Linux installer is unable to find the local hard drive

I try to install CentOS 5.2 (a derivative of Red Hat Linux) on VMWare Fusion 2.01. I can run the Installer (graphical mode) to the point where he asks me how I want to partition my hard drive. At this point, I can't continue as Setup can not find a disk hard - the box saying 'select the (s) to use for this installation' is empty. If I click NEXT, I get an error (obviously). Any help would be appreciated.

When you created the virtual machine, what type of operating system prompted you chose? CentOS 5.2, I would suggest RHEL5, since it is the guest of farm taken supported. The reason by selecting the correct prompt when creating virtual machine is important because it influences what virtual material is used, and some clients do not come with drivers for some hardware (and therefore will not recognize it).

  • Installation directory must be located on the local hard drive error

    Hello guys,.

I have a problem with the installation. When I run the setup of reflow of Edge, it is said: Installation directory must be located on a hard drive - so it can not be installed. I think that there is problem with msi TR. I had the same problem when I installed edge animated, but I solved, because I found something on the internet about this: http://forums.adobe.com/message/4959285 . Now, I tried to do the same thing, but it does not... any ideas? Thank you.

Oh, I'm sorry, I forgot to tell you that I have already installed the software successfully. I used sowtware EMCO MSI Package Builder Enterprise which helped me install on board reflow. Anyway thanks guys for the help! :-). Thank you especially for you :).

  • Linux installation - I can not find the installation script

I'm trying to follow the LabVIEW for Linux installation guide, but I have a problem. This post will be long, as I will try to tell you what I've done so far. I am also kind again on Linux, so I don't know there are a lot of things I don't know.

    I try to use http://www.ni.com/pdf/manuals/374718a.html#installing

    and http://www.ni.com/pdf/manuals/375845d.pdf

First step of the guide is to insert the installation media "' and run

    # sh. / INSTALL

and it's pretty easy. Or at least it would be if I had no idea where that sh file is. I requested a copy of the installation discs for my University (I install on one of their computers), and they said that while they do not have any what Linux install disks, they were pretty sure "it's here somewhere," whatever that means. This seems to be the extent of their knowledge about linux.

On this disc is a folder named slcp10 with the content slcp10.cab, slcp10.mis, and slcp200_mft.cab, which are all of the files of windows and as far as I can tell cannot be run under linux, unless I'm using WINE, which is clearly not the way to go.

I have also some ISOs from the Department of licensing website, but also, no one seems to know anything about installing Linux. After you mount the ISOs, I see that they contain records Bin, Common, Distributions, licenses and Readme (which is full of all kinds of trivial things). They also contain the files academicsitelicense.html, asladminresource.html, autorun.exe, autorun.inf, nisuite.xml, patents.txt, readme_core.html, setup.ede and suite_md5_1.xml, which none do look promising. Again, I know only how to install .exe files using WINE.

I have since then turned to the internet to try and download directly from OR and went to http://www.ni.com/download-labview/ and selected ' already own LabVIEW? Download the latest version. From there on, I select the drop-down list for alternative OS and select MAC OS x I read somewhere on the help pages OR that it would work on a linux machine (which seems logical, that the MAC is UNIX-based, right?). Well, it gives me a file dmg (apparently some sort of file mac?) I found a way to use Linux by extracting in 7zip and then ride the hfs file. It always seems to be some sort of evaluation program because it contains LabVIEW2014Evaluation.pkg, readme.html (which takes me to the installation of OSX readme-useless), installation_guide.pdf (again, only for MAC and useless for me), drivers.webloc and Extras files and licenses.

I'm at the end of the roll, man. I feel that I'm taking crazy pills. I've never had so many badly installed a program before in my life, because technically I haven't yet started the process of installing again, and I'm already about to defenestrate from my computer. Please help me. I don't know what else to do, and I don't know there is a very simple solution that I am too ignorant to see.

Our lab run us windows, and cake installation. After learning Linux over the last months, I never thought I would say this, but in fact, I would like to have a machine windows right now.

Well, I managed to get installed it, but only because I found another ISO of site licensing department which had linux install files. Curiously, this unique ISO is a bit 3 GB while there are three other ISOs each come at least 7.5 GB. Are there really that many missing packages on Linux?

Sorry if someone reads this has similar problems, but the best I can do is tell find Linux installation disc.

  • How will I know ESXi installed on the local hard drive or usb or SAN?

    Hi all

Here, I have IBM Storage node flex and midsize, this storewize is divided in two. I want to know where my esxi os installed? all orders to find?

    Hello

So you can run esxcfg-info-e and you will get your startup BACK type, it will be either visor-thin (means ESXi installable, means in general you are installed on the local disk or SAN), visor-usb (ESXi embedded, usually means you are installed on USB or SD or visor-pxe to PXE deployment.)

If you want to go further, you can run ls-lisa/dev/discs and you should be able to identify your device initialization as one with a load of partitions, as the vm1.0000xxxx entries in the result below:

To further clarify, go back to your ls-lisa/dev/discs out and now you know that you have the right device, enter the path to your drive ID, in this case, mpx.vmhba32:C0:T0:L0, then run esxcli nmp storage devices list | grep mpx.vmhba32:C0:T0:L0

and you will get your device nickname, so:

~ # esxcli list of nmp storage device | grep mpx.vmhba32:C0:T0:L0

    MPX.vmhba32:C0:t0:l0

Device display name: USB Direct - access Local (mpx.vmhba32:C0:T0:L0)

Hope this helps, this should be good for ESXi 5.x and above all, I believe, something you might need to sub partedUtil for fdisk.

    Good luck!

The G25 AV513, isn't supposed to have 2 drives, one with 120 GB and the second with 60 GB? I see only a drirve in "My Computer".

I erased my computer and re-installed Windows XP operating system since the original CD Toshiba I chose option 3 "Striping" of readers. I'm supposed to see the two readers in "workstation? I have a total of 180 GB of memory? According to 'My computer' I see the C: drive and its total capacity is only 111 GB.

I also tried to reinstall the operating system using two other options, option 1 using installation default Toshiba who said I can mirror to another date by using RAID, but I got about 45 GB of memory with this option, and it was the same for option 2, although about 45 GB.

Once again, showing only a drive in "My Computer".

    > Isn't the G25 AV513 supposed to have 2 drives, one with 120 GB and the second with 60 GB?

This seems to be a series of Toshiba laptops we.
I searched a few details and found the info on the Toshiba page we:
    http://www.CSD.Toshiba.com

There are two hard drives (2 x 60GB)
You can check this in disk management and you will find the available disks.

  • Find the replacement hard drive

My laptop is HP Pavilion g6 1004tx. For the past 18 months, it shows "drive SMART 301 error" and asked me to back up my data, what I have done.

Now, I want to replace the hard drive and install Windows 8 but it's hard to find the right disc for this.

    My point of confusion are:

    1. the laptop manual, it says: "supports the following 9.50 mm, 6.35 cm (2.50 in) SATA drives: 750 GB at 5400 RPM, 640 GB 5400 RPM" and so on... I'm not being able to find any disk in the dimension (ie. 9.50 mm * 6,35 cm).

    2. may I go to hard drive to 500 GB (as I don't believe in hard disks now!) or there will be no problem if I insert a hard drive that is less than the original?

    Help, please!

    Hello:

The only problem you will encounter if you install a hard drive smaller than the original that came with your laptop, it's the possibility of very good recovery disks do not have to reinstall the operating system.

Most of the time recovery disks does not work on any drive smaller than the original-same 750 GB to 500 GB.

You just need a hard disk of 2.5 standard laptop ".

    Hello SidBloggs,

Did you first disabled automatic updates by following these steps: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Turn-automatic-updating-on-or-off

Once they are off have you tried every day updates individually and you determine who updates is causing the problem with your hard drive?

Maybe it's just that the update interferes with the driver that you have for your hard drive and it may need an updated driver.

  • MacBook retina cannot find the USB hard drive when it is plugged again

    Hello world

I have a MacBook retina 2015 computers and a hard drive WD elements USB3 that I use as a Time Machine backup when they travel. The drive is plugged into the USB - C through one of the Apple dongles and when I first start the computer, the USB is mounted and that it appears on the desktop. He does everything very well.

When I want to take the machine away, I eject it, wait for the secure message and then physically disconnect the drive. However, when I go back and reconnect the drive, the Mac did not see it. The reader will be able as the light comes on and I can hear it turn. Just, it is not mount and is completely invisible for MacOS.

I checked all connections, even used another dongle - no luck. A disconnect does not set, and I tried to reset the NVRAM. So far, the only solution is to reboot the Mac, afterwards the player reappears - at least until I need to unplug it again.

Anyone got any ideas what is underway and if there is a fix?

    Thank you very much

    Mike.

    Hello, Mike Richards2,.

Thank you for using communities Support from Apple!

This is I think understand that you are not able to see an external hard drive when it is ejected, and then reconnect the computer.  I have some suggestions that I hope will help you.

It is important to try to isolate what is responsible for this.  The first thing to do to help isolate what is causing the problem is to start the computer in what is called Safe Mode and see if the problem persists.

    Start in safe mode:

    1. Choose the Apple menu > shut down.
    2. After your Mac stops, wait 10 seconds, then press the power button.
    3. As soon as you hear the startup tone, hold down the SHIFT key.
You must press the SHIFT key as soon as possible once you hear the startup tone, but not before.
    4. Release the SHIFT key when you see the gray Apple logo and progress indicator.

OS X El Capitan: start in safe mode

Once the computer is running in safe mode, see if you can duplicate the issue.  If the problem does not appear, go ahead and try to reboot normally again.  If the problem has disappeared, it may have been caused by a problem of file or directory of cache fixed by booting in safe mode.

If the question comes up, you'll want to check the login items.  Follow these instructions to remove the connection:

OS X El Capitan: If you think you have incompatible connection points

Remove the connection, restart the computer and see if the problem persists.

    Have a great day!

Have you tried to uninstall and reinstall the USB controller drivers?

If so, have you installed latest drivers from the motherboard chipset?

Follow the steps below and check if it works:

1 download the drivers for external hard drive from the following link and check.

    http://www.Samsung.com/us/support/downloads

    2. click on the link to the HP Web site below to download the latest drivers. Search for drivers related to USB / external peripheral.
