Lower E1000 on Wifi Ethernet

Hi, my linksys e1000 router compares pretty well to my modem when the Ethernet cable is plugged.  I get fast DL speeds above 50Mbps be when the Ethernet cable is plugged into my computer.  However, when I connect wireless, regardless of the range I can't DL any faster than 20Mbps.  I have advanced and restored my settings by default so that I could use Cicsco Connect and update the firmware, but beyond that I don't know what parameters to change.  Any help would be gladly appreciated.

What is your connection speed, such as reported by the operating system?  Try to disable WMM or hierarchy of the media.

  • Why is my slower than wifi ethernet download speed when using the airport extreme?

    Hi all

This is my first post here, so please bear with me. I currently own stunted 2011 Macbook Pro 13 inch and an extreme A1521 from the airport. My ISP has promised 50Mbps downloading and sending 10 Mbps. When I connect my MPro via ethernet/wi-fi to my modem I get as promised. When I connect my MPro via wi - fi to the extreme I get 48Mbps download download 9Mbps and it's ok. However, when I connect my MPro via ethernet to extreme I get 8-9Mbps download and 9Mbps. Anyone know how to fix this?

If you check the 'fine print', your ISP has promised "up to" 50 Mbit/s and 'up to' 10Mbps.  The ISP might provide more than that during periods of slow activity, like the days of the week during the day, but much less during evenings when there are many more users on the Internet.

When I connect my MPro via ethernet/wi-fi to my modem I get as promised

I assume that you meant to check the Ethernet connection, you disable WiFi on Mac when you do this. And unplug the Ethernet cable when you check the speed of the WiFi, correct?

If so, this tells you that the Ethernet port to both the modem and the Mac work properly, and WiFi work correctly as well.

When I connect my MPro via wi - fi to the extreme I get 48Mbps download download 9Mbps and it's ok.

If this tells you that the Ethernet connection between the modem and the AirPort Extreme works correctly, and wireless works fine on the AirPort Extreme.

However, when I connect my MPro via ethernet to extreme I get 8-9Mbps download and 9Mbps.

Well, you know that the Ethernet connection between the modem and AirPort Extreme works because you can register 48 Mbps Wireless.

Thus, the possibilities are narrowed to two elements at this stage:

    (1) the Ethernet cable is defective or making intermittent contact. Try another Ethernet cable, to ensure.

    (2) If you have turned off AirPort Extreme and rebooted several times, and you know that the cable between the Mac and AirPort Extreme works properly, then you have reduced the question down to the Ethernet on the AirPort Extreme, which is probably defective switch.

If you have not already done so, try other ports Ethernet on the AirPort Extreme.

As a last resort, perform a reset material on AirPort Extreme and put up again. To perform the Hard Reset... power on AirPort Extreme for a few minutes, then hold it pushed in the reset button on the back of the unit (near the AC power plug) for 7-8 seconds and release. Allow a minute for the AirPort Extreme restart orange light flashing slow.

I once went through two consecutive airport extremes with the same question about 8 months ago, so it can happen.

If you're still having problems, then it is time to take the AirPort Extreme of Apple Store... If you have one near you... or contact the Apple Support directly by clicking on 'Contact the Support' in the upper right area of this web page.

    Good luck!

  • Satellite L775-15 q - low or no WiFi signal

    Hello.

My brand-new Satellite L775-15 q seems to have a huge problem with the WiFi signal. I've studied him a lot and it seems that many new Toshiba models have this problem, which is rather disappointing.

The thing is the signal from the laptop is pretty awful, especially in my room.
To be honest, my room is the furthest way to the router.
But still, we have 3 other laptops in the House: a Toshiba 4 year, a Fujitsu 3 year and a brand new Dell; they all have a perfect, complete, 5-line signal in my room.
Even my horrible cell phone Ericcson has a fairly decent signal from 3 lines.

The new L775-15 q has 1 or 2 lines or most of the time no signal at all.
Even at a distance of 4 meters from the router, it doesn't even have a signal lines full 3 or 4!

The router firmware is up-to-date. I've updated the WLAN drivers and still nothing.
The power settings were already at the maximum.
If 3 more options in these forums do not work.

    Any ideas?
It's a laptop good and I would not return.

Do you use a laptop with battery power or signal strength is too low no matter if you use it on battery or power supply?

  • Satellite L670-1EC - low connection speed WiFi - only 65Mbit/s

    Hello

How can I rotate at high speed on my wifi draft n card? My TV connection to the router with speed 130Mbit/s.
What is happening with the wifi card in ouer L670? In the specification is 802.11b/g/n, but it doesn't work!
Where is the map? To achieve this card there is no coverage under the laptop.

    Kind regards
    Yankee

    Hello

The card supports the standard 802.11 b, G or N but 802.11 N is also 2.4 Ghz as explained here:

Not able to use the 5 GHz on the wireless network card in the standard WiFi "n".

    802. 11 G 54 Mbps reached 20 Mbit/s and 802. 11 b with 20 Mbps to 10 Mbps

802.11 N dual band (2.4 Ghz and 5 Ghz) with 300 Mbps reached about 70 to 100 Mbps, but since only 2.4 Ghz is free, the bandwidth is lower (about 60-70Mbi/s)

  • Signal low e1000 with Comcast cable speed

I have Comcast for my Internet provider and is the cable (speed was now lucky to get 6 Mbps 10 Mbps + a year earlier).

I have a Linksys E1000 wireless with Linksys RE1000V2 2 repeaters in my house.

    My signal is terrible!

I sometimes have up to-30 dbm, but for the most-50 dbm and above (even - 70 dbm, negative more is worse).

Using Wifi Analyzer on my Android phone.

5' - 0 "far one repeater I get-40 or worse on one of these repeaters.

    My signal pulses wildly.

Someone in this forum knows all that can actually help this situation?

    This relay is about 40' - 0 '' + - far the E1000. "

(it was closer but signal was still worse, the best in this place).

    Tin Foil do not work...

    Thanks Dan

    Update:

I moved my router Modem & Wireless from my office (room) 25' in the middle of my house.

I've done away with the 2 extensions, that I had, because my internet speed (OOKLA) says that I have an average of 18.0 to 22.0 download & upload of 5.5 to 7.0

(It was very difficult to re - put to rout the cable but worth it!).

I found an interesting fact about Extenders...

They REDUCE some signal strength, you might have by 1/2!

I tried both of my V2 RE1000 repeatedly get the same results every time!

(tests were in a clear & not blocked area less then 30' of the Wifi source)

    I wouldn't BUY AN EXTENDER.

However, they will give a signal when there is none...

  • Portege R200: After XP installtion WiFi ethernet controller is missing

After installing XP, the OS is missing a driver for "Ethernet controller"; LAN works, not WLAN.

Can someone tell me what driver I have to download and install?
    Thank you
    Oliver

    Hello

I think you should check page driver Toshiba for the right WLan driver.
    Please note that there are 2 different Portégé R200: PPR20 + PPR21
You should check the details of your laptop and download the right driver WLan.

After downloading the driver, you will need to extract the file. Then go to Device Manager, select the WLan card and install the driver.

You have both a NETWORK adapter and a wireless card and they are enabled and active?  Why do you need them both, or how you use both?

Sure you have the correct drivers for the Realtek 8168 G wifi card?  I looked for some time and found no drivers for this card anywhere.

Confirmed the settings to connect to the ISP?  The fact that you can connect suggests they are OK, but there may be a setting that works for most, but boasts a better framework that will solve the problem.

After all, you did, I suspect you have a hardware problem with the card to be used for the internet connection.  Make sure that it is installed on the motherboard, or however it is connected (and use a different slot if one is available).  If you have another computer that can handle the card, try the card in this computer to see if it works it - who will tell us if it is the card or computer.  It is difficult to say without testing and I don't want to jump the gun on a recommendation, but I suspect that it will need to be replaced.

Thanks in advance for the reply with answers and for trying the test of the swap (which tell us a lot if you do-even if you need to borrow from a friend "computer s for a while run the test).

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

    Hello

I searched the Intel site and found the solution.

The reason is Intel card that requires a specific configuration.

If anyone has the same problem, it is not necessary to do all the steps in the following article:

    http://www.Intel.com/support/wireless/WLAN/4965AGN/sb/CS-025643.htm

but the most important thing is to have the AES encryption enabled on your computer not TKIP. Good course with WAP.

That solved my problem (I had TKIP) and after the application of any changes to this article:

    http://www.Intel.com/support/wireless/sb/CS-030709.htm

I could not connect at all.

the only thing I needed was encryption AES set wireless management settings - properties > tab: security.

Luckilly I was able to connect with my router via a mobile phone, because I have no possibility to access router via cable.

Thick plese this as resolved topis. Thank you to all who have contributed and went to the Intel site.

    Best regards

  • MacBook Pro warmer with ethernet

I just tried with (instead of WiFi) ethernet cable to the internet on my MacBook Pro so that I can download large files without interruption. I noticed that whenever I do that, my MacBook is significantly warmer. Not as bad as if I had to play a video game on steam, but much hotter it is usual rest temperature. Why would the cause of ethernet a higher temperature, and is there anything I can do to make it work in a more normal temperature when you use ethernet?

I have the laptop on a hard, smooth surface, connected. No direct light from the Sun hitting the computer. MacBook Pro, mid-2012, 13 ". El Capitan running.

    Hello

Your MacBook is going to be heated for various reasons. Your disk reading and writing at a fast pace is perhaps one of them, including bringing data quickly on ethernet. This is perfectly normal and nothing to worry. I got myself a MacBook Pro 13 "2015 and it becomes often warm, but it's common with computers. Unless your computer is showing signs of slowing down or crashing, then the there's nothing to worry about.

  • EA7500 customer different wifi connection

This will affect the speed of the wifi if customers have different types of wifi speed such as a, g, n and ca? In other words, the speed of the router will set o the lower speed of wifi client or each customer has independent speed? In addition, if only 2 customers have characteristics of mimo of mu and other customers using wifi g or n, 2 customers will have independent wifi connectivity, who does not share with other clients of mu non mimo?

Yes, TK16. Using an adapter USB MIMO-MU, it's like having your own router 'private' while other wireless devices are connected at the same time.

  • Can workstation make me use the ethernet port on the remote computer?

    Ideal solution would be:

I have specialized software on my computer I want to use without installing it on the remote computer.

For now, I have to because the software uses the ethernet computer port to do a job, the software is used to.

    (1) is there a solution out there for everything just to connect to a remote computer and make use of its ethernet port remotely?

Someone told me that VMWare Workstation last night. Maybe it's completely off-base.

If this remote computer is connected to another computer via an Ethernet cable, but not for the internet, only data.

For me to be able to connect to it, the remote computer must maintain a simultaneous Wifi connection as well.

I use Teamviewer to fight against it.

    (2) if 1) above is not possible, I'm back to my current setup which is to the software me, I need on that remote computer. But my problem is that it does not seem possible to have WiFi and Ethernet connections at the same time.

Please correct me / explain how if I'm wrong.

How can be useful to me in these scenarios Workstation?

Thanks in advance for your help. I'm looking everywhere for more than a week.

I read that you wrote in your OP several times and no offense not expected however it is not well presented and I find I have to ask the many requests for clarification, however, I will say this...  A Virtual Machine is presented only a wired Ethernet adapter no matter how the host connects to the LAN/WAN and if you need to wired Ethernet and WiFi Ethernet in the Virtual Machine, and then in addition to the default wired Ethernet you can also provide your own card Ethernet Wi - Fi USB to connect to the virtual machine as well as the two available to the virtual machine at the same time.

Others while I won't waste time asking a bunch of questions and if you want to take an another stab as describing in explicit and specific in detail what you have and are trying to accomplish, then I add more to the discussion.

There is really no need to report as it does not and I know because I use both a USB WiFi Ethernet Adapter and or a Modem high speed USB connected directly to the Virtual Machines from time to time.
