Measuring frequency VirtualBench with LabView

Hey guys,.

I recently acquired a VirtualBench for testing through LabView. The test installation I want to do is very basic. Use a DC power supply to power a crystal as a device and the oscilloscope to measure the frequency of the device.

By using the software application OR virtual bench, I had the installation works perfectly in less than 5 minutes.

However, when I move the setting in Labview I don't know the correct VI so that I can output the frequency measured as an indicator of the façade.

I installed the drivers for the virtual bench and can set the output to DC and retrieve a graph of the frequency, but like I said, I can't find a single VI included in the package that will give me the frequency as a measure as the application software OR virtual bench.

I'm missing this VI right in front of me, or the VI for measuring frequency has not been created yet?

I enclose two photographs. One is the application virtual bench doing exactly what I want. The second photo is of the VI more close than I thought to take care of my needs (read the OSM aka paid), but as you can see the only way out is an analog output, no measure included frequency.

Thanks for any help!

Best,
Andy

There is a dial tone measures Express VI.  Or you can extract a single signal.

There are also many FFT analysis or spectrum of VI.

  • measurement of input frequency TTL with sheet metal entered on a device USB 6363

    Hi all

    Is there a simple LabView vi to measure the frequency of entry TTL cable for the entrance/s, four counters available on a device USB 6363?  I have LabView 2014 FDS installed. I guess using 2 4 meters would be better than 1 for 32-bit resolution, correct?

    Thank you

    Hi jac2015,

    There is an example of a measure of frequency located in LabVIEW help-> find examples-> material-> DAQmx entry and exit-> entrance of counter-> meter - reading pulse width and frequency (continuous) .vi

    Take a look at it and see if that helps. There is also a very useful white paper on considerations to make when measuring frequency, you can find here:

    «Measures of frequency: practical Guide»

    http://www.NI.com/Tutorial/7111/en/

    The main considerations is how often should the signal you want to measure?

    I hope this helps!

  • Is DAQ Measurement Computing USB - 1608FS compatible with labview?

    I have DAQ USB-1608FS from Measurement Computing company, and I was trying to see if it is possible to use

    This data acquisition with labview 2012. I tried to download the drivers from their company http://www.mccdaq.com/usb-data-acquisition/USB-1608FS.aspx

    but when I tried to use labview in the DAQmx the DAQ tool is not detect it by LabView. So, if anybody out there knows if this data acquisition

    really can work with labview, please let me know.

    Their driver seems to be ULx http://www.mccdaq.com/daq-software/universal-library-extensions-lv.aspx

    and he said that he supports LabVIEW 2012. I suppose you open a sample and the device does not appear? The device is displayed in the Windows Device Manager? It seems that this driver/device will work, there may be just a few questions it initialize properly on your machine (either with Windows or Measurement Computing software). You must be to open a debate on their forums or call their support help line.

    Good luck! Let us know some of the above and, of course, let us know if find you the solution.

  • Get incremental counter/sound to work along side with action with usb-6008 with labview tia sal22

    Get incremental counter/sound to work along the coast with usb-6008 with labview tia sal22

    Hi all

    I can get this vi to work if they are distinct from the vi but I can't join them together

    Example of my error:

    If buffers are set to 0 the freq counter increment works, but no sound
    If the buffers are set to 1 the audio works fine but is not increment the Freq counter
    If the buffers are attached to more 1 clicks and pops are coming

    That's what I'm doing:
    (1) have the frequency of increment of my internal sound card to a certain level as .01hz a second until he gets to 20 000 hz

    (2) use my device usb-6008 daq, which is connected to the same machine to measure the voltage at the same time. (I am in a position very low voltages between 1-5volts)

    (3) output to a worksheet text file which will show you:

    time in seconds, frequency, voltage
    0,400.01,2

    1,400.02,2.5

    2,400.03,1

    I'm a bit confused about how connect the increment and the audio during the measurements with the usb-6008 housing on the same machine
    at the same time and in the same VI.

    Anyone have any ideas?  I'm using labview 8.5

    Ha ha you have been deceived by a dynamic thread. Insert a convert from Dynamic Data Express VI (Palette to own: Signal handling screw Express) between the daq read and build the array function. Then it won't work. Now the value in the dynamic data is only converted to a numeric value

  • Read file test.txt (binary or what?) with LabVIEW 8.6

    Dear friends!

    Please, how to read the attached file (test.txt) with LabVIEW 8.6.  In the same VI, can I convert it in a txt file real with the results presented in the rows and columns? Please, any idea? I need help!

    The rebooting of the trace file is binary.

    Unfortunately, without a description of the real file by developers RELAP format, I don't think you are going to get very far on the decoding of the file.

    You must get directly in contact with the authors RELAP.

    Here's the blurb to the RELAP Manual:

    3.1.4.2 the reboot-Plot file.

    The restart-trace file contains almost all the parameters of calculation

    (Sub fractions, pressures, temperatures, flow rates, etc.) for transient computing together.

    A common misconception is that a parameter must be specified using a minor in change request

    in order to be available in the reboot-trace file when the calculation is complete. Affects a minor change request

    only the printed output. The restart-trace file is accessible repeatedly that the new data should arise. However,.

    during a calculation, the data are written to the reboot-trace only for minor editing file (and the plot point)

    frequency. Once a calculation has been performed, it is not possible to recover data between data

    written to the file to restart-track of the points. Therefore, it is important to choose a minor edit (and plot the point)

    frequency that provides the plot to an interval appropriate to the problem is resolved. In practice,.

    the minor change (and plot point) frequency must be changed during the calculation as the product of the problem

    from one phase to the other. Common points must be selected in the phases of problem where rapid

    RELAP5-3D/2.4

    INEEL-EXT-98-00834-V5 3-18

    setting changes are expected. For the economy, less common points must be selected in the phases

    where the conditions of rest are expected.

    Calculations are usually made using several reboots. (See Volume II for the restart entry

    requirements.) For example, a new problem runs from 0 to 10 seconds. This first part is analyzed and

    Run again from time zero that errors will be corrected. When a managed to 10 seconds has been calculated, a

    restart run is made (for example, 10 to 30 seconds), and so on. RELAP5-3D

    © offers you the possibility of

    change of almost any feature of the model at any point of restart. When changes to the model are incorporated on

    reboot, reboot-plot file reflects those changes only after the decimal point in the calculation, where they have been

    implementation. In the example above, if an injection system is added to the model to 10 seconds, then data

    for added components exists only for the time after 10 seconds. Changes, deletions and additions of model

    are constantly being implemented. If a model change is done in 10 seconds, the revised model remains in

    effect unless other changes are made to subsequent restart points.

    When a calculation is completed, the restart-trace file becomes a valuable document of the

    calculation. If lost, replacement would require reperforming the calculation, usually to the considerable

    loads. At a later date, the file can be accessed and previously compressed data can be obtained as

    necessary to extend the analysis. Therefore, it is recommended that files of restart-track of the important calculations

    be protected safely and permanently.

  • Raspberry PI connected with usb for laptop with Labview

    Hello

    Please allow me to introduce myself: my name is Bob and I just graduated from the Bachelor of applied science (Physics), in the Netherlands. In education, I followed a course of programming in Labview. However, the course was not very well if I want to start from scratch. (my programming skills are very poor).

    My goal is to learn the basics of programming in Labview. I want to measure the temperature with a probe for example and read this in Labview. I need a data acquisition for this system. I have a raspberry PI in my possession and I was wondering if I could use it to read the temperature from the USB port of my laptop using the PI raspberry. Is this possible? And I have to run some sort of program on the raspberry PI? Or I could better use another device (Arduino maybe?).

    I hope someone could help me to help me get started with Labview. I'm looking forward to learn how to work with Labview and launch a few projects.

    Thanks in advance,

    Bob

    Are you comfortable with writing code on the invoice, pro forma raspberry? This is where you write the code for the acquisition of data and code to send it on the usb as a RS232 serial port. The LabVIEW program would receive all this and it is a very simple program. There is a tool called Linx box that does all this for the arduino.

  • What is a low cost switch which can speak with Labview?

    Hello! I apologize if this question is in the wrong forum auxiliary; Let me know a more appropriate and I will happily move it.

    I have a chip test with four aircraft on what I measure through an amplifier to lock. Currently, we can make a measurement, then have to physically move the connection to test the following. I would like to automate this process. I hunted around for a cost relatively low switch that can talk with Labview and allow him to select one of the four signals in turn, but did not have much luck. I was wondering if anyone had recommendations or devices that they had worked with.

    Thanks in advance,

    Dan

    Dan,

    I was looking at using reed relays.  Download those with golden contacts so that they work well to currents microampere.  Use a with digital outputs DAQ card to drive the relay.  Before you buy, check current relay coils and exits Digital DAQ hardware.

  • Measures of constraints with the NI 9219

    Hi all

    I join this forum and I need bit of advise on measurement of deformation using NI 9219 with lab view.

    I followed the procedure and settings to configure a virtual channel to strain under global virtual channel of NI DAQ mx.

    I need some clarification on strain gauge measures:

    1. If I use 1 quarter bridge configuration should I NI 9219 completion resistors?

    2.i have ordered strain gauges, but I can imitate the calculations of strain with labview gauge using a variable resistor instead of active Gages? as I understand, it's strain gauges to change resistance when the force is applied.based on this notion if I use a variable resistor on one leg of wheatstone bridge and plot the data? all I want is to play with lab view until I get the real strain gauges. (will take a week to get deleivered)

    3. affecting the internal Vex I think that I will not need to apply any voltage to the terminals of the bridge as the strain of installation window.i would just need to connect to the ends of the stone bridge of wheat to the PIN number 3 and 5 in the comment of 9129.please OR who...

    I have to really thank and appreciate all of you for taking the time and reading/commneting on my post.

    Kind regards

    Ali

    Hi Engr_tech,

    9219 a resistance integrated half-bridge completion, but for quarter-bridge measures, it must rely on resistance measurements 2 son.  It does not support the measures of quarter 3-wire bridge.  I'm not familiar with the help of a variable resistor instead an active gauge so I can't comment on that.  Looks like your #3 idea would work, although I'm not 100% certain.  It will be unsupported, but it could work.

  • Identification system measured by comparing with simulated

    Hello, I want to be able to match a simulated model

    a measure.

    I started with the release of a square to a lowpassfilter rc, and I measure of output.

    In parallel, I want to run the simulated reaction and if possible have the response simulated in the same graph.

    I also want to use Labviews built built-in functions somehow.

    Grateful for more help!

    PS Ce is not a homework problem, I'm not a student, I work as an instructor and I am a beginner with Labview.

    Shit! It works!

    I replaced the blocks in the block of simulation with Labview 2010 vi

    After pressing the stop button, I have the voltage of the rc-filter and simulated in the same graph!

    It's big!

    Thanks Barp!

  • IMAQ PCI-1424 compatibility with Labview 8.6

    Hi, the computer that I used for image analysis had a broken motherboard issue, and I replaced it with a new one. I removed both the drives and the jury from the old computer to the new and then installed IMAQ Labview 8.6, but Labview 8.6 is not compatible with the software programmed with labview 5.0, so I uninstalled Labview 8.6 and re-installed Labview 6.0 image processing. I still have some problems to run the Analyzer software and image processing. After you have uninstalled the software or labview, the computer does not start correctly, poping up error as information "check your hard drive to ensure that it is properly configured and completed. Run CHKDSK /F to check for hard drive corruption, and then restart your computer."

    Some basic information on this computer and the image acquisition system (introduced in 2000) are as follows:

    • Windows 2000 operating system;
    • LabVIEW 5.0 basic package;
    • IMAQ vision for Labview advanced;
    • IMAQ PCI-1408, Cables IMAQ-BNC-1 and or-IMAQ for Windows NT / 95;
    • IMAQ-A2504-1 (1 m).
    • Sony XC - 55 1/3 "Interline transfer progressive scan CCD, 659 (H) X 494 (V), C-mount with JB - 77, SERVICES-12 p-02 and DKT503M;
    • Computar H1212FI 1/2 "mount C 12 mm w/focus and iris (10 inches FOV at 24 work dist.);
    • Extension tube Kit Computar VM100;
    • GRAFTEK high frequency fluorescent light 11 ";

    -What hardware IMAQ I use compatible with Labview 6.0 or 8.6? Should I install also drivers for the hardware of the IMAQ when I remove the card IMAQ? All the solutions for my problems? Thank you very much in advance!

    Hi simpra,.

    Here are two links to articles that list compatibility between Windows & LabVIEW and LabVIEW and IMAQ.   Why do you say that the image processign software was not compatible with the LV 8.6?  A message appear?  Or it simply did not work?  Also, are you talking about Module Vision Development, by chance?

    I'm afraid that I can't help hard drive corruption, if that's the case here.  Have you been able to go beyond that?

    My suggestion is to upgrade to the latest version possible.

    I hope this helps!
