HP ProBook 470 G1: Recommendations HP Support Assistant

HPSA has recently informed me that it is recommended I have install the following SoftPaq: SP64824, SP67047, SP68293, SP63779 and SP66915 on my ProBook 470 G1 laptop. When I try to use HPSA application to download and install the SP, downloads take forever and eventually crash or download timeout. I searched on HP support download page in vain to find MS above to try and download and upgrade and do not use the HPSA application. Can someone direct me to where I can find of MS above driver to download directly on the site of HP?

Looks like a glitch in HPSA. I searched several of these MS and found nothing. They can even be SP who were fired for one reason or another. Not sure why HPSA is always 'return' as available.

  • ProBook 470 1: HP Support Assistant is grayed out option ' Check for updates now ".

My laptop is running HPSA worm 7.4.45.4. 'Check for updates now' tab updates from HP is greyed out. In addition, the HPSA informs me that "the last check for HP updates: never" even if the regular time for the update check has come and gone.

The last update notification was received more than 12 months ago, while the laptop was under warranty. The warranty has expired and I was wondering if this could be the cause of my not being able to check updates 'Check now' or at a scheduled time. Tried to contact HP support, but unless you are under warranty or you have a service contract, it is not possible. Does anyone else have this problem?

N ° it has nothing to do with the status of the guarantee. This will work even if the warranty has expired. The only thing that should be available is updated for your laptop.

Uninstall the current HP Support Assistant verfsion located on your laptop.

Officially, only 128 GB or 256 m2 TLC (SATA, PCIe) readers are supported on HP ProBook 470 G3. However, Crucial says their M.2 MX200 500 GB TLC works fine on the same laptop. Would Samsung 850 EVO 500 GB m2 also work? It is also based at TLC.

  • HP Pavilion: recommendation of HP Support Assistant update

    Hello

HP Support Assistant recommended (today) I installed "RealtekRT28723BE/RT281882EE Wireless LAN Driver udate. Have you tried a couple of times and each time I end u without connecting to the net - had to use a restore point for come back to where I was so I used the WiFi AC. I like to keep things up-to-date on my laptop, so I was wondering what I should do to get this recommended update loaded and still have WiFi connectivity?

    TXS

Okay, I think that the problem is that, as you update the wifi driver using wifi, the connection falls at a point and corrupts files. so my sollution would be to try to download the driver out of his HP and install it "without having to be connected. Here is the link to download the driver

  • Unable to do the updates recommended by HP Support Assistant

I use HP Pavilion m6 with Win7. HP Support Assistant says that there is an important update for Intel My WiFi and wireless drivers for MS Windows 7, which consists of a 206,14 MB file. I downloaded this 3 times now, but it will apparently not be complete the process since the notification back. I get a message that says that the wireless lan and bluetooth are not connected, but Device Manager indicates that they are working properly. What gives?

Hello. I ran into the same problem tonight with several downloads showing that they need to be updated. Whenever I tried to download, it would get stuck on the part of the installation process. Finally, I raised the 'Check for HP updates now' and all of the alerts went off, showing that everything was up-to-date. Not really sure what happened or why...

I first noticed the alerts after having my internet cable and the phone turned back today. I just thought this bc I just got a pop up for my computer need to reboot for updates... I've been reporter restart for a few days and that might have something to do with it also, but that caused no problems in the past.

In any case, I hope this helps you or someone else. Have a good night and God bless!

Welcome to the Community Forum of HP.

HPSA may just be stuck - or perhaps the patch really have not installed.

    Here is the patch:

    sp66562 HP Hotkey V5.0.27.1

Download the patch, install it - if the patch is already installed, it will allow you to know and that you can abandon it.

You can disable the reminder in the HPSA - and you can adjust your HP Support Assistant of notification for this won't surprise you with updates when you're "does not seek":

    • HPSA Set NEVER to update your BIOS

  • ProBook 470 4: G4 470 Probook HD-support

I'm about to order a probook 470 G4 with 256 GB SSD. I want to add the hard drive of my old laptop has died to add some disk space in case I need it (I have the disk anyway). Watching the service manuals for G3 and G4 of the Probook 470 versions I see 2 different numbers for media:

In the G3 manual I see 828147-001, it says in the manual of G4 906002-001. Part numbers for him are however the same for both revisions of the 470. This suggests that it is the same or similar part.

I can't find the number for the G4 online (except Eastern Europe). the G3 version however is available here in the Netherlands. can someone explain the difference? The 828147-001 will fit in the G4?

When all else fails, look at the photos-G4 and G3

Just as I described above, these devices are similar because they are a rectangular metal frame that is screwed on a hard disk of 2.5 inch laptop, but they are different. See how the mounting holes and flanges are different? They mount in the chassis of the laptop in different ways. You could maybe take a set of slender beak clips and remove the small clamps and sealants and make one of these work in space designed for each other, but which would defeat the purpose of firmly bolting the drive hard to the framework so it transfers the shock on the framework and not on your hard drive.

  • HP Probook 470: What is the BIOS administrator Passowrd

I've restored my Probook 470 to the factory settings and ran Windows Update a couple of times bring things up-to-date.

Then I used the built-in HP Support Assistant to check the HP updates. There are a few updates driver including an update of the BIOS. All have been installed except the BIOS update - asking me to enter the "BIOS Password Admiistrator".

What shuold I go home? There is nothing that came with the computer who told me.

OK, thanks for all your answers.

A helpful guy to the HP Support has generated an SMC. BIN file for me (as well as clear instructions on how to apply it). Everything worked well and I now control the Admin BIOS password and have successfully installed the latest version of the BIOS.

A nuisance - I had to install the BIOS manually because HP Support Assistant has a major bug. He pretends to install BIOS but, after Windows restarts, it displays the following window:

"A restart is required to complete the installation of updates"

Whenever I restart the machine, HP Support Assistant does is display the same pop-up window. An endless loop basically.

I solved this by installing the latest version of the BIOS manually and uninstall HP Support Assistant completely from my machine.

  • HP ProBook 470 G2: Problem network - Realtek RTL8723BE 802.11 b/g/n WiFi Adapter

I bought ProBook 470 G2 with pre-installed Win 8.1 Pro and professional office 2013 a few days ago. Today my wireless card started acting weird. I lost the connection in a workplace and when I tried to reconnect I could not find any available network. I checked on my phone - 6 available Wi - Fi networks.

I tried to uninstall and reinstall the card, with or without deletion of software. I reinstalled same OS and started from scratch but still nothing. Sometimes I can connect by Wi - Fi only for a second, then right again.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you in advance,

    Sinisa

    Hi, Sinisa:

See if installing the latest driver for this card solves the problem.

If not, I recommend that you report the problem to HP technical support, if your laptop is still under warranty (which should be if you just).

There is a problem with the card wireless itself.

  • HP Support Assistant Defragent disk running 16 hours and counting...

I bought this HP Pavilion P6755 (Windows 7 64-bit) about two months and it is a great machine to use.  However later I had on two occasions has experienced a blue screen, I thought I could used the pre-installed HP Support Assistant to try to improve the performance of the machine.  Then I started the update and he passed smoothly up to the part of Microsft Windows Disk defragment, where trotted as always...

I tried twice, the first run, I let it go for about 14 hours with no luck. the second time I let the process of development for more than 24 hours and when I came back to check it was still marching tune-up?

I closed this update to half way and started the window of defragmentation tool, and it took less than half an hour to complete the process without any problem at all.

So what is happening with this update under Hp Support Assistant?

I have ensured that the Windows 7 operating system has the latest updates, HP Support Assistant in its latest version.

Another thing so: HP ProBook I use at wwork completes the process of development without problem at all.

Anyone here has the same problem?

My PC has i5 and 1 TB hard drive; I used the HP Support Assistant to perform a check of the HARD drive and that you did not no problem either.

Thanks for any input or possible solution.

    Hello
    Welcome to the HP Forum!

I recommend that you update the HP Support Assistant. Go on the web portal of support for your office and in the software & Drivers section find the update, download and install it. I would have linked directly to the update for you, but you left the last alphanumeric (s) for your office product name identifier.

    Hi @ sokw,

I have read and reviewed the post. Thanks for your reply. It seems that bios is damaged, and that is why the computer does not start. As it cannot be fixed by any software troubleshooting, you will need to contact the HP support by phone for the machine.

HP technical support are available by clicking on the following link:

    (1) once the page opens, please select the country in which you are located. Then enter your model of HP on the right number.

    (2) then choose "Contact the Support" tab at the top and scroll to the bottom of the page "HP Support - contact" to fill out the form with your details.

    (3) Once finished, click the "Show Options" at the bottom right.

    (4) Finally, scroll to the bottom of the page and select "Get a phone number." A file number and telephone number will now fill for you.

  • Should I Uninstall HP Support Assistant? If this is not the case, how to manage settings?

Hi, new and first post so I'm not sure if this is the appropriate place, I hope that someone will tell me otherwise.  Have computer laptop Pavilion G72 9 months with OS Win 7.  I was wondering if I can uninstall HP Support Assistant on it (not really computers does) so that it won't keep coming and wanting to do things - or me for them, do on the computer?  I'm not entirely sure that it's a necessary software and will occupy the space and not something there.  Would really appreciate if someone can advise on this please, thanks in advance for your help.

    Hi @Adam-Williamson.

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

It's a great place to find answers and advice!

You have the best experience in the HP forum, I would like to draw your attention to the Guide of the HP Forums.

I understand that you upgraded to Windows 10 and after a Windows update, you lost your sound. Then, you installed the audio updates recommended the HP Support Assistant that you had been turned off. So you lost your sound, and the function keys did not work.  You then tried a system restore, but now you can not log on to Windows.

I suggest that if you have a Windows 10 image recovery that you use to perform a recovery.  If you do not then a clean install of Windows 10. Here is the link to get Windows 10, click on "use of the media creation tool" and click "perform a new installation using a USB or DVD"

Please let me know the results.
