HP support no more Blu - Ray?

I have a HP HDX18-1020us

Several weeks ago HP released an update for MediaSmart DVD v2.20 B. After you have installed this update I could play is more Blu - Ray discs. I got the error "unsupported Format". Windows Media Center will not play Blu - Ray is. I sent a support email.

Here is the response from HP.

Thank you for contacting HP Total Care.

With a BluRay disc in the drive, click Start - computer. Right-click on the DVD drive and click Explore. You are able to see the contents of the disc?

If so, we will need to uninstall and reinstall the HP MediaSmart software. To do this, click Start - Control Panel - Classic view (upper-left) - programs and features. Right click on the HP MediaSmart DVD and click on uninstall. Follow the prompts to uninstall the software. Then, click Start - programs - Recovery Manager - Recovery Manager. Click on Advanced Options - software reinstall - Next - Next. Select HP MediaSmart DVD - next - next - finish. After restarting, try a disc again.

If not, you need to reinstall the drivers for the DVD. Click Start - Control Panel - Classic view (on top left) - Device Manager. Click on the + sign next to CD/DVD-ROM drives. Right-click on the drive that is listed, and then click on uninstall. Once the DVD player is no longer in the list, restart the computer. When it starts up, test the drive again. You should now be able to read the contents of the disc in the drive. If you can see them now, try to read the disc in MediaSmart DVD.

This should solve the problem.  If you need help, please reply to this message and we will be happy to help you further.

So I follow their instructions and install the original version. When I open the program it asked me if I wanted to check the updates. Knowing that the original version would play all Blu - Ray movies, I clicked Yes. I was taken in Cyberlinks site for the update.

http://docs.CyberLink.com/multi/patch/ENU/result.jsp?SR=HTS080229-03&ProductNo=HTS00006&AutoBuildID=...

Installation of the Norton Internet Security blocked the installation of the 3 files saying cyberlink.com update were so Trojan virus.
cldorz.dll
cldabcd.dll
cldorzd.dll

I notified support HP that and have not had a response from them for several weeks. If anyone has a solution to this problem, I would appreciate the help.

Success

I uninstalled, ran Ccleaner on the registry and delete all temporary files and reinstalled.

    It's basically my question:

CS5 will still support the MCE Blu - ray on Mac Pro Player?

It is y harly any info the hardware on the web site of Adobe support more. It's just all hype sales!  They used to tell you which disks have been supported, but now that still seems to just be an afterthought in CS5, there is not ehardware in detail everything that is taken in charge and what is not...

This new MCE Blu - ray player looks like a wonderful solution, but only if Encore CS5 on Mac would support it.

    Thank you!

I am positive that your Mac Pro has the connectors. The SATA cable it can be somewhat difficult if you're not comfortable deleting some parts with a screwdriver, but I found it very easy.

Cables SATA sitting around, I had had a little long boxes on the ends of the connector forcing me to have to remove a small amount of plastic from the piece of fan housing. I think that if you buy a kit from OWC cable they include cables that are lower profile but whatever it is, it's not too bad. I just use a dremel to remove a small piece about 1 "x 1" directly above the ports. "

Here are some instructions I found: http://www.newertech.com/downloads/nwtmpqxe32.pdf (Note: the pages in this guide are all mixed!) These guys here sell a kit that delivers these unused ports of SATA to eSATA ports.

You will see that they have low profile cable I was referring to that and so they didn't need to cut the case fan at all. I would say just OWC (www.macsales.com), because they know what you are looking for and you can sell a kit that has the cables you need, including 4-pin-power to SATA power. I recommend you to install the two cables while you're here, so if you later decide to add another SATA drive or an SSD, you will not need to take off again. BTW, add an OCZ Vertex 2 60 GB SSd drive as my boot drive for the OS and applications has been the single most visible upgrade I did and makes the Mac Pro just smoke! Same value as I just pasted the small SSD up there in the optical Bay without a mounting kit, and it works great!

In all honesty, theough, the external enclosure for Blu - Ray works well and is easier to access the drive, because it is now located on my desktop. If you're uncomfortable to disassemble your machine just get quadruple housing interface with the chip set Oxford 934DSB that I can guarantee you that it works out of the box. It cost $140 for the whole machine, not bad compared to the alternatives.

The reader is this: LG WH10LS30. Looks like it's still on sale for Newegg $79 until the end of the year.

Housing I have is the following: BYTECC ME535-Limited-BK. Another $60. The OWC, looks a lot prettier in a Mac environment but costs $40 more for the same features all in brushed aluminium.

I've been creating and burning with yet but Roxio Toast 10 Titanium burns and the authors of the Blu - Ray just wanted to make a CD/DVD

    Good luck!

  • When I try to read Blu - Ray, it says "Windows Media Player cannot play the DVD. The disk has been created in a way that does not support the player. »

    Original title: Blu - Ray

My computer can read blu - ray, but when I try to play one, it says "Windows Media Player cannot play the DVD. The disk has been created in a way that does not support the player. "How should I do?

    Hello

The Blu - ray disc format is not supported in Windows Media Player. To play a Blu - ray Disc, you must use a non-Microsoft program that supports playback of Blu ray and a device that can play Blu ray discs.

    See the article mentioned below:

  • Problem reading HP DV5T Blu - Ray after upgrade windows 7

I have HP Pavilion dv5t-1000 CTO Entertainment Notebook PC (Vista) with the Blu - Ray player. We use to watch Blu - Ray using Quickplay movies without any problem.

But after upgrading to Windows 7 last month, quickplay plays are more Blu - Ray movies. It just hangs. I tried to upgrade Quickplay, installation HP Media smart, but nothing seems to work.

There seems to be no update firmware or updates specific windows 7 blu - ray to the HP support site.

  • Impossible to play H-DVD9 discs on blu - ray player

I have a relatively new blu - ray Sony BDP - 380 (American player) purchased in July 2011 and while he plays a number of different formats, I am unable to read discs in H-DVD9 format.

However, my (region 1) DVD standard cheap Panasonic drive can read H-DVD9 discs.

Any solution? It's annoying that my more expensive blu - ray player is unable to read discs that can my cheap dvd player.

    Thank you!

    Hello
Welcome to the Forums of Discussion of the user.
H - DVD9 is not supported for your Blu - ray player

H - DVD9 or simply HDVD was a limited support of the product released in the year 2000. It is not a HD DVD just a format of high density to allow more information fit on a standard-definition DVD. This format is not supported by any player Sony Blu Ray 2010 or 2011, including the BDP-S380

    Hi inoanedith1024,

This unit came with WinDVD for BD with the original factory at the time of the purchase of this device image.  You can reinstall the applications that use the Vaio Recovery Center.  There are 2 links below to guide you through it.  However if the original factory image is no longer installed, then Vaio Recovery Center will be available.  In this case, you must buy the recovery cd to restore the image of origin and WinDVD BD software.  If so, please also order the recovery from the link below.

  • Drive Blu - ray for g62-455dx

I would like to replace my DVD drive internal stock (599062-001) with a Blu - ray player.  Partsurfer site does not list a Blu - ray drive for my computer laptop, g62-455dx, but I don't see Blu - ray discs for other models g62.  Specifically, I see the drive 599063-001 listed, but I don't know if it will work with my laptop.

Is drive compatibility just make to it the device physically fits in my laptop?  Or are there other requirements of the machine, such as the BIOS support or discrete video adapter?  I understand that I need software Blu - ray.

It's just a matter of physical compatibility. Even if you have the Intel HD video which is sufficient to support playback of Blu - Ray. Caveat that if you have a display of 1366 x 768 Blu-Rays looks not very different from DVDs. Windows will provide a generic driver optical drive to a very basic layer of the operating system that you want to mount as a volume and a function higher as DVD and Blu - Ray playback and burning disc is provided by Windows or third-party software.

As long as the drive is the right thickness (9.5 to 12 mm) and SATA (like all Blu - Ray players) it will slide into the hole and connect. You may need to Exchange facades to maintain perfect chassis and color coordination.

  • HP mediasmart DVD & Blu ray?

I tried to play a blu ray dvd player and I get the following message:

"Mediasmart DVD does not support playback of Blu - Ray disc on a virtual device. A Blu - Ray disc must be inserted into a BD - ROM drive for reading. »

any ideas on how to make if it is possible to solve this problem?  Thank you!!

    Hello

You have a virtual drive installed on the laptop software?  If so, uninstall it (at least temporarily) and restart the computer before trying the following.

HP now provides a version of PowerDVD 10 Cyberlinks which seems to be a better solution.  Download the latest installer for it on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp56501-57000/sp56904.exe

Once the download is complete, open windows control panel, open programs and features, make a right click the entry for HP MediaSmart DVD and select uninstall - when this process is complete, restart the laptop.

When windows has reloaded, open your downloads folder and double-click Setup for PowerDVD 10 start the installation.  Once this done, see if your Blu - ray disc now plays OK.

If it play Ok now and you didn't need to uninstall any virtual drive software, try to reinstall right now to see if the issue Returns or not.

    Kind regards

  • Satellite L755-144: drive Blu - ray (BD - ROM) game back support

Sorry if this sounds a little silly question.

I am looking to buy Satellite L755-144 (http://uk.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/product/Satellite-L755-144/1107338/toshibaShop/true/) that comes with a Blu - ray (BD - ROM) game back support disk drive.

Now, I don't know what that means. I can see that it plays Blu ray DVD and CD, I understand it does not burn Blu Ray, but it burns DVD and CD?

    Thank you

    Hello

I searched for some more details on the Satellite L755-144 and the ODD support and the internal disk drive support this:

    CD - RW (read/re-write),
    DVD - R Carbon SL, DL (read/write),
    DVD - RW (read/write),
    DVD + R Carbon SL, DL (read/write),

  • Engravers Blu - ray Samsung SE - 506 Monte is more after the upgrade of the El Capitan

    Hi all

MBP, in early 2008, El Capitan 10.11.2...

My Samsung Portable Blu - ray writer, SE-506CB/RSBD Monte is more after I upgraded to El Capitan, last week.  The drive itself is only a few months old.

The problem is not the USB ports, like other devices work fine with all the USB ports on my MBP.

Note that I'm NOT trying to read or write a Blu - ray disc.  I try only to play audio CDs, I've done successfully before the upgrade to El Capitan.

    Someone had this problem?

    Thank you...

For what it's worth, I have this problem as well.  The drive tray would not eject even with a single cable, so I switched to another.  I could then open the drawer (seems odd for me) but the disc would not rise.  Here's the info from the console log that indicates that the operating system is getting bad feedback from the pilot saying that the disk is defective.  This same drive/cable/disc work very well on my MacBook Air 10.10.5 and had worked perfectly well with this MBP even before the service (and "free" upgrade to EC by Apple).

  • Not Surround sound more on Blu - ray player after upgrade by MediaSmart

When I used the Blu - ray player in my home theater, I selected the mode "HDMI pass" to get a sound surround. I came across a few new films that would not play and after the update from HP, the player would simply freeze as soon as there is audio present. I had to go to the Task Manager to close it.

MediaSmart works fine on the laptop, but it only freezes when I use the parameter "pass through HDMI.

I tried mode "HDMI pcm" and who does not work either. This Denon receiver there are five channels work but I get stereo sound on front speakers left and right. This seems to indicate that the Blu - ray player is not released in 5.1 surround sound and the laptop and the Denon receiver works fine.

Supports the HP solution was to reinstall the older driver or try a system restore. I know that a system restore won't do anything. The problem is in the new software. The new software does not work on my HDX18 when he was under Vista, it did not work when I upgraded to Windows 7 and it does not work on my new dv8.

I tried to contact CyberLink to let them know that the upgrade is giving problems, but I think they ignore me.

Personally, I think that HP or Cyberlink just forgot to add the drivers for a 5.1 and 7.1 surround sound.

If anyone find a solution to this one that I wouldn't be surprised. I'm quite sure I've covered all the possibilities, but you never know.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you

HP had me download a software called K-Lite which is a software codec repairs and replacement. After the upgrade of the software more returned to get my blu - ray movies to work, I ran K-Lite and that did the trick.

    http://www.codecguide.com/download_kl.htm

I used the mega version, but you can probably use the standard.

It is a software complex with many choices and I changed it to accept a sound audio surround and DTS 7.1. There were several boxes prompting me to remove the broken codec which continued for some time and when it was all thanks to I was surprised that it worked.

Meanwhile CyberLink itself actually got back to me and I was given some temporary free software provide I run their diagnostic tool for them on my dv8 for helping them understand my problem. It is still pending.
