Installation of drive Media Express before you install Windows XP - Pro?

Hi all

I want to install Windows XP Professional on my Satellite A100-153.
I have already done all the backups, created a tool and driver CD and I'm ready to start... BUT:
What the Express Media Player? I have a recovery for the Express Media Player CD. What do I need to run the Express Media Player Recovery before you install Windows XP Pro?
I'm not reinstall my Windows XP HOME Edition. As I am used to work with the XP pro edition I have a Windows XP pro. So no recovery.

Can someone help me?
Thank you very much!

Hello

Installation of the drive, I found a FAQ document very useful on the Express media:
http://support.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/TSB58014O0008R01.htm

In addition, on the HARD drive should at least 150-200 MB of free space available.
This free space must be on the end of the HARD drive and there must be unallocated.
To get this free space of HDD the 3 products part must be used namely Partitions magic 8

good luck buddy

Try to reduce the amount of RAM installed on a unique key and try again.

If you have several hard drives attached, disconnect all except the disk target hard.

If you have compatible hardware and your computer still stops responding, disable any unnecessary material. Remove (USB) universal serial bus devices. Remove or disable network cards, sound cards and cards of the series; and then restart the installation.

  • Cannot perform your recommended steps before you install Windows XP SP3.

I'm just following Microsofts instructions on the steps recommended to install SP3, but the first step in creating a backup and a set of disks is impossible without a floppy drive.  Backup is done, but not useful until I have a updated boot.  I search all the forums to find an answer - but none out there and no responses to several messages from the user.

Please tell me how to do this.

Since you're web site told me no more updates until SP3 is installed.  I put this, because I couldn't save my system.  I don't have the original disks, because my pc was purchased from a seller who did not give those out.

  • New hard drive, installed Windows XP PRO version 2002 - resolution screen and internet problems

My Dell has had some problems (patially due to age), so a buddy of mine and I put a new hard drive in it and then installed windows XP Pro.  Installation went great, but now that it's installed, I can not get the screen resoultion to change and I can't connect to the internet.  I feel like with the internet, can I have a driver problem.  I know that the internet works, I'm on it with the laptop right now.  Any suggestions?

????  I'm not sure I understand your question. You download the drivers to a place, you will find them, as the office. If you want to put them on a USB stick, copy the files downloaded to the key and take it to the computer target. Copy the files on the computer desktop. Double-click on a file and it will unpack the installation routine starts. Follow the installation wizard. Reset when said to repeat as needed until all the drivers, etc are installed. Subsequently, you can delete the downloaded files from Dell (from installation .exe). MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

  • Installed Windows 7 Pro 64 bit on original Vista CQ60 and now can't do the system recovery

I have a Compaq Presario CQ60-320SA, which came with Vista Home Premium 32-bit and do a new install of 7 Pro 64-bit.  Now I want to go back but F11 does not work, and there is no recovery for a reason Manager any. The recovery partition is still there.

I don't have useful recovery discs because when I tried to make them when I got the laptop, the process has failed for an unknown reason (I asked the TechGuys, who suggested to use a better quality than DVD, but I don't bother).

What can I do?  Is my only option of order recovery disks?

The main point of this exercise is to get the original settings before you install Windows XP 32-bit.  Which is the best thing to do, or should I just go directly from 7 to XP?   Will I have problems if I decide to go back to XP?

    Thank you

No, just be sure that install you XP to the right partition, (a greater) and not to the recovery partition.

  • After installing windows XP Pro my computer does not start correctly

After you have installed Windows XP Pro on my HP Pavilion (updated to XP home), my computer will not end the restart process.  I have repeatedly in a loop once the blue screen with the HP logo.  When this has happened before after installing a pack of updates for XP Home, we just started in safe mode and then had it will restart at an earlier time, thus eliminating the updates.  However, now when I try to start in safe mode, I get an error message that says: "Windows Setup cannot start in safe mode" and I leave safe mode.  We hoped that by installing Windows XP Pro, this problem should go away.  Can anyone help?  I have read several other entries in the forum for similar problems, but they all have to do with updates.  This is the first time I was not able to use safe mode, so now I'm stuck.  I hope that I can avoid having to perform a full system recovery, since it is a long involved process and having once before, I always felt the same restart problems after installing updates.

    PA bear,

Thank you for help... After reading several posts in the forum, one of them reminded people to check with the manufacturer of the computer so that possible solutions... and this is the solution here, I wish I thought of him earlier... I did a system recovery to remove the Windows HP Pro and return to the original version of the default value.  Then I went to the HP site and downloaded the patch according to their directions.  Problems fixed! :-)

Any PERSON HAVING HARD REBOOT YOUR HP PAVILION (with an AMD processor) after you install Windows XP service pack 2 or 3 updates:

HP has a patch that solved all my problems.  Clearly, service packs contain information for Intel processors that is in conflict with AMD processors in many HP Pavilion desktop computers.  You can go to their customer service solutions website and download the patch.  Since I did it, I had no other problems. I wish just that I had discovered the solution until I had to do a full system recovery.

If your computer hangs on reboot 'loop', see if this info. HP will help you:

The computer restarts after a Stop error message display 0x0000007E (after update with Service Pack 3 for Windows XP)

If you have had problems with XP updates, including service pack 2 or 3, try this page:

The file is setup.exe.  Depending on your version of Windows 95 CD, it could be in the WIN95 folder or in a subfolder of WIN95.

Before you buy Windows 7 it will modernize my Windows XP?

First, see if your computer meets the Windows 7 system requirements:

    o 1 gigabyte (GB) of RAM (32-bit) or 2 GB RAM (64-bit)
    o 16 GB available space disk (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit)

If so, run the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor to check for possible problems.  If it passes this test, you can buy a Windows 7 upgrade version and use it to perform a custom (clean) installation.   For more information, see upgrade from Windows XP to Windows 7 and Windows 7 Upgrade Considerations .

    Hello

    ·        Did you do a clean install of Windows Vista without formatting?

    ·        How many letters pilot are there on the system, for example C:\, D:\?

    ·        The number of records your C:\ drive?

Open C:\ drive and select all the files that are present and check what size is (of all files). Let us know the size.

If you did a clean installation without formatting then, it may be a folder named windows.old. If you have the folder on the system, then follow the steps mentioned in the article below.

  • MSVCR71.dll missing. I installed Windows 7 Pro to Vista Home Edition. EU back up my HARD drive. When I try to put things on the HARD drive I get the message that msvcr71.dll is missing. How to install Windows 7?

I installed Windows 7 Pro to Vista Home Prem Edition.  Back up my HARD drive with the included HP software.  Now I can't get my info on the HARD drive.  When I try to open the computer file backup says msvcr71.dll is missing.  How to install and where?

    Hi dezertdawg,

Welcome to the Microsoft Answers site!

Msvcr71.dll errors are caused by situations that lead to the removal or corruption of the msvcr71 DLL file. In some cases, the msvcr71.dll errors might indicate a
problem of registry, a virus or malware problem, or even a hardware failure.

You can use the tool (SFC.exe) System File Checker to ensure that the system files are intact and replace the file. Follow these steps:

    1. Click Start and type cmd in the box start the search.

    2. right click on cmd in the list programs and then click Run as administrator.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password or click on continue

    3. at the command prompt, the following line, and then press ENTER:

    sfc/scannow
