IR hardware not detected

I have a card WinTV - HVR 1600 internal HDTV on my computer, but Windows Media Center does not detect the material in the IR. I have a Media Center remotely from a previous IR Blaster and you can use this remote control and the one supplied with the card WinTV Media Center control, but when installing Media Center, he says IR hardware not detected.

Hello

Try these steps and check if that helps:

Step 1: Change due to Windows Media Center Receiver Service log

a. Click Start, type "services.msc" in the search bar and press ENTER. Click on continue if UAC window is prompted for permission.
b. double-click Windows Media Center Receiver Service.
c. on the 'Log On' tab, select the Local System account.
d. click on apply, OK.
e. right click on the Windows Media Center Receiver Service and click the "Restart".
f. check service to make sure it's status is started.

Step 2: Update the drivers for the WinTV-HVR-1600.

You can download the latest drivers from the link below:
http://www.Hauppauge.com/site/support/support_hvr1600.html#mediacenter

Download and install the drivers manually.

I found this fix on another site.  We're supposed to plug the IR cable to the TV box at the back of the first port on the remote sensor Windows Media (the ' antenna' of the Windows Media Center remote control) and then to put the tip of the probe of the IR cable to the cable TV box distance near the sensor on the cable box (it can be seen by a light in the glass) and then complete the configuration of the channels in Windows Media.  The problem is, it does not work unless there is also something connected to Port 2 of the medial distance sensor Windows as well (a head set will do).  With the sensor box IR cable company cable plugged into the first port in the back of the remote Windows Media sensor and headphones plugged into Port 2 of the remote sensor, Windows Media, and the end of the probe of the sensor cable box IR cable near the cable box remote sensor box, Window Media channel setup "found" the cable of the IR sensor and allow me to complete the installation.  I could not bind the Windows Media remote sensor with the remote for the cable box, but said that I managed.  I use the remote cable box to change channels and have box IR cable connected on the decoder cable TV and put the cable box IR receiver cable on top of my desk.

  • Windows Media Center IR hardware not detected

Hi, I'm stuck at the 'IR Hardward not detected"when you try to set up the TV.

I am in Australia and have a wireless component gets my digital signal in another room.  www.cocoonsystems.com.au I run a Haupaggue (spelling?) TV tuner.  The TV tuner may display the signal from my cocoon via its product called WinTV.  It is consulted on the Composite connection.  (PC is a new computer from Dell with Vista desktop loaded)

So, when I go to configure Media Center to see the signal as I do the following:
    1. set up TV signals
    2. Australia region
    3. choose antenna
    4. Select digital terrestrial
    5. Select Yes (for the view through a decoder, because the other option does not find my signal)
    6. He found the photo and playback of the sound by means of Composite 1, so I select it
    7 IR hardware not detected.

Media Center doesn't let me step by-pass 7 if I don't have an infrared connection.  I have no need of my PC to change the channel because I use the remote control digital TV to change the channel through the Cocoon system.

Is there a way someone knows I can work around that this troublesome matter of IR hardware not detected?  I can only assume if I had my video camera connected through the Composite connection I would have the same problem too, because that was not a remote control.

    What can I do?

    Balibooblue,
Thank you for visiting the Microsoft Answers community forum.

The only way I know to bypass the need for a hardware device to IR during the installation of Media Center to watch TV is to use a "virtual" infrared device  There is one called "Vista MCE IR Blaster" is a file that you download from the Internet that simulates an infrared device.  You will need to do a search for it.  Or you can buy the hardware Media Center application relatively cheaply online, on the USD $20.

Using third-party software, including hardware drivers can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the use of third-party software can be solved. Software using third party is at your own risk.

  • Hauppauge HVR-1800 with FIOS STB, IR hardware not detected

Hauppauge HVR-1800 with FIOS STB? Controller cable IR?

I have a Verizon FIOS set-top box (Motorola) and installed a Hauppauge HVR-1800. Through the installation the first time I came across the roadblock "IR hardware not detected." Large. Went out and bought a WMC compatible remote Vista with an IR blaster/transmitter. Plug the USB key, hit the green button WMC, it works. Try to install again. It allows to find the signal very well so I come once AGAIN to the obstacle of the "undetected hardware IR", but now it has additional material information IR I have installed isn't cable controllers? What happens in the * what it means? Verizon FIOS TV tuner FAQ says you must use a DCR (digital cable ready) card to be compatible with FIOS but it is a standard def set - top box and I don't need/want to record HD, even if the STB supported. I tried the work around to manually configure the card with analog antenna and get no signal at all on air, just snow stations. I tried manually add channel 3 and use the remote decoder. No signal is detected here either. I can get my tuner card to find the STB, but it's the darn IR! I don't want to spend a lot of money, buy a NEW card or ANOTHER remote control, but I want to sort this problem... I have a Vista compatible card, distance, etc, so I don't know where is the problem. :(

  • Windows media center ir hardware not detected units

    Hi all

It's my whole first time attempt to install a tv tuner and set up and I have difficulties. I try configuring a hauppauge hvr 1850 in windows media center on windows 7 64 bit. My TV provider is directv and windows media center detects my decoder when it searches for tv signals. It does not detect my tv tunter as well, but he says no signal and I have to configure manually. After you manually configure my tv tuner, I get another message saying "ir hardware not found." I tried a lot of workarounds and none of them does not seem to work, I have a windows media center certified remote provided with my tv tuner and I can control everything in windows media center, but it stops said ir hardware not detected. I need help serious because I am running out of options. Does anyone use directv on this particular tv tuner?

Have you downloaded Windows Media Center remote control receiver/blaster configuration utility?

Go through the procedure step by step, as described in the following article: -.

  • E9150T - Windows 7 Media Center - IR hardware not detected

Hello.  I finished the upgrade from Vista to Windows 7 earlier today.

While the upgrade went OK, Media Center can't access hardware IR for a reason any.

I always get the IR hardware not detected error message.

I do not anything with the prior agreement of material or after the upgrade.

I'm running on an E9150T and I think IR's eHome Infrared Receiver via USB.

Any help is appreciated as I did not find anything Googling for the last two hours.

Problem seems to be resolved.  Do not know which of the following has solved, but I made the following two tasks:

    1. connect a second infrared device on the second port of the IR Blaster.  Previously, it was empty.  Alone, this does not solve the problem.

    2. the system to reboot.

3 went through a detailed set / Media Center, and simple configuration.

Alto!  The IR Blaster seems to work now...

  • Re: Bluetooth hardware not detected on Satellite M40-145

    Hello

I recently changed the HD of my Satellite M40-145. I have successfully used the recovery CD, office etc, and now everything seems to work fine... All except the Bluetooth, it is not detected (this laptop has a Bluetooth chip internal). It does not appear on the Device Manager list. I was reading some FAQ in the web of Bluetooth Toshiba and tried to install it again Toshiba Bluetooth Stack but there is still not detected. Any idea?, any solution?

Thanks in advance for your attention (and I apologize for my bad English)

If your laptop is preinstalled with original recovery image please activate the BT module (WLAN WIFI switch must be ON, and then use the FN + F8 key combination) and I hope that BT's standard installation starts automatically.

When you are finished Device Manager check again. The components of BT enabled and installed should appear correctly.

  • Installation for the new video card will not work. Message "Hardware not detected" what's the problem?

Windows XP Home Edition. Motherboard ASUS P4PE. (Old) NVIDIA geforce4 TI 4400 failed - video card replaced by Prowler Radeon 7000 64 MB agp (Mad Dog). The black screen with the old card and bought a new one. At out the old card and installed a new.  Start the computer and graphics were. With Nvidia drivers installed, display settings could be changed. Device, 'Monitor' Manager showed now default monitor instead of good Sony monitor. Remove all drivers video and rebooted.  Screen "new hardware found" appeared, but I couldn't get the new drivers loaded. I inserted the disc by the manufacturer, but the pilots has not can be detected. Has attempted to launch "Setup" on the disc, but received a material not found error message. Yellow mark points to "Other devices" and the hyphen "VGA Display adapters". No 'monitor' in Device Manager. Tried to turn off the windows firewall and Virus software. I tried windows update. Still have a problem. What's wrong?

The old drivers must remove the first test pilot seeper guru3d.

The nvidia Setup program should find the material but otherwise download the latest version of the software from their Web site.  They must be the pilot, right down to the revision number, not only the model number.

  • "Windows Media Center cannot detect the IR control cables, which are necessary to control the set-top box. Fixing parts IR that supports the IR control cables and then try again. IR HARDWARE NOT FOUND ".

Original title: when setting up Windows Media Center, I get the error message: "IR hardware not detected".

I have an internal TV Tuner that has been installed by HP, when I bought recently a "computer build-your-own." (According to the control panel Device Manager, my tuner is a Win TV HVR 1290, made by Hauppauge). The computer came with Windows 7. While installing Windows Media Center, after setting up the TV Signal (on channel 3) I am able to see a video thumbnail on my computer screen. I am also able to change the channel using my remote control U-Verse (not the Windows remote control supplied with the computer). So far so good! I then hit next and get the following message: "Windows Media Center cannot detect the IR control cables, which are necessary to control the set-top box. Fixing parts IR that supports the IR control cables and then try again. IR HARDWARE NOT FOUND ".  After you receive this message, the installation procedure is completed. I called HP that support intalled the tuner. They had not the slightest idea what to do. I then called Hauppage customer (manufacturer of TV Tuner). They said that I need to plug one end of the IR Blaster cable that shipped with the computer in a slot in the back of my computer (they told me which slot). They said so to run the IR all the way cable to my cable box and the other end of the cable to my cable box of band. They said it was necessary to be able to use my Microsoft Remote to instruct the box to change channels (cable IR stuck on the box). I told her that I did not use the Microsoft Remote, I could change the channel with my U-verse remote (that I preferred to use anyway). He said that it took the cable on the band decoder in order to remove the error message and the installation of Windows Media Center. I then called U-Verse technical adapter who informed me of their set-top boxes (made by Cisco Systems) do not have the ability to receive signals IR IR Blaster cable (or any othe IR signal source). Microsoft is apparently not understand how U-Verse set-top boxes are designed to work and sells a product incompatible remote control/IR. My question is this: How do I set up Windows Media Center, in order to avoid getting the error message "IR hardware not detected" when you install Windows Media Center and just use the remote control of the U-Verse that I prefer to use in the first place. Once understand you this point, please send the information to HP, At & T U-Verse and others. Thank you.

Ron, I have something for you!

and for all the people who have this problem :)

Hi, I had the time of IR not detected in Windows 7 Ultimate with a TV wonder 650 card and a box of digital adapter from Verizon for my PC... Go on the road to installation and after the Media Center channel search, choose manual configuration. Choose the aerial signal (I aso picked after this analog) l. After he sought more, he finds no channels.  Do not be afraid. Just accept it and go to the main settings page in the Mediacenter. If I remember correctly, then select TV Guide. Choose Add channel. I added the channel 3.

Since my Verizon box has no IR for the computer, I added the channel 3 for the media Center and I change the channels with my Verizon remote. All my stations in the Verizon box go to Channel 3.

The story here is so, for some reason any Windows detects that only my box channel signal TV and you must manually configure the media center on the air, then go to settings and add the channel you want in the guide.

Why the guide TV control which channel you can tune is beyond me, but the scanner locks all channels, it does not detect. they must be added manually in the guide.

My TV works and looks okay now.

    It actually works!

the only problem is that it is not in HD

    but there is something

  • Media Center TV error: not detected IR receiver.

I plugged properly the IR cable (and the "pouf"), but I can't turn my TV through Media Center.  I keep getting the error message: IR hardware not detected.     It worked fine until I had to have a new hard drive installed, with media Center - the XP version - need to be resettled.

    • ... My fact computer receive TV (via S-video) signal.
    • And I am convinced that I have the IR cable is connected directly over signage to distance from the box by satellite.
    • My IR equipment was purchased with my computer, via the gateway.  The IR has a name brand on the back, called "SMK".
I honestly don't care even if the remote control work-I just want to be able to watch (and record) the TV via my computer.   - But I can't complete the configuration of the TV, it me stops with this error message every time.
    Help someone?  Please?

Thanks for the ideas.  In the meantime, I found a way around, by attaching listeners both ports the pouf - and through various tests, I managed to fool my computer allowing me to configure the TV manually, at least partially.  It is not completely functional - that I can't control my receiver via my computer... but I never able to do this, even if my computer has been directly from the factory.  (and Yes, I have the little 'eye' attached directly above 'eye' on my receiver).  ... At this point, I was kinda afraid to throw my current settings.  But I'll keep your suggestions in case I have have other difficulties or be too frustrated with my set-up.

    Thanks much for the thoughts!
  • I can't open windows dev, required audio hardware is not detected

My computer says: "Windows movie maker cannot be used because the required audio hardware is not detected on your computer".

The audio material is on my computer. I downloaded the audio to youtube, I have changed it to an AVI file with www.zamzar.com

    Can someone help me please?

It is already very clear. The audio from your computer does not meet the minimum requirements of Windows Movie Maker.

Hardware audio here refers to the audio device (common examples are Realtek and Conexant High Definition Audio) in your computer and not the audio file you want to add to the film.

Audio drivers may be damaged or have problems.

Please tell the following details on your PC-

    * Manufacturer/OEM (HP, Dell, Sony, Acer, MSI, etc..)

    * The series and model

The information could be useful to find the updated drivers for your audio device.

Also, press the Windows key + R, type devmgmt.msc and press ENTER. Expand sound, video and game controllers, and then check that your audio device is there. Also, double-click on your audio device, click the general. The State of the device should be "this device works correctly. If it displays errors or problems please post a description of the State of the device with the error code here.

Also, try to download and install Windows Movie Maker Version 2.6.
