HP Pavilion Notebook - 15-ab20: HP Pavilion Notebook - 15-ab206no does not start

Hi, bought my Pavilion Notebook 15-ab206no last week. Worked fine until I went to turn it on this morning... nothing!

LED light is orange by the AC adapter cord but other than nothing. Tried to remove the battery, running only on the AC adapter / CC and other obvious solutions, but still nothing. What should I do? The bloomin' thing is new, so I doubt that something wrong with cord or battarey West.

  • Pavilion DV6-2140ED: Pavilion DV6: 10 Windows does not start after the upgrade memory (4 GB-> 8 GB)

After I upgraded the RAM in my HP DV6 from 4 GB to 8 GB (2 x 4 GB Kingston KTA-MB1333 / 4G), Windows no longer starts. I get a blue screen and it keeps restarting.

I think that the memory specifications are similar to the Samsung M471B5673EH1-CH9 original memory: Ghz 1333, non - ecc, 1.5 volts, case latency 9 etc.etc.

    It's a laptop DV6-2140ED HP with a processor Intel i5 - 430 m and Intel mobile chipset HM55.

The bios detects 8 GB and it also passes the check/test of memory. As far as I know that I have also installed the latest bios firmware: F.1D. Reinstall my Windows 10 64 bit does not work either: with 8 GB I also get blue screens, after I try to boot my Windows 10 bootable USB drive.

I read other people having the same problem, but I have not read a solution yet. What can we do about it?

    Hello:

Please see this discussion.  You buy a very specific memory for any HP laptop with Mobile Intel 5 series chipset.

  • HP Pavilion P6-2496ea: Pc does not start, no startup screen is

    Hello
I have a HP Pavilion with D7B29EA #ABU product number and model number P6-2496ea.

I tried to run a repair on a HARD disk that was connected externally, it was taking too long so I cancelled the process and rebooted my PC.

The reboot took much too long, so I forced shut down the system. Then I tried to turn on my PC, but it does not reach the power upward.

When I tried to turn on my PC, I noticed the following:
-no screen, just a screen black (I tried different video output on the PC, but with the same result, no video)
-LED 'on' which starts as amber and then turns to blue flashes only on amber.
-by turning the HARD drive and the fans are running.

I tried to reset the BIOS to factory settings, but not joy.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Hi all

After some research, I came to a conclusion that the above symptoms were caused due to a corrupt BIOS.

I run a BIOS reset procedure several times but only started to notice results after 24 hours a BIOS reset.

Reset method for those who do not know the BIOS, please see the steps below:

    1 turn off the machine.

2 - remove all the USB connections of the machine (the keyaboard dongle and mouse apartment)

3 - Unplug the power to the system.

4 - with the cable disconnected, amd press hold the power button on your machine for 3-5 seconds.

5 - Remove the battery from the motherboard BIOS.

    6. remove the jumper from pins 1-2 amd put on pins 3-5 (for HP Pavilion p6-2496ea, for other models please refer to the manual of the motherboard).

    7. usually you leave the machine in this State for 15-20 minutes and then follow the rest of the instructions. If a reset of 20 minutes work try a reset 8 or 24 hours (leaving the machine with the reset jumper on).

    8 - Mount the batery.

    9. remove the jumper to reset the pins and fit the default PIN, 1-2.

    10-card sector in the system.

    11. turn on the machine, you should have a boot system.

I hope the above helps you guys, it certainly worked train me.

    Good luck.

  • Pavilion dv-6 3216 does not start

I'm trying to upgrade my Pavilion dv-6 3216 with a SSD 240G PNY. First thing I did was to create a set of system restore disks. Then I swapped the mechanical original 320G with the SSD drive.

Then, I started the system using the recovery disk and used the Recovery Manager to restore the system to the SSD. The process went through all 7 DVD without error. At the end a message came to remove any recovery media while the system complete the recovery process.

After clicking 'continue' the computer restarted, but he no more than a black screen with a cursor to underscore flashing in the upper left corner. I waited at least 30 minutes, nothing else has happened. I turned off the computer and restarted but it's the same thing. I went into the Boot Manager to ensure that the system was booting from the internal drive and got the same black screen.

I gave the original mechanical hard drive and start Windows 7 system as before. I handed the SSD into the computer and went through the recovery process a second time. Same result - just a black screen with the blinking cursor.

I ran diagnostics on the memory and hard drive and they both pass.

I took the SSD and put it in a box external USB drive and connected to my office. My office can see all the files/folders the recovery process was copied on the SSD drive. Device Manager identifies the primary partition and active.

A ran a scan of disk on the SSD in my office and it shows the disc to be in good health.

So, what gives? Is there a compatibility issue with the SSD? I went into the BIOS but did not find any configuration/settings for hard drives. Is there a requirement for the destination drive of recovery to the brand/ability as well as the original?

Is it possible that the recovery disks are corrupt? It does not seem that so much as there is no problems/errors during the process of creation or the restore process. I would try to create a bootable USB key or another game but the Recovery Manager limit the creative process to 1.

Does anyone else has encountered this problem after replacing their hard drive, either with another mechanical drive or SSD?

    Hello Calgary_BMW,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I see that you have replaced your 360 Go drive (5400 RPM) with a SSD 240 GB and after running the system recovery, are unable to start Windows. It is probably the case because the recovery media is to install the bootloader on the SSD drive even as it was on the HARD drive; pointing the bootloader to another source, which would explain the blank screen and a blinking cursor. If this is the case, that the recovery media won't work, then we are quite limited with options.

Option 1: Purchase a copy of Windows and run a complete Windows installation, which must recreate the bootloader on the SSD and the start of your player. After the installation of Windows, you should be able to run your media recovery and restore of your software.

Option 2: Cloning the mechanical drive of the SSD. This option requires you to connect both the 5400 RPM drive HARD and the SSD at the same time. Your laptop has only support for a SATA connection, so this will require the use of another PC with multi-SATA (any desktop PC) entry. There are a large number of suppliers who provide software to clone the disks, all these can be easily found with a simple Google search.

I would like to know how it works for you.

  • Pavilion dv4: Windows 7 does not start and I can't access the system with f11 recovery

I use a Pavilion dv4. Windows just crashed on a blue screen with a message about physical memory dump. Now when I start the computer it will just a black screen with a blinking cursor to the place when windows normally should start. I can not access the system with the f11 key recovery. I went in with the f2 key diagnostic mode. Diagnostic tests except for the battery test that failed, but shouldn't the laptop to be able to run without a battery if it is connected? And besides, if the problem was the battery, the laptop wouldn't be able to turn on at all, no?

I'm not about to spend all that money on a battery just to know that it is not the battery.

    Hello

If you have the 64 bit rescue CD, you would have received an error if it was bad.

Once you have all your data backup, try the following - which means that Windows has been installed on the C Partition.

Boot from the new rescue CD, select repair your computer and choose the command line.  When this charge, enter the following commands and press on enter after everyone – including spaces as shown.

    Bootrec.exe

    bcdedit/export C:\BCD_Backup

    Boot CD

    BCD attrib s h - r

    Ren c:\boot\bcd BCD.old

    Bootrec /RebuildBcd

    Bootrec /fixmbr

    Bootrec /fixboot

Remove the rescue CD and try to restart now.

  • HP 15-g011nr Notebook PC: laptop does not start. Blue screen then reset

Hello. I am trying to help a friend fix his laptop. for some reason, when starting normally, it will start with a black screen for a good few minutes or so the HP logo will appear with the circles spinning or waiting. After that what seems to be a good 5 minutes it will blue screen. the error reads something like "error loading operating system" or something, but I can't read it because it appears for one second before the reset and start the process again.

I discovered that pressing ESC over and over to the right as I turn it on it will give me options to restore the system and devices to boot, but it does not help much at all. I try to use the CD of windows on it and it does nothing, I even tried to use the CD via a bootable flash drive and nothing. of course, it will say usb IS bootable but when I select it it gives me the HP loading screen and then a black screen. I even tried to wait an hour to see if it is just loading, but nothing.

If anyone has had this problem with this laptop and if so do you know if there is a way to fix it? Thanks in advance.

    Ben

This hard drive works perfectly. The good news for you is that if you have 10 Windows on the old hard drive and it has been activated, you can use the tool for creating Windows 10 media on any computer to do an installation of the full version Windows 10 disc and reinstall Windows 10 and it will activate automatically. It sounds a bit like 'Big Brother', but Microsoft has a profile of each computer enabled with 10 windows and he "knows" your computer by hardware ID or black magic, that we can guess only vaguely. You just need to know if you had 10 Windows Home or Pro (probably home and almost certainly 64bits)

Post back with more questions. You have other HDD and SSD options, as well.
