  The xbox 360 remote control Infra-red, the 360 has an IR receiver port.

  The wireless gaming receiver is radio only, so will not pick up the remote control. There isn't AFAIK a 'remote control' for the wireless receiver such that it has a validity of the Protocol only for xbox 360 Wireless devices, although there are a lot of 3rd inventive party accessories available, there might be something. You can of course use one of these wireless devices as a remote for other applications with the right software (xpadder, beam, etc.).

  Other that that, there are a multitude of remotes for PC, IR and wireless (including bluetooth).   Did you install all the necessary drivers, firmware and/or software Intellisoft of the mouse and then restart?

  You have good batteries in the mouse?
