I get an error message that I can't find on the internet?

Whenever I try to use my firefox browser to open certain Web pages (like connect to instagram, or using my net banking income, or playing videos on instagram...) this thing is.

The address was not included

Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because one of the following protocols (javascript) is not associated with any program or is not allowed in this context.

You might need to install other software to open this address.

And the url short is always something like javascript:void (0) or something equally as errory to research.

I have the latest version of Java, I checked all the settings.
It should work?
Like, I can't find why it wouldn't and theinternet has literally no advice for this error.

Make sure that Network.protocol - handler.external.javascript has the default value (false).

  • topic: config page: Network.protocol - handler.external.javascript = false

You can open the topic: config page via the address bar.
You can accept the warning and click on "I'll be careful" to continue.

You can try the following steps in case of problems with web pages:

You can reload webpages and ignore the cache to refresh potentially stale or corrupt.

  • Hold down the SHIFT key and click the Reload button
  • Press 'Ctrl + F5' or 'Ctrl + Shift + R' (Windows, Linux)
  • Press 'Command + shift + R' (Mac)

Clear the cache and delete cookies only from Web sites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Firefox/tools > Options > advanced > network > content caching Web: 'clear now '.

'Delete Cookies' sites causing problems:

  • Firefox/tools > Options > privacy > "Use the custom settings for history" > Cookies: "show the Cookies".

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem.

  • Put yourself in the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance
  • Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode safe
