Laptop taking longer than usual to start time

Hello everyone. It's been about a month, my laptop takes about 10-15 minutes to get started (happens once in every 10 to 12 days, while usually it takes about 4 minutes). I turned off unnecessary startup programs, but it still happens.
My current operating system: Windows 8

RAM: 4 GB

HARD DRIVE: 500 GB

Graphics card: Nvidia GT640M

Thanks in advance...

Hi rap.

1. do you get an error related to the question message/code?

2. you did it any hardware/software changes to the computer before the show?

3. What is the brand and model of the computer?

Too many unused folders and subfolders can affect the performance of the laptop.

Method 1:

Disconnect or disable any external devices (printers, scanner, USB (universal serial bus) drives, sound card and graphics card etc.) except the mouse and keyboard and then boot\start the computer.
If this solves the problem, then add back devices at a time until you discover the piece of hardware causing the issue. Then get any drivers\software update for the device.

Method 2:

Run the system maintenance troubleshooter.

a. press the Windows key + W on the keyboard.

b. type Troubleshooting , and then click settings under the search field.

c. click on find and solve the problems.

d. click on system and security.

e. click on follow-up of the maintenance of the system; the guests there and check.

Method 2:

Check out the link and follow the steps to improve the performance of the computer:

Improve performance by optimizing your drive

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-CA/Windows-8/improve-performance-optimizing-hard-drive

Note: The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

Hope this solves the problem. If the problem persists, you can write to us and we will be happy to help you further.

When I turn it on, its fine all get the logo windows in no time, but after a black screen appears and remains for about a minute and a half, then the home screen appears, the startup sound in windows that is supposed to play as soon as the home screen plays on 40 dry aftr homescreen appeared.

    Help, please.
    Thank you.

    Hello

The laptop seems to load windows slowly because too many processes would be loaded initially.
First of all, I recommend to download and install the CCLeaner. This freeware tool would help you to clean the registry and remove the waste from the system.

In addition, you should check your processes that would be loaded initially.
Run msconfig and go to the Startup tab. Here you can disable any process necessary and not important.
I put t know how much computer experience you have so be careful with that.
If you n t know what exactly does the unique process, google for more details.
Remove a mark of close process will disable this you can later too

In addition, I would recommend checking your anti-virus software, I switched from Norton Antivirus software Avira Antivir because it is much faster and does not require a lot of hardware resources the Avira antivir is freeware software so you can install and use for free.

Last but not least to defragment the HARD disk in order to ensure access to data faster

    Good luck

First of all, please note that you asked that question you on Windows 7

But because the version of Windows without doubt whatever here, let me

According to what you clean, a 'disk cleanup' * may * help a little.
but the defragmentation is unlikely to have any effect at all. Nevertheless, it
does not hurt doing these things.

If the computer is running more slowly than usual, still probably the most

Why does take so long to load from the time wherever I power up until it takes to get to the login screen? help taking too long

You should take a look at your startup programs and decide what is really necessary and what is nothing more than useless clutter. There is nothing wrong with the startup programs, some may be really useful or even necessary for your personal needs. But keep in mind that many programs build to start when you start the computer and that most of them must not start when the computer starts, all they do is slow down your boot time and clutter of things when you're trying to solve problems, and some are downright harmful!

I mean, have you really need things like real Planner and Gadwin Print Screen running all the time? These programs will run very well, even if they are not started automatically every time that you start the computer. Go to these programs and change/disable their boot option. Some may be difficult to kill for public assistance services can be useful when you try to control startup programs. Try CodeStuff Starter, it's safe and easy to use, I think you'll like it, download it here:

    http://CodeStuff.tripod.com/products_starter.html>

Use AutoRuns to check axis start, Richard:

    http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902.aspx>

    Use Cclenar-> tools-> start

    http://www.CCleaner.com/download/builds.aspx>

I can't tell you what to keep, startup items it is a personal preference, but pretty well all the startup items indicated by CodeStuff Starter are safe to disable, and changes are easy to reverse if you change your mind. Searches for items it shows you and decide whether or not these things are really useful or necessary. Some programs will be started at startup without your knowledge and over time, that list can expand to include useless parasites, part of good computer maintenance includes regular control of these startup items and the removal of the unnecessary.

Suggest that you first spread malware as the cause of the problem by following these steps:

    I. - delete your temporary files

Clean the system (compensation to all temp/tmp folders and included all the content offline, the tif browser, delete the cookies of compensation.)

Do a disk cleanup. Click the Start button. in the search box, type disk cleanupand then in the list of results, click Disk Cleanup. Better and easier to use - ccleaner.

Download the basic version (slim) via

    http://www.Piriform.com/CCleaner/builds>

The basic version (slim) does not contain the toolbar disgusted

DO NOT USE ANY cleaning of the advanced options. DO NOT TOUCH THE REGISTRY OR TOOLS. At least not for now.

    Reset

II. - have your system scanned as a result of security/antivirus installed.

III. - download, install, update and run both of these tools to a-squared free scans:

  • Applications take more time to load than usual upward

Welp, it seems that I am slowly solve all my problems gradually. I hope that you guys don't mind help me again. : s

So I just found out tonight that my programs take longer to load than usual. Like, for example say that when I open Windows Explorer, it normally loads the thing whole file in less than a second. But when I got home today, I discovered that it takes 1 to 2 seconds to load the screen. The computer itself is not so slow. My Internet is fine and I'm typing this without any problem. But keep in mind, I noticed what happens as soon as I logged in, then it may be nothing to do with the slow transformation or whatever. However, windows start on the "Windows is not stopped correctly - please select the startup option that you want to load windows" or something, and then there ' start it in Safe Mode "etc..
Although I stopped him correctly, if I recall accurately. I press the turn-off button in the start menu and let him do his own thing, so I don't know why it does this, because it normally only that when I "force close" my computer, aka holding down the power button until it turns off. Also, after I chose the "start Windows normally" option, he has been blocked on the 'Windows logo ' loading screen for about a minute before it instantly loaded to the top of the login screen.
I hope this is enough information. Although this could just be a simple matter to restart the computer to solve the problem. I will restart after I have this post and update on the issue. Also, I remove a Trojan recently. I know that the Trojan horse was not too old, because I recognize the directory or the program it was found, as it was a program that I removed. But I will now reboot and see what happens. If you guys have any other advice that would be great.
    See you soon!

Update: Yep, all I had to do was restart it. Ridicule me. : 3
Well, it works fine now. Hooray! : D

    Hi Lachlan,

Anything can be corrupted on your MacBook Pro, but from what you say, it seems that the cable drive/SSD/flash memory/SATA hard was seriously damaged. Him "question mark" means that your Mac is unable to find any bootable device, meaning that it does not yet detect your OS X drive.

You should make a backup of your files (if you can still do it) and take the Mac at the Apple Store or dealer to get a diagnosis. There may be several damaged parts.

    Hi motionpicturedirector,

It is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer is causing the problem.

I suggest that you configure the computer in a clean boot state and check if it helps.

  • XPS 15 much warmer than usual, running for the last week

I have a XPS 15 laptop with SSD drive and plenty of RAM which usually remains cool. Last weekend he installed an update of Windows 10 (I think it was the version 1607). Since then the fan worked upstairs while the laptop is turned on and it feels warmer than usual. The CPU load can be less than 20% for an extended period, but the fan continues to run. I managed to go back to the previous version of Windows and it has not changed.

The only thing that worked partly is to limit the maximum level of the CPU at 50% (I tried to use this setting on the battery and then unplugged the laptop). This cut the fan at a lower level, but I never had to do before. So far, the fan would rarely work at all.

What is going on? Do we need updated drivers?

It's very strange. I was watching the new to-do Manager trying to figure out why it's so hot when the CPU load is 20%. Upstairs, he said Intel Core... @ 2.2 GHz. On the right, it indicates the maximum speed: 2.2 GHz. On the left, he said speed: 2.9 GHz (sometimes going up to 2.8).

If I put the State of maximum CPU at 99%, it falls down to 2,18 GHz, if I put it at 100% it goes back up to 2.9 GHz. I don't remember what he showed before it started, but this sounds very wrong. In both cases it is going above 2 GHz, even if the processor is not much used, but I guess it's ok if it is not overheating. It is already cooled down in a few minutes and I'm waiting to see if the fan breaks down.

Apparently he did this during the last week and a half. What happens here? Dell release a updated driver overclocked my CPU?

  • Slow down the start-time program: 13 Yoga Win8

    Hey guys,.

I have heard some other people about this problem, but could not find a thread on this subject.

A few days after I got my 13 of Yoga, I noticed that programs including metro apps, calendar, weather, etc., can take longer than 15 seconds to load up whenever I try first to launch. In addition, there will be moments where a metro app load for 20 seconds and then the report just an error message it crashed.

Everyone knows this? Outside of Office 365, Chrome, and Firefox, I have not installed anything on this computer.

    Any suggestions?

    See you soon!

Thanks VFC. This suggestion seems to have worked.
I use McAfee Internet Security that comes with the Yoga13 - and when I disabled it 'Analysis in real time' my programs are now open almost instantly and are much more sensitive. I don't know if there is a problem with this particular material not like McAfee so much, or maybe its just McAfee. I know Norton has worked great on all my systems. I will try to move on to the next.
