Loading Windows Mail, I get a dial-up connection box. I am unable to change it to use my connection to the local network.

original title: windows mail locks

Loading windows messaging, I get a dial to the top of the connection box, when I go into properties, connections, accounts, the software locks so I can't change it to the connection of LAN so not e-mail. There is no dial-up access on this computer.

Remove your e-mail account.  Then compact and repair the database (see www.oehelp.com/WMUtil/).  Then add your account to mail back again and see if its fixed.  Also pay attention to the problems of antivirus in WinMail: see www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3

  • How can I disconnect from the internet but to maintain my connection to the local network in Windows 7?

I need to disconnect internet to my PC Windows 7 while maintaining my LAN network. Can anyone help?

    Hello

If you want to disconnect Internet on the Windows 7 computer, then you can follow the steps mentioned below. These steps would help you to disconnect from the wired connection, while the connection is still active.

    (a) click Start.

    (b) type network and sharing Center in the start search bar and press ENTER.

    (c) in the left pane, click on change adapter settings

    (d) it would be to open a window with the connection to the wired LAN.

    (e) now, right click on the wired LAN connection icon and select Disable. (Provide the password if necessary).

    (f) it would disconnect the computer from Windows 7 to connect to the local network.

  • Is it a bad idea to use ICS on a Windows 98 computer for a Vista laptop to connect to the local network?

I recently added another computer on my network that moved the connection cable free use to connect my laptop. Unfortunately, I don't have a 4 port switch. I have an old PCI 10/100 Ethernet card available from a dead computer, but the only machine that has slot machines and pilots is my Windows 98SE print server. My modern system uses PCI - X, and there are not any drivers Mac OS 8.6 for the card.

Wouldn't be a good idea to turn on Internet connection sharing on this old Win98SE machine so that I connect my laptop on the network through ICS? I use the laptop at home very often except to transfer files to the desktop and 3/4 of the time that I use a flash drive.

My network is behind a hardware firewall of a Linksys BEFSR41 cable/DSL router/switch.

I heard about the security issues with Win98 and all that, are there additional risk with ICS?

Oh, and no, I don't have a wireless access point. I recently acquired the laptop and don't really need at home.

Win98SE ICS can be unreliable, but I don't think it poses a security risk for the laptop that connects to it.

Browsing the Internet on the Win98SE computer itself can be risky, because there has been no update security for Win98SE in a long time, and it is difficult to find an antivirus program that runs on Win98SE.

  • CQ60-210US reformatted for Windows XP Prof, but it does not connect to the wireless network...

Long story short, I tried recently to "downgrade" my husband computer CQ60-210US laptop from Vista to XP.  I followed the very detailed guide posted here and everything seems to work great but my computer does NOT connect to my home network.  It comes as an available network, but when I try to connect it goes on to say that the network is no longer available - is yet to ask security key.  I tried to click on the connection to a neighbor to see what would happen and it seems to go further (it asks me the security key).  I can connect directly using the ethernet to the modem cable.

This laptop was initially working on my network wirelessly with Vista.  I use a CLEAR 4 G wireless modem.  The signal from the modem is good.

Can anyone help me identify the problem and propose a solution?  Everything else seems to work well.

    Thank you very much!

Try to uninstall the Atheros driver, you have now and install another:

  • Connection to the local network disabled in Windows 8

    Hi team,

I disabled the Local area connection icon in 'control network and Internet\Network connections '. I thought that I can enable it immediately, but now the icon is not available in "network connections".

For this reason, I couldn't create a WiFi hotspot in my laptop. The error message is attached below:

I understand that it is because 'Local Area Connection 14' does not appear in 'my properties to Mobile Broadband' for sharing network.

So, please guide me to activate/create the 'Local Area Connection 14"and help in the creation of WiFi hotspot.

    Kind regards

  • Is it possible I can get the virtual computer connectivity after restart to connect to the local network in the host operating system?

    Hi all

For some reason, I have to disable and then enable the LAN connection in the host operating system. If some virtual machines are running during this time, connectivity all VMs for out-of-world are lost, they cannot connect to the host even more (by running the ping command). I tried a few methods to retrieve the connectivity, but all have failed, for example,

    1. reboot the virtual computer

    2. restart VMware Workstation

    3. restart the corresponding system services in the host operating system

The only way I can retrieve all is to restart the host operating system itself.

Yes, is there short any path, I can retrieve the connectivity of these virtual machines?

    Thanks in advance.

I use a Broadcom NetLink (TM) Gigabit Ethernet NIC, shows the date of the pilot 2006-5-15, but it works well, I think.

Try installing a newer driver.  According to the site, you should be able to find a driver dated 2008 or 2007 (depending on which exact model of NetLink card you have):

1 came out of safe guard 360

Sometimes out of some firewall programs is not enough (they keep still themselves installed in the network of the host stack, even if they are 'closed').  You may need to uninstall to make sure that it is not interfere.  (Search the forums for support for your firewall software see if anyone else is having problems with vmware and 360 safe guard).
