  Try to update the drivers using Windows Update.  If this does not work, try the versions of Vista of Intel and Ricoh under Chipset drivers on the website of downloads & drivers for Vostro Notebook 1500 . Make a restore point first.

  I can't install the driver for my device wireless on my laptop Dell Vostro 1500 running Windows XP Professional. The laptop came with Windows Vista Basic Edition.   Mouse configuration panel - look for the TouchPad settings - perhaps under the parameters of the device and your own tab
  may be different (it is NOT the Scrollings tab which is for the mouse). On some, you can activate
  and disable scrolling and/or define the size of the area and the sensitivity of the touchpad.

  Some will have a TouchPad progam/control icon in the Notification area near the clock-
  at the bottom right.

  Some models also have quick access to toggle the touchpad keys.

  It was reported a problem with Dell Touchpads too sensitive - check with
  Dell support and forums for known issues.

  I updated an old laptop, Dell Vostro 1500 from Windows 7 to Windows 10. Everything is great, the touch pad works, it is much faster than it used to be, one thing is, none of the USB 4 ports work.

  I tried to uninstall and looking for changes, that did not work. I also tried fix registry of CCleaner

  The model of your system is not compatible with W10. I advise you to stay with W7/W8.1 unless you want to try your luck with W10.

  I have a dell vostro that I bought with a bad hard drive. After replacing the hard drive and install windows 7 on it, it started to freeze on me after that I installed the graphics drivers from Nvidia.

  I looked online and I thought it was an overheating issue. then I downloaded speedfan and the temperature was about 76-84

  so I bought the new thermal paste and clean everything inside the laptop.

  After completing the cleaning and put new thermal paste

  the should fell to 50-70, it worked fine for about 1 hour, after he began to freeze up again.

  then I uninstalled the Nvidia driver and the gel stopped.

  The bad stick was the original that I bought with which is DDR3 1333 MHz

  And the problem was that the second stick DDR3 12800 MHz.

  So after replace the two matched sticks of DDR3 1333 MHz he has worked for more than 5 hours without any problem. !
