HP Pavilion Slimline s5212y: my camera to DVD A DH16AAL ATA s5212y Pavilion not recognized in the system after the installation of Windows 10.

After you have installed the free version of Microsoft Windows 10, I realized that my DVD was neither effective nor recognized in Device Manager. Try as I may to address the support of hp in any problems and try to find updates or fixes to the problem, I have since restored my OS to the older operating system to Windows 7.

I would like to know if there is a simple patch patch out there in the community that would allow my DVD-ROM to 'see' if I chose to upgrade to Windows 10?

If there is a "patch" of sorts, I need to have the new operating system installed first?

Hello:

The only suggestion I can offer if you haven't tried these, would be to perform the steps listed in each step resolution 3 or 5 from the link below.   Try them both.

  • CD/DVD-ROM not recognized since the installation of Vista, without errors

Installed Vista and lost CD rom? CD works can be heard during the execution but system will not find CDROM? Deleted upper and filters low but still will not find CD ROM?

    Hello

Step 1: Please do all the same underneath if you did some before as is often total
a process that solves the problem.

Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue
    below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward
cable or slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both
ends. Remove and replace, do not just tight. For laptops, you can often clean power and
contacts data with a pencil eraser.

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and

Step 2: You have disc problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD

  • DVD drive on laptop does not work since the installation of Windows 8

The DVD player on my laptop would not consider movies since I installed Windows 8.  Any ideas what app or service should be addressed to make it work.  I don't know if it is a hardware problem (I doubt it, it worked fine before) or a video software problem.  Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Unfortunately, Windows 8 does not natively support playback of DVD movies.  You need to install a Windows Media Center (no player) or a 3rd party application.

I recommend VLC - a free, open-source media player.  It will play DVD files immediately after installation.  Additional measures must be taken if you have a Blu - Ray player on your device.

    dhobs,

Anguish, that the suffering of the faulty motherboard has been aggravated by your actions. Why you decided to perform a restore (which re - formate the disk, erase all your data files (documents, photos, videos to misic,) is really amazing.)

You had a viable BONE, work and the data store. You he clobbered with recovery. As explained, the 'tattoo' reads the embedded hardware configuration and will stop at the resumption of treatment if it detects a change.

Only temporary help I can offer is to open the computer case and install a small 12v on the NVidia chip fan. IF the chip is not 100% burned, you can earn low enough time to reinstall the operating system and then add the map.

    3. Is detected in Device Manager?

Device Manager provides a graphical display of the hardware installed on the computer, as well as the device drivers and resources associated with this material. Using the Device Manager provides a central point to change the way the hardware is configured and interacts with the microprocessor of the computer.

  • CD or DVD drive is missing or is not recognized by Windows

Original title: another question about the DVD drive is not detected in Windows 7

I have the same problem that many others have described here on the DVDR drive not detected after installing Windows 7. I still have not solved this issue. But I have another similar problem. The system will not recognize an external USB DVDR drive connected to a USB port. In essence, I have no access to the internal drive (in a Dell Inspiron 1545) or the external hard drive. Without access to a DVD player I can't even uninstall Windows 7, and I can not install or save anything else without a drive. I'm at my wits end. If anyone can help I will shower you with praise.

    2. try to connect other USB devices to the computer and check if it is detected.

Try to run the troubleshooter and see if the problem is resolved.

  • My DVD RW disappeared. It is not listed in the Device Manager either.

I tried deleting the upper and lower filters.  That did not work.  He did not allow the reader to turn well.  I opened the computer to check the water and that's fine.  What can I do?  I called the store that installed and they said that the pilots are on VISTA and there was nothing they could do.  I don't know what brand of DVD it is.  On the invoice they have listed black DVD RW.  It has been installed two years ago and has not been used very much.  Thanks for the help.

    Hello

    1 reboot just in case.

Please make all below even if you have done some before as it is often the set of operations which solves

    Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double-click on the device - driver tab - click
Update the drivers (this will probably do nothing) - then RIGHT click the drive - UNINSTALL - REBOOT

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a loose cable or
slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

  • Does anyone have suggestions on what to do when the Windows 7 Installation DVD is not recognized by the DVD player.

I'm trying to do a custom installation of Windows 7 Professional 32 - bit on my Dell Inspiron 530, which is running Windows Vista Home 32 bit.  I ran the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor, which was positive.
