Model of LabVIEW VeriStand 2013 IO question

During a project, that I'm working on, we decided to update our version of NI LabVIEW 2013 and 2013 VeriStand. For this project, we manage a combination of models, the .lvmodel and the .dll (compiled model Simulink). These models are deployed to an RMC 8354 using VeriStand. Following this update we have questions on our models LabVIEW successfully deploy. I was able to reproduce the problem with a very stripped down or isolated, version which I enclose. In this model, there is a digital control, a Boolean control, and a cluster that contains a digital control. There is also an indicator of each corresponding data types. All numerical values are double precision. The model block diagram is empty except for the controls and indicators, no cables or other elements. Without you connect controls and indicators of the model will be fine. If I connect the 3 orders and 3 indicators from different types of data, I get an error, the log to deploy it is attached to the post.

I am also attaching VeriStand project files, the VI of model and the integrated version of the model.

I wonder, can anyone, or any who already has, reproduced this unit or a similar problem? Anyone has any ideas on what may have caused this error to occur or how to solve the problem?

Also available as a download manual here. More information on patches can be found here.

  • Connect the large number of parameters and variables between Verstand and model of Labview

We have an installer of dyno with a chassis PXI-E running Veristand 2014 and 2014, inertia. In order to strengthen the capabilities and timing of the Veristand, I would use models of Labview to perform tasks is not possible by Veristand and inertia. An example of this is to determine the maximum amount of a large number of thermocouples. VeriStand has a comparison function, but it compares two values at once. This makes long and rigid emissions. LabVIEW, on the other hand, has a function which words one to get the maximum items in a table in one step. I need to use Labview to 'send' the thermocouples of 50 or more to the Labview model. In addition to the variables that must be communicated between Veristand and Labview, I also need to present Labview with the threshold and setting parameters. Forums and user manuaIs understand that you must use the connector pane in Labview Veristand System Explorer mapping to expose the inports and isolated villages. The problem is that the part of Labview connector is limited to 27 I/O. How to overcome this limitation?

BTW. I'm relatively new to Labview and Versitand.

    Thank you.

    Richard

You can work around this limitation by putting your orders and clusters indicators. Then set the cluster to be required or recommended to indicate whether contained controls are entered or parameters, just normal.

  • count pixcel labview vision 2013

    Hi gays

I need your help I want to count number of pixel with model mink labview 2013

    Thank you

Try the VI IMAQ number of 2 objects in motion and Vision > visionique > count and measure objects palette.

If that is not exactly what you want, you can always choose to pass inspection VBAI to LabVIEW (Tools > Inspection migrate for LabVIEW of VBAI) and look at the generated code. It will produce exactly the same results as in VBAI. The only thing is that the generated code is complex.

    I hope this helps.

  • Change of LabVIEW VeriStand system definition

    Hi all

I have a project where I need to be able to change the drawn in LabVIEW VeriStand system definition.  The project will use a LabVIEW user interface and I would like to be able to programmatically change of LabVIEW VeriStand system maps (unloading and loading mapping .txt files via LabVIEW System).

It seems that the SystemDefinitionAPI contains the methods I need, but I can't figure out how to get a reference for VeriStand.SystemDefinitionAPI

If there is an easier or simpler way to do this, please let me know.  Thanks for your help,

    Phil

A bit more info that may be useful...

The examples referenced by Jarrod contain a constructor .NET to create a file system definition by giving a name, description, creator, version, etc...  If you double-click on the node in the constructor it will bring up a dialog box that shows all the manufacturers of the SystemDefintion object.  You should see another manufacturer that only requires a string entry "nivssdfFile".  Use this constructor and provide a path to your nivssdf file to open your SysDef existing (instead of creating a new).

Remember, you should always call the SaveSystemDefinitionFile method when you finish your changes to commit everything on the disc (such as demonstrated in the example).

  • Windows 8 and Labview FPGA 2013

I installed Labview 2013 including the suite of FPGA design on a host Windows 8 (x 64). I was surprised to see Windows 8 on supported OS list that I did not know until this day no further action taken design Xilinx support Windows 8.

But as a question of fact, that he did not long until I hit:

ERROR: Failure of Simulator: 861 - link design

following this tutorial by clicking the syntax check (using one of the files provided with the tutorial VHDL). The error is clearly linked to a lack of compatibility of Windows 8 from XIlinx running under Tools. Is there a known workaround solution? Thank you.

Unfortunately, you cannot compile the code on a Windows 8 FPGA Xilinx still not having this compatibility. The KnolwedgeBase article describes it. There is also a link in this article to another article that describes how to compile your code on a remote computer. This is the preferred method to compile when you have a Windows 8.

    Hey Stephen,

LVModel support is on the roadmap for the next release, it was one of the features that we prioritized to get as soon as POSSIBLE and it should be available soon.

  • departure fom LabVIEW VeriStand

    Hey guys,.

I installed VeriStand a few days ago and now I would like to connect LabVIEW and VeriStand.

I already explored how to run a profile of stimulus in an open VeriStand workspace to a LabVIEW VI.

Now I would like to open & run the workspace (like the 'performance' - button in the window of road VeriStand project is).

Does anyone know how to do?

I joined my current state, but I guess that I do not use the right screws.

    Frank

There are a set of screws, you can use to do this. They are not on the palette, but you can find them in the NI VeriStand folder under vi.lib to \vi.lib\NI VeriStand\Execution\Project.

There are screws to open a project, run it, open the workspace, etc.

The screws you use only control the system definition, not the VeriStand project and workspace.

  • API in LabVIEW VeriStand using for graphics

    Hello

I was wondering if anyone has experience reproducing graphics that accompany the VeriStand workspace in LabVIEW via the API. For example, should I use the block to get the value of channel to power a LabVIEW graph or is there another suggested method? Thank you.

You can start by this example:

    \examples\Execution API\UDP Streaming\UDP Example.vi streaming

It shows you how to request data in continuous high-speed gateway VeriStand and treat it. It does not show another specific feature of the graph VeriStand workspace, as the locking button, but it's a start.

  • Deisgn model WSF Labview

    Hello saran1988,

The beginning of LabVIEW window, you can click on create the project.

You will find the model of design template you're talking about. Here is a quick description.

And if you click on details, you will find the use case.

I think that all the information you need are in it.

    Kind regards.

  • Strange behavior of the run LabVIEW VI 2013 LabVIEW 7.1

I'm trying to extract some data hardcoded from old code LabVIEW 7.1 and decided to write a small program in 2013 of LabVIEW. The program opens a reference to a VI 7.1, search enums and call it with reference to all combinations of enums.

Actually quite simple, but I've noticed that something is without work, as expected. The old screws have this enum called mode (0 = Manual, 1 = Auto), who is not connected to any connector and has a value default 1 = Auto.

In LabVIEW 7.1, everything works as expected, but when I load this 2013 LabVIEW VI and execute it, without saving the file, it executes the case of 'Manual' rather than 'Auto '. I used a probe to check the value of mode in LabVIEW 2013 and the value is 1 = Auto, but he spends with the value 0 = manual box.

This is just a simplified version of the screw, but the behavior is absolutely the same. The VI (LabVIEW 7.1) is attached. Try to load in 2013 of LabVIEW and run it. I don't have 2014 on my PC.

Screenshot of running in 7.1 and 2013

Any ideas? This happens because of the strange settings on my installation of LabVIEW 2013? Can you reproduce this?

If you have a process already for execution programmatically these VI, what happens if you add to that and make something like a Vale put on the controls programmatically prior to execution of the VI.

  • New to LabVIEW, just a few questions with export.

Hello people, I am new to labVIEW program, we have access to the school but we got few learn it on our time, but we had a few questions before you start a project with her.

We can use it to export a message text and voice on a phone? There are we using or developing another application? (like, IE. Whats App? or "textME")
Can we integrate code c ++ with the script of labVIEW? (I have not yet read the help section yet and I currently do not have access to my computer at school to play with him)
Any useful tools for the processing of the signal? I know that biomedical exist, but we were told that because of the changes around my program ciricling its an after the fact at the moment. Apparently, we have the software but not the equipment. (If necessary?)

Do not forget that many people make a career of LabVIEW Development.  They spend 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, for 20 years to develop, and they still don't know everything.  But don't get too discouraged because developers not great like these lair on these forums and are happy to help you.

LabVIEW is a complete, true programming language.  Read and write text files are easy enough to do.  The range of the file IO has a reading and writing spreadsheet file works in many simple cases.  LabVIEW comes with numerous examples, launch it by clicking Help > example Finder.  You want to use a tool third 3rd for send SMS and voice mails.  An easier method to send SMS messages is to send an email to the carrier.  LabVIEW has a few examples on the email and there are a few on the search for a few forums.  LabVIEW can call several other languages, and built DLL easily, here again there are examples in this topic, or search the Web.

  • NEITHER 9237 external excitement - VeriStand 2013 SP1

The voltage recommended for my pressure is + 10 VDC sensors. I prefer to use external excitation according to the NI 9237 manual, total power to the module is limited to 150 mW, which in my case is "four bridges complete 350 ohm at 3.3 V. (I'll use pressure transducers (4) 350 ohm full bridge). I use scanning for EtherCat engine and the NI 9237 in a chassis 9144 OR connected to a cRIO-9081. For troubleshooting, I have two transducers on a pressure calibrator and another RJ50 connection a NI 9949 escape. If I select "External excitement" and have my power supply of 10 V connected to the bass + EX, EX-connecteur, I get an invalid value for my pressure sensor. It is after the scaling of the calibration value. The gross value is also incorrect. If I let the value "External excitement" but shoot the EX +, EX-connecteur, the EX +, EX-tension (pins 6 & 7) will go to 4.735 V and I'll get a CORRECT pressure reading. If I select an internal 3.3V excitement, I'll get a statement of the correct pressure, but I am a little concerned about the resolution that recommended excitement is + 10 VDC for the pressure transducers. My question is: Why can't I use the external excitement? I have another application with a chassis PXI and EtherCAT and it works OK. I also tried to place a NI 9237 module in the chassis cRIO-9081 and get the same invalid value that I describe above.

You have the latest version of the scanning engine and EtherCAT custom device? On the community page for this custom device, the last listed specifically done bug fix reference to this module. There is also a specific forum for this custom device which may be a good idea to post on as well if you have not already posted here about this problem.

  • LabVIEW VI 2013 crashes on opening

I made a small change to this VI and now I get "Exception: exception Noncontinuable (0xC0000025) to EIP = 0x00000000 Version: 13.0f2 (32 bit)" whenever I open it directly or by project. I was poised to deploy and am really under the gun. I tried to move location so he was looking for his sub - vi, but it still does not work. Tried with a PC of colleagues as anything does not. Tried to save it as the previous version, but it hangs when I try to do. Compilation of mass I tried, but it hangs when I try it as well.

    Can anyone else open it?

I was able to open it, but missed me one of the kits of tools you use. I have attached a re-recorded version of the VI that I opened.

    Kind regards

  • When replacing Labview Labview 2014 2013, must I first uninstall Labview 2013?

I just received my latest version of Labview 2014 CD.

When you install this new version, must I first uninstall previous versions of Labview?

Normally you will not want to uninstall older versions of LV while upgrading an older project to your latest version of SW is good there are times when you want to leave the vesion where it is.
