Keyboard not working external plus-clavier USB is fine

Hi all

My laptop has a blue screen and the keyboard no longer works, I plugged the external keyboard and re - install the windows, now half of the buttons are working and dosent half.

I wonder has the kyboard damaged, I'm not sure if I replace the keyboard this will work?

are there settings in the bios or any utility can solve the problem, could someone please advise?

Thank you
Nysoh

Hello Nysoh

On this virtual path no one can say with certainty what the problem, but if the internal keyboard is not working properly the first step is replacement of keyboard. If the problem persists then troublemaker can be keyboard or keyboard controller port.

As much as I know BIOS has nothing to do with this issue.

What they don't tell you in ANY textbook, is that the blue light on the USB receiver is actually a reset button!  With the receiver plugged into a USB port, I pushed the button/light until he began to blink.  What would you like to do next is to press the blue button (unlit) on the bottom of the keyboard until the blue light on the receiver STOPS flashing.  At this point, my keyboard started working again, and the mouse was fine.

    Hello
    (1) have you made changes before the start of this issue?
    (2) what is the exact error message/code?
A print spooler is software that temporarily stores the disk printing hard or in memory until the printer is ready to print. If you were expecting an abnormally long time to print a document, or if you see an error message about the print spooler, Spooler subsystem or spooler resources, you might need to change and then restart the print spooler service on your computer.

To do this, we recommend that you save your work and restart the computer to restart the print spooler service. If you do not want to restart the computer, try these steps.

To change or restart the print spooler service

You must be logged on as administrator to perform these steps.

    a. click the Start button, Control Panel, click System and Maintenance and then click Administrative Tools.

    b. double-click on Services. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    c. right-click on the print spooler service and then click Properties.

    d. on the general tab, next to startup type, make sure that automatic is selected.

    e. If the service is not already running, under Service status, click Start and then click OK. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

  • HP Pavilion Touchsmart 23 NO KEYBOARD not WORKING!

Well, I called HP, Logitech, Microsoft, you name it.  I recently bought a HP Touchsmart Pavilion 23 at our local office depot.  When we started to install everything and realized that a dongle is not included with the keyboard and mouse.  I called Office Depot and they me comped a new mouse and a keyboard WITH a dongle.  After you have everything installed and ensuring that there are fresh batteries, the grand has worked the mouse and the keyboard didn't work at all.  I called Office Depot again and they replaced, this time with a combo keyboard and mouse from Microsoft.  Once again, same problem.  The mouse worked fine, the keyboard... not so much.  After the last call with Office Depot, I went and exchanged to the option of keyboard and Microsoft with a Logitech mouse.  SAME THING.  The keyboard will not work.  I've updated the drivers, I changed the USB ports... You name it, I did EVERYTHING!

So I call HP... After having been suspended only once, but 5 times... I finally speak with Andraos and it lets me know that it is a real problem of Logitech.

I don't know what to believe.  Someone please help.  I don't know what to do.  This computer is about to go play in traffic.

Just been through this scenario with this exact model series. The small USB dongle has not been unpacked. The owner called me and we went through the entire area. He was finally found in clear plastic wrap. It is so small, that it has been neglected.

    Hi all!

I have a HP ENVY 15 t-j100 Quad Edition CTO Notebook PC (ENERGY STAR), and most recently updated Windows 10 Saturday (a set of recommended updates), and after parts of the update on my keyboard no longer works. The bottom three rows of keys work fine, but the top row is 1) keys do not work, or 2) keys randomly type other keys (ex. The 'P' key types';  5, 6, t and touch still works well, the rest do nothing). I have Windows 10 build 1511 and connecting an external keyboard (wired and wireless) and keyboards work fine. I ran a system restore to remove all applications, while preserving my files yesterday with success, no improvement. I also cleaned the keyboard with air compressed and removed the oil on the surface with alcohol isopropyl (to friction) (of use). In addition, my updates are currently blocked at 39%. I have uninstalled/reinstalled the drivers for the keyboard through the devices, and update manager different drivers through the HP Web site. I also have many resets have little hard done to solve this problem.

  • USB does not work with flash or usb HD drives

Lenovo T60 with XP Pro. USB flash drive appears in my computer, but must be formatted. If I click on the message in the format software generats the reader would noy be formatted. In properties-> volume are not met. If I click on fill to field will fill with the correct information. After OK everything will be gone. On an another identical T60, everything is OK. In the Manager of-> / place - >... it shows the correct information, the disk is online. Change the letter has no effect.

With USB HD even more interesting. A (350 GB) HD looks like 3 disks: 2 small HD and one HD unallocated. Yet once, it looks like 1 hd if I connect to other computers.

    Mouse and keyboard work fine.

I cleaned the reg. for usb devices. After that, if I insert the USB XP key will be detected and will show message that new hardware installed and ready. However, it does not work as I described above.

    I appreciate all the comments

    Hmm,

In this case I have to reformat all of my usb drives and usb HD even all of them are OK if I use other computers. I'll try it, but this isn't a solution. USB is not a big problem, but what is on USB HD?

Yes, I get you. Try it on the USB first just to see if it solves the problem. The question is of course with the Windows installation and how it's the disc but, re-setup of can not solve. This way if you still experience the problem after formatting the flash drive you will be one step closer to understand the issue.

  • Mouse and keyboard not working only not to the login screen

Hi, I was recently infected with Antispyware Soft virus. In my attempt to remove it, my screen went black, so I had to restart my computer. Entering my login screen, I was unable to connect because my keyboard and mouse no longer works. I tried to start the safe mode too and they still do not work on the login screen. However, they work at the start of the BIOS. I looked around, but I couldn't find any option for Legacy USB drivers. I went to a few USB option and select [Enabled] and it still doesn't work to the login screen. I have no PS2 port, so I can't try it. I was also able to use my mouse and keyboard when you attempt a repair of the system to do a system restore, but that solves nothing. I am at a loss what to do. I hope someone is late, as I'll be gone tomorrow/more day late today. I am writing a computer laptop and unable to remember any care my office except the fact, it's Windows Vista.

    Hi HellMuT1,

We recommend to use a different mouse and keyboard, then check the result. If the problem persists, try the following steps.
    1. Insert Windows Vista DVD.
    2. restart your computer.
    3. let the computer restart (boot) from the DVD.
    4. If you are prompted, press a key to continue.
    5. When you reach the screen install Windows, select your preferences in the language to install, time and currency format and keyboard or input method boxes, and then click Next.
    6. do not click on install now. Instead, click on repair your computer. The System Recovery Options dialog box appears.
    7. make sure that the appropriate operating system is selected, and then click Next.
    8. After you click Next, the System Recovery Options menu appears.
    9. click on command prompt.
    10. type devmgmt.msc and press enter
    11. on the window Device Manager, in the object list, expand mice and other pointing devices.
    12. make a right click the sub element and click on uninstall.
    13 expand keyboards.
    14. make a right click the sub element and click on uninstall.
    15. Type exit and press ENTER to restart the computer.
    16. remove Vista DVD and restart the computer to see if the keyboard and mouse works fine.

    I hope this helps.

  • Mouse and keyboard not working only not with the ERD in Windows 7 and Windows 7 install disc

I have a Dell XPS 8700.  I just did an upgrade to an SSD.  The DSS started once with no problems, then it wouldn't start.  I get an error message 1 MBR.

If I do a F12, I am able to boot from the SSD drive and everything works fine, but if any process requires a reboot it will not work.  IE, windows update that requires a restart does not update because it cannot restart.

To fix the MBR, use either the repair or install disk to get to the command line.  I have two drives and when I boot with them I get the initial screen of language/keyboard and mouse and keyboard do not work.  I have the keyboard and mouse installed in USB 2.0 ports, their was also in 3.0 ports with the same results.  They work fine until the disc over to install the files, and then they die.  I tried 2 different sets of keyboards and mice with the same results.

I also tried to use the Dell recovery disk and it did find and supposed to solve a problem when I ran in the beginning.  But I still get the MBR error.  The disc is represented and it did not find any problems and I wanted to reinstall windows back to the factory.

Suggestions as to how to get my mouse and keyboard work again with the repair and install discs would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Navneet,

    Thank you for responding.

Did you change the computer other than the upgrade to an SSD?

Yes, I have, but that was before the SSD.  I upgraded the video card and added a 1 TB of HARD drive data.

What is the complete error message you get on the MBR?

    The message reads as follows;

"MBR 1 error.  Press any key to boot from floppy. »

There is no floppy drive installed and I even tried to start with only the connected SSD.

    Are you an error code?

    No error code.

As for changing the BIOS, I am not satisfied with messing with the BIOS, if this isn't an option.

After thinking about this problem, I think that Dell has disabled somehow able to use disc repair/install "Windows".  I say this because they have disabled the ability to create a disk to repair Windows out of the Dell system and cannot create a Dell recovery disk.  Also because Dell has changed the MBR it wouldn't do any good to reset the MBR to the default value of Windows and the Dell recovery disk does not give you the ability to recover the MBR manually only.

I decided that the best option was to do a clean reinstall of the OS, and that's what I did.  Everything works great for now.   It is a PITA, but nothing that I have not done before.

    Thanks again for your help...

The mouse still works and the keyboard works at boot because I am able to choose Safe mode or start windows normally. I always stopped abnormally before getting the keyboard works. What should I do?

  • Keyboard not working on Lenovo Windows laptop and stuck on the login screen

I have a Lenovo WIndows 8 20157 laptop, the keyboard no longer works someday so I restored it.  At that time, I could use an external keyboard.  When the system rebooted, it got to the login screen and will not work.  The screen keyboard and the external keyboard does not work.  The only thing that happens when I use a keyboard (external to the screen, laptop), is that if I hit the button S power options developed.  I can not connect and I can't run it in safe mode.  Already, I have removed the battery and held down the power button, which has not changed anything.

I took it for someone who told me to restore to factory settings and there are drop down menu in the corner of the login screen, but sometimes the mouse works and sometimes it isn't.  For example at the moment I can't open easy access menu to open the keyboard screen, but sometimes I can't.  Any ideas?

  • Satellite L50 - B - 17 c - regional character keyboard not working properly

    Hello

I have Toshiba Satellite L50 - B - 17 c. After upgrading the BIOS to the latest version, some of the regional Polish characters do not work.
I'm not sure that just a rootcause is update BIOS, is also possible that other software using the same key combination.

    The keys that work well with alt together: 'e '. « o », « a », « l », « n », « s »
    Key that * does not work * with alt: 'z', 'x', 'c '.

Anyone could help with this problem?

    Thank you very much!

I've read about this problem of keyboard and it seems that this is caused by the BIOS.
Wait for the new update of the BIOS. Keep an eye on the Toshiba Service Station update messages.
Where new BIOS would be available, you should receive an update message.
