Jabber - groups of presence

Is it possible to separate the Jabber presence so that managers can see the presence of managers and staff, but staff cannot see the presence of managers or engage in chat, etc.?

I tried to work with groups of presence, but nothing helped.

Hello

I don't see such an option in jabber, the only option available is the option 'Privacy' that allows the user to decide who can interact with this user. Please see the following link

  • Integration: Jabber with VCSC

    Hi experts,

I'm new in the world of telepresence and I will install into a new customer a solution with VCSC, TMS and MCU.

The customer already has a CUCM with Jabber and they want to deploy the Jabber with VCSC, they want that, for example, a Manager actually a video conference with other offices through your Ipad with Jabber

I have not found a document with this configuration, can someone help me with the documentation of this integration?

With their experience of telepresence, including the complexity of this integration? Can give me of highlights and key points of this integration?

    Best regards

In addition to what Alok suggested, there are other things, you should consider:

    • The version of the recommended software is CallManager 8.6.2 and later (you can try 8.5.1, but there is no support BFCP)
    • It must integrate CallManager and VCS by following this document:

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/docs/Telepresence/infrastructure/VCs/config_guide/Cisco_VCS_Cisco_Unified_Communications_Manager_Deployment_Guide_CUCM_8_9_and_X7-2.PDF

    • To enable content sharing between registered in CUCM Jabber and the end point registered in VCS, make sure that your Jabber in CUCM devices have a SIP profile with BFCP protocol enabled, as well as the setting "Allow presentation sharing via BFCP" set to allow.
    • If you want to schedule conferences in MSDS for the Jabber in CUCM, you can add them to TMS as a 'room '. By using this option, you will be able to plan the Conference and the calendar control (it's better than using the Participant model)
    • About the phone book, you might have some problems. If your devices registered in VCS use device with an alphanumeric URI address, for example [email protected] / * /, you will not be able to add this contact to Jabber clients registered with CUCM, alphanumeric once is not supported. A solution would use only digital device address for all devices. About Jabber for Telepresence, you can define directories using TMS, in this case, you can add contacts without problem, either using a digital or non-digital address.
    • If you have endpoints another enrolled in CUCM who will call the end points registered in VCS, make sure your devices are running compatible software versions, mainly the videophones. It is strongly recommended to use the latest version of the software.
    • Be aware that Jabber for Telepresence doesn't support Instant Messaging, as the common Jabber support with presence server

    I hope this helps.

  • VCSE Jabber presence does not

    Hello

I have some problems with the presence, through the VCSE for a jabber client registered to one subarea other than failing the VCSE subzone.  In addition the environment uses AD for authentication of the client so the VCSE has the default area, sub-area by default and traversal area set to "do not check references" for auth policy.  When the customer registers to the subarea of default, presence works properly.  When I create a subzone to isolate a specific group of jabber clients, register of customers using their credentials of the AD (checked this incorrect password causes failures) but I get an error 403 policy updates to presence.  I need to create this subarea, so I can use a search rule that matches the subfield as source and then replaces the alias with a non routable target so this client group can only receive calls.  I tried to use the local list of CPL to do this, but once again because the VCSE does not all identifications CPL rules do not apply.  If it is a bug in X7.2?

    Jarrod Hey,.

You can do so by implementing the following:

The information below should help you get Jabber to authenticate correctly on the highway even if you push the control. Jabber must authenticate properly for the presence at work. After this is implemented your search rule should work as you wish as well as the presence and authentication.

In a secure design, the VCS (control and Highway) would require identification for registration information. Here is a drawing that is not described in the guides of the admin, but has been used successfully.

The Control of VCS would have Active Directory Service active and joins the Active Directory domain. For VCS authenticate the credentials of Movi/Jabber on Active Directory before the SUBSCRIPTION for the supply is sent to the service of commissioning, the default Zone would be set to verify the credentials. For requests for SUBSCRIPTION from the highway, the area on the VCS control would also to verify the credentials. It handles authentication for the provision.

The next part is the record of the Movi/Jabber client. The subzone to which the customer will register must also be set to verify the credentials. Here's everything you need for internal records (registration to the VCS control).

For the Highway, things get a little more complicated. For commissioning subscription, the SUBSCRIPTION is forwarded to the VCS control. With the area on the VCS game to check the credentials, you're all set. Now on registration to the highway. The subzone to which the customer will register to must be defined to check credentials. From the motorway VCS don't have direct access to Active Directory, we use local credentials on the highway. A set of credentials should be configured in VCS Configuration > authentication > devices > local database. You will create a single name and password all Movi/Jabber clients will use. The end user has NO need to know these credentials. The username and password is provided to the Movi/Jabber client via configuration data it has received. To set up these data, MSDS, you must configure a SIP of authentication user name and password for SIP authentication in the configuration of the commissioning. For these options to be available, you must ensure that you have downloaded the configuration template xml for the Movi/Jabber version you are using. The xml file is included in the zip package full of the client which can be downloaded on www.cisco.com. So, who will be recording from the highway. Now, this creates an interesting situation with VCS control. The internal Movi/Jabber client will receive the same provisioning configuration and will attempt to use those same credentials when you register for the control of VCS. The VCS control is already set to authenticate against Active Directory and Active Directory ONLY registration.

You will need to create an account in Active Directory corresponding to these credentials. The Active Directory account didn't need special access. It is used only for authentication purposes. A few things to keep in mind: SIP authentication user name and password for SIP authentication are stored in clear text configuration configuration. This means that the data is sent in clear text. To be sure that these data are not compromised on the wire, do not forget that you are using for your communication SIP Movi/Jabber TLS.

    Thank you, Adam

  • Unable to connect to presence server Jabber clients

    Salvation;

I am a newbie in Collaboration and to learn basics who set up a small laboratory including 11 CUCM, presence 11 and two phones 7821 Cisco. I have configured CUCM and presence and set up a SIP trunk between them according to the documents. I tried to configure the client Jabber on Windows, but in vain. first of all, I created some local users on CUCM and have some LDAP users that have been synchronized with a test AD in which both the presence and the CUCM are members of this domain. I set up a local users CUCM for Jabber Client and to configure as follows to configure the Jabber Clients according to the documents.

My first question is the format of the user name that should be used with Jabber. client Jabber said we use "[email protected] / * /" format, but I saw the videos on the Internet using normal user name and password. regarding the fact that I have configured a local user for the Jabber CUCM, I entered in the form of "username" but Jabber said the format should be as "[email protected] / * /'." "

the second problem is that even after writing the user name in this format, the Jabber said that 'not to communicate with the server'. I can ping the CUCM and presence server both by using their ip addresses and hostnames through my PC on which is installed the Jabber. also I wrote serves him the IP address on the Jabber client while trying to connect the Jabber instead of their host names. is there any requirement to be member of a single domain?

I tried Jabber for iPad to connect to the presence, but in vain too. y at - it knows no question or tips about the present? Otherwise, I can explain the steps I went through them to set up the presence and the CUCM for Jabber clients.

    best regards;

Because for the most part, allows you to know the details of connection SRVs and SRVs work based on the field.

You have successfully configured your SRVs according to configuration guides?

It is very likely that some missing config or a misconfiguration.

  • Jabber / presence Setup

Recently upgraded to CUCM 9.1 and I'm new to presence and Jabber.  From what I can tell most of the configuration is done on the side Call Manager now but I'm still confused if I need a stand-alone CUPS server and how do I know if I can actually put in place on my system.  Can someone provide suggestions?  Thank you in advance.  CUCM version:

    9.1.1.20000 - 5 CUCM

All the provisioning of users has been moved under CUCM, the IMP (CUPS) server is still the engine of presence and is required.

  • Problem of points of termination/Jabber presence

    Hello

We encountered a problem on the publication of presence of endpoints and jabber via Highway VCS.

These points of termination/jabber who are registered on the SCV - C do not publish "online" status, or a green icon on the phone book of the jabber, which is recorded on the VCS-E.

Also the two jabber users registered on VCS - E even publishes state of evil presence. It displays 'offline' even that they are on VCS and connection status is set on the jabber client.

No questions on the points of termination/jabber only recorded on VCS - C.

Jabber client registered on the VCS-E may appeal to the point of termination/jabber registered on the VCS - C and vice versa.

The VCS configuration - C and presence of VCS - E:

User agent SIP Simple presence: 'ON '.

By default the State published the saved settings: 'online '.

Server SIP of SIMPLE presence: 'On '.

User agent of presence and the State of the presence on the two VCS server are active.

Thank you very much for the help.

    BR,

    Hello

You must have the presence server enabled on VCS - C. The AUP should be enabled on VCS - C and VCS-E.

  • Is it possible to publish for Jabber presence information in the tourist complex?

    Hello

We run TMS 14.2.1, TMSPE v1, VCS x7.1

We organize several controls of VCS for several organizations, including the couple with potentially different motorways VCS. While the appeal of one domain to another is very well, adding that the contact for the alien to you field Jabber list does not have the ability to view their presence information, as it does when you add a contact to your own domain name. Is this possible?

    Chris

What are the parameters of your presence on the highway VCS? You must enable the user agent of presence and clear the presence server, so applications of presence will be sent and nothandled by the highway.

  • Jabber presence doesn't work not between VCSe and Express, but works if you are registered to the same VCS...

    Hello

I have a problem where the presence does not work between users registered on the VCSC and the VCSe.

If a user on the VCSe registers, they cannot see the presence of VCSe registered users, and even, registered on the VCSC users see only the presence of records on the VCSC.

TMS is running 14.1.1 with TMSPE

VCSC and VCSe run every two X7.2.

Both the VCSC and and VCSe each with authentication Active Directory (direct)

Wouldn't be better to have control of VCS and VCS Expressway with authentication Active Directory (directly) on the control of VCS?

    Thank you very much

    Rob

    Hello

in most cases, you want the VCS control to contain the presence information and VCS Highway to simply forward requests for control of VCS.
Should be set to the 'on' presence User Agent and server on your control and only the User Agent of the presence on the highway in position 'on '.

You can find more details in the VCS Administrator's guide.

  • Move the CUPS 8.6 to GI & P 11.0 - client for Windows 10.6 Jabber

    Hi community support

We are modernizing our environment voice of 8.6 to 11.0 CUCM, CUPS, CUC and UCCX including passage of MCS including Cisco UCS servers. Regarding CUCM, UCCX, and CUC I just finished these several times in the past and we have a detailed plan. Regarding the CUPS/Jabber, we always try to finalize the design of upgrade and after reading many documents and a few good videos by Jaime Valencia our particular upgrade scenario is still uncertain.

We were using Microsoft OCS and decided to migrate to CUPS/Jabber so we have 3 groups CUCM we created 3 only the CUPS server clusters (Let's put HA when we go to Cisco UCS, but at the time we had only 3 MCS spare servers) and they have peers inter-classes.

    • We use a single domain across all 3 groups.
    • 100% of our users use IM & P through integration of voicemail and calendar and call control
    • 10% of our users have also softphones
    • We do not use SRV yet for service discovery due to having 3 groups on 8.6 so we Jabber for Windows 10.6 bundled with Microsoft SCCM, specifying the Type of account as Cisco IM & presence and login server 'use the following server' that points to the Publisher of CUPS.
    • First time users will have to specify [email protected] / * / how he discovered the area, use only the user name and password to connect, after which its caching and all connections are automatic.

    My questions are:

    • When we improve CUPS 8.6 to IM & P 11.0 ourJabber for the client configuration Windows 10.6 will continue to work without modification?
    • We currently link to the Type of account 'Cisco instant messaging and presence', this allows us to use IM & P and the voice that is to control the calls and softphones, you would select Account Type Cisco Unified Communications Manager in what scenario?
    • We want to use SRV for the Discovery Service, but as we have 3 groups who are upgraded in an approach by steps are better wait we have updated all 3 groups, we can use a single SRV for multi clusters with ILS?
    • When you first connect to Jabber, you must enter [email protected] / * / while he discovered the field then we just enter username and password (less the field), the average of SRV service discovery simply enter the user name and password once without the specified domain?
    • This SRV for the discovery service also provides the AP for connection if the main server is down or is making another way?

    Thank you, Carl Ratcliffe

Yes, the configuration remains the same

As for the second question, read here:

    http://www.Cisco.com/c/en/us/TD/docs/voice_ip_comm/Jabber/10_6/planning-...

    http://www.Cisco.com/c/en/us/TD/docs/voice_ip_comm/Jabber/10_6/CJAB_BK_C...

As now CUCM is one that handles services profiles, which define everything, you want to use _cisco-uds

#3 Yes, you probably want to wait to get them all in the same release, then make sure THEY works very well, and then configure the SRVs

#4 Yes, the first time, it will ask for [email protected] / * /, once he finds the SRVs it caches the user and you need only the password.

#5 Yes, you can configure the SRVs for all servers in the cluster.

  • Cisco Jabber for Windows - Added new friend

    Hello

When I try to add a buddy to our internal directory, it does not work. For a short time the new boyfriend is in the buddies and then rinse... never again. In the presence of CUP Viewer, you don't see also no boyfriend.

When open UPC 8.5.x then, it works perfectly. If the two (Jabber and UPC) has started, add new buddy in! Jabber! and in the UPC he is there. Jabber is not not do anything this boyfriend.

If now! The new boyfriend UPC or Jabber logs by himself... it would have shown in the buddies of the Jabber Client at all times. But the other guy must be connected by itself.

    (1) file-> new-> contact

    (2) looking for someone

    (3) define the Group

    (4) add

External friends... added to the list works and they stay there.

    Here the break error report.

thx for all the help phil

One of your user names contain a space by chance?  Because I see a similar behavior and I followed it down to user names (and therefore IM addresses) that contain spaces fundamentally break totally Cisco Jabber, but CUPC 8.5.5 works very well with them.

  • Jabber Video (Movi) always showed "search failed: Server error.

    Hi, Experts

I have install X7.2 VCS, 13.2 TMSPE, I install the 'putting into service Phone Book' by 'Supply' and marked the group in access control, but the always shown video (Movi) Jabber client ' search failed: Server error "when I search contact.

This is because your default subfield is configured with the setting "do not verify the credentials" authentication.

Presence and directories to work properly, the default subfield must be configured as "Powers to check" (which is the safest) or "Treat as authenticated".

    Please see

  • Persistent Jabber authorization

I have a gchat account logged in Messages, and most of the time it works well.

    Hello

If you have an AIM account and drag several people instead of 'To' in the main window, you start a group conversation as you type the first message.

OBJECTIVE will number the chat group for you.

That being said I didn't have a number assigned by the LENS look quite as random as this picture shows.

Google have never been clear if they allow group conversation or not.

(Most Jabber apps can look servers and see the modules they are running and you can register for them - Google info via apps that can do this is too vague to say the least.)

Not all Jabber servers run the modules to allow group discussions.

    This site can help http://www.jabberes.org/servers/

You tend to click on the server name in the left column to see a link to their web site.

This a the info in a list form minimum http://jabber.iitsp.com/ , but he says he does Conference cats.

(Some Jabber servers, run "Gateways" that allow access to other services).

Have you been invited to a group conversation as far as you are aware?

Have you tried to remove the com.apple.ichat.Jabber.plist to see if it helps?

    It's in ~/Library/Preferences

You will have to access it by pressing the ALT key while in using go Menu in the Finder and choosing the library which appears and then go to preferences.

  • Sort of a group of numbers

    Hi all

I am reorganizing my digital signals by the presence of a front panel control that allows the user dynamically set the channel.

On the front panel, I have composed a set of unsigned integer typedef.  I want to sort this cluster in numbers and be able to exploit the case of the label.

I understand how to assemble digital waveforms with digital subset and add digital signals, but I do not know how to sort the data structure I created.

I do not know there is an easy way to do this and she escapes just me.  I'm on the right track with my data structure?

You can use a Cluster for the Array function to get an array of the values cluster.

You can create a table 1 d of channels where you hardcode the labels.  (There should be ways to get programmatically the labels in a script, but I don't think it's worth the effort).

If you bundle up your array of numbers with your array of strings so that you have an array of clusters (each element of the array is a grouping of the value and the string), you can then sort the table 1 d.

Even simpler.  It is not necessary to get the names of the elements of script.  I've added an example VI.

  • Jabber allows two UDS Server?

I have two domain. They are HK and Taiwan.

I connect two domain with VPN.

Can I use two services uds for contact?

Be setting in CUCM or jabber - config.xml?

If your question concerns two cucm different clusters then you can follow the deployment guide

    "Resolution contact with multiple Clusters.

To contact resolution with several clusters of Cisco Unified Communications Manager, synchronize all users in the company for each cluster directory. Implement a subset of these users on the appropriate group.

For example, your organization has 40,000 users. 20,000 users reside in North America. 20,000 users resident in Europe. Your organization includes the following groups of Cisco Unified Communications Manager for each location:

    • CUCM-cluster-na for North America

    • CUCM-cluster-EU for Europe

In this example, synchronize all 40,000 users for both groups. Available to the 20,000 users in America on cucm-cluster-na and the 20,000 users in Europe on cucm-cluster-had.

When users in Europe call users in North America, Cisco Jabber retrieves the coordinates of the user in Europe of cucm-cluster-na.

When users in North America call users in Europe, Cisco Jabber retrieves the coordinates of the user in North America of cucm-cluster-had. »

    http://www.Cisco.com/c/en/us/TD/docs/voice_ip_comm/Jabber/Windows/9_7/ja...

The guide does not have any support for the definition of two servers NODES diff in the jabber config file.

  • Windows Jabber client

I strive to Jabber Windows installation client.

I CUCM 9.1.2 and joined my announcement in CUCM. I installed Windows Jabber 11.1.1 and can login with my account AD information.

But now that I get. I have a red bottom left of Jabber. I searched help and he says:

Connection error. Ensure the server information in the PhoneServices tab on the Options window is correct. Contact yoursystem administrator for assistance.
However, I looked and there isn't a telephone Services tab in the Options window. So I looked further and found a document saying configure the instant messaging and presence. But then I found another document saying that IM and presence has been fully integrated in CUCM 9 and later. I don't have a presence server right now and don't even know if I need one or not. Until the tinykitty am supposed to do? Completely lost in ass of Cisco. I well it might be interesting giving Jabber to everyone but is just a confusion and frustration and more I work with Cisco more, I hate it.

You posted in the wrong forum, this forum was for the 'free' JabberVideo service that was received by Cisco, no Jabber.

Suggestions you move this to the Jabber Client forum where you have a better chance of getting a response.
