corsair SSD and it seems that the SSD is designed to support the latest high-speed standard SATA III (6 Gb/s).
But it s seems to be completely backward compatible with SATA II and SATA I. It should be compatibleTo my knowledge there is no no special info about the compatibility of diving SDS.
In some cases, manufacturers of SSDS provides a drive SSD firmware updates and sometimes this update helps resolve some problems. -
Pavilion p6 - 2127c: video card Compatible hdmi for Pavilion p6 - 2127c
I have a Pavilion p6 - 2127c in my conference room, desktop computer connected to a TV 50 "flat on the wall. I would like to connect using an HDMI cable, but there is no HDMI port. What type of video card should I buy that is compatible with the office and for the videos and presentations (no game)? Thank you in advance for your help!
Cmann225, welcome to the forum.
Here is a video card that should work with your computer. However, you should check ASUS website to find out what power supply unit (PSU) is necessary. It indicates that 75W is required, but it is the power supplied by the PCI Express x 16 slot. This means that there is no need an additional power connector. The power supply of the computer is 300W. Also, check to make sure that the card does not require UEFI in the motherboard instead of a standard BIOS with ASUS.

This post pretty much answers your question, too:
However, the hard drive on your model is much easier to go to:
Page 49.
I recommend the Samsung 840 Evo SSD. The price is usually very good and performance is also very good.

HP EliteBook 8730w: replacement of SSD for the boot drive not recognized
I'm trying to install a Samsung SSD 840 EVO 500 GB instead of the original 500 GB HDD in my Elitebook 8730w (product no. VF889PA #ABG). The 8730w has the latest BIOS (F.20) installed and that is running Windows 7 Professional 32-bit (fully patched).
When it is connected to the laptop through a USB adapter, to clone the HARD disk image. the SSDS works correctly. Cloning through data Migration Samsung is reported as a success, and the image of the C:\ drive occupies approximately 153 GB. The image of the disc does not include the partition of 1 GB dedicated to HP_TOOLS, due to a known limit of the Samsung software supplied.
When it is installed in the HARD drive Bay. the SSD is not recognized as a drive and does not appear in the list of startup options. The available boot options only shown are the DVD or a network boot.
would be very grateful for any advice on the steps required to successfully install the Samsung SSD as boot drive.
Hmmm.
Honestly no, I'm not happy with this one. If it was my machine, I'd be a little concerned about whats the corner of the street. In view of the age, is not surprising really, things wear out over time, the mere fact of electronics.
Search through everything you have posted, all photos, pdf, all the text double checking. I am absolutely puzzled as to what happened. If you 100% does not reinstall the hard disk between the posts above where no HARD drive is detected in the menu boot options for the post below that where the HARD drive is detected in the same menu. I would say that you have a problem with either, the ssd, the computer motherboard laptop or the small connector on the sata port, I think on these is integrated on the motherboard, so it seems that your advice is doubtful.
If his works now, great... but be aware that your machine can fail at some point in the near future. And it looks like a defect of the motherboard, other things are probably waiting to fail.
There is no reason whatsoever your laptop must not have seen this ssd at first startup. A HARD drive is a HARD disk, if its compatible sata, then it will work, no doubt. When he is not on an older machine, its probably a sign of a faulty component.
Looking through your bios options, I recommend the following.
On startup options, get rid of internal nic pxe boot, that will only slow your machine at startup as it will seek for a network bootable device. This is the message that you get at startup saying Media Test Failure, this page is preventable with this option disabled.
Less built lan/wlan switching on enabled in the options of the terminal, also change. This means that if you use wifi at home for example and you decide to plug in a cable network directly to the router to speed up the connection, it will not pass if it is not defined, you will have to do it manually. I work in a large company and the number of people who have this option is unreal. They all assume when they are docked they will on the wired connection.
Because we are here too, if you ever have problems with a flickering screen, first thing to try, is disable the ambient light sensor which is just below this option of switching. Its fine on normally, but its quite common on 8560p for this causes a flickering screen.
Hope that helped. Good luck in what you decide to do with the machine
