loading windows 7 on hp pavilion a810n feasibility - need to reply to the questions in the thread

I got 1 response to my initial questions but I also followed questions that I have not received help with.   Also, here is the latest news.  I updated my old hp pavilion a810n 7 Edition windows xp home premium today.  Device Manager shows yellow exclamation points on ethernet controller and multimedia audio controller.  I ensure that I can't connect to internet because of these problems.  These two are fixed if I get some new material.  I gave the link, but I'm confused by all the different types of shows.   Please look at the thread and help me determine what I need and what should be the specifications so I can order the good part.  I'm new to this so any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a hp pavilion a810n with 2 GB of ram, 160 GB HDD, 3300 + AMD athlon 64 processor, processor 2.4 ghz, 760 SIS mirage 2 speed graphics.   I would like to install windows 7 64-bit on this machine.   I ran the windows Upgrade Advisor 7 and he pointed out 2 things that I should be concerned: 1) support Windows Aero.  It is said that my current graphics card will not support the Windows Aero user interface and if I want to enjoy the benefits of Windows Aero, I must contact my manufacturer to check if an upgrade is available.  (Does that mean I need a new graphics card?)  If so than that?)    (2) siS 900-Based PCI Fast Ethernet adapt.  It is said that before installing Windows 7, I have to go to the device manufacturer's Web site to download the latest driver for this device. After I installed Windows 7, I have to install the registered driver.  (I guess that the HP site would have the necessary driver.)

If I do things the Advisor indicates, will I have a good experience with windows 7?

    Thanks in advance

HP will not have the drivers for your model and Windows 7. You should still be fine with some adjustments like adding a real Ethernet card. Regarding the graphics-Windows 7 works very well even without downforce.

Your motherboard specifications shows a video card AGP slot and 3 PCI slots which means that you could add a real video card if you wish, although the AGP cards are becomes hard to find and required PCI network card:

  • I need to display a corporate tutorial site which is only supported by Microsoft Windows.  Is it possible to load windows on an external hard drive and a MacBook to view the Web site?

I need to post a tutorial for some training company corporate site only supports Microsoft Windows.  I'll buy a MacBook in the coming weeks when I go to training and I wonder if there is a way to load windows on an external drive and launch it on my MacBook?  I know you can use bootcamp, but I don't want to burn up that much of my Flash memory by placing it on the MacBook itself.  I have a 1 to Seagate that I use on my iMac at home for Time Machine.  Could just operate with Windows on it to visit the society tutorial with my MacBook?

Boot Camp will not allow that.

It is possible that one of the many emulators Windows for Mac can allow you to run with such a disk configuration.

  • HP software for the HP Pavilion dv6-6117dx (need to recover without the System Recovery Manager

So I installed Windows 8 but has been forced to delete all partitions, then I installed Linux Mint 14 Nadia, now I'm back to Windows 8 and I want to get Windows 7 Home Premium back or Windows 7 Professional (law of demotion of Microsoft)

And I can not download the software that HP provides when you first set up your computer, but now I have no HP Recovery Manager or Assistant, so I need to reinstall all the programs and go back to Windows 7 Home Premium. But I don't want to spend money on it like spending $15 on 2 stupid recovery disks, what a scam! OK can someone help ASAP as Im on Windows 8 Professional

If you do not burn your recovery using HP Recovery Manager disks before you delete all partitions there is no way to download the files now. You place your order of recovery disks is the best option.

If you can read the Microsoft Windows 7 of 25-character license key attached to the bottom of your laptop, you can download a Windows 7 ISO file to burn to a DVD. It must be the same version that is listed on the Microsoft COA sticker. Windows 7 Home Premium

  • HP pavilion elite e9017c needs to recover, but the habit

Currently I have a Hp Pavilion Elite model e9107c equipped with windows vista and it won't work. I left my house 2 nights ago and when I tried to use my computer today it wouldn't work, so I restarted. He is now showing me a screen that says "Windows did not start. A recent change in hardware or software may be the problem. "It gives me two options to choose from which are launch startup repair and start windows normally. When I try to boot normally, it won't let me. and I chose to run the repair of the system. I don't have recovery discs and want to restore the factory settings. I think my computer has one hard drive more small that contains factory settings to restore, but I have no idea how do. How to do?

    Hello

Shut down the PC.  Here tap f11 as soon as you press the power button to see if it will start the Recovery Manager - you can then use it to reinstall the operating system.  The process is explained in the guide on the link below - starting A recovery from the hard drive and the computer is turned off.

If you wish. You can order a set of replacement recovery disks using the link below - I think that there is a small charge for this.

If you have a problem with this link, order them directly from HP here.

    Hello

    1. have you downloaded the stand-alone package for the service Pack 2 or are you using Windows update?
    2. you also try to install Windows 7?

    Method 1.
Run Disk Cleanup and disable the security software and then try to install the same and check.
See the article below for disk cleanup:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310312
Important note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

    Method 2.
If the problem still exists together own starting the computer and attempt to install the service pack.
How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" State
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310353
Note: After that troubleshooting is complete, configure the computer to a normal startup. See the "steps to configure Windows to use a Normal startup state" section in the article above.

Also, it is recommended to install the Windows XP service pack 3. Reference:

    I hope this helps.

If you are prompted for a driver to support the hard drive during the installation of Windows? It's because the Manager of storage on this laptop isn't RAID, AHCI and Windows 7 isn't this RAID driver available on the installation disc. But fear not only intel makes the driver available here:

    https://Downloadcenter.Intel.com/download/24779/Intel-rapid-storage-technology-Intel-RST-RAID-driver

You need the F6 driver for 32 or 64 bit one correct installation that you do.  If 64-bit, you must f6flpy-x 64.zip. These are compressed files (.zip). Download the .zip to a different computer and extract the .zip to a USB key and when you reach him point the Windows installation when it is asked for a driver, navigate to the location where the files were extracted from the thumb drive. This should allow you to proceed with the Windows installation.

  • New Pavilion g7-2220 will not load Windows to start-up

    Hello

I just bought a new Pavilion g7-2220 and am just finishing the initial commissioning.  All registration modules and guests of live recording of MS are fine, but then the computer will not load Windows.  He explains in brief it is impossible to load Windows from the hard drive in a small dialogue window, then restarts and brings back me guests for the first time again.  It is supposed to be preloaded with Windows 8.

Any help would be appreciated.  Again, this computer is brand new.

    Thank you.

    Hey Shannon3363,

I'm very sorry to hear that you are having problems of this kind out of the box. The first option, I'd watch is an Exchange. If this is not a viable option, you can reset the operating system. This is a very simple process.

    1. prior to turn on/off the laptop, press in and hold the escape key

    2. press the power button as usual to start and hold down ESC until you see the Menu Start Up

    3. on the Start Menu, press F11 to go in Recovery Manager

    4. choose your keyboard

    5. click on troubleshoot

    6. click on reset your PC

    7. select just delete my files

Leave about 30-45 minutes for the reset is complete. If you're still having problems with this load Windows normally, please let me know. Once again I aplogize for the inconvenience. Depending on where you have, there could be several reasons so that he can behave in this way. If you've got it to a brick and mortar store, technicians will provide implementation services and anything can happen during this period. I'll keep an eye out for your answer!
