M4500 to Lattitude6420

Hello. I'm a computer novice. I have a beautiful Precision M4500 and recently I bought a Latitude E6420 as an emergency for M4500 backup. I like pretty well m4500. Very quickly the right workstation. But it gets old (relatively) and recently I created full backup of the system and a system repair disc. Now, I would like to transfer full system, or at least installed the software in my Precision M4500 for my Latitude E6420. M4500 has I7 processor, 1 GB video card, 4 GB, windows7 32-bit memory, the latitude has processor I5, 500 MB card video, 4 GB memory, 32-bit windows7. Computers are made the subject of the same year, handed to nine 2012 or 2013 and purchased from Dell. Please, a guru of computing here could guide me on the process and the options.

Sincerely, John Petrovich

  • Can not keep the correct time on my laptop Dell M4500

    Hi all

I, ve problem with time on my Dell M4500 laptop a few months. I tried several solutions but not worked. time holds as long as the used laptop however wake up after sleep time shows right from the start of the commissioning (sometimes for seconds, sometimes for a few minutes) and sets then went back to a wrong value. I checked the weather it is time windows or time of bios, actually, it was the time of bios that changes after getting return of mode 'sleep' and windows after the bios later time, and if I want to correct then I have to restart, go to configuration, change time bios and then continue until the next time...

    I, ve tried the following:

battery 1-i bios modified by a new Dell... unsolved problem
2 - Dell has provided new motherboard with a new battery (verified) and the last update of the bios > problem unsolved
3 went to services.msc and turned on/start/stop windows.time service > problem still there
    4 enabled auto-sync > problem unsolved

y at - it an idea about this problem? in fact I ve called Microsoft but they replied that time BIOS cannot be changed or affected through Windows because windows does not have access to the bios time, however after change of motherboard (changed with a new one) is it a physical cause for this problem?
    any help? Thank you
    Saami

    Try the following steps
  • Upgrade memory M4500 gen first processor i5

I'm trying to find out exactly what the size of the memory configuration to use my M4500 laptop to get at least 8 GB. I ordered and installed a single 8GB DIMM recommended by and bought from Dell: got an error screen saying that windows does not load. MUST I use only 2-4GB DIMM? This link in this forum seems to be saying:

    Thank you

    Al Klagge

Max RAM per slot is 4G.  2 x 4 = 8 total max with a CPU dual core.

Only with a quad core CPU (i.e., i7Q) is 8G by supported housing.

    I hope you can help?

    MrWalker.

Discovered that the AC will work in the United States and the United Kingdom.

Sent one with the laptop AC adapter.

It takes just the cord with UK plug.

The only other thing that can be a problem is there a USA keyboard. "' No English no Pound Sign."

You can US ASCII code but it's a few key strokes.

    Or buy one and replace.

    Very easy to replace.

Let me know what you decide on that.

I'm going to PM the USPS tracking number.

The last laptop that I sent to the r - u took about 10 days.

    Hello

    ·         Will there be any changes made before this problem?

Step 1: Disconnect all external devices (printers, scanner, USB (universal serial bus) drives, etc...) Except the keyboard and mouse and then start.

If this solves the problem, then add back devices at a time until you discover the piece of hardware causing the issue. Then get any drivers\software update for the device.

Step 2: Check the hard disk for errors.

    Follow the steps in http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Check-your-hard-disk-for-errors

Note: When you run the disk check, there is a risk of data loss you can take a backup of your files before you run the disk check.

  • DELL 1510 N WLAN Mini card is compatible with the W8?

I installed W8 on my Dell Studio 1735. Access wireless Internet is very very slow. I don't have this problem with W7 on the same computer. I tried with an external network cable. Very fast, 50mbps. I also tried with an external wifi adapter USB Belkin. It works very well. Computer is a Dell Wireless 1500 N WLAN Mini Card Driver version: 5.100.245.20 Date: 2012-03-13. I can't find a better driver.

I have another problem I do have with W7.  I can't evaluate the computer. The Windows experience index cannot go beyond test Direct3D 10 Texture Load assessment.

    Can anyone help?

    Thank you.

I seemed to have found a solution to my issue.

I was able to find a Win 7 driver that solves my Windows 8 driver issue with very slow and intermittent/dropped

wifi connections for the Dell 1510 N WLAN (Broadcom 4322) wifi adapter.

The driver I found is: Network_Driver_WD35F_WN_5.100.235.12_A37

    I found it here: http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/04/driverdetails/product/precision-m4500?driverid=wd35f&fileid=2962647016

The the auto installer will not run without error. However, it will allow you to extract the files from the driver

package to a directory of your choice. Then you can point Windows 8 driver change/update utility

('Have Disk') to that directory - 'Drivers/Win7/WL' and select the bcmwl6.inf to install a driver

    (Broadcom v.5.100.235.12)

    I hope this helps others.

  • On Windows 7 Ultimate sound problem

    Hello

I use Creative 4.1 sound system on my PC for some time. But, recently, I reinstalled Win 7 32 bit on my PC again and now only work 4 speakers.

I tried to install the latest drivers from Realtek HD sound card, but still works as a single. Moreover, when I test the sound through the configuration, etc., all four speakers to emit sounds, but when I start to play a game, or turn on a song, only one works

To check that all the speakers have any hardware problem, I seconded the speaker wire that runs and tied the other three sons one after one, and they were clearly working since the a slot.

Before work on the left and three other right and rear left does not.

So, I made things quite a bit in do.like can define his Quad, even I tried to use 5.1 sound, however changing Control Panel, but each of them has proved to be futile attempts...

Some people say, you can buy a sound card, but my friend has the same set of things and its four speakers all work if he did not have a sound card.

In short, all stakeholders work of the aspect material, but the work when I test sound, not not when playing songs etc.

Kindly give me solution to this problem...

    Thank you.

  • Problem with VPN connection via a wireless card broadband Verizon Cisco VPN air

I can't access any device on my network via RDP or applications via the host file - forwarded servers from my 64 bit Windows 7 laptop using wireless broadband Verizon and customer VPN Cisco 64 bit 5.0.7.290. I can connect easily via a LAN wired connection from home using the same laptop computer and client VPN and RDP.

The VPN client connects to the server VPN (easy VPN on Cisco 2821 router) on the broadband wireless connection (I can see it in the GPMC on the router) but it will pass no data. I can't ping anything in the field, or external IP address. When I try to ping the laptop, it drops off the VPN (completed peer connection).

The laptop is a Dell M4500 running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit OS. The VPN client is stated, rev 5.0.7.290. The card internal wireless broadband is a QualCom 5620 (EV-DO-HSPA) system (Gobi 2).

What must I do to get this configuration to perform and log as does the wired connection?

    The Systems Manager

Post edited by: Timothy Carlisle recently I discovered that the Cisco 64 bit client VPN running on my Dell Precision M6500 (Windows 7 64-bit OS) was able to connect properly using the WiFi on my iPhone 4S (Verizon Wireless). It will also connect when attached to the laptop via a USB cable. Once I discovered this, I was then able to do the same thing on the laptop that spawned this discussion, by attachment for Blackberry "BOLD" from the boss after the download and installation of a new Verizon Wireless Access Manager utility that has allowed to select the device (Blackberry) for installation.  I think that enabled us to bypass the wireless cards Gobi2 on two laptops and the factory installed Dell Connection Manager software which was not compatible with the Cisco VPN 64 bit client software. As much as I fear here, this new method (hotspot of Smartphone and attachment) is the way to go for us and has solved all the problems of connectivity distance for us. Thank you to all who have contributed to this discussion.   Tim Carlisle

The Solution to the debate has been captured in this Document: -.

    https://supportforums.Cisco.com/docs/doc-18721

We fought with the same question for quite awhile before finding that there seems to be a default setting in the Verizon Access Manager software that plays well with the Cisco Client.

In VZAccess Manager, select Options | Preferences.  Connectivity options, the default setting for "NDIS Mode - connect manually" was chosen.  Change this option to "Modem Mode - connect manually" seems to have completely addressed the issue.  We can now connect to the WWAN, establish a Cisco VPN session and have connectivity.

    Thank you very much.

Very interesting journal. It seems that the pilot who seemed to be a rootkit is a false positive with a strange string. Or a rootkit is present, but we cannot detect. avastMBR crashing may be related to something else in all cases, however.

First of all, can you please uninstall Daemon Tools Lite + alcohol?

In addition, subsequently, c:\windows\system32\drivers\sptd.sys is listed and loaded into your list of modules; SCSI pass through Direct Host - Daemon Tools (BSOD known issues with Win 7 and 8). Please remove it as soon as POSSIBLE with the uninstall tool - http://www.duplexsecure.com/en/downloads

    Kind regards
