  • How to create a user local administrator with the user root on the CV

As says the tile, how to create a user local administrator with the user root on VCS-Express. I lost the password and cannot log in as an admin user, but I can't seem to log as long as user root.

Once connect you with the root account, type in "tsh", from there, you can create the accounts of local administrators with 'xCommand AdminAccountAdd.  See the reference section of command of the VCS Administrator's Guide, starting on pg 517.

If your VCS is a virtual machine, you can change the password of admin with vSphere, or if it is a hardware appliance, you can use the serial port, see pg 312 of the Administrator's guide.

  • Grant Local Admin rights to users in the domain

I need to grant privileges to local administrator for the users in the domain on our network. I did it through local users and groups. In groups, I go to the Administrators group and assign the Group of teachers to have local administrator rights. This works very well for the first day. Later, when a teacher says they cannot update the applications or install the software, I'm going in and finds that the privileges for the Group of teachers under managers disappeared. It continues to be. Can anyone shed some light on what's going on? I did it on the XP computers all the time and it worked fine. Thank you!

  • The AIRHELP application installation requires local administrator privilege

    Hi experts, please help!

I did a demo of the RoboHelp 9 with Desktop AIRHELP (we need comments) to our users and everything seemed perfect, except for one question: every change in the editor, it will need to create a new .air application and somebody's got to go and install this file to the computer of each user, and who will install need to have local administrator privilege.

What we want is using the relative function, will certainly require local administrator for each user. I wonder how you solve this problem? as our IT Department would not meet this requirement.

    Thank you

    Frances

We use for this problem, think if our employees 400 + need administrator rights while we are in big trouble... We install the airhelp in our images... So HE pushes a new image to the word (that they have right to admin), then they push updates and surprisingly up-to-date don't require end user administrator rights... I was surprised, but it works...

Now, we are under linux, so we have no questions of digital certifacte and we easily installation in silent mode.

I would like to give a domain user with local administrator rights using scripts via sccm, now that user does not disconnect, and if the admin rights come into force. I want to get the user who is logged on rights and it shall take effect as it is connected. This is possible thanks to a script or restart a service or group policy update?

Thank you very much for your time.

Thanks for posting in the Microsoft Community.

  • Script to add a domain user to the local Administrators group raises the error "the network path is not found."

I have a Windows Server 2008 R2 domain and a Windows XP Pro workstation that has been attached to the domain and then disconnected. I am trying to create a VBS script to add a domain user to the local Administrators group.

I log on my computer as a local administrator and run the following script:

    Dim oNetwork: Set oNetwork = WScript.CreateObject ("WScript.Network")
    StrPC Dim: strPC = oNetwork.ComputerName
    Dim OGroup: Set oGroup = GetObject ("WinNT: / /" & strPC & "/ directors")
Dim OUser: Set oUser = GetObject ("WinNT://domainname/username")
    oGroup.Add (oUser.ADsPath)

This script returns the error "the network path is not found."

However, I am able to go into control panel > user accounts > enter the user name and the domain name > click Next... > choose the administrators of the 'other' group and the user name will be added to the local Admin group.

The same script runs without error if it is launched after logon on the workstation with a domain administrator account.

How can I get my script runs without error, when you are logged into the workstation as a local administrator?

    Best regards, Andy

The code that I used came from here. If the syntax of the Add method is passed to oUser.ADsPAth to "WinNT: / /" & domainname & "/" & username, the script works correctly.

    Therefore, the modified script:

    Dim oNetwork: Set oNetwork = WScript.CreateObject ("WScript.Network")
    StrPC Dim: strPC = oNetwork.ComputerName
    Dim OGroup: Set oGroup = GetObject ("WinNT: / /" & strPC & "/ directors")
    Dim strUser: strUser = "WinNT://domainname/username."
    oGroup.Add strUser

Thanks to Qasim Zaidi to show the code of work here.

    Best regards, Andy

  • Is it possible to create a Local administrator user when you use the Profile Manager to get the configuration settings

    Hello

We are studying the use of the Profile Manager of OS X as a way to manage our Enterprise macs.

One of the demands made by the team, is to create an administrator user, as part of the OS X Profile which is lowered to the customer. The rationale is that this would be a way for the it team get, if the fubar user had their Mac

I did not see this anywhere in the configuration options of the Profile Manager and so ask the people who use it as part of their everyday Toolbox, to find out if such an option is available.

    Thank you and best regards,

    Madan failed

No, not with the Profile Manager.

How you deploying your company Mac?  As institutionally imagery or as BYOD devices?  If image, then the image should contain a coherent local administrator account.  If the active image also the Apple Remote Desktop or SSH, you have a method of mass, control and manage the devices.  If BYOD style, then you are out of luck that the end user is the only one with the key of the device.

You can take a look at following JAMF Casper.  Once devices are registered, you have the possibility to create accounts (However the common method is to create an account on registration).  If you deploy a BYOD approach, you should also look into DEP program Apple (https://deploy.apple.com) as more DEP JAMF (or other MDM) is a very powerful tool for light to zero touch deployment of systems.

My domain administrator is defined as a domain user and I want to change it to domain administrator. The groups gathered outside the account > users > Admin > groups section.

    Hello Tripline,

Please provide number and firmware version of your ReadyNAS model.

What's your ReadyNAS built-in AD? The ReadyNAS will simply copy the accounts of the ADS in your ad. Existing domain user, 'Administrator' should be adjusted to have administrator rights. I guess you should change everything first, and then integrate the NAS again to the AD.

    Kind regards

  • I have given rights of domain users to log on locally, but still cannot connect (Server 2008)

Hello. I ' using server2008r2 on virtualbox. I'm going through the 70-640 exam.

I went through the steps described in this article http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee957044 (WS.10) .aspx to add domain users rights to login locally. I ran gpupdate/force and me rebooted the machine, but I can not yet connect locally. I get "you cannot connect because the logon method, you use is not allowed on this computer.

    Any ideas?

I changed the default domain policy Instead of the default domain controllers policy. ::) Works now.

  • I can't access the administration user who has local administrator controls and everything that happens is my username at the start who has administrator rights but permissions administrator space

This is compared to Windows 7

In Windows 7, all administrator accounts are equal. There is none who are more equal than others (with apologies to George Orwell). What makes you think that you don't have local administrator access? Be specific!

  • Is there anyway that a domain user can install the application without administrator rights in Windows 7 Professional?

We are a small IT shop and we look for ways allow domain users install the application to their practice without having to babysit them or run from one PC to another.  I read an article on group policy, but he does not understand the implementation.

    is this possible at all?
    Thank you

You need to change the privileges of use in Active Directory on the server. Or create a local computer account and allow users to install applications to use it.

Using Active Directory would be the most simple, open AD > users

Right-click on the account and change the domain they can log on which is administrators.
