If I create a 'MyProject_pt_BR.rrc', the plugin gives me an error because it cannot find the file 'MyProject_pt.rrc', and if I add to this file because it cannot find the file 'MyProject.rrc' instead.

  • bios problem 4540 s and more

Is in serious trouble with my 4540 s, which is about two years old.  The bios seems to be completely dysfunctional.  I can't via Esc, or pressing the key which I want, for example the F9 key to select the boot device.  The machine runs on Ubuntu linux and I found out that I deleted the partition HP_TOOLS both from the recovery partition.  I have now restored the partition HP_TOOLS, but cannot fix the bios.

The machine indicates that the hard drive is defective, even if I can apparently read it without problem on my Mac.  However the machine will not hop on the hard drive to try to boot from the drive internal CD/DVD, or a USB CD/DVD drive.  I have not yet tried a usb key.

After a period of running, I found I could not, for example, delete emails in T-bird, by clicking on an icon would not open the program and I could not close some programs.  Sometimes the only way to turn off the machine is by holding down the power button.  At present, start not at all, but simply traverses the verification of simplified hardware and he is there with the HP logo on the screen when I'm out of the race.

Remove each chip memory of 4 GB or placing them in a replacement window has no difference.

I'd appreciate any help with more tests that I'm able to perform in order to identify the problem.  I wonder if it may be the motherboard, because I guess that the bios is there.  However, I would be much more certain before I think to buy a new motherboard.

    TIA

OK, I'm reaching here... not that familiar with the unit that you are handling.  But the machine can be configured for UEFI Secure Boot, but you are trying to boot from old media?

First: try to switch on/off the machine while pressing F9.  Select the legacy device (no UEFI) / media option that you are trying to boot from.

If this does not work, take a look at HP - Secure Boot - Troubleshooting computers (don't worry about the fact that it is a doc of Windows 8), and then search for "cannot boot from a CD or a DVD.  Follow the instructions to adjust the machine to boot from an inherited resource and to ensure that the legacy resource appears in the order of precedence before the hard drive.

  • Clean install of an installation of Lenovo. DVD: UEFI vs Legacy + installation according to Lenovo Thinkpad user Guide

    Machine: T520 purchased February 2012

    O.S. W ~ 7 Pro 64-bit

I want to wipe the hard drive, buy a Lenovo W ~ 7 DVD installation of PRO and make a completely clean install.

The user guide for Lenovo (.pdf), Ch. 8, Adv Config, installation Windows 7, p. 295 (298 212) said:

Start the installation of Thinkpad, choose UEFI against Legacy, and then insert the installation DVD.

This of course does not apply when the hard drive has already been erased (required to 100% remove all traces of damage caused by a virus, including the recovery partition (Q-drive).

When an intallation DVD is purchased from Lenovo, is not the first step to insert the DVD? Then there is probably a resulting install wizard an O.S. restored?

If this isn't the case, please tell me what are the surprises in store, and where I can find a reliable resource to consult written!

    Thank you.

    Hi, Z

Sorry, but I'm not all-new advanced in the understanding of the apparent contradictions, or how to proceed.

It is not the case in this case that the Lenovo User Guide is referring to one of several types of clean install, and that he has no idea the other methods?

If my first step to reinstall the version of Lenovo's W ~ Pro 7 is to use a 3 rd-party app to remove completely all the files from the hard drive, how do I then perform any action before inserting a facility provided by Lenovo dvd? I know that the BIOS software is separated from Windows, but it's still there? Alternatively, is the User Guide of Lenovo referring to a situation in which a first is not a so-called "hard drive wiping" before to start a clean reinstall? In addition, if a wipe everything first or not, is the guide referring to an installation of Microsoft (generic) dvd and not wearing only not on a Lenovo purchase? I think that an installation DVD purchased from Lenovo back on my computer, exactly what was there before and ask me not to make decisions as the UEFI against Legacy (in fact, the words "UEFI" and "Legacy" are not yet in any computer on my computer profile file.

On the other hand, if the L ~ the User Guide instructions apply in fact to a hard drive wiped, the Guide says absolutely nothing about what criteria to use to make this 'choice' between UEFI 64-bit and 64-bit legacy.

(When the Lenovo user guide instructions raise more questions than the original question, then these instructions are worse than no instructions at all!)

  • Cannot boot from CD - DVD in LEGACY mode - NO Secure Boot UEFI NOT

You just bought an Optiplex 7010 minitower with Win 8 Pro 64 - bit, 8 GB of RAM, 500 GB HDD and an Intel i5 processor 3470.  Now he has BIOS version A16.

It is normally ON UEFI and Secure Boot on IT and F12 at startup does NOT normally display the CD-DVD as a boot option.  OK - no problem.

However, if I reboot with F12 and select UEFI OFF (meaning WE legacy) and Secure Boot SHUTDOWN and reboot, then F12 DON'T show me the CD - DVD as a startup option, but if I actually try to boot from a bootable CD, I get an error message.

I practiced with two CD bootable - a Knoppix I did on a XP machine an Aomei Backupper I did on a Win 7 machine.  These CD working as in my old XP machine boot CD, and the CD of Backupper of Aomei worked someone else machine Win 7 Pro 64 bit.

    What's wrong?

Again, please let me repeat that I am trying to boot from the CD-DVD AFTER I have turned OFF UEFI, turned on the legacy and off Secure Boot.

    Thank you.

Speed - although you predicted, I am amazed at what I did today.

I bought a second hard drive (in white) and installed Win 7 Pro 64 - bit SP1 on it.  (I unplugged the first hard drive which has my Win 8 Pro 64-bit.  (Later to figure out how to dual-boot - no not yet for that.)

What struck me is that I have installed SP1 for Win 7 Pro 64-bit while my BIOS is UEFI - it's ON UEFI and Secure Boot off.  (Enable Legacy ROM is enabled.)  BIOS is the Windows Boot Manager.  The Win 7 Pro 64 - bit SP1 DVD ran perfectly on my CD - DVD unit - no problems of any kind.  The machine has restarted several times, as I adjusted it settings and added the resource of Dell Media CD drivers.

Disk Management displays only two partitions - a little with the legend "Healthy (EFI System Partition)" and then my C:\ drive, which is indicated be NTFS and 'in good condition (boot, Page File, crash dump, primary Partition).  The properties for the entire drive 0 said "Partition Style: GUID Partition Table (GPT).

Now - is it good or bad?  If one day I try to dual-boot, what is incompatible with the four partitions on my hard drive to win 8 (now offline)?  Install this fake Win 7?

I'm even more amazed than the Win 7 Pro 64 - bit auto installed SP1 with a product key that is different from the product key for my Win 8 Pro 64-bit.  The Dell OEM Windows 7 installation disc done by himself - I don't have to enter anything.  Which is good news for a future dual-boot, Yes?

I have NOT yet connected to the internet.

Now, when I unplugged my hard drive of origin WIn 8, I disconnected the Sata data cable and used for the new hard drive Win 7 added.  If the new hard drive is connected to data SATA motherboard even as the drive of origin 8 Win.  Well, at some point when I use two hard drives, one of them should be connected to another plug SATA on the MB - but not yet.

Well... How do I fortunately to this stage so far?

  • Windows 8 BSOD conflict resource with parport.sys

We have helped our clients in their transitions from older systems on Windows 7/8, specifically to ensure that some legacy applications will work properly on the new systems.  Some of these applications require the dongles for software protection that use parallel ports with DB-25 connectors.  We have been able to make applications for work in systems of Windows 7 by installing a PCI or PCIe parallel port card, but can't make it work on Windows 8.x systems:

    1. The parallel card works fine on Windows 7 systems.  We have the enforcement (DS1410D.sys) device driver and the driver of parallel port of the supplied system (parport.sys) loaded with the LPT1 printer port and the functions of the application as expected value.
    2. Same configuration would cause BSOD on Windows 8, due to the REFERENCE_BY_POINTER error.
    3. 8.x Windows would start if the printer port is set to something other than LPT1.  However the application device driver would then not be able to detect the dongle.
    4. The only difference between Windows 7 and Windows 8 is the parallel port driver.  Parport.sys file version is 6.1.7600.16385 for Windows 7 and is 6.3.9600.16384 for Windows 8.

It seems that Microsoft changed something in its parallel port driver that triggered the conflict of resources.  Everyone knows the same problem?  Anyway to get around the problem?

All Vijay suggests is that the contributors there are more experienced in handling the type of problem you are having, if after your query here.

  • "Fatal error: 10 (from resources)" - ESXi 5.5 U1 with motherboard ASUS Z87-DELUXE - VSAN Homelab

Looking for help to build my 3 node VSAN Home lab.  This section of discussion has a lot of details to help someone else in the same boat as me (present or future).

    The goal:

Operation of a laboratory at home with ESXi 5.5U1 where the primary storage is VSAN.  Prescription: 3 hosts at least 2 cores and 8 GB of RAM and at least a SSD and a SATA drive for each host.

    The problem:

When I try to install ESXi 5.5 U1 on my host (ASUS build details below), I get the message "error loading tools.t00 Fatal Error: 10 (from resources)" during the installation process. Installation process is one USB Flash drive to another.

When I install ESXi U1 5.1 on the same system, everything works perfectly.  Installation process is one USB Flash drive to another.

    Not yet tried ESXi 5.5.

What I've done so far?  Too much to mention, but here, it's where I made some progress.

Custom installer images ESXi to take in charge the following (according to the ESXi Z87 - PRO, Adaptec ASR-6805E, 5.1U , experience before VMware: How do not support SATA AHCI Controller with ESXi 5.5 and http://www.derekseaman.com/2013/08/building-haswell-esxi-server-vsan.html):

Set up the parameters for the 'Advanced' in the BIOS (F7 in option):

    • Reset the default BIOS (option F5)
    • CPU Configuration - advanced, "Technology of virtualization Intel" ENABLED
    • Start-up, CSM, Boot - devices only (UEFI disabled) legacy
    • Startup, SVM, Secure Boot - "other OS".

What settings BIOS configurations / had no impact/weird behavior?

    • When I plug SATA and SSD controller SATA Intel colors 'Brown' ports, ESXi can't see readers at all, no matter what VIB files, I add to the ISO image.  So, I had only work with yellow ASMedia controller ports.
    • I have disconnected the SATA and SSD drives, disabled the Intel and ASMedia controllers.  This did not help.
    • I disabled the office equipment that has no benefit to ESXi (Advanced, Onboard Devices Configuration) - controllers SATA Intel etc., embedded wireless, Bluetooth, Audio.  This did not help.
    • Thinking that Thunderbolt could be a problem, I tried to disable adapters Thunderbolt (Advanced, Onboard Devices Configuration) and then I had problems with the start-up of the image ISO of ESXi.
    • I even added this http://www.virtuallyghetto.com/2013/09/running-esxi-55-on-apple-mac-mini.html Mac Mini Thunderbolt pilot ESXi ISO image, without success.

    What I intend to do?

    • Upgrade firmware Z87 DELUXE (BIOS update tool does not work, "Violation of security checking" reports, will probably have to install Windows 7 to use the updater tool).
    • Try to install ESXi 5.5, then use AUVS to update 1.
    • Continue to build the whole environment with ESXi 5.1 U1 to burn and continue troubleshooting ESXi 5.5 U1 on a single host.

What is the hardware configuration of ESXi host?

    • Card mother ASUS Z87-DELUXE-DOUBLE (integrated RealTek & Intel I217V NIC, adapters Thunderbolt, 'Brown' Intel 'Yellow' ASMedia SATA connectors and)
    • Information of Z87-DELUXE-DOUBLE BIOS ASUS 1008 x 64, EC Version MBEO-Z87-0224, ME Version 9.0.21345, Build Date 17/05/2013
    • HASWELL from Intel i7-4770 LGA1150 processor
    • 2 x Corsair Vengeance DDR3 8 GB of RAM
    • 1 x Corsair SSD Force 3 240 GB disc
    • 1 x Western Digitial Green 2 to SATA Drive
    • 2 x Corsair 32 GB USB Flash Drives (one for ESXi ISO image prepared with UNetbootin - homepage and downloads and the other is the ESXi startup disk)
    • No PCI-e adapters (using the integrated storage controllers and network)

Once I get it working, I'll update this thread and provide a detailed http://www.vcdx133.com/ report

Upgrade to ESXi 5.1 update 1 for ESXi 5.5 Update 1 via esxcli worked.

Intel Z87 Serial ATA controller is not recognized by ESXi.  Don't know what driver is missing, but the ASMedia Serial ATA controller works.

  • With the help of OPA must replace the system Legacy Code

    Hello world

I wonder if anyone has any advice on the use of OPA for model rules extracted from a system inherited and written in languages such as COBOL or PL / I. For example, is there a recommended approach to annotate rules for posting a link to legacy code - metadata vs. inline comments? All resources to recommend?

    Thank you
    -Patrick

Rather than trying to use Cobol (or the translation of any programming language) as the 'source' for the rules of the OPM, the preferred approach is to use the requirements or the originals of politics as the definitive 'source' to capture policies in the documents of the OPM. Of course, many orgs have exceeded keep their requirements or other docs in sync with the actual code, so that they consider now the code "rules". The difficulty to create and maintain the traceability to the 'rules of source code' rules OPA will depend strongly on how the source code is documented and if it is already organized into components based on a rule, functions or other constructions. For example, the lines of code that compares the current values of the variables to other values, constants or the results of the function will have little sense without the context of why this verification in the code. Whereas, individual functions that validate a specific condition or policy can map to OPM rules in a more direct way and improve traceability.

A recommendation is first reverse translate code in a document containing the rules / requirements enforced by the code (i.e. ask why this code is and do what he does). Once that document is accepted, then use this document as a document source for the rules of the takeover bid. Of course, write the requirements of OPM "conclusion if conditions" style will greatly speed up the step of writing rules OPM.

I think you'll find the most difficult part to document the link from the source code with any well-organized document of natural language (unless, as mentioned, the code is already organized to align with policies / requirements). The traceability of OPM documents to other documents or files can be accomplished with the MSWord features, including hyperlinks, bookmarks, home, comments, etc.

  • El Capitan & Legacy Photoshop

I installed El Capitan in January 2016.  HUGE mistake, because I was not able to use my Photoshop CS3 since then, and I'm an artist.  I lost business as a result of the loss of Photoshop.  El Capitan does not allow me to install Java 6 legacy, and I'll be doomed if I have to pay a monthly fee for what I already have and have Adobe hostage my work if I stop paying.

I'm afraid to go to Sierra, because this last nightmare with El Capitan.

What can I do to get Photoshop CS3 to work again?  If it is not possible, is there another program like Photoshop (and Adobe Illustrator, who also no longer works) is not require a monthly fee, to replace? (I'm looking for this answer for months, and nothing I saw was useful.)

I was browsing some legacy files in my archive DVD containing old projects of the time 7 OS and now I am unable to remove my trash of 2 of them. There are two pesky files that contains a "NULL" character at the beginning of their file name. I can't move or rename, so the folder hierarchy that contains rest too.

I can't rename the files. When I move or empty the trash, this error message is displayed:

Help, please! What can I do to get rid of these pesky files?

    Hello

This is a known issue with OS X 10.11, that has never been set.

    FC.

Cannot delete/rename/move a file of Windows with a special character

    https://discussions.Apple.com/thread/7409456

    Workarounds include:

    (a) start the machine problem in OS X 10.10 or an earlier version and delete the file from there. or

    (b) connect the machine problem started in disc Mode target of another machine booted to OS X 10.10 or an earlier version and delete the file from there. or

    (c) to initialize the volume where the file problem.

This seems to be a serious regression within XNU. I wonder if it is fixed in OS X 10,12 or not.

    Good luck
