Material interruptions and DPC / after XP - SP3 install

Following installation of the SP3 (made in safe mode by following the indications of the MS Support) system is terribly slow.

I downloaded sysinternals Process Explorer that displays approximately 88% CPU by the "material Interruptions and DPC.

My reading indicates that it is probably a conflict pilot or in need of an update.  How can I identify what particular device is causing the problem.

The system is a desktop with PCChips A33G v1.0 mobo, processor Athlon 64 3500 + and 2 G of ram and NVidia GeForce 8400GS video card.

This problem started immediately after the sp3 update.  Since the problem started I've updated drivers, BIOS and SATA, sound and network drivers for PCChips site.

To answer your questions, yes I went back to SP2, and no, I'm not meeting all the problems I've had with SP3. [1]

I run a full scan, no viruses / malware problems that I can find.

What do you mean when you say "manually updated to SP3"?  The last attempt to SP3 is the third time around.  The first two were both using automatic updates.

Try 1. Let it auto update.  (There no warnings or actions to be taken in advance). Said it succeeded, but I had this problem of slow use.  (a year ago) is back to SP2 and everything worked well.

Attempt 2. A month ago.  Automatic updates has caused a problem with the MSXML installation, slowing down the system.  The suggestion was to install SP3 for fix.  SP3 was installed by automatic updates, but only after checking that AV was disabled and the other two services (don't remember now) were not installed.  That has not fixed the problem.  So I returned to SP2, resolved the problem of MSXML.

Attempt 3. By suggestions received following the attempt 2, I downloaded the SP3 update and installed in safe mode.  It's the attempt that triggered this thread.

[1] deliver him remaining under SP2 is that, every time you start, the Wizard "new hardware found" said attempts to install a PCI device, can not find a driver and I have no idea of what the device.  I have a NVidia video card, but its drivers are installed and up-to-date.  I hit Cancel, the wizard tells me that something does not work, but everything works fine.

  • PS2 Keyboard and mouse hooked after XP SP3 installed

Upgrade to SP3.  Keyboard works very well to get into the BIOS.  F8 works very well to get to choose the Safe Mode, and al. or not.  Once XP takes control, the keyboard and mouse are unresponsive.  Mouse move the pointer on the screen, the keyboard will not activate numlock or other keys LED.  Power - off only option.  Tried other keyboards and other mouse.  No go.

Any ideas?  Perfect condition ' puter til SP3!

I said nothing about "of special drivers', I suggested seeking & install the updated drivers. If none is available, there is a very good chance that your older equipment of keyboard and mouse is not supported in WinXP SP3.

Free installation and unlimited compatibility support for WinXP SP3 is available since April 14, 2008 to May 2009. This support will cost U.S.$ 59 or by higher incident now.

    Hello Toshiba Support Forums.

I installed Windows 7 Ultimate x32bit 2 weeks ago and I have problems around him.
The only driver I have intalled was ATI video card driver and touchpad driver to make it work.

The problem is sometimes the laptop shutsdown itself and after I turn it back on it says blue screen and some other information you need, but I closed it.

Also im gamer and sometimes when I play the game it shutsdown again. When I use Google Chrome or Firefox, the browser hangs and makes the pc of the room with her for at least 10 min. it is really bad and I also want to set.

Also, I want to ask about memory card reader because I insert a card in the reader, but it does not work I think I need a driver for it but is not in the drivers Toshiba Web page.

    Thank you very much!

Where did you find this ATi driver?
It could be possible that the installation of this driver ATi the BSOD.

My girlfriend has the same laptop Satellite A210 with an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2400 graphics card. The driver version is 8.632.1.2000 and the laptop is preinstalled with Win 7

It works perfectly without any BSOD.

By the way: the cardreder works too... you could take a Vista driver or the driver put the A300 series too

  • Lost PowerDVD and WinTV after fresh re - install (no recovery disc)

    Hello world

I bought my new HP Envy H8-1485ea desktop PC yesterday and try to get rid of the "bloatware" and unnecessary software, that I reformatted with my own license of Windows 8 Professional.

Now the problem is of course that I lost everything that I need to use the TV tuner and a Bluray player!

Anyone happen to know if I can download the separately packaged software? PowerDVD alone will cost me £35 and I can't imagine what would have cost WinTV!

For any help or suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

Hi, just thought I'd post an update after my visit to the PC world.

Fortunately, the store manager I recognized as the person who bought the PC £1000 the day before and allowed me to copy the installation of the C drive files, the display model!

I have now a functioning map TV/Tuner, Blu - Ray player and remote control!

Could not be more pleased with the help I got and understand how they were considering that it was my fault, that I was in the situation in the first place.

    Thanks for your suggestions, if

  • Firefox crashes even after a clean install of Windows

    Hey!

My Firefox keeps crashing. It starts up ok, but still crashes shortly after. I do not see a pattern in accidents, it seems random. Strange thing is that I had this problem before with Win7 and now he persists after installation clean full of Win10. The two hard drives formatted, no old files or anything left... It crashes in safe mode, too. On Win7, I could get locked out of the browser. Sometimes he would start crashing whenever I started the browser. A reboot has allowed me to once again successfully launch Firefox, but it would soon break without worrying. He crashed on the clean install of Firefox and crashed after that I installed Adobe Flash.

The crash began perhaps a few days previously, I think not that a lot of it initially. Now, however, it drives me nuts; It is basically impossible to navigate. Firefox browser my go-to for years and I would rather go to another.

    Here are a few crash reports: 4b05df7c-24d3-49e3-a13f-c9d57aca3cf0 bp-775561fc-4d6c-48a5-8c6b-e3af42161108 43d377a7-ea92-4c37-b717-84a562cd2d36 bp-09b21c04-8640-44ed-a261-a98f12161108 bp-9726e46d-d041-4fba-b905-f92682161108 fb6d8a28-79c6-4cab-b4c1-096778ca49e8

You will appreciate all help to the problem.

Seems that the problem is solved by itself. Not a single accident today. I don't have any idea of that which could have fixed, or what caused it in the first place. Curious, but no matter, I'm a happy camper now. I wish all support forums it was effective.

  • Calls excessive deferred Procedurwe (CPD) & material interruptions after installing Win 7 (64-bit)

After a clean install of Windows 7 Ultimate, I've had a pretty big problem. Whenever I try to transfer or backup files to a portable HD USB device only a few files are transferred and the CPU load then engulfs the system (85-92%) with hardware and procedure calls deferred (DPC) of the interruptions as shown by Process Explorer. Stop the backup/transfer or disconnect drives is not good - the use of the processor runs at a constant of 70-90%. Only a reboot gets rid of the problem. Here are the relevant facts and things I did to find the problem:

    (1) I used three external HD drives, a HP Personal Media 1 TB and a hard WD 500 GB and a 1 TB IOMEGA. I tried all 3 external HDs on alternating ports USB - same problem.

    (2) all discs worked perfectly before on my Vista-64 (PC) system and both drives work fine on both my other XP systems.

    (3) my system is a HP Pavilion PC m9517c with a processor 2.3 ghz Quad-core, 8 GB of memory and a 1 TB HD, so the processing power is not the problem.

    (4) I have tried the same transfer after a clean boot with all disabled menu items and services - same problem start.

    (5) in Device Manager for each disk under the policies tab, I also spent the default selection of "Rapid withdrawal", which disables the cache to "best performance" that allows to write cache (it could be a problem of write caching since it will transfer a few files before it grinds almost to the stop of thought)-same problem writing.

It seems e problem a Win 7. Can anyone give me any help would be appreciated. HP has been less useful for their support and knowledge.

Problem solved! Thanks CharlesHP (graduate student). I spent a week on & off with HP support, both on the phone and by e-mail. They did not come close to understanding or solve the problem and you resolved easily. It took only the Microsoft hotfix that you me bound. Thanks again.

It's a problem with Norton and not the Firefox browser with Norton of Suspicious.Cloud claim

She did this false positive Suspicious.Cloud with SeaMonkey for years every so often releases SM and Norton did not bother to fix it. Norton antivirus would claim a virus found in file freebl3.dll only there is not and never has been.

You have to be such a regular occurrence that they still singling out Norton in the known issues for SeaMonkey version notes for a few years as can be seen in http://www.seamonkey-project.org/releases/seamonkey2.33/#issues and appears until Norton finally fix it.

Messages on the claim of Suspicious.cloud with Firefox here (and mozillaZine) were infrequent compared to SeaMonkey.

  • I have windows XP SP2 and when I try to install SP3, the current installation stops the computer stops.

I was recently given an older laptop. I have windows XP Home Edition SP2. When I try to update windows, update web site scans my pc and says I need to install SP3 to update other windows. It downloads, but it starts to install, at Midway, the PC shuts down. When I power backup, windows starts to load, but discounts can go back every time. Only way I can get windows to work again is to join the conservation program and windows restore to before sp3 install atemp. I discovered that I need to install microsoft .net framework 2.0 SP2, but as it tries to install it, it stops and gives me an error code 1601. What is the problem and what can do to reslove? I don't know any history of what has been done until I got it. I know it works, but without SP3 and needs updated to work correctly. What can I do?

    Hello Chris3535,

Welcome to the community Microsoft and thanks for posting the question.

According to the description, it seems that you are having problems with Windows XP Service Pack 3. As I understand it, you cannot install Windows XP Service Pack 3.

Step 1: check first pre - it not to install Windows XP Service Pack 3

Steps to take before you install Windows XP Service Pack 3

Step 2: Perform the steps in the link and check.

You cannot install updates after a repair of Windows XP or after Windows XP SP3 is installed immediately after a new installation of Windows XP SP2

Meet us if you encounter any problems during the Installation of Windows XP SP3.  or any other matter of Windows and I would be happy to help you.

    Good day!

    Hope this information helps.
