Updated for Windows 10 online and now DVD player does not recognize nor activate to play DVDs with HP Media Player. Given message that MSVCP71.dll is missing and must be reinstalled. Can you guide me through this process?
Hello
Windows 10 won't come with a good media player, you have to pay for Windows Media Center. He will probably kill on your machine the player from CyberLink software too. Pouvez be able to re - install using CyberLink Media Player:
http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp64501-65000/sp64647.exe
or more
http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp59501-60000/sp59999.exe
If this isn't the case, please use the next free drive, he's going to play almost all video formats:

You try to play a DVD?
FWIW... Win XP cannot natively recognize Commercial

do a system restore to a time before this started
may be your solution.Or you could buy a DVD decoder at the following link:

Cannot open Windows 7 Pro Media Player
Original title: windows 7 pro MediaPlayer.
Windows media player does not open... I tried the restore without success. Something is wrong with the path I think.
Do these two steps [they are the closest thing possible to uninstall then reinstall WMP & will actually provide a new installation of WMP]
1 unload WMP *-control panel, programs and features, [left] turn on or off has Windows, multimedia features, clear box Windows Media Player, Yes, OK, restart the PC.
2 reload WMP - Panel, programs and features, [left] turn Windows features on or off, multimedia features, set the Windows Media Player box, Yes, OK, restart the PC.
* I guess that WMP has previously been loaded. WMP is a component of all editions of Windows 7 [but not for 'N' & 'KN' Versions] and is loaded by default for several editions of Windows 7 [it is not loaded by default for Pro or Ultimate Editions].

Tecra Z40 - 2 Windows 8.1 Pro DVD - Player DVD No.
Hello.
I just got a nice Toshiba Tecra Z40. I want to install widows 8.1 and according to the instructions, I boot on the DVD provided. There is a problem. Laptop computer does not have an optical drive, so I can't boot from the DVD.*
I tried to access the DVD on the network (my other windows computer with an optical drive), but there is no program can be used on the DVD.
Help, please
According to the specifications of the laptop your Tecra was delivered with Win7 preinstalled and additional recovery of Win8.1 DVD.
Prior to do any create the USB stick recovery use preinstalled Toshiba recovery media creator.
WIN8.1 that you can install it using recovery disks bootable Win8.1.
What you need is the USB external optical disc drive. This STRANGE USB is not expensive. Buy one, and you can use it for installation of Win8.1, but also in many other situations. Two years ago, I bought external USB BD WEIRD for 45 Euros. I also borrowed my friend with the same situation. He got by Satellite U940 without optical drive.

.ADMX Inetres (142) is missing from Windows 7 Pro 64-bit
When I open gpedit, a sequence of error boxes seems to read "an appropriate resource file could not be found for Windows\PolicyDefinitions\inetres (141) .admx and .admx inetres (142). I found the old file in the Explorer of Windows 7, but the latter was absent. Is that what I can do about it?

CD/DVD-drive missing when Windows 7 is installed.
I installed Win 7 32 bits, with a cd - everything works fine.
But the CD/DVD drive is missing from Device Manager.I did a Win 7 clean install and have installed all the drivers for the hardware (all from the manufacturer). I tried some things I mentioned forums, like the one to delete data in the registry. This didn t solve the problem. I even tried to install win 7 again (tried 64 bit as well).
Can anyone help?
Solved! I think so. I had the same problem - installed Windows 7 on my Zepto 6625WD and Windows 7 could not recognize my TSST SN-S082H DVD player, although everything worked again well under ubuntu. After several days of intermittent Googling, I came across this fix , which (even if it's for Vista) resolved my problems in Windows 7 - the DVD player is now detected and works perfectly.
Hope that helps...

Don't go DVD player on desktop Pc windows 7 network home for computer laptop windows 8
Desktop PC to Windows 7 with DVD player, I want to share on my network home wifi with my new windows laptop 8 who doesn't have a DVD player. I went to control panel to set the sharing but sharing was gray.
Hi Susan,.
The sharing option is grayed out, it is because it is not possible to share a DVD player on your system through a wireless network.
You can buy an external DVD drive that connects via a USB port to use on the laptop Windows 8.
Feel free to use the forum for the future to any other issue of Windows, you may have.
