  Thanks rb11, I realized these things (support page, etc.) and the problem persists.  I could add the image of the first page that turned out to be totally black when printing.  If all goes well, I can attach a jpeg file, illustrating the speed at which the page went to total darkness.

  I'm sorry to hear that the update of the firmware is also a failure for you. Make sure that you have not any "paper" or "paper jam" message on the screen when you try to send the firmware. If all goes well on the printer when you try to send the firmware, it sounds like something may be altered in your printers of programming.

  I ended up returning the printer Staples because I had a friend to come and take a look and we discovered that one of the rollers on the side right wasn't in the right place because the paper would be stuck and twisting.   I have a brand new printer Officejet 100 (just out of the box today) and I am trying to print photos from my Canon Rebel T5, which is connected by usb to the printer.

  I loaded the plain printer paper in the tray and the pictures printed without problem. When I try the same steps with the matte photo paper, the printer is flashing with an error of paper, and the camera screen says no paper is located.

  Photo paper I use is the mark Staples, 8-1/2 x 11 inches and 230 g/m (61lb), which weighs less than the recommended 250 g/m2 (66 lb) on the site of hp - http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=c02623030

  This printer works only with HP photo paper, or have I missed a step somewhere along the way?

  The report consists of a sql query, returns the data for the 14 contracts.
  I need the report to produce a cover letter, a contract, a calendar, a contract and a calendar in this order for each contract (sections so 14 * 5 page layout).

  I don't think you need to do something with the vertical panels per page here. It looks like a report with 3 repeating frames inside another:

  R_letters
  ..R_contracts
  ....R_schedules
  

  You can set the page break before make sure that the letter, contract and the calendar start on a new page to the property. Now the calendar can be on 2 pages without problem.

I don't do a lot of printing, so I don't want to waste paper by the presence of an extra page printed up evry time I want to just print a few pages.   I see that you have a problem with the printer print on photo paper. I would first do a hard reset with the printer.

  Hard Reset:

  Unplug the power cord from the printer and the wall

  Wait for 30 seconds

  Then plug the power cord into the printer, and then on the wall (make sure that you plug into the wall and not a surge protector)

  If this does not resolve the problem, I suggest installing a replacement driver. Sometimes the default driver does not trigger the sensors to pick up different than the 8.5x11 paper size.
