Microsoft hosted network

I create a network hosted by using the command line. I was wondering if there is no way to block a MAC address by using the command line. The most I can do is run the netsh wlan show hostednetwork command to see what mac address is located on the network, but I can't block everything. Is there a way to do this?

This is my first time posting and I do not see a category to put this so I'll just put it in a category at random.

I had the same problem and that's what I did on my PC Win7:

(Forgive me if my English is not good)

    1. verification of my network hosted in my driver. I have run the administrator command prompt and type netsh wlan start hostednetwork
    If you get this message:
The hosted network could not be started. The group or resource is not in the correct state to perform the requested operation.

Then you have the same problem with me. It is the next step.
    2. check my driver. Type of command line: netsh wlan show pilot
Then I saw that my support pilot hosted network. If your driver does not support hosted network, I suggest update you your driver or reinstall it.
How FND out your driver and update: Start - Control Panel - system and safety - device (under System) Manager - ECS

    3. If your drivers support hosted network but still will not start, then the problem could be that you do not have Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter (the same problem happened to me). You can search and download. I tried and installed the new card.
Now I have Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter under network cards, in Device Manager.
    4. I tried step 1 and it worked! So I can run my Connectify and this error message never showed even once.
I hope this works for you also.

    b. click view and press on ' see the hidden devices.

    c. go down the list of devices and expand the "network devices".

  • T450s: Hosted network feature not supported?

I have a ThinkPad T450s bought in Dec 2015 with Windows 10 Pro. It has the Intel AC 7265 wireless card. I am trying to use the hosted network feature Windows to use the laptop as a hotspot for other devices, but I can't make it work.

When I open an administrator command prompt and run "netsh wlan show drivers", the parameter ' hosted network supported:' has the value 'no '.

I tried updating the wireless network card driver via the tool companion of Lenovo, via the Intel driver update utility and Windows via the Device Manager. The wireless driver has been updated to version 18.330.1 dated dated 05-01-2016. Then, I rebooted the machine but still no improvement. The characteristic hosted network shows as not supported. I also tried showing the devices hidden in Device Manager but under network adapters, there is no virtual card listed Microsoft hosted network.

Is this a driver problem? Anyone with a broadcast network animated T450s as being taken in charge?

    Thank you

Well, I found a solution on the Intel community forum: https://communities.intel.com/message/327193. A couple of users in this thread (the one with a Lenovo X 1 carbon) suggested to use an older version of 18.11 18.12 driver. So that's what I did and it worked! Here are my actual steps:

  • Pavilion 15 ab214TX: access point does not (hosted network supported: No.) (Realtek RTl8723BE)

I am not able to hotspot with the software or cmd. I have only checked in the Device Manager, there are no drivers "Hosted Microsoft Virtual network adapter" available. I have the latest driver for my wifi (Realtek RTl8723BE) card. Also in the cmd... supported hosted network said NO! can someone please me the latest drivers

installed this version of the driver... I think it is assigned by microsoft... everything works fine now

  • Example: Pavilion ac123tx: hosted network does not start

in my computer hp laptop ac123tx (preloaded with win 10 OS) not able to start the wifi hotspot because it lacks the virtual network adapter hosted Microsoft. I tried to start the hosted network from cmd prompt, but every time it gives message hosted network could not be started. The group or resource is not in the correct state to perform the requested operation. what need have the solution to this?

  • "The hosted network could not be started."

I recently bought a Samsung Galaxy S2 and when trying to connect to my Wifi network, I found that the signal from the router was not strong enough to reach the floor, and since I have a laptop connected with a cable that I thought I could make it work like a virtual router. After some research, I found several programs:

I tried Connectify, which did not work. Then I tried Virtual Router, that does not work either. Then, I found this:

And it worked, the network appeared in the list on my phone. Unfortunately, when you try to connect, it got stuck on ' Optaining IP-address '.
I tried to use a static IP address, and even with one put in place, it got stuck on ' Optaining IP-address '.
After that, I have been clicking through the menus a lot and hit accidentally turn off somewhere. Since then, when I try to start the virtual router, it says:
The hosted network could not be started.
The group or resource is not in the correct state to perform the requested operation.
I can't find the place where I hit the turn off, and I don't know what to do more :(

    Hi all

I had this problem and I solved it.

    The solution is:

    1. go into Device Manager.

    2. click on view and then on "see the hidden devices.

    3. go down the list of devices and expand the "network devices".

    4. find an adapter with the name "Microsoft Hosted virtual network card" and then right-click on it.

    6. This will allow the AdHoc created the connection, it must appear in the network connections in the network and sharing Center, if the connection to the ad hoc network does not appear then open the elevated command prompt and apply this command "netsh wlan stop hostednetwork" without the quotes.

    7. After this, the connection should appear.

  • No Edge 15 Broadcom 802.11ac none hosted network management and stability problems

I have a new edge 15 that came with Windows 10 64-bit pre-installed. I want to be able to run the soft AP WiFi so I can connect to my wifi adapter.

The WiFi card is a Broadcom 802.11ac and according to other computers using Dell with the same chip, but the Dell Windows 7 driver supports hosted network supports. But on my computer with the latest driver 7.35.267.0 dated 05/14/15, supported network hosted shows no., which means that the pilot and the chip does not support.

It seems that it's a driver problem and hardware supports hosted networks.

Also, sometimes when I turn on my computer, the WiFi does not detect the AP. It's the continuous offshore. I can get the connectivity by deactivation and reactivation of the interface. A pain. Not a big pain, but pain. Looks like the driver reload or turn on the radio after that sleep does not work properly.

Can Lenovo if you please provide a stable driver for the Broadcom chip work.

    Thank you.

I ended up completely reinstall windows 10 and uses the stock drivers.

No bloat ware lenovo. Works fine now.
