Loss of internet Vista

I have a question as a lot, a lot of people had already posted on a computer Vista loses the internet connection.   My situation is slightly different from these other issues.   I work for a school district that I've seen this problem occur several times to the wire on a Vista computer.   Of course, we operate where the Vista computers are connected to a domain.   This problem occurs frequently when a Vista computer is automatically 'drop' internet access.   When this problem occurs, down in the lower right corner of the clock, the user will lose the globe icon bit which is before the two icons of the screen.   At this stage, you get 'local only' of access that the user still has access to the domain.   Now, you will receive a RED X between the world of internet domain and the icon.   If you click on the RED X to solve the problem, it never restores the connection.

What is initially a Vista computer automatically loses the internet connection, but all in maintaining access to the field?

What is the long term solution to prevent the problem of return?

    Hello

I have a very serious problem, started only last Monday, I was using my laptop to last more than three years and having a problem just last week about the loss of internet connection after an hour or two after restarting the laptop.

I thought that a virus could have an effect on this, so last night I reinstalled the operating system, but it does not work too. I connect to the internet via an ethernet to a motorola modem cable, do not know how to solve this problem now.

I searched through various sites and followed quite a few options but that did not help. Still have a problem, someone please answer as soon as POSSIBLE. I have a very important session the game and on Fri and it will be very costly if I can't then I would like to be back to normal as soon as POSSIBLE.

Go to the website of the manufacturer of your Modem > make sure you have the latest Firmware in Vista for it.

Go to the website of the manufacturer of your computer/notebook > drivers and downloads Section > key in your model number > look for it last network adapters Vista drivers > download/install the.

The computer you are using now if you have an Internet connection with the other > download / save drivers > copy them into Flash Drive > transfer / install on another computer/laptop.

  • Windows Update 12/15/2010 causes a loss of internet connectivity

After you perform the update 12-15 and rebooted the computer creates a loss of internet connectivity on our HP Pavilion (Windows 7). I confirmed this because I deleted updates and connectivity returns.

While this loss of connection the network and sharing Center shows that it is connected to the network and to the internet.

There were 10 updates total, for most updates of security, IE 8 1 update and an update of the malicious attack tool.

I disabled updates automatic for the moment, however really puzzled by this and don't find any problems in the database about it.

    Ideas? Thank you!!

    Hi BillHarsh,

You can manually download and install the updates one by one from the Microsoft Download Center & check if the problem persists.

  • Updates 2478658 KB and KB2518864 could not install and cause a loss of internet connectivity

    Hello

Updates KB2478658 and KB2518864 cannot be installed in my SBS 2003 and caused a loss of internet connectivity.

A while ago, I had a similar problem, i.e. do not install and loss of internet connectivity after you apply Windows Server 2003 SP2 on SBS. In this case, we have solved the problem with the support of a Customer Support person Microsoft, a service through which we paid.

According to the suggestions that I found in the Microsoft Web sites, I managed to remove everything that was installed by the KB2478658 and KB2518864 updates and the reinstalled successfully. I did these manually because I don't have an internet connection.

After you have reinstalled the above mentioned security updates, I repeated all the steps that led to the problem of the previous time. Among the steps taken, have been indicated in:

Common problems of networking after you apply Windows Server 2003 SP2 on SBS

Unfortunately, I was unable to restore connectivity to the internet this time.

There is connection between the NETWORK card and router. I could ping the NIC IP address, but not that of the router (I get an "unreachable" message).

I look forward to suggestions and recommendations to solve this problem. I have already paid once resolved a problem that was not directly caused by me and do not wish to do it again.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi JL,.

Your question of Windows is more complex than what is generally answered in the Microsoft Answers forums as it is related to a problem with small business server. It should be better in the Windows Server Forums of business.

Please post your question in the Windows Small Business Server Forums.

  • Anyone else experiencing the random loss of internet connection while using character animator?

I seem to have a random loss of internet connection when performing character animator.

Look into this further. It seems not related to the animation of character since today, it seems to happen randomly when running a simple browser. I think that maybe it's just my old router is about to die. I deleted my DNS cache and renewed my IP address and reset my router, so I hope that's all it took. Otherwise, it may be time for a new router.

  • Upgrade of Vista SP2-loss of internet connection

I upgraded a VISTA 64 laptop computer to SP2 yesterday evening.  He seems to have retained my 802.11n network configuration, but since the upgrade will connect only locally, not to the internet via the wireless connection.  (It is not a problem with my network or modem, as another VISTA laptop wireless and other devices will continue to work properly.)  The ethernet connection works fine. I tried:

    • disable the firewall (Norton)
    • Diagnose and repair
    • confirmed connection to the router
    • newspapers of router checked-only MAC address is not blocked
    • updated the Intel 4965AGN driver to the latest version

Any suggestions?  I am reluctant to completely recede SP2 unless absolutely necessary.

    lopburi3,

This looks exactly like my question.  While I do not understand what has happened, I found a solution. Try this:

    • Log into your router and check what IP address is assigned to the computer that is not connecting.  If there is no assignment yet, give it a static address.
    • Go into your wireless connection TCP/IP properties and enter the manual configuration information: IP address assigned, the subnet mask and the router (default gateway) address.

For me, allowed me to connect through Internet.

    Edit:
as a first step, I had to re - enter the manual configuration after each reboot, and my router would not correctly identify the MAC address of my laptop (he appeared as 00:00:00:00:00:00).  After a couple more re - start last night, the computer retains the settings, so I could connect without having to re-enter the configuration, if the router is not yet MAC address list.

I've then updated the firmware on my router last night.  (D-Link DIR-655)  Now, after another reboot, everything seems to work properly, with the portable duly identified in the router. There was clearly a problem with the network adapter and the router communicates correctly. brodyboy

  • loss of internet explorer. Now by default Desktop Icons in Windows Media

I HIT SOMETHING BY MISTAKE AND LOSS OF THE USE OF INTERNET EXPLORER AND WINDOWS MEDIA HAS TAKEN OVER MOST OF MY ICONS ON MY DESKTOP
EVERYTHING THAT I TOUCHED WINDOWS MEDIA APPEARS, EVEN BASED ON MICROSOFT. WHAT SHOULD I DO TO GET IT BACK?

    Hi Cynthia,.

Do you know when this started? If so, try a system restore to before it started to see if that helps. If you use Windows 7, seehttp://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/700-system-restore.html. If you are using Vista, seehttp://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/using-windows-vista-system-restore/. If you are using XP, seehttp://support.microsoft.com/kb/306084. Sometimes this simple process made the rounds and sometimes that doesn't help - but it is easy and worth if she has recently begun.

If you are unable to access the internet (or even the system restore), tries to boot mode safe mode with networking and see if that helps.  If not, see if you can use a disk recovery or the Setup disk to access the options of recovery in this way.  If you need help, I need to know your operating system, manufacturer, brand and model of your computer, and what drives you are available now.

If you can access the internet somehow, if you are using Vista, go tohttp://www.mydigitallife.info/2008/06/22/reset-and-fix-broken-windows-vista-file-ext-and-type-associations-include-exe-com-sys-zip-lnk-folder-drive/ and scroll to the EXE and click or double-click it to run the program to restore EXE file associations. Once done, do the same for LNK entry. That should restore your programs. If you use Windows 7, go to http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/19449-default-file-type-associations-restore.html. If you are using XP, go to http://www.dougknox.com/xp/file_assoc.htm.  NOTE: I think this is the real answer to the problem and the question in this case, I've rarely seen in combination, is how to perform the procedures with your system in its current state.

We will check the alteration that may have been caused by this problem:

Go to start / all programs / accessories / command prompt and right click on command prompt, and then click Run as administrator.

Type sfc/scannow, go and let it run. It will scan and try to correct some of your system files. If all goes well he comes complete with no corruption, it could not repair (if it has these post of corruption here or try to analyze it to find the problem or files using http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928228).

While in the command prompt, type chkdsk /f /r and enter and let it run. They tried to set itself to run at the next reboot. Answer Yes and restart to run the program. It will scan and attempt to resolve any corruption or bad sectors on your hard drive and remove especially as a potential cause.

If that can't find something problematic (and maybe especially if this is the case), then we will make a thorough for malware check to exclude:

First, try the following programs if you do not, because they can help. I recommend you download, install, update and run full scans with Malwarebytes:http://www.malwarebytes.org/ and SuperAntiSpyware:http://superantispyware.com/ and then run a full scan of Microsoft Security:http://www.microsoft.com/security/default.aspx. This may or may not remove the infections, but will probably not correct the damage caused by them. Even if they or your current AV software seem to work or indicate that you are not infected, you should not completely trust in them and must continue with the recommendations that follow (so it's up to you if you want to try them first, or just ignore all this and get help from an expert you really need as described below).

Correctly and completely remove these infections can be complex and often require manual removal procedures (which may or may not be entirely effective either). Even if they work, I suggest what follows in any case, so that we can start it (you can ignore the methods above if you want it really is the way forward, but it won't hurt to them for trying).

Please follow these recommendations of JimR1 - MVP compliments:

I use a wireless adapter wg111t. Intermittently, my connection completely disappears and I have to turn off and restart. The loss of connection is accompanied by the mouse cursor (mouse Microsoft Wireless) gel, generally with the pointer to highlight text, then after about 30 seconds, that it thaws, but not internet connection and the adapter could also well be installed because it does not appear in Control Panel. I checked if there are IRS conflicted and can't find anything, I will also be changed to a different mouse and still have the same problem.

    Hello

    ·         The question is limited to Internet Explorer?

Try the methods provided below and see if they help to resolve the issue.

    Method 1:

    Step 1:

I suggest boot mode safe mode with network and check if the problem persists.

Networking in safe mode starts Windows in safe mode and includes the network drivers and services needed to access the Internet or other computers on your network.

The Advanced Boot Options screen lets you start Windows in advanced troubleshooting mode. You can access the menu by turning on your computer and pressing the F8 key before Windows starts.

See the link below for more details:

    Startup options (including safe mode)

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/advanced-startup-options-including-safe-mode

    Step 2:

If the problem persists in Mode safe mode with networking, you can perform the clean boot on the system and solve the problem.

Put your boot system helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem. If so, you need to maybe contact the manufacturer of the program for updates or uninstall and reinstall the program.

See the following article in the Microsoft KB for more information on how to solve a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or Windows 7:

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

    Note:

After troubleshooting, be sure to set the computer to start as usual as mentioned in step 7 in the above article.

    Method 2: Reset TCP/IP stack

To reset the stack TCP/IP go to this article and either click on "Fix it for me" or follow the instructions to fix it yourself:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/299357

    Method 3:

I suggest to download WG111T Software Version 2.1 from the link provided below and check if that helps resolve the issue.

Not quite the same thing as I'm not trying to access remotely, but since the upgrade to Sierra, my iMac mid-2010 do not reconnect to the wifi in the morning.  It is not slow, it will not reconnect all until I explicitly select the network.  I don't have this problem before the Sierra, and it doesn't seem to affect my Air mid-2012 (also on the Sierra).

I have a problem with my internet. After a period of time my internet goes down, I is not serious weather wireless or with cable.
I have al the latest drivers (bios, card).
I checked al the parameter including energy saving.

I noticed that my travels of ip to another ip address, when I try to fix do not work and when I try to renew with cmd I don't have access.
The only way to solve my internet is to restart my laptop, and then everything works well again.
I don't know what to do, I found that this is a typical problem of Vista but I can't find a solution.

I'm surprised that no one can give me an answer. I think it's a common problem with vista, so somebody must have had a similar problem.

  • Connect a HP OfficeJet Pro 8500 to router Netgear N600 loss of internet connection.

Whenever the OfficeJet printer is connected to one of the ethernet to a Netgear N600 router ports, the internet connection is lost. Internet works without any complications, if the printer is not connected to the network. As soon as the ethernet cable from the printer is connected to the router (or a network switch) the internet connection is lost. If I look at the devices using the Netgear browser interface, everything seems appropriate. The printer uses DHCP and you will receive various IP addresses according to what remains is connected (e.g. 192.168.1.3). I've narrowed the problem to the printer, causing the loss of connectivity internet thie. Attach only my computer to the router (may be an iMac or a Windows XP system), internet works fine, plug the printer results in a loss of interest. Printer works fine and the documents can be printed after you connect to one of the ethernet ports.

I tried to set a static IP address on the printer (e.g. 192.168.1.100) so that the attribution of a static address with the interface of Netgear using the MAC address of the printer - no approach fixes the problem. Netgear support is perplexed (they have even sent a replacement router, thinking it was defectiive, the two routers show the same problem). I have reset the printer to its default settings in order to eliminate potential conflicts with modified parameters. I also tried to change the speed of the link to something else than "Automatic", nothing seems to work.

We will define an external static IP and DNS address for the printer.  I think that the external DNS will do the trick.

-Print a the front of the printer Network Setup Page. Note the IP address of the printer.
-Enter the IP address in a browser to reveal the internal settings of the printer.
-Choose the network tab, then wireless along the left side, then on the IPv4 tab.
-On this screen, you want to set a manual IP address. You must assign an IP address outside the range that the router sets automatically (called the DHCP range). If you do not know the range, change the last set of numbers (those after the last '.') 250
-Apply the subnet 255.255.255.0 (unless you know it's different, if so, use it)
-Enter the IP of your router (on the Page of the Network Config) for the gateway.
-Enter for the first DNS 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 for second DNS. It's Google DNS. You can choose a different external DNS if you wish.
    -Click 'apply '.

Now, stop the router and printer, start the router, wait, and then start printing.

    Hi bobert1953,

This problem can occur when the power management profile turns off your network adapter.

Method 1: To disable power management feature ent of network cards

    a. click on start

    b. right click on computer

    c. click on manage the

    d. click on Device Manager in the left pane of the window

    e. expand your network card.

    f. now you will see your network adapter or adapters if you have more than one. Right-click on the network component, and then click Properties.

    g. go to the power management tab.

    h. ensure that all check boxes are unchecked (check boxallow the computer to turn off this device to save power is off).

    i. When you have disabled the boxes, click ok and restart your system. Put the computer in mode 'sleep' and check if you still have any questions.

loss of title: original package on vista but not xp

Hello. A month ago, I noticed that whenever the incoming data to transfer (download), I would get the persistent packet loss/tcp retransmissions. Packet loss is causing the loss of bandwidth, 600 kB/s instead of 2 MB/s. However, the download is perfectly fine. I contacted my ISP and they checked everything was ok on their side. I also tried to plug directly into the uplink of my ISP instead of use a switch/router, it did not help.

On my home LAN, my machines do it two vista. A computer vista laptop that I never touched the fact. A remote windows 7 tunneling through my router via OpenVPN machine does. However, a XP desktop PC and a laptop borrowed XP work fine.

Right now my best tips are a faulty windows update or a problem of management package by one of the routers in the ISP. I will continue to try to refine the question. In the meantime, any ideas what it could be?

Since then, I went from ISPS, now with the help of a major ISP on cable and get reliable 6 MB/s in the top-down process. If the problem is gone, and we'll probably never know...
