• Change of LabVIEW VeriStand system definition

  Hi all

  I have a project where I need to be able to change the drawn in LabVIEW VeriStand system definition.  The project will use a LabVIEW user interface and I would like to be able to programmatically change of LabVIEW VeriStand system maps (unloading and loading mapping .txt files via LabVIEW System).

  It seems that the SystemDefinitionAPI contains the methods I need, but I can't figure out how to get a reference for VeriStand.SystemDefinitionAPI

  If there is an easier or simpler way to do this, please let me know.  Thanks for your help,

  A bit more info that may be useful...

  The examples referenced by Jarrod contain a constructor .NET to create a file system definition by giving a name, description, creator, version, etc...  If you double-click on the node in the constructor it will bring up a dialog box that shows all the manufacturers of the SystemDefintion object.  You should see another manufacturer that only requires a string entry "nivssdfFile".  Use this constructor and provide a path to your nivssdf file to open your SysDef existing (instead of creating a new).

  Remember, you should always call the SaveSystemDefinitionFile method when you finish your changes to commit everything on the disc (such as demonstrated in the example).

• Model of LabVIEW VeriStand 2013 IO question

  During a project, that I'm working on, we decided to update our version of NI LabVIEW 2013 and 2013 VeriStand. For this project, we manage a combination of models, the .lvmodel and the .dll (compiled model Simulink). These models are deployed to an RMC 8354 using VeriStand. Following this update we have questions on our models LabVIEW successfully deploy. I was able to reproduce the problem with a very stripped down or isolated, version which I enclose. In this model, there is a digital control, a Boolean control, and a cluster that contains a digital control. There is also an indicator of each corresponding data types. All numerical values are double precision. The model block diagram is empty except for the controls and indicators, no cables or other elements. Without you connect controls and indicators of the model will be fine. If I connect the 3 orders and 3 indicators from different types of data, I get an error, the log to deploy it is attached to the post.

  I am also attaching VeriStand project files, the VI of model and the integrated version of the model.

  I wonder, can anyone, or any who already has, reproduced this unit or a similar problem? Anyone has any ideas on what may have caused this error to occur or how to solve the problem?

  There are indeed. It is not a set of screws to use, but you can call directly the NationalInstruments.VeriStand.RealTimeSequenceDefinitionApi.dll assembly to access the functions and reminders for running a profile of stimulus.

  First of all, I would like to start by looking at the following example VI to help to start:

  It may be a little more complicated that you need, but it should have all relevant parts.

  I was wondering if anyone has experience reproducing graphics that accompany the VeriStand workspace in LabVIEW via the API. For example, should I use the block to get the value of channel to power a LabVIEW graph or is there another suggested method? Thank you.

  It shows you how to request data in continuous high-speed gateway VeriStand and treat it. It does not show another specific feature of the graph VeriStand workspace, as the locking button, but it's a start.

  I am currently trying to get my simulation Veristand work correctly. So this means I have to install NOR Veristand Engine to RT target using MAX.

  I heard the message (see attachment) when installing.

  Question:

  Is it possible to install NI Veristand engine 2011 my RT controller that has motor in time real Labview 2012 without downgrading my 2012 LabVIEW for 2011?

  Hello!

  I have on my maschine 2012 LabVIEW and NI Veristand 2012.

  I am trying to open the 2012 2012 LabVIEW Veristand in project. Here's the sequence that I made:

  -Open Veristand separately (Yes, I know, it can be called with the help of command line)

  -Run the vi as illustrated in the diagram below:

  

  -as in the photo above, I received error 1172.

  I checked in my task manager--> there is no double open veristand

  I restart my PC, repeat the same procedure--> does not work. Received the same error message.

  Someone at - it experience even?

  VeriStand gateway creates a TCP/IP communication channel that
  facilitates communication with the VeriStand engine on the network.

  So if you are running a project on a desktop PC, gateway VeriStand initiates the
  VeriStand engine. If you run a project on an RT target, the VeriStand
  Bridge synchronizes with the system definition file that is running on the
  Target of RT.

• Open built in the workspace Addons in LabVIEW application using the API

  I do Veristand project who uses a lot o custom code for additional features (database Custom logging, several preconfigured stimulus profile running on action of the user, custom logging datafile, customized SCADA-like display of the State of the system (pipes, valves, pumps, etc.)). On any other user of hand interface for the control of the program must be simple, because operators use (the only options, no change in operation) and similar to the previous system solution (which was HMI, touch screen with multiple monitors).

  I plan to do LabVIEW custom application for GUI which communicates with the gateway Veristand and target using API functions.

  However, I want to implement some already existing in the workspace tools in LabVIEW code, such as monitor of the alarm. There are "Open workspace tool" API functions in the labVIEW Veristand API function list. This function requires the toolpath to workspace as an argument. How can I set path for those built in the workspace tools? I'm not managing to find with the simple search.

• Multiple problem templates Veristand 2014

  Hello.

  I have a strange behavior with my models running in Veristand. I am a very experienced with Labview Veristand user and this is the first time I've seen this problem.

  My HW is a pXI8110 with bit of Council set up to 1000 Hz.

  I have compiled several models of Labview in Veristand (14 to simulate the ECU of a vehicle plant). There is not so complex. These models read data from the CAN, run the code and connect the outputs to other models or CAN. I have also a custom device consumes 50% of 4 hearts.

  When I begin to test the system, I can verify that several code in some models is not running. I mean, I have 6 entries in a single model can and I see all the values on the 5 entries are working properly, but the code corresponding to the last entry does not work correctly. I checked that the maps are good and I also had the last value entered without any positive result.

  I also tried to change the order of execution of models, but it still does not work. I also increased the decimation of this model (instead of 10ms to 100ms), but it does not work.

  If I try the model in a project Veristand PC it works well, so I wonder if it can occur due to a leak of cycle time, because PXI is not able to run all the code model.

  You have any idea what to check?

  I did several tests and model works again increase the decimation.

  To avoid this again once I generated a "code execution time-out" in each model using counters and I check if this time is greater than the actual runtime set in Veristand. In this case, I generate a warning. Then I manually adjust orders and the model run time. Unexpected results can be found if this happens again.

• How to include the custom in VeriStand error message

  I defined a few error custom code in labVIEW when implementing a system customized for VS.

  The error code file is located in C:\Program NIUninstaller Instruments\LabVIEW 2010\user.lib\errors

  The error code is displayed as expected for LabVIEW, but displays the "undefined" error code when the device is deployed and running in VeriStand.

  You should be able to move your file for errors of LabVIEW Veristand (C:\Program NIUninstaller Instruments\VeriStand 2010\project\errors\English) errors folder. VeriStand should automatically check this folder for a corresponding error code when he meets one. Try this and let me know if it works. Thank you!

• Why my custom device break only when VeriStand trying to run it?

  I have a custom device, he worked for some time now, today, I made a few changes to add some features more and now VeriStand tells me the RT pilot is more executable.

  I have not change my build configuration or add any functionas that could bring in an external DLL, or something that could link incorrectly.

  Any ideas of how I could go on this shrinking.  The problem is that when running in VeriStand.  Built LLB has no problem, the source of the development has no problem, it's only when VeriStand tries to deploy there is a problem, so there must be something that is not bound correctly Yes?

  The system isn't RT, it's just deploy on Windows using a SMU.

  I am not sure the exact cause, but I ended up simply remove parts of the code piece by piece pilot to refine what was causing the problem. It turned to be a VI of debugging I used several times before in various projects, but which contains the string "call" LabVIEW primitive, but set apart from that, it's just a simple string manipulation.  So I don't know if it was just a few cases of random edge that occurred when running under code basic LabVIEW VeriStand clean, but for some reason, he broke the driver VI.

  So, solved the problem, but the cause, I can't really say.

  You can work around this limitation by putting your orders and clusters indicators. Then set the cluster to be required or recommended to indicate whether contained controls are entered or parameters, just normal.

  

• Profile of Stimulus call API Veristand leads do not have test

  I wan´t to call a stimulus program profile file. I discovered that there are no VI to do this in the API of the LabVIEW VeriStand (for the profile editor of stimulus inherited such a VI exists). But in the example finder is a VI that uses the API .NET VeriStand Edifier present (http://forums.ni.com/t5/NI-VeriStand/Start-Stimulus-Profile-from-LabVIEW/m-p/1789162). Two examples of work in general, but I have a problem that I m not able to fix:

  If I use a step of "update model parameters of a file" in the profile of stimulus to change the parameters of a model of the step will fail with the error: ' error:-307650. '. Details: object reference not set to an instance of an object. "This only happens if I use the API of VeriStand .NET managed to call the profile of stimulus. If I start the stimulus of the profile editor profile stimulus this doesn´t error occurs and the update of the model parameter works properly.

  If I delete the step of "update model parameters of a file" the whole stimulus profile goes very well.

  Anyone an idea how to solve this problem or how to call a stimulus with the API VeriStand profile file programmatically? Thanks for your suggestions in advance and have a nice day.

  I can reproduce what you see. You can very quickly get around this by making a call to the method of StimulusProfile CheckForErrors before his execution. This method is called by the Publisher of profile of Stimulus until it starts to run, and he must have some side effects which causes the update settings not work properly.

• NOR-XNET CAN custom interface code in VeriStand

  I work with NI Labview/VeriStand 2011 and I recently received a Council XNET/XS 8513 with my controller PXI - 8106 RT.

  I noticed a great NOR - XNET.dll (about 10 MB) download in the file system on the system deployment definition PXI. Therefore, there is a greater load on the processors during execution compared to the case when I used the jury CAN 84681. I think that the reason is the extension name to FlexRay and Lin (?) protocols.

  I'm trying to reduce the load, so I create a custom model of labview for the CAN communication only, XNET with message transmission. I tested it directly with LabView on PXI, without a VeriStand deployment; The result is a correct message, reading of the CAN bus.

  Then I try to do a project veristand, deactivation of the NOR-XNET interface on the system definition file and loading the labview simulation model (builds from /Tools/NI VeriStand/generate NI Veristand) model vi; but I can't read/write in real time any new value, despite a successful deployment.

  Is there some VeriStand dependencies that I forgot? How can I use the old source NI - XNET Device Custom code for this?

  OK, I solved the problem: inport VeriStand cannot be a digital control of LabView inside a while loop time.

  Now the application is running well.

• When ActionVIOnDownload is executed

  Hi all

  I have a VI that I used as a custom tool in the workspace.  Essentially, it calibrates some shifts.  The offsets which get zero would are out of a custom device.  There is a desire to have the reset occur automatically to each Homeless deploy.  So at first I thought the ActionVIOnDownload is perfect for this, but now I have my doubts.

  Given that the reduction to zero VI cannot run until the custom device is already operational (less than 300 MS ~), I do not think the action of OnDownload VI will work, because I think it runs before any custom device would be operational?

  If I'm wrong about this, what are my choices?   The VI I have written to run on the host computer, have triggered something to run on the host computer to loop 100 of a device custom engine?
