Keyboard combo which shuts the Synaptics ClickPad?

I have an Envy17 with a Synaptics CLickPad V8.1 3D.  Sometimes the touchpad is disabled via some combo mysterious keyboard or something that I'm dragging my hands on... I was not able to understand what I'm doing than ramdomly it turns off but it's frustrating and if anyone could tell me what it is if I can avoid it I would appreciate it.  What I'm doing causes the button turns off and the orange little bright upper-left the outer corner to come. It always comes back when I reboot... but what a pain this is! So if there's an easy way to turn it back on once I accidentally diasbled TI that would be helpful also.

Thank you

Leslie

  • Cannot change scroll setting reverse two fingers on Acer Aspire Synaptics ClickPad V8.1

    Hello

I just got an Acer Aspire (excellent camera) with the intuitive two fingers scrolling on the Synaptics ClickPad V8.1, so I tried to reverse the trend. I went to the Synaptics Touchpad settings and then went to the settings on two fingers scrolling, but could only check/uncheck the first two above (select vertical and horizontal allow)-the rest was just gray and could not be clicked.
Did everything back to default and even created new profiles to see if I could change it then, but nothing helps. I may not have rights (Administrator) to change? Before I installed Windows 8 running.
Please advise and thank the community in advance.
    Concerning
    Marco

I found the resolution on a post about another Acer laptop model.  It is real simple but I had technical support at acer ready to elevate my status of support at level-2.

1.) Control Panel > hardware and sound > mouse

2.) on 'device settings' tab, click 'Settings' button

3.) under 'Extra features', uncheck the option 'Zoom perfect.'

What are the features were previously unavailable for the setting (for example two fingers to scroll, Pinch Zoom, etc.) are now available to be adjusted.

  • HP ENVY notebook - m7-k211dx: Synaptics ClickPad will not be disabled. Reactive after reboot.

Whenever I have disable Synaptics ClickPad using the option 'disable the internal pointing device when external USB pointing device is attached', it works fine until I restart. When I return in the options, it is still once unchecked. I tried to turn off the drivers, but they are grey, but wan't to avoid this meathod ultimately because it is not ideal for me.

    Action taken:

    • Update to the latest drivers.
    • Disable the cache and history cleaning software.
    • Try different USB ports.

(That's fine, but when I restart it unchecks itself)

    Thanks, Mike

    Mike,

Sorry it took me awhile. I have all the "Nitty Gritty" details if you want, but the "net-net" is the update of this option writes in "HKCU" and there is a "HKLM" in the register which is default location and never changes.

I managed to do that work by changing the corresponding section of HKLM in the registry. It not be "rejected" at each logon as the HKCU section seems to be. The ICON remained "hidden" which is what I wanted to happen with the change below.

Try this and see if it works for you!

    1. open Regedit.exe

    2. go to the location next to the register:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Synaptics\SynTPEnh

    3. Note the REG_DWORD value named - TrayIcon

    4. the numbers of data match this way:

    0 x 0000001 (1) DEFAULT = which is the active ICON

    0 x 0000011 (17) = animated ICON

    0 x 00000021 (33) = disabled ICON

    5. change it to what you have been wishing, in my case it was 21 Hex or Dec 33 for DISABLED ICON.

    6. exit Registry Editor

    7. restart to test or log-off/log-on to test.

NOTE: If REG_DWORD is not here, it is probably safe to add it, but in my case it was already there it was just the value 1 and never changed when I changed the settings. Only the section HKCU did who has always retired at the end of my session when I disconnected or restarted.

Let me know the results! I hope it suits it for you!

    Hello

I got my HP laptop for a little over a month now, a week ago, my Windows 8 made a update, I rebooted my computer and all of a sudden my Synaptics Clickpad stop job.

I literally tried everything to solve this problem. I went through my laptop settings and my clickpad is not to see the like shut off, I disabled and allows him to make sure. I ended up finding a new driver Synaptics by HP.com, I installed it and my clickpad started working again. I restarted my computer and was able to use my clickpad on the login screen, but once that I logged it disappeared again. I tried to go through all the possible settings and there is nothing that solved my problem.

Some help would be appreciated, it's very disappointing because I've only had this laptop for a month and having to return it would be even more disappointing.

Firefox for mac tells me often (for security reasons I've enabled in preferences) that "firefox prevented this page automatically redirecting to another page. To 'allow', I have to move my mouse to the right of the screen and click "allow." There are not the essential functions, which is the same as the click of a mouse? • External keyboard works only after the restart with Port Replicator III Plus

The problem is that when I start the laptop, the external PS/2 keyboard does not work. When I reboot keyboard this one turns around and then I can use it.

This problem occurs on a laptop Toshiba Tecra with an Advanced Port Replicator III Plus. I used several keyboards, so this isn't the problem. I changed a value in the bios which is used for devices USB (mouse/keyboard). I disabled the option, because I use a keyboard and a PS/2 mouse, but the problem is not resolved. I hope someone has an answer to this problem.

    Hello

It will be interesting to know what model Tecra you use. Is it perhaps Tecra A6?

  • Synaptics clickpad fix - need driver windows 10 pilot with gestures

    Hello

I just upgraded to windows windows 10 8, then I have experinced the compatibility problems with the touchpad driver. I have uninstalled and installed a new driver link on another HP forum. The new driver fixed the problem and regained the touchpad abilty, but the new driver installed do not have all of the same commards as the use of two fingers to scroll up and down or maximizing and minimizing the use of two fingers on the touchpad. Does anyone have the link to download the new clickpad synaptics with the same functionality?

    Hello

    Try the following.

Download the Setup program of the Synaptics driver from the following link and save it in your downloads folder.

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp71501-72000/sp71867.exe

A when you're finished, open windows control panel, open programs and features, right click on the entry "Synaptics Device Driver" and choose uninstall.

When this has completed, restart the laptop.

When windows has completely recharged, open your download folder, click with the right button on the setup of Synaptics and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation.  When this has completed, restart the computer again.

  • Missing notification icon for wireless keyboard and mouse in the systray area.

Missing notification icon for wireless keyboard and mouse in the systray area. Was working before the hard disk crash. Had to reload Windows Vista 64 bit OS. Have computer model gateway GT5678.

Chances are good the software to include these icons in notification tray cam pre-installed on the bridge.  If you still all original gateway software, try to see if something in the menu start / all programs of the gateway seems as it can contain controls for these settings and run the program to check and see if it does.  If none of the gateway software help (assuming that all this is still installed) and re-installing the drivers did not work and there is no controls at the keyboard or the mouse, so I know what else to think.  These icons are not available with Vista - they were installed by a third-party device or software driver.

I'm sorry that gateway could not help you.  They are those that you need to do to solve this problem, because it is something that they installed with the original computer which is not re-installled after you change hard drives.  They should know what software for it and power point yoo to a download site, or you send a disk with this software.  We can't really do anything else to help you.

    Good luck!

    Thank you

    Hans

    Hello Hans,.

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I understand that the IntelliType software is not able to detect the keyboard of the CRA. The question could arise for various reasons, including a faulty hardware, damaged driver etc. I would suggest trying the following methods and check if they help to solve the problem.

    Method 1:

Run the hardware and devices troubleshooter. It checks the common issues of interest and ensures that a new device or hardware connected to your computer has been installed correctly.
Open the hardware and devices Troubleshooter

If the issue still not detected or resolved, proceed to the next method.

    Method 2:

I suggest you try to install TWO software provided for Windows 7 in the following link of support for Microsoft Arc Keyboard. Check if the keyboard is detected.

    Microsoft Accessories: keyboard Arc

If the problem persists, I suggest you refer to the following article which allows troubleshooting of common keyboard problems.

    Troubleshooting: keyboards

Hope this information is useful. Let us know if you need more help, we will be happy to help you.
