mini h710p forget right SATA raid after restart?

Hello

I have trouble adding a new hard drive in my existing server. My server is R720 and with 2 virtual disk (the two 3-drive raid 5, HDD SAS)

I just want to add a SATA hard drive, so I inserted the disc at the front and Ctrl-R in the raid configuration, press F2 to create new VD and add the disk, check the initialization, and after clicking ok system the initization is completed as in 2 seconds. It all seems normal. And I pressed the ESC key to exit, System told me to Ctrl-Alt-Del... OK, very good.

However, after the restart in the startup message Raid card, it says that my newly created VD02 doesn't have the drive and will be inadequate. The exact message is:

The following virtual disks are missing: 02 If you continue (or load the configuration utility), these virtual disks will be deleted from your configuration. If you want to use them later, they will have to be imported. If you believe that these virtual disks should be present, please turn off your system and check your cables to ensure all disks are present. Press any key to continue, or 'C' to load the configuration utility.

Tried updating raid card to the latest firmware (21.3.2 - 0005), to build a raid 1 with a SATA 2 drive instead of one, replace the hard disk, build the raid using raid tool in the bios, all with the same result.

I have not installed any kind of dell openmanage.

Tried a blink and unblink disc, there is no problem. And of course I unplug the disc after the reboot.

I have once again, read the instructions and see that SAS & SATA drives are supported simultaineously, as long as they are not in the same virtual disk. What did I miss? Any help is appreciated.

It is certainly the case. Probably more so now then years... and for different reasons.

Company leads to meet SATA or SAS standards and increasingly being designed to run 24 x 7, are designed to react differently to the controllers and behave differently with regard to the maintenance of data in redundancy (standalone vs) environment.

EACH disc is designed for a specific purpose these days - some for storage of low power in a NAS capability, some to access high-performance RAID arrays, some for use Office/casual consumer, some for quick access to the database, others for a slower archival capacity. A bit of research necessary to make sure that you have the good tech for the good work. Use the Server grows in servers, NAS NAS drives, disks of desktop/laptop computer in desktop computers / cell phones, etc.

Using a player from the server as a stand-alone drive in a laptop Desk/computer is as bad to use a portable office/computer in a server... you may lack of reliability and the potential loss of data.

I'm trying to set up a dual-boot XPpro on my Vista machine.  I found the instructions detailed at various locations.  I prepared a score of 30G on my SATA drive and booted from my XPpro and XPpro (SP2) retail drives.  The score is quite small because I have only use for some applications.

I have the following problem and I wonder if anyone can help.  The disk and partition is by my SP2 disc, but it's ok that BONE is not used on any other machine.

I can choose the new partition as the location for the new installation of XP.

Installation gets to the point where the first reboot is required, then at startup, I'm stuck on the option 'press any key to boot from the CD-ROM.  I assume that the reader is not detected.  If I try to start from scratch, I get the warning that the new partition already has an operating system on it, but I can reformat and move forward, then arrive at the startup problem re.

There is no XP drivers for my Board, but I can not install them because they are on CD and the only option to load the specific drivers in the first part of install required has a diskette is in the drive, and of course I don't have a floppy drive.

    Hello

I made a disc of slipstream with nLite as suggested, my sata drivers included but still could not circumvent this problem.  Installation kept insisting that they had to come from A:

  • There is no volume after restarting the device. Need urgent help

    Hello.

Our ReadyNAS RN31600 iSCSI target device. We have (had) two LUNS of 8 terabytes each built on X - RAID 5, which are presented on a Windows Server.

This device is less than a year, and he began to have problems today. First two LUNS disappeared from the iSCSI (WS 2008 R2) client. When we tried to restart the NAS server, he's hanging on "restart now, see you soon."

We power off of the switch and after restarting, two LUNS seem to have disappeared, and the unit is empty somehow? How to solve this problem? Or is it quite normal on the Netgear devices to suddenly lose 16 terabytes of data?

The GUI shows "there is no volume" and also "delete inactive volumes using disk. Disc # 1,2,3,4,5,6 ". This means that all the disks.

    Firmware is 6.4.0.

And no, we don't have backups, because this device is used to a backup unit.

I suggest you to contact support (support.netgear.com), because I think it will be faster than from here.

  • After restarting windows and then no error in config/system is finally windows starts successfully with no problems quo. __

"windows couldnot start because the following file is missing" c:/windows/system32/config/system.
This message appears at the first start, but when I press ctrl + Alt + Delete, restart windows and then no error in config/system does finally come windows starts successfully without problem usually. I searched on the internet that all solutions are given if windows XP does not start. But in my case after restart only a single window loads successfully. I'm dubious before using the recovery console.
    Please help everyone,
no case I found the solution to this particular problem.

The question was preceded by a loss of power, aborted reboot or abnormal termination? (This includes pulling and buttons power).

These can cause corruption in the file system that must be fixed before you do anything else. If none of these events occurred (or even if they have not taken place), you must verify the integrity of your file system before anything else (especially "try" things).

Never, never, never start with the support engineer technical 'expert' who are hired by Microsoft to implement the KB307545.  You are likely to be in for a frustrating waste of time and might just make things worse.

Always, always, always start with a chkdsk with first error correction.

There is zero logic to start try to copy files to a hard drive with a corrupted file system so corruption of file system must be fixed first using the XP chkdsk program and run chkdsk can solve your problem completely.
Use the XP Recovery Console to check the file system on your HARD drive and fix the problems and then try to start your system - this may be all you need to do.  Or, you are welcome to just start trying things that might work.
Start the Recovery Console Windows using an XP bootable installation CD, or create a bootable CD from the Console of the Recovery XP (no XP media required).
A CD of XP Recovery Console is not the same as the recovery disks that may have come to a store to purchase the system.
If you have any bootable CD to run the XP Recovery Console or that you are not sure what type of bootable CD you have, can create a bootable XP Recovery CD of Console and don't forget (no support for XP not necessary).
If you need instructions to create a bootable XP Recovery CD of Console, we can predict that too (just ask).
After booting into the Recovery Console, you should be in this folder:
    C:\WINDOWS
For each of your hard disk partitions, you must then run:
    Chkdsk /r
For example, at the Recovery Console prompt, enter:
    CHKDSK c: /r
Let chkdsk finish to correct the problems, he could find.  It may take a long time to complete or seem to be 'glued '.  Be patient.  If the HARD drive light flashes, it's something.  Keep an eye on the amount of the percentage to be sure that it is still making progress.  It may even seem to go back sometime.
The chkdsk/r must be completed without error, you may need to run several times until it does.
Remove the CD, and then type "exit" to exit the Recovery Console and restart the computer and the report with your progress.

  • I was somehow infected and after restarting the laptop, it goes to a white screen.

    Original title: Virus

I have an old HP Pavilion 2008. I was somehow infected and after restarting the laptop, it goes to a white screen. Not even the HP logo lights up. I can't access installation even though I know which key press.

I created a bootable windows DVD 7 and a USB port. I can not even boot from one of them. With the DVD, it sounds like it wants to read, but there is something else wrong.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If the HP logo comes and you can't access BIOS, the problem is more likely to be at a lower level. A failed HARD drive should not prevent you from access to the configuration.

Several things can cause the logo appears at the top (I write from a HP Pavillion 2008). I've dealt with many laptops such as yours and have seen many causes. Faulty RAM memory is a. A problem with the video chip is another. In fact several kinds of tokens (two bridges, video..). A virus is more unlikely but not impossible (if he messed with your BIOS, it is possible).

If you don't see movement in your DVD or HARD drive, something I'm leaning more towards the video chip. Especially if it's Nvidia or Radeon - it would be a miracle if you use an HP laptop of 9 years with a powerful video (so that there is time) without having had any problems with it until now (mine is Intel). They overheat easily.

What I would do in your case:

    1. remove the battery and unplug the unit. Give it 10 minutes and see what happens. Small chance, it would be useful, but it's easier to test.

    2. If you are reluctant to remove anything yourself proceed to 4. Otherwise, open the case and look for a reset (might want to read in the manual how to do it), remove the internal battery.

3 try to remove the first (try to run) then the other of your plates to RAM (assuming you have two). During the race, all the tests remove the drive HARD and DVD just to eliminate the possibility of interference. If you manage to get started and get the logo and enter BIOS start adding parts back one by one and you will find the faulty one.

    4. If it at a gas station. Now you can do anything, if you can not enter BIOS so it must be a hardware change.

  • Problems after restarting the vAPP vCOPS

Hey there - I am under vCOPS 5.

I noticed that some VM indicated "no data" in their respective details panels... I read somewhere the restart of the service was the way to solve this problem...

At the time I was not aware of the mode of command line to restart the service (from the resumption of vcops-admin Ui box), so I right click the VAPP vCOPS itself clicked shutdown, expected some time after that he had done and he turned his back.

Tried to login using the domain name COMPLETE on the web of the said server browser is not available - redirect where possible... shortly there after it struck me to a 404 screen.

I checked in the vSphere Client IP are different and static, I then connected the box to user interface and run a summary, he showed the VM analytics from the same Ip address... so I ran the repair tool (repair vcops-admin - XXXXXXXXXXXXX ipaddress) with the address of the VM analytics... They say "fixed" after restarting the service once again, but after another analytical perspective - showed the same thing.

I read that in v1 vCOPS, it was a graphic incompatibility known - and ignore it.  So-what could be the problem?  Let me know (I've already checked there is disk space)

Thanks in advance for any help!

    Leffingwell,

Can you check how much space is left on the partition/data of each virtual machine?  the 404 error means a webservice started, but one of the DB background servers probably didn't.

If either/data is near or at 100% full, then you need to turn off the TIME... Add a new drive... power back on.

When you add a drive, take all the default settings... and preferably choose style Eager zero thick (runs faster than the other two).

    Best regards

  • After restart ESXI Virtual Machine back to start

I have an a bit Esxi 4 Virtual Machine but he is the one who each time to restart VmWare machine system begins to start, if I put a file or install software after restart all software and data are cleaned of VmWare and I have to reinstall all, why?

This Virtual Machine is a migration of a real machine.

    Welcome to the forums

There is an explanation why this can happen.

1 VM start after reboot of the host:

Look under the tab of host - start/stop the Virtual Machine configuration

See if this virtual machine is enabled to start when the start host

Disable this if you do not want that it

    2. all changes on VM ignored after reboot

Right-click the virtual machine and choose change setting

Take a look at the hard drive options, it can be set to independent - not persistent

    Uncheck independent or select persistent

    Hello

I installed an Alfred Workflow (see code below) that will mark all my mails as read. After you run it for a minute, the mail has crashed and I had to forcequit. However, now, when you open the Mail it crashes instantly, even after restart and repair the permissions. I also used the Ctrl + C and CTRL-Z commands in the Terminal to leave the alfred_script, but nothing helped. I'm running out of ideas here, so I hope you could help me either reinstall the mail.app. I could always just switch to a different mail application, but it's kind of a last resort.

    Code:

    Tell application "Mail".

Define allAccounts on each account name

    Repeat with currAccount in allAccounts

the unreadMboxes value (each mailbox to the account currAccount the unread number is not 0)

    Repeat with currMbox in unreadMboxes

(read status of each message to currMbox including the playback State is set to false) true value

    end repeat

    end repeat

    tell the end

Any input would be greatly appreciated. Can post the report of crash on demand.

Not sure that Alfred's, but it's just an Applescript script and it would not cause Mail to be planted.

However, when running through all the messages, it is possible Mail database has been corrupted and it crashes because of this.

I'll probably get anything out of the accident report, but others might.

My first instinct would be to rebuild the mailbox. Because you can't do that with him crashing, you can simply delete the databases and it will rebuild them.

    Navigate to this folder:

    ~/Library/Mail/v3/MailData/

You can either manually through the files, or copy the full path and paste it into go the folder in the menu go to the Finder.
