  Since the upgrade of our PC from XP to Windows 7, we have experienced a huge loss of functionality when printing our of Officejet Pro K5400 (cannot print to the edge of the pages, can not specify substrates, change the resolution, etc.)

  Our HP reseller from whom we bought the printer actually just washed their hands of this issue "that's the way things are, HP are better than many other manufacturers to provide drivers for the existing hardware, update of the operating system".

  It seems ridiculous to me that HP will feel it is reasonable to not continue to support relatively recent kit parts that work well - just another example of built in obsolescence? Is there a way we can restore the missing feature? How about you, Vista driver - is that have relevance?

  Come on HP - standing behind your product and we restore the characteristics that we need to make this useful printer once again!

  I am a rural small repair shop and received a HP/Compaq Presario CQ60-615DX to repair the loss of function of the keyboard and the touchpad. My first thought was that the Ribbon connectors came loose. However, when I first turned it on, the keyboard worked to enter the Windows password. Once started, the keyboard would not work. My client had a major sale/repair company and their solution was to install a keyboard on the screen and use a wireless mouse. I started my research in this tthinking of problem that perhaps it was caused by malicious software. Fortunately my client gave me the AC adapter while I was looking for input on the laptop voltage. It wasn't on the outer label, so I removed the battery. I reinstalled the battery and was amazed to find that both keynoard and touchpad work now.

  What could have caused this loss of function and why would be to remove and reinstall the battery solve this problem?

  It's probably that the battery actually acted as a hard reset.  A hard reset has the effect to remove remaining current EEPROM and other devices on the motherboard.

• Loss of function of mouse Scroll Wheel

  I took a leap and a leap of faith, the upgrade to Firefox 3. something to 11.0. I work through awkward differences in the user interface, but I'm having a problem with the scrolling.

  I can't put my finger on any particular website or the size of the page, but I find that sometimes my mouse wheel will stop working with Firefox and I have to use the scroll bar to scroll through a document. Once he goes, he went. I can move to another tab that previously scrolls with the wheel and it is no longer made.

  It is perhaps too early to know for sure, but I think that my problem, loss of the scroll wheel of the mouse in the web pages after visiting one or two particular websites and some time, navigation is not a memory leak problem as some have suggested, nor a funky extension, but rather a problem of mouse driver. I am using an IBM mouse brand with the driver bundled with it rather than the standard driver from Microsoft. removed the IBM mouse driver (and mouse) and installed a mouse of brand store using the standard mouse driver Windows XP. This has not hung up again within a few days of use.

  If I have a memory leak problem, I don't think I've met the result of it still. The program (which currently use 10.0.4 ESR) appears to be stable, no crashes, no crash and, Hooray! no problem scroll wheel mouse.

  I miss the function 'button magnifies' with the IBM mouse driver (it also works with the generic mouse when the IBM driver is loaded), but I would lose this function than to lose the scroll wheel and must exit and restart Firefox to retrieve.

  Recently, I changed Win XP to Win 7 on my Macbook (required by the work programmes) which succeeded after a few facilities. Anyway, now there is loss of several functions of the keyboard on the Macbook since installing Win 7. Does anyone know how to regain control functions; CD or DVD eject, speaker button (Fn + f8 or f9 or f10) function the last of them is the trackpad settings are not adjustable?

  Recently, I noticed a loss in a function keyboard, or maybe Im abusing the term "loss".

  The function in question is the alt + shift + right click (in windows) to change the hardness of my brushes.

  To be fair... the function actually works, however I seem to have lost the visual references of a color indicating

  the hardness of the brush. Ive went into Control Panel and tried to change the color of the red by default to several others, but

  nothing seems to work. I know that I can use shift + right or left support also, but I would really like to find the real

• Qosmio X 770 loss of function after the Win 10 update key

  Hello. I recently upgraded from Win 7 to win 10 via download, and my function key does nothing. The Eco utility also is all out of wack and does not seem to meet. Don't know how else to describe it, other than that. Appreciate any help.

  Best option is to clean, install, chuck all the Toshiba bloat including all the so-called eco and Windows power management stuff to. Trust me it works much better. I was obliged, in a clean installation, after that the SSDS failed recently. Surprisingly, Windows took care of all the drivers on my 870 X and the laptop works perfectly, my only concern is the CPU time that seem too high, maxing out at 90 degrees for the games, but about to take it apart and redo the radiator paste on the CPU/GPU cooler. Time GPU is OK, around 75 degrees max.

  However, the downside for me was some F keys no longer work. WiFi but is now just WiFi/Bluetooth power, speaker volume, microphone, display, and the display brightness all work but the power touchpad is not. Multimedia keys don't seem to work either (play/pause, track skip) only the screen brightness, volume, and multi display keys have a graphic, none of the others don't.

  Toshiba does not support Windows 10 for anything earlier X - 70 has. shameful when you pay a lot for these Qosmios. Don't buy Toshiba again when the X 870 dies, not only I don't think it's a shame to not offer better support on products like the Qosmio series, the X-70 b is now little more than a toy with his R9 M365X AMD, not more powerful than a Geforce 940 M GPU to!

• Satellite L750 - loss of function key FN

  Toshiba laptop Satellite L750, Win Home Premium Sp1. FN key no longer brings up the bar at the top of the display function. Toshiba VAP is installed.

  Start / all EGP/Toshiba/Utilities/Flash Cards active function ok keys but does not work after a reboot. So, does that mean flash cards is not enabled at startup? Don't know how long it took place, but I know that it worked initially. At this point, I did a "clean boot", don't know if this has anything to do with this minor problem.

  Apart from this, the computer works great! Any ideas appreciated.

  Well, uninstall the VAP system.
  Reboot the laptop and install CCLeaner (freeware)
  Reboot once more.
  Now run CCLeaner and clean the registry.
  Reboot once more.
  Download and install the VAP
  Reset
  Test the FN keys

I remembered that have an old laptop that, if the battery is completely dead, I can use to download files from recovery Win10 on a USB key. * I am downloading now, on this laptop and it's not free, it is $ 19.75. Question, tho - with no PC work, how would I install the driver for the USB Orico card? They're looking at one or two weeks for delivery. I really need this to get up by the weekend.   I upgraded to El Capitan (Yosemite ignored) and I'm set.

  Safari 9 is installed and I noticed something right away.  It is not a huge thing, but I found it useful.  I wonder if this is a setting that I missed or if model just don't include (function) in Safari more.

  Whenever I was on a web page and I wanted to search for text, I started typing the text I was looking for and the search bar would open up all on its own.  It opened as if I pressed Command-F.  However, I don't have to press Control + F, it would open search bar automatically.  (if your cursor is in the address box it does not open the search bar, it would show the text in the address bar.)  I always made sure that my mouse was first clicked on the web page.)

  Since this new update, this small does not work.  If I start to type text, nothing happens.  If I press Command + F, of course, the search bar opens and I can do a search just like before.

  Is this a lost feature?  Or am I missing a setting somewhere?

  It's a minor thing, but I just thought I'd ask.  Maybe someone else has noticed the change and know how to get it back.

  Tables is difficult because you need to insert an extra line at the top. And if you don't have enough pictures to fill the line, it seems uneven.

  CSS allows you to insert 1, 2 or 3 new images and right beside or underneath gracefully glides.

• loss of functionality since the last update

  Since the last update of Mozilla a few days ago (Mac) I noticed at least 2 items that I used to use regularly lost features:

  1. used to be able to rearrange bookmarks by drag-and - drop (bookmarks-> show all bookmarks). Is no longer able to rearrange except manually and paste laboriously

  2. used to be able to click on download arrow in the toolbar to see the progress of downloads. Click no longer works. Now, cannot see download progress by (Tools-> downloads) pop-up menu.

  And no, the mouse works fine, can click on other things and drag and drop photos etc very well. Please notify. Thank you!

• Equium A200 - loss of functionality of scrolling touchpad

  Hello

  Can someone tell me how to restore my synaptics touchpad scrolling feature? I have a 3 month old A200 - 15L (PSAE2E) of Vista 32 bit operating.

  The touchpad works in a basic mode but has recently stopped scrolling and the taskbar icon is no longer highlighted what is pressed. I guess this is related to a downloaded update and try to fix it I tried to reload a driver of Toshiba downloads site - unfortunately, it makes no difference.

  Restore factory settings may well be the answer, but I never did this before and wondered if it was the right thing to do. Can someone help...?

  It's very strange that an update of Microsoft Vista affects Touchpad features.
  But who knows what updates the MS do?  :| to my knowledge, I have to say that it is possible that an update of MS can have a negative influence on the 3rd party software...
  I hope that the guys at Microsoft will solve that in the next Vista service Pack 1.

  However, lets talk about the Toshiba Recovery CD and the installation of the new.
  The installation is not difficult. It is very easy and the procedure takes about 10 minutes.
  You must simply boot from the restore CD and follow the instructions on the screen...
  The recovery CD will install the complete operating system, Toshiba drivers, utilities and software tools extra. So, you set the laptop simply to factory settings. But it also means, that the HARD drive will be formatted. Then save you data if necessary.
