  • Missing Message of blackBerry Smartphones icon

When I get a text message, it appears combined with my email list, with no separate indication that this is a message.

Since I get a lot of emails (which much unnecessary to respond to), the message gets lost in the e-mail list.  As far as I know, the message only adds to the email envelope icon, which is pretty useless to distinguish a text message.

Is it possible to have a separate mention when appears a text message?  And/or a record separated for text messages?

Hello and welcome to the community!

By default, all messages (e-mail, SMS, BBM, etc.) are put in the Messages main/app icon. Some people prefer this approach "unified messages", others prefer to keep things separate. Fortunately, the BB offers the possibility to split things according to your wishes.

On older OS levels (for example, breast and below the level of OS5), there has been very little control over this split... basically, only being able to split the TEXT Messages from Messages to an icon that is theirs (controlled by the Options settings in the Messages app). But, with the later levels of the operating system, several orders were provided:

For BES users, your BES Admin can push an E-mail BES icon only to your device. This solution is free, but must be conducted at the level of the BES server and will affect all users on the BES server.

If your device operating system level (starting in OS5 and above) has the possibility, you can dictate what shows in Messages:

    • Home screen > Messages > > Options > (the main Message list settings) or (parameters of the Inbox) or (management of the Inbox)
    • Uncheck the box that you want to delete Messages, which allows a separate for those icon that uncheck you

  • BlackBerry Smartphones icons on the homescreen 9900 Bold

How do I move icons on the main screen on Bold 9900 device so when I turn on the camera icons appear. Currently, I have to press the arrow in the Middle at the bottom of the screen and drag upward to get the icons appear.

First of all, you can control how many lines appear on your home screen when you turn it on.  The number of default rows is one, but if you put your finger on the arrow and drag it to the top (like you did), however several lines that you drag to the top of will remain whenever you turn on your phone.

If you want to lower the maximum number of lines, say maybe two only are needed, get the screen filled with the arrow at the top.  Then, highlight an icon with your cursor, press the menu key and select move then move the icon near top, even above the row.  Once you have the icons you need laid out near the top, you can drag the arrow down to hide all rows that fall below your selected icons.

    I hope that helps you.

  • Problem with the key S/4 blackBerry Smartphones.

Well, Hello community; This is my first post here.

I have a problem with my Blackberry Curve 8520 device:

3 days ago I typed the password incorrectly 10 times, then he appeard things like (wiping or something) and some numbers. Later, I turned on my camera; And seen all Contacts and all reset, I restarted from the beginning (adding new contacts Downloding, programs, etc.) This has worked for me for 2 days, but now... My camera is trolling as hell, (S/4) key does not work, I can not activate it with the mute button; I need to activate it with the 'Red' button, too, if I turn off the power, I can't activate it with the 'Red' button, I just pull the battery...

(Hope you understand my problem and sorry for my English, I know; She sucks...

    Greetings, Diego)

Hello and welcome to the community!

You can consider a charge of BONE, that something can be a problem with your OS BB given what you describe. But first, please try safe MODE:

    • KB17877 How to start a smartphone BlackBerry in Mode safe

It will take several attempts to get the combination of keys ESC (press/release/hold) OK, so be patient. When properly in Safe Mode, run for awhile determine if behaviour will or will not return. If it is then in safe mode, then you should proceed with reloading the OS. But if the behavior does not work in safe MODE, then well... think about what happened just before this behavior started? A new application? An update? A theme? Something else? Think carefully that the slightest change can be causal... and try to undo all that was.

To perform a reload of the OS, here are some process, you can use:

At the top of each forum device, there should be some 'sticky' threads dealing with the level of the OS available for many models. If they understand your model, please use those as a reference as you go along. Otherwise, you will have to dig through the download portal official for packages of OS for your model:

From a PC, you can install any compatible OS package (for example, for your BB model exact number) of a BB via this procedure:

Note Although written to "recharge" and the storm, it can be used to upgrade, downgrade or recharge any BB device model - depends on the operating system package you download and install on your PC. If this OS package comes from one carrier other carrier for which your BB was built, then remove, on your PC, all copies of the SELLER. XML... There will be at least one and maybe 2, and they will be located in the same way or to (it changes based on your version of Windows) these files:

    • C:\Program Files (x 86) \Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
    • C:\Users\(your Windows username) \AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML

Don't forget that you remove, since your PC, any other BB OS devices as packages with more than one installed on the PC can cause conflicts with this procedure.

You can also study the use of BBSAK (bbsak.org) to perform the wipe what he is capable.

You can also try this procedure might limit the specific causal element:

    1. Load your OS "bare bones"... If everything is optional, do not install it.
    2. If the behavior is immediately, then try another OS with step 1
    3. If the behavior does not immediately, then run for as long as necessary to make you to be sure that the behavior will not occur.
    4. Add one more thing - no matter how tempting, one.
    5. If the behavior does not immediately present, and then runs for long enough to be sure he won't have the same problem
    6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 until all things are responsible or the behavior presents

When the behavior shows up, you know the culprit... the last thing you have loaded.

If the behavior doesn't re-present, then you know that step 1 or 2 cured it.

If the behavior has anything, then you have probably a problem of material level for which no amount of OS or software can heal.

If you are on a MAC, you are limited to only your sanctioned carriers OS packages... but can still use any level they currently have to sanction. See this procedure:

  • Fall of key letter of blackBerry Smartphones

I love my Blackberry and was surprised when I pulled out of the Holster to check messages and realized that the d/5 key was missing. It seems odd, since it's in the middle of the keyboard. I can still use it with a pen to type, but it's not really practical. Is - fixable?

Problem solved. Went to the Sprint store and they replaced the entire keyboard face. Took an hour and works like new!

  • Message "Mail" blackBerry Smartphones icon opens "SMS".

When I press or click on the "e-mail" (envelope) icon it opens my text messages.

I can re - program to open my real email?

    Hi dlhend

Welcome to the Forums of the BlackBerry Support

First perform a battery pull reboot by removing the battery while your device is turned on, wait for a min. then reinsert back. After the reboot, please check again.

If the problem persists then on your home screen, open main Message icon, press the Menu key > Options > Inbox management > on this screen make sure that under any other Type of Message header > text Message is disabled or Unticked.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones icon won't go away

A small white icon that looks like a cassette is display on my home screen. It has no figures with it. I think this is a voicemail icon, but my mailbox is empty: I checked it several times.

Can someone identify the icon and then tell me how to get rid of it. I already have my battery several times different (but not for 30 minutes as a post suggested a missed call icon that won't go away).

Here you are at choice,... follow these steps in order until it is resolved.

    1. Call your voicemail and clear the message.
    2. You can call your BB from another and leave a message. You BB, call your voicemail and clear and delete your messages.
    3. Hard Reset BlackBerry by holding ALT CAP (right Shift key) and DEL (or removing and reinserting the battery)
    4. Change your theme and see if it persists and return to your desired theme. (Options > theme > select.)
    5. Clean and reload your OS.
  • BlackBerry Smartphones icons disappeared and the menu won't pull up.

OK, so I have a 8310.  I left my phone in the car for a few days (maybe something could have been by pressing one of the buttons while he sat there?) and when I picked it up, all my icons had been activated around and nothing was located where it was when I used the latter.  Everything worked fine, just all of the application and the homescreen icons were all scrambled to the top.

This is the case, a * beep *, I decided to try to move the icons and put them back where they belonged.  I was able to highlite an icon and move it, but when I tried to finish the move sit icon where I wanted, the icon would be to just move with the trackball and has refused to sit in one place and stay there.

Then I get a call on my phone and everthing is now the country of Wonderland with Alice and the White Rabbit!  All my icons have left the home screen, and I can't pull up the menu screen.  The trackball seems to work very well.  The blackberry icon button (between the button ' to call ' green and the trackball) seems to work (when the screen is black, you can push it and the screen lights up) but when you press it, the menu won't pull up.

I thought that maybe I hid all the icons somehow?  I'm just confused on this one.  All the information at the top of the screen is still there.  Time, date, signal strength, network and all my message alert icons are visible.  I use the image as background is under the eyes, just all the icons disappeared and I can still shoot to the top of the menu to fix.

    1. press the Menu key and click SHOW EVERYTHING, as well as show that everything is checked.

Now look around and see if you the icons. If this menu button still does not work...

2 perform a reboot of the device: with the BlackBerry device powered on, remove the battery a few seconds and then reinsert the battery to restart.

    A little luck?

    3. If still nothing, try to go to the Options icon if you can find and choose themes and change the themes... now all the icons?

If you can't find the Options icon, press the green line to enter the call log.

Press the Menu key > Options > General and make Options scroll down with a line to the home screen and the value to no.

Now, go back to the home screen of the BlackBerry and press O (oh), alpha to zero. Who will pull up in your Options menu now

  • Message text blackBerry Smartphones icon does not disappear and the message is empty

I (now 2) incoming text messages icons on my screen that won't go away.  The messages are of the same person.  When I opened the message there is no text, but when I close it, the icon remains as if I did not open the message.  I deleted this person as a text contact conversation and others with her, from my phone and put his back as a contact.  I turned the phone market.

I tried to delete the message by clicking on the screen of the app and tapping text messages and delete the empty message from there.  I went in the messages folder after the message and is not here, but still on the screen "unread".

    Help, what I did?

Tips to clear the message unread... try them in the order.

If you have a new icon rogue Message on your home screen, or a negative number (-1), one of these solutions could erase or reset:

    Try these options:
The main Messages folder and select today's date, click on the menu button and then select Mark prior opened.
    * Hard Reset BlackBerry now ALT CAP (right Shift key) and DEL (or with the BlackBerry power, remove the battery and reinsert the battery)
    Messages > saved Messages
Messages > view folders, check each folder (calls, SMS and MMS, and boxes, saved missed boxes, browser, phone logs etc.)
    * Scroll at the top of the folder, on the title menu, click or tap to MARK PRIOR OPEN date
Change your theme and see if it persists and return to your desired theme. (Options > theme > select.)
    * Connect to Desktop Manager > backup/restore > advanced. On the right pane is the list of the data on your device. Scroll to the e-mail highlighted messages database, and then below, select TRANSPARENT. This will clear your system of all messages.
    * Clean and reload your OS.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones icon flashing clock-thought (?) and lack of email

A flashing icon clocklike/thinking has developed and I can't stop it. It is centered in the middle of my screen and flashes across all applications. It is also draining my battery and since it appeared, no new emails have been downloaded, but I still can't browse the web, read old emails off my "BOLD", etc. The error icon is black, with a white clock as weapons ranging from 1-11 on "the clock".

Just an update on my problem. After that has occurred continuously for a week, it seems to have fixed itself. It resets an hour before it was fixed, but during this time after reset it still showed the clock/thought icon blinking, so I don't know if the second zero is what fixed it or just the blackberry fairy who did, but at least it's working now.
