Windows could not start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To solve the problem:

    1. Insert your windows installation disc and restart your computer.

    2. choose your language settings, and then click "next".

    3. click on "repair your computer".

If you do not have the disk, contact your system administrator or computer manufacturer for assistance.

    File: \Windows\system32\config\system

    Status: 0 x 0000225

Info: Windows could not load because the system registry file is missing or corrupt.

Enter = continue or esc = exit

I put in the repair disk and need to "select" system none were so I click Next and let it run for the night, about 12 hours later the blue progress bar was still in progress on the same window so I guess it doesn't work anymore. I would like to reinstall windows, but I can't drive to format...

    Go into the BIOS

Then look for boot options, or boot order
Change the boot order to boot from the CD / DVD rom (i.e. does not start from the HD, boot from the cd to install disks).
Now you can do a full reinstall but that your last resort.
  • my screen is black on vista won't reboot in safe mode or in any other way

Message from McAfee says that my computer was unprotected to solve this I used their virtual technician reconmended he found 4 fouls and said he would fix the (reconmened) when he said that they have set to restart my computer. Now, left with black screen, I can't start even in safe mode or any other method screen remains black. Is this the end of my computer?

Start the PC and immediately after passing keep hitting F8 (once per second). I hope that you will be presented with an option to repair your computer. Select this option and then you will see several repair options.

Use the system restore - make your PC back in time to before that this problem occurred. You may select to show older than the recommended restore points.

Do not confuse the system with a 'factory restore' restore which will wipe your hard drive, including data, before putting the PC back as it was when you took delivery. Such an option should be a last resort. If in doubt replica with the options in front of you. Details of your PC can help too (brand/model).

IMO you should abandon McAfee and replace it with Microsoft Security Essentials. Your PC will be beneficial both in terms of performance and stability.

  • Blue screen. Windows does not start. Even on Safe Mode!

When I turned on my laptop the windows logo and everything is in place. But then comes the black screen and ask the options to start windows normally, start in safe mode, ect. I chose to start normally, then a blue screen appears which says that the computer has shut down to prevent damage. He said that I had to disable all anitivirus and other things that I don't have to read. I tried every other selection as start in safe mode, start in safe mode with command prompt, in the other options, I get the same blue screen. I really need to get this problem fixed. I have no CD of installition XP, I have no CD of restoration, I have nothing to work with, so I just need to know a way around it.

There is no magical way around that without any installation disc. Most laptops come with a picture of factory restore on a special partition on the hard drive. The factory restore process is normally called by pressing a key of function (such as F11) to start the computer. There will be a message as to what function key press the screen when you start your computer. You can also consult the manual of your computer or the computer mftr.'s site, or contact technical support to learn how to restore your computer if you plant from each computer mftr. He does it differently - sometimes even between models.

These machines also generally have a utility to create physical recovery disks in case the hard drive needs to be replaced or the factory restore image is somewhat damaged. If you have not created the recovery image recovery physical and damaged disks, contact technical support of computer mftr. to order a set of recovery disks. It is normally very expensive, around $20-25.

Before you try to restore the computer, you must determine if the material is good. You can test yourself:

    http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Hardware_Tshoot

A good troubleshooting step is to start with a Linux Live CD. I like Knoppix, but there are others. This has two advantages: 1) if the system works, you can back up all the data that missed your last backup; and (2) with the machine running Linux allows to determine whether the problems are caused by software or hardware. If the machine is unbearably slow and/or Linux cannot run correctly, you know that the hardware is at fault. If the machine behaves perfectly under Linux, you know that the software (Windows) is at fault.

If the equipment is faulty, if you replace it or not depends of which component is bad and the age of the machine.

If the material is good (maybe Windows has been severely infected with a virus/malware and that's why he no longer starts for example), then perform a restore if you plant using any method has been provided by the computer laptop mftr.

If you can't do the work yourself (and there is no shame in admitting this isn't your cup of tea), take the machine to a professional computer repair shop (not your local equivalent of BigComputerStore/GeekSquad).

If the HP recovery process does not work, it seems to be a hardware problem.

And now that you mention have a blue screen.

If it was a software problem, the process of HP recovery to reinstall the operating system should fix (take it back in new condition).

And this new condition would exclude any incorrect hardware drivers may have installed the original problem.

    Have you tried HP support?

    Or assistance HP Forums:

    Edit:

HP recovery process, you get the possibility of a destructive or non-destructive restore. If you use non-destructive recovery option, often have the same problems continue.

The problem continues when you use destructive recovery too.

  • Satellite L300-29U - Vista crashes, even in safe mode

Hi, I really hope there is someone out there who can help me, my laptop does not work (properly) more, and I don't know what is the cause.

    * The short version: *.

Two days ago my computer froze all of a sudden for no apparent reason. It did not (without Ctrl-Alt-Del, etc), I could only move the pointer. Since then, has happened repeatedly, even in safe mode. A potential clue: runs chkdsk c: \r \f results in a blue screen.

    * Details: *.

I have a Satellite L300-29U (about 3.5 years) with Windows Vista.
Two days ago the computer is not responding, after running normally for a few hours. I had not installed a new hardware or software. Even the clock had stopped. Only the pointer could be moved, but clicking on had no effect, or no has Ctrl-Alt-Delete. I stopped him via the power button. It restarted normally, I opened it then Firefox, but shortly after the same problem has emerged.
I selected the Mode without fail to start and then let my antivirus (Avira) program a complete check of the system. The computer froze again after about an hour and 30% in the analysis. (Curiously, the timer showing how much time had passed since the beginning of the analysis was still running, but had stopped the clock of the computer.)
Later, I tried another full analysis and again once it froze. Before that, I ran a few quick scan negative that came.

In general, I find that Windows starts fine, but in normal mode it freezes pretty quickly when I try to do something. In safe mode, it freezes more quickly, but it's still sometimes.

I also tried the "repair your computer" option at startup.
    -System Restore does not help
-Memory Diagnostic is not a problem

Searching online, I found suggestions for select command prompt and try to chkdsk. My conclusions:
-chkdsk c: /f gives no indication of errors. The only thing that might be unusual is the following message at the end (translated from Dutch): "cannot transfer the log to the event log messages. Status 50. »
-chkdsk c: /r /f results in a blue screen, each time to the same point in the process, namely, the 4th stage (verification of the data of the file), after having transformed the 133 634 files. The blue screen that appears shows the following:

    -----
    QUOTE
A problem has been detected and Windows has shut down to prevent damage to your computer.
    (...)
    Technical information: * STOP: 0 x 00008086 (0x00000000, 0x00000000, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)
    WORDS
    -----

    * Things I have NOT tried (again): *.

-Execution of TOSHIBA hard drive recovery
    -Formatting the hard drive

Why not try these again is that I still have a glimmer of hope that he might be up to a corrupt file, and I don't want to use a gun if it turns out to be a mosquito.

I tried to look online for questions asked by people with problems and similar symptoms, but I find not only the case with some similarities, not exactly the same thing.

Any suggestions? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.

    > Two days my computer froze all of a sudden for no apparent reason
Above all it s sign parts hardware problem as a module of memory or the motherboard can cause this.

    > Since it happened repeatedly, even in safe mode. A potential clue: runs chkdsk c: \r \f results in a blue screen.

The command chkdsk access and HARD drive tests so it could also be that the HARD drive is the troublemaker.

From my point of view, you should start the recovery and should set the device to the factory settings.
If the device would not work even after you have used the factory condition, I guess that one of the mentioned parts malfunctions.

  • How can I fix Vista freezing occurs regularly during the connection of 5 min post (even in safe mode)?

http://I'm under Vista Home Premium (Service Pack Friday updated last 01:00) on a Sony Vaio VGN-AR830e and there are only two users. I am quite experienced with error correction, but this one left me speechless: Mark my system of completely right on five minutes after the connection freezes every time I start up, even in Safe Mode. System entirely unresponsive and must be restarted by pressing the power button - no other keys will work. This question has been occurring every time I login since 15:00 yesterday. I figured I could have picked up Malware, but I cannot run any programs I normally use to diagnose in the five minute window - they start and freeze. I can, however, run in Mode safe mode with command prompt without the freeze, but I am limited in my knowledge of CMD coding, so I need instructions. I was able to run sfc/scannow... Report = Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to solve some of them. Details ate included in the CBS.log windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log newspaper. For example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log I'm on this forum via iPhone, so forgive me for not being able to write more in detail. Thank you, Eric

    Hello Eric,

If the machine is running in safe with command prompt Mode, but no Mode without fail, my first thought would be that we conduct issues shell or a problem with Solution Explorer.

On the other hand, if we had these problems, I expect not boot in any mode for 5 minutes.

That being said, I'm going to recommend something that I hardly ever recommend.  Safe mode with command prompt, run a SFC/scannow.

More information can be found in the following article:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833

If that fails, we will run some hardware diagnostics on the machine.  These will be provided by your manufacturer.

    Hello

    Two suggestions for you.

Malware to disable your firewall and your safety programs.

Scan of Malware in Safe Mode with network.

    Windows Vista

    Using the F8 method:

    1. Restart your computer.
    2. When the computer starts, you will see your computer hardware are listed. When you see this information begins to tap the F8 key repeatedly until you are presented with the Boot Options Advanced Windows Vista.
    3. Select the Safe Mode with networking with the arrow keys.
    4. Then press enter on your keyboard to start mode without failure of Vista.
    5. To start Windows, you'll be a typical logon screen. Connect to your computer and Vista goes into safe mode.
    6. Do whatever tasks you need and when you are done, reboot to return to normal mode.

Once in Safe Mode with network, download and run RKill.

RKill does NOT remove the malware; It stops the Malware process that gives you a chance to remove it with your security programs.
