J4680

I can't install the HP software. Fatal error, scan.msi and impossible to include msxml4.dll.

Tried to repair the two files, tried to copy CDs, tried software download at HP, and nothing is working. Impossible to believe that HP has become so complicated would be staright moved forward.

p.s., also tried updated HP and HP doctor... both are a joke.

Just got the phone with assistance from HP, they too could not understand and think I should re - load the operating system.

Fortunately, I have a clone that I can go to, but should not have to do this since now I might have to re - install many programs.

  • Scan to PDF doesn't work don't not with J4680 all-in-One

    I can't get the scan to searchable PDF (PDF and PDF) file to work as expected with my new J4680.

    It works very well with other formats (TIF, JPG, etc.), but not with the PDF.

    It scans well request for additional pages correctly, and then try to create the PDF file. This is the process fails.

    An empty PDF file (size 0) is created and it fails with an error message:

    unexpected error, click OK to close the program, and perform the following steps:

    -Restart the program; -start the computer and try again. -Reinstall the software and try again

    8, [(6, 261,-2147417851)]

    (freely translated from the German - except for the error number ;-)

    Of course, none of the suggestions above, or any combination of these, or restart the printer works. Any ideas?

    Thanks, the problem is resolved for now.

    Suppot of HP was somehow in the right direction. I uninstalled the drivers all (!) of the 'old' hardware HP (6110 OfficeJect, ScanJet,...), reinstalled the J4680 completely and from there everything worked.

    Internal error (WIN XP) seems to be related to a conflict with older drivers.

  • Cannot connect new wireless J4680 to Airport Extreme 802.11n

    1. I first tried hold as usual several times.  The installation wizard is not 'see' my wireless.  Tried to reset wireless from the camera, without result.

    2 follow the steps as shown in the video 'YouTube' of HP.  Was once able to proceed to the point to get at least a "Page of Network Configuration" report printed which indicates success in adjustment in "ad hoc" on its network "hpsetup" mode, but then can not pass the airport network in infrastructure mode, input on the webpage of embedded devices.  (But now I know at least IP address theJ4680.)

    3. usually not found "hpsetup" automatically listed as a network on the airport.  Can sometimes become there by configuring manually via the J4680.  But this method will not always work.

    4. based on a different view (a person using Windows, Fios), tried to temp - disable my security at airports (a WPA2 Personal), but who have no positive effect.

    5 J4680.  Airport Extreme 802.11.  Mac OS 10.5.6.  No firewall that might interfere.  My MacBook is the only device on my Airport network.

    What else should I try?  Thanks in advance for any other tips/techniques that y ' All can provide.

    Basically, I had to wait for the weekend to go home, so when I did, decided to just approach it all completely 'clean ':

    1. uninstalled the J4680 driver-->

    2 do you have a factory reset on the Airport Express-->

    3. configured reset Airport Express-->

    4 reinstalled the J4680 driver, using one that I had downloaded earlier (instead of the Conference on Disarmament) to make sure that I got the version the most recent-->

    5 turned on/turned off everything (to reset): MacBook, modem, router, printer-->

    6. then simply followed the implementation of HP guests-->

    It works! It works! It works!

  • OfficeJet J4680 no analysis

    This software Officejet J4680 done OK on my Dell with WIN XP. I moved to WIN 7 on a 4540 s HP's ProBook, the HP printing software installed (used the USB caple) and now have problems with scanning.

    Solution Center HP tells me that the printer is disconnected. I can print, but not an analysis. I enter the IP address in my browser and I can connect to the printer.

    I loaded and run the Scan doctor. (He said having a fix). I use the product V.14

    I reinstalled the software and restarted several times.

    I also get the error message: HP Scan error 8 [(1.0,-2147221502)]

    I can scan manually, which, of course, do not save the file copy. I think I read most of the pertinant to the similar complaints on this forum.

    If HP has a solution, please email me and tell me he replied on this Forum

    The printer installation wizard should have given you the option to install the printer on the network. If you click on start > all programs > HP > HP Officejet J4680 > add a device.

    This should allow you to select USB or network and follow the steps to add the printer using the HP software.

    I have the J4680 Setup to save faxes in my office.  I have woul d like to prevent them from automatically print. Is this possible?

    Yes. Fax to PC for J6480 is possible.

    To prevent it from printing on the all-in-one,

    you will need active fax to PC function on the printer itself...

    Follow these steps:

    Setup > basic fax configuration > disable Fax Print > OFF

    Restart the Mac,

    Apple menu > software update... Install updates

    If it does not perform these steps:

    • Applications
    • Uninstalling HP * warning step below it will remove all THE HP software *.
    • Hold down CTRL and CMD and Option on your keyboard while clicking on uninstall to remove all software
    • Apple menu > System Preferences > print and fax
    • Hold down the CTRL key and click in the white box on the left side.
    • Release CTRL key, and then click Reset printing system
    • Applications > utilities > disk utility
    • Check the permissions of the drive
    • Repair disk permissions,
    • Download the latest software from HP

    • Install and try to start a new search

    I upgraded my OS from Win 7 to 10.

    While on my laptop HP programs and detection of the printer worked (WiFI), on my PC, it failed to recognize my printer that was installed.

    by pugging USB cable it acknowledged him as a scanner and it works through the program to scan windows

    Add another printer through the devices Panel found that web connected but does not print.

    Finally, in the HP site I found a download for WIN 10, but download constantely fails as begginning, even after the cancellation of the fire walls.

    Bottom line - I can't use my printer on the PC with WIN 10

    I'm having a problem with the installation of the software for the Officejet J4680. I am running XP, and when it gets to 96% it seems to stall then later a bit shows a fatal error during the Setup error.

    The printer is installed and I can print (wireless) but when I click on the HP Solution Center a note appears saying "no HP devices have been detected. Solution Center HP close now. "Then, of course, the software has not installed correctly. I hope that this is a common problem that can be fixed quite easy.

  • Unable to connect wireless J4680

    I'm about to throw my printer or my router by the window so I hope someone can help me. I have a j4680 I have only wireless to my Mac laptop and is unfortunately no longer under warranty. I had no problem when I had AT & T U-verse and used a 2wire router. I just moved and need to use Comcast internet and bought a Belkin router that is connected to a modem in my roommate's room. We use WPA security. When I try to set up the wireless through the printer and the installation on my computer, my network is detected with a signal very hard. However, when trying to connect through the front of the printer, I put the password (and yes I put it correctly), I get an error message saying that it can't connect. I even moved the printer right next to the router and it would not connect. When I try to connect through the installation on the computer, my network is listed, I click it and get an error message saying that the network cannot reach the appliance. I do not even have a chance to enter the password. I don't understand how 1) until there are 2 weeks my printer connected very well;  (2) my computer laptop, laptop of my roommate and my iPhone can connect to the wifi. and (3) if the printer can detect the network why not can it connect? Please, please, please someone help me.

    Here are some other tips:

    -Changing the channel from g/b to 11.

    S ' ensure MAC filtering is disabled.

    S ' ensure that you broadcast your network name (SSID).

    S ' ensure that your router has the latest firmware and is freshly restarted (by momentarily pulling the power plug).

  • OfficeJet J4680 fax failure - need some tips from a pro!

    I have an OfficeJet J4680 and has a few problems. I send a daily fax for a number, and sometimes it sounds as if she's going through, but then the note of fax has failed is displayed. The Party on the other line said fax machine NOT ring although I distintly hear 5 rings, and then a noise indicating it connected.

    Also, sometimes there is a fast busy signal and of course, this does not work as well. I am told that I am the only person having problems sending their number. And some days, it works perfectly.

    I ran a Test Fax Rport and everything. Any suggestions?

    This looks like a problem on their side. Use the Service of fax HP Test to test your Fax to send & receive faxes.

    HP has a number of Test Fax Service to test fax HP products. It is available in the United States only. The telephone number for this service is 1-888-HPFaxme (1-888-473-2963). The fax service receives faxes and returns faxes within 5-7 minutes to the number in the fax header. Note: You must ensure that you have your fax header completely filled in with name and fax number or you will not get a fax back service.

    Hi Jess,

    I'm sorry to hear about your problem with your Officejet J4680 giving you an error "on paper" when it is not paper. I understand that you have tried troubleshooting and it still won't print. I have considered this matter for you, and I found a troubleshooting guide for you to try, if you have not already.

    Also, just a tip is to ensure that the power is connected directly to a wall outlet, avoiding bars, surge protectors, etc.

    "Out of paper" Error Message and the printer is not looking upwards or the paper feed

  • My HPOfficejet j4680 wireless all-in-one printer error message says its offline

    I have and have used several times my HPOfficejet j4680 wireless all-in-One printer to print. But this past week it will not print. I keep getting error messages that says that it is offline or turned off. But the green power light is on. The blue wireless light is turned on. And the date & time is common and pulled down on the front.

    Yet, I just continues to be my what. Any suggestions? Thx John.

  • OfficeJet J4680: Officejet J4680 ghosts and print at an angle

    I have an Officejet J4680 all-in-one and he has recently started printing eratically.  No matter if it is print or copy again, gives the same results.  The picture suggests that the document is either slipping or getting stuck fingers in the stages of printing.  If printing is slower that it works better, but I can't get a full page of printing without a failure.

    Some lines are ghosts about one inch further down the page, some are printed in a light and appear to stretch, others are printed twice.

    Help, please!
