Media factory reset?

Hello

I recently tried to restore my laptop but one of the DVD containing the recovery image has been damaged, causing the restore to fail.

I went through the support site, but I have not found a way to download the images for the recovery media. Is it possible to get the dvd / iso?

Furthermore, I live in the Canada and the portable computer is an Inspiron 17R 7720 SE

Thanks in advance for your help

Martin.

You will need to call Dell Canada - there will be a charge for the media, if you are no longer under warranty.

If a church sister of mine, gave me his Dell Inspirion 3520 (Windows 8) to the difficulty. There was a windows update on which would not be completed, no matter how many times she has restarted. I managed to fix it and he crossed, showing the percentage to complete and it's usual reboot to complete. But after 20 minutes in the update, he said he was installing Windows 7! o.O

After this "update", what remained was a clean install of Windows 7 Pro. It "seemed" she rolled back to Windows 7, because I can see the previous operating system in a Windows.old folder. But how a Windows 8 system back to Windows 7?

in any case, I'm trying this system of factory reset so she can retrieve his computer. I see the OEM partitions on the disk, so I hope it's doable. I have installed Dell Backup and Restore. He said: he must first create an image. OK, 2 hours later it cancelled and said 'user cancelled the process, uninstall Dell Backup and Restore. " But I cancel anything! o.O

So I tried to run again, and I got even more options. Hope to see something to do a factory reset, but most close option is to create a media factory reset. I plugged a USB 16 GB, click Next, and it gave me an error saying that "there was a mistake in the process. o.O

So I'm stuck. Is there another way I could get their mobile phone factory reset?
I was able to install it by using a Windows 8 ISO from Microsoft site, instead of the factory reset?
    Any other advice?

Before going any further - run a diagnostic extended hard disk (f12 at startup to join Dell diagnostics).  A failed hard drive is quite possible.

If the drive passes the scope - and not only the flesh to live - diagnostic, which shows of BONE on the product key label (in the battery compartment)?  It may be the system comes with 7, but has been improved to 8.

At this point, you can take advantage of the upgrade of WIndows 10 - it's free and you can get the Microsoft installation media.  Just check the label of the product key so that you get the right version (it is unlikely that this system is delivered with 7 Pro - House is on the label, you should just Windows 10 (not Pro).)  Your product key will work to install Windows 10 on the system.

All this is based on a faulty hard drive.

If the system shuts down during the diagnostic tests, you can have an overheating problem (is the system running hot?-if so, remove the heat sink assemblies dust).  If it is not hot but switched off, you probably have a bad mother.

  • Win 10 Factory Reset

I'm hoping for a solution to what has slowly turned into a nightmare, laptop came originally with Windows 7, upgrade to Win 10 online using an account of outlook.com as audit log.

After a stay of 6 weeks, I inadvertently entered the password wrong outlook.com too many times and therefore has been locked on Windows 10. After trying all the options of recovery without success, I've been advised by Microsoft, the only option is a factory reset.

Have copies of all the files in my hard I google drive how to reset the Toshiba to factory settings which looked simple enough, hold reset when turned on - wait for the beep and follow the instructions, unfortunately after the beep that Windows continues to load.

It would appear that the factory reset data has been overwritten or are not applicable to win 10.

Another Google search and the best advice that I can find is to buy Toshiba reset support, unfortunately, it seems that they only provide the media until Windows 8.1.

I am at a loss what my next steps should be, it seems, only option is to buy a copy of win 10, but before I go down this road thought that I would ask if anyone can help?

    Thanks in advance

Try to maintain F12 during the power up to see the boot device menu, then select "disk HARD Recovery.
This brings you to the screen Win10 troubleshooting. Choose "Reset" or "Refresh".

Hello, I watch/read thousand video's / forums on how to factory reset in the Toshiba Satellite L750-115. Everywhere I found that "press 0 during startup. But it didn't work for me. When I try to get help from the toshiba Web site, I can still get my cell phone.

If anyone can help me, it will be very nice...

In General, you have two options:
You would use HARD drive recovery option to recover the computer laptop back to settings factory, or you must use the recovery Toshiba (disk or USB) media which must be created using the Toshiba recovery media creator software.

But this means of communication should be established as long as the laptop works properly...

Have you created this support in the past?
If this isn't the case, you can use the option of recovery of HARD drive, BUT ONLY if the HARD drive and partitions are not affected!

I guess that Windows 7 is pre-installed on your laptop.
Well, in this case power unit, then press F8
Then you should get the advanced boot menu... Choose here: fix my computer...
    Then Toshiba HDD recovery.

If this is not possible, drive HARD recovery is not possible and the only way of recovering the laptop is the use of the recovery disk...
As mentioned, if you do not have the disk, you can try ordering this support here:

    Hello;

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

I read your post about the need to do a factory reset and wanted to help.

What will work restores your computer to its original factory state using HP recovery media. It is a set of DVD and a CD or a USB key, which will erase the hard drive (removing all data, applications and settings, reinstall the original OS, drivers and utilities for HP. In some cases, you will be able to order a USB instead of discs.  You must order at HP; they cannot be downloaded.

You can look online for recovery from the paged media related: http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers

Once there, enter your product name or number. On your software page and download the drivers, select your operating system and version. Click on "Update".  If the HP recovery support is available for your computer, down near the bottom of the page, you will see an entry for the command Recovery Media-CD/DVD/USB. Click on the symbol '+' to expand this entty and click on order to press for more details.

Or, if you prefer, you can do the same by contacting HP Customer Service:

If you live in the United States or the Canada, details are on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/phone-assist.html#section1

If you live elsewhere, contact details are on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-contact-us.html

NOTE: once you get through, stay on the line until you are finally able to talk to someone ' one - it can take a while!

When you talk about customer support, tell them that your PC is only a few months and they may be willing to send you the recovery media for shipping only.

Note that if HP no longer provides a recovery media for your model, a few other sites, you can check are: http://www.computersurgeons.com/ and http://www.restoredisks.com/

    Good luck

I'm a volunteer and I do not work for, or represent, HP.

  • For Equium L20 factory reset

Recently I went to run a new anti-virus program that I had downloaded, but it said I didn't have enough room to run it. I went to the list of add or remove programs and essentially removed everything that I have ever used, or he said had not been used since 2005.

It seems I accidentally deleted something quite important, and now my internet is not working, my laptop is seen probems marketing, and its just be generally slow and not make it as its meant to do.

I managed to back up everything that I can do a factory reset. the thing is that I bought my laptop used, because I could not afford a new at the time, so I don't have a recovery disk.

My laptop is an Equium L20 - can anyone help?

    > Other ideas?
You can try to contact the nearest authorized service provider. Maybe they can help you.

But to be honest, you need to recovery media. You can use the CD of Microsoft facilities for the installation of the OS. All the drivers, tools and utilities that you can download at Toshiba supports the page.

  • HP ENVY 17 Notebook PC: Can't activate Windows 8 Pro after a factory reset (hard drive reformatted).

    Hello:

I had to make a drastic clean the C drive of my ENVY 17 laptop and did a Factory Reset. I was able to reload Windows 8 Pro to my USB stick recovery.

However, Windows 8 Pro cannot be reactivated indicating that the product key is invalid or blocked. I understand that this is due to having the OS completely cleaned and formatted drive.

    My questions are:

    1. Will be the HP (which is available on order) recovery disks be able to help solve the situation described above?
    2. It will allow me to reactivate my Windows 8 Pro?
    3. Will the recovery be HP discs/media contain or are marked with the correct Windows product key?

    Thank you

What can I do to stop the program?

    Hey @GwenC,

Please try the steps prescribed by my colleague. The path to resolution would play a HP System Recovery. You can learn more about this process here. • Laptop HP 15-g019WM: factory reset

Product delivered with Windows 8.1 (not sure if 32 or 64-bit).  Try recovery for a friend who isn't technically able.  Recovery HP to factory using a complete factory resets using all DVD 5, created during the initial setup of the machine.  Have since upgraded to Windows 10, but that the upgrade can be done again after a reset complete.  Am page preparation of Factory Image Recovery and I have the lines of reformatting and copying the files audited.  Progress goes to 12% with 18 minutes from the end and process freezes (several attempts and still freezes 12%). After a long wait, an error message appears indicating that the target drive is not connected.  Tempted to use a DVD player external as suggested in a tech forum, but it did not work as the system cannot read from the external drive. Is there a solution to this problem, which does not require disassembly of the machine to take the external drive as suggested in another tech forum?  Or is it a clean image DVD set which can provide HP that won't cause this problem.

    Hello

The machine originally shipped with Windows 8.1 64 bit (home).

If you wish to order a replacement set of media recovery for Windows 8.1, you can make from then on the link below.

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/mediaorder/HP-15-G000-notebook-PC-series/6545564/model/6761879/softwareitem/819421-001/STEP1

Another solution, if you intend to upgrade the laptop for Windows 10 once again, would be just to perform a new installation of 10 - as the machine has been previously upgraded to 10, a hardware profile (digital rights) will have been saved by the activation servers.

As long as the previous installation of Windows 10 had activated Ok after upgrade from 8.1, you just create your own installation media and perform a new installation as described in the guide on the following link.  Note: On the activation screen, select "I don't have a product key" - Windows will activate automatically once installation is complete.

  • Issue of ThinkPad tablet 2 Factory Reset reinstall Windows

Please help me. I have problems to reinstalling windows on my thinkpad Tablet 2. I have a long enough thread explaining my problem here, http://forum.tabletpcreview.com/lenovo-ibm/62633-thinkpad-tablet-2-factory-reset-reinstall-windows.h... if someone could help me I would be very grateful. I'll copy and paste the thread here, if I have to, but it's just easier to copy the link.

    Fastest salvation,

I had similar problems to you with a number of our TPT2s. They are really picky when it comes to boot from an external support. Here's how I got mine to (possibly) regularly start on external media. However, one thing to note is that, in order to recover Windows 8 on it, you're either going to need disk recovery Lenovo or an installation of Windows 8 of your own disc. I have no idea if the drivers listed on the Lenovo site will work with anything as old as XP, although I remember some Windows 7 see so if you have a Win7 disc you might try that.

    1. disable the Secure Boot UEFI in the BIOS. [BIOS |] SECURITY | SECURE BOOT | [* Change the secure startup flag ' disabled]

2 get some kind of separator/hub USB so that you can plug your external DVD drive with a keyboard (Microsoft still require you to "push any key to boot from CD" and touch the screen does not count).

    3. with the drive and the keyboard is connected, set the boot order in the BIOS so that the CD/DVD drive is the first boot option. I also push the Windows boot manager at the bottom of the list if it is there. Do, but I'm a superstitious Guy and save the changes.

    4. as long as the DVD drive has adequate power (need an external power supply. He cannot draw enough power from the USB port of the tablet to run) and you have a Windows disc 8/7 in the drive, you should now receive the message "press any key to boot from the CD-ROM. Press a button and it should... Finally... it takes much longer than any normal device... starting in the installation menu.

Each step of this lasts longer than you expect. For example, it takes an age for the message "Press any key" is displayed. It just sits there with a black screen and the DVD blowing away.

That's how I got mine to work in any case, best of second chance.
