HP psc 1400: impressions of Test Page after document

Still, my hp psc 1400 prints a test page after the document.  How to disable?

Hi @jhines,

Thanks for joining the Forums of HP Support for a solution to your printing problem.

I understand that you use a printer all-in-one HP PSC 1400 with a Windows 7 computer and a test page is getting printed after each document. I would like to help with that.

This really looks like a software problem. I would like to begin uninstalling printers all software and drivers for the computer. Here is a document of support that can help if you have any questions on how to do it- uninstalling the software of the printer (Windows).

Before installing the software perform a reset of the power on the printer to refresh it.

Then, try to use the HP printer installation wizard to install the software and drivers for the printer. This tool will find the most recent version of the printer software and installation help.

Please let me know if that solves the problem, or if you need assistance.

Indeed, if this help you to achieve a solution please click the 'accept as Solution' and the 'thumbs up' buttons down below in this message.

Thank you!

  • Printer keeps printing a test page after each print document

I have a HP Deskjet 970Cse on Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 3.

About 2 weeks ago, I was receiving ambiguous messages on the ink levels, for example, saying a cartridge was ink when it was not, and after checking and replacement he told me the other cartridge was bad or empty.

I replaced the cartridges with new and error messages went. To test others, I replaced the previous game and they worked well without empty messages.

Then one day my computer tells me it was installing the HP printer and now I got 2 copies.

I uninstalled the drivers and printers and downloaded the last at HP (the same I was already running years) and now it prints a test page after each print job that is wasting ink. By the print job, I mean it prints a test page once all the documents in the print queue. On the rare occasions that it will print a test between each document but this page is not the standard.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Andy, honestly with a printer is 10 years and more, the problem you are experiencing may deal with the age of the device more than anything else. You could try hard-reset of the printer (leaving it unplugged for 20 seconds), but if what you said about the button is true - it is possible that the Board of Directors is signaling the machine to print a test page after each draw by a malfunction at the hardware level.

In this case, maybe it's time for a new printer. If you need help to choose one, there are many solids Deskjets currently on the market from HP that would be a wonderful substitute for this machine.

Let me know and have a great day!

  • HP Officejet Pro 8000 Wireless - print out this partial test page after each print job

I get this page a partial alignment (?) after each print job.  I reinstalled the software, aligned and cleaned print heads, contacts cleaned print head, but still get this page.  Pretty frustrating.

This image, I see that the printer does not align correctly.  If the unit is out of alignment, then the sensors in the printer detects it.  That's why the printer is constantly trying to perform the alignment.

There is a document with the steps to solve this problem.  The document helps walk one by checking the cartridges and the parameters to determine if the problem is software or hardware.  Click here to access the troubleshooting document.

    I hope this helps.

  • How to stop a print test page after each printing?

I have a C. 932 every time I have something that the printer wants to follow by printing a test print page.  At least that is what I think he's trying to do.  I put only enough paper for what I print.  Then I turn the printer off and then on again.  Do not want to waste ink or paper. It lasts for quite awhile now, so I actually forgot what it's trying to print.  A blue interior light lights well.  In any case, it's a pain, and it is high time that I fixed it.  Can someone tell me how?  Thank you!

The page he is trying to print is an alignment page.  Let it print this page and finish correctly and it will not print again until you change the cartridges.  The blue light is an automatic scanner, it will read the page, as it is being printed and align the printer automatically and the value of the energy of operation for cartridges.

  • is there a way to stop the print alignment test page after changing the cartridge?

Seems that this alignment page uses a lot of ink. Is it really necessary every time?

    Deer,

HP printers can ignore alignment and even fail the alignment and print still sometimes.  Alignment is very important after each replacement of the cartridge that you get the best print quality.  The alignment should not use much ink at all.  Misalignment could cause problems of color etc., fuzzy, flat, spots, lines...

I highly recommend to do the alignment.

The type of printer it is and that is if it can even be canceled would depend on how to cancel alignment.  Usually, it has pressed a button, then press one another on the front panel of the printer while it is lining up.  The web page of troubleshooting HP all-in-one print cartridge and alignment for the color copier product families has without going through the alignment of the cartridge as the last section.

  • PSC 1350 all prints a test page every time when turned on

After changing the cartridge, we printed test page.

Now, whenever we turn on the printer it prints test page automatically.

    How to disable this option?

    Thank you

    Hello vancat,

If your problem is that your PSC 1350 prints a test page when it is turned on or after every printjob, it is very likely because the cartridge alignment process is not finished. After you have installed a new cartridge in the printer, it will print an alignment page. You must take this page and place it on the scanner glass (make sure that the top of the page is in a good way), then you press the "Scan" button on the printer itself. It will scan the page (that is, read the page) and full alignment process (so it is not scanning in the sense that it sends an image to the computer).

I hope that clarifies the process of alignment slightly.

  • How to stop printing in 1315 HP printer test page all in one

Original title: HP 1315 all in one printer

How to stop printing the TEST PAGE, after having changed the ink cartridge?  I get a test page everytime I open my printer

    Hello Suzanne Blouin,.

This is the alignment page that keeps printing. You need to scan the alignment with success page so that it will not keep printing every time that you restart printer. Click on the link below.

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/document?DocName=c01577355&cc=us&DLC=en&LC=en&JumpID=reg_R1002_USEN

The product aligns the print cartridges each time the cartridge installation or replacement to ensure the best quality prints. The continuous alignment page to print when the product is turned on or off, or when a print job is started, for the reasons below.

-The process of alignment is not complete.

-The ink cartridges are not correctly installed.

-The ink cartridges need to be replaced.

    -The product must be repaired.

  • HP Photosmart 3310 all-in-one does not print print test page doe but doesn't show is not black

I have a printer all-in-one HP Photosmart 3310 that does not correctly print a test page (print color but not black) and does not print a WORD document from my computer.  The color that should be black in the test page after CLEANING print head appears as a Purple-ish Brown, although after the PRINTER SNAP the printed page shows a short BLACK bar to the left of the five longer bars in FIVE COLORS.  The computer in use is a HP Pavilion dv7 with processor Intel Core i7-3610QM, 2.3 GHz, Ram 8. 0 GB (7.9 GB available), 64-bit and Win 7 Home Premium OS, SP1.

After having downloaded HP Print and Scan doctor, we arrived, after a series of steps to "If the cartridges have been refilled and none is empty, try calibration of color": Open HP Solution Center (start, all programs, HP, HP Solution Center), then click on settings, settings, printer Toolbox, printing on the tab device Services, click on color to calibrate.  This procedure is NOT AVAILABLE, however, because I can't find the HP Solution Center.

What should I try to fix this problem?  Please be specific - and please also include any recommendations for a remedy that is exactly what happens if something must be verified or checked before trying the recommended remedy.

Since the last post, I repeated the test several in Solutions of HP.  Whenever I have repeated the procedure clean print heads, improve the quality of printing in black ink a little bit.  After several passages of this test, maybe 5 or 6 more and separated by some rest of the time, the quality of printing in black ink has reached the State that I consider finally acceptable.

A variable that I can't rule out or rule through all this is the temperature and the humidity.  It has been a winter VERY exceptionally difficult, with a lot more than zero days and subzero temperatures.  And with that comes challenges with the indoor humidity (even if we have the whole House humidification).

In all cases, the printer now works without problem.  And I'll post that I accept the solution most recently proposed by the HP Forum.

The page is printing is an alignment page printed after a cartrdige is changed.  You must complete the alignment process of loading the page on the scanner and pressing the scan button as shown in your user manual, page 33.

  • Why an I get the test page yellow and black with each print job. I have a HP PSC 1350

Why an I get the test page yellow and black with each print job? I have a HP PSC 1350

Hi - I assume that the page that you see printed is the alignment page.  This happens usually if the alignment process has not been made.  All you should have to do is take the printed alignment page and place it face down on the scan scanner glass and press.  Who must complete the alignment process and eliminate the page printing every time.  If you have problems, try following the procedure described in this document.

    Hope that helps.
