Modified BIOS

Hi, I tried to fix my problem of "battery not charging" and I couldn't open the battery report, because the could ' open windows photo viewer t. So, I asked the support of Lenovo and downloaded and run the bios updated. Now, some of my buttons do the function they are supposed to. (e.g. v + to increase the volume, open the "search for", etc..) Can I restore the original bios? It is the name of the download: InsydeFlash V5. 27. is it possible that I caught a virus? How is it possible, by being on the site of Lenovo's Support? I tested it and it said "not compatible". Thank you.

Hello

Problem with your BIOS, you must contact the Lenovo Support again.

Installation of incorrect BIOS may make your computer/laptop unusable.

See you soon.

    Help, please

My hard drive in my x61s died and I can't find my backup media. I took a hard drive from a laptop Gateway spare (run vistsa) and install it in my x61s. I updated windows instalation setting original factory, while he was in my lenovo. It starts up fine, but now my computer thinks it's a gateway! What I cnange the Bios so it starts as a Lenovo, or what? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! BTW, it is not an optical drive in the X61s.

    1 million thanks!

You can try to uninstall all the tools bridge, then run ThinkVantage System Update on it.

There may be some cosmetic modifications minor bridge made to the stock of the OS to make it 'Gateway', but should not be a problem.

  • Black screen C805D - 13G satellite after the switch of the bios to the CSM

Hi everyone, I really need help on this one.
I have a Satellite C805D - 13G and it was working fine until I decided to install windows 7 on it. I did a USB key with the OS and the modified bios to UEFI in the CSM to boot from it. Well, since that point the PC never started again. It turns on but it shows nothing (even in the external vga monitor). RAM and HARD drive are very good.
Y at - there anyone who can help? I have seen many similar cases on the internet, but I can't find any solution (already tried to disconnect the battery and hold the power button for 60 seconds)
Thanks to all who help me to sort it.
PS Sorry for my English, I'm from the Italy

You just need to put the Boot Mode to the CSM to install Win7.
If your USB boot it cannot be a problem with it. Try to create the USB using "WinUSB Maker"

Recently upgraded to Windows 10 (64 bit) to Windows 7.

The Bios is older than 5 years. is it possible to upgrade?

What I've read, HP uses modified BIOS, not those generally available on the motherboard manufacturers websites, even IF you can find your Board on the website of the Board manufacturer. The only "safe" to install BIOS would be those that HP show for download on their Web page to your computer, in your case this page is:

  • Satellite L550: BIOS settings after upgrade of security suite

I have two of my machines restarted two nights there after an upgrade to my security suite.

Now my office restarted without a hitch and the upgrade went through without incident.
However my L550 rebooted to a screen called "Phoenix SecureCore Tiano Setup" and I notice in the BIOS system Toshiba 1.70.

Now knowing what to do, I ran across the screens that lists the components that were in the machine and after that just after the installation itself.
Now the machine reboot ok and it seems to work more quickly - I have no beef with that, but I would have thought that Toshiba would have warned me that it was about to happen.

I'm a bit experienced user and vaguely knowing what can be done with the BIOS settings and not knowing how to do these were my insides run at a gallop.

What is the go with that?
I now have to Phoenix BIOS instead of Toshiba and it's this kind of thing is going to happen in the future as a warning would be really appreciated by people like me!

    Hello

Support L550 Phoenix BIOS but its modified by Toshiba.
It s nothing unusual each laptop manufacturer to set the BIOS for the purposes of the laptop.
To be honest I n t have any experience with the Phoenix SecureCore Tiano and cannot say anything about the modified BIOS options. However, each BIOS can be set to the default settings.
So in all cases, you are able to load the default options in the BIOS.

I'm not sure what button you press to get the default settings (I guess that F10) but this info is always mentioned at the bottom of the BIOS screen.

  • T420s: search for BIOS with Whitelist WAN card

    Hey people,

Depending on the subject, is there anyone with a bios works? I would use the Ericsson F3507 WAN adapter, but with original BIOS Lenovo, I get "Error 1802" during the pre boot screen.

I already tested a modified Bios of Camilo (http://www.mediafire.com/?r0l68k1x2ddnn#8cn6cge26drws) - partially successful. However the Bios mod had several side effects (sometimes the problems start, WAN card disappears after Eve etc..).

So, I'd be glad to hear your experiences if you have encountered and one similar challenge ;-)

  • G60 53OUS - ACHI at IDI - BIOS support not - is it possible?

    Hello world

I got Windows 7 on this computer and it crashed. I installed Ubuntu. I recently bought a new version of XP Home that I started to install. I used Killdisc, made a new partition (FAT 32) and when I got to the stage where I had to change the BIOS of DCIS at IDI - I can't. It is grayed out, or simply not available. If installing the XP crashes. The machine is currently running Ubuntu on the disk. Any thoughts on how I can get the modified BIOS, or other solutions? Thank you, Mark

    Hello:

What I would do if I were you, would be to delete all to leave them during the windows installation routine.

Create a large partition and use the NTFS quick format option to format.

See this guide for more information.

  • 15 - F023WM: Windows 10 has crashed will not work work or reset

I'm trying to fix my computer nephew he had an error and received a message asking to restart the computer after a reboot the computer would no longer work. And it does not start. All you get is the HP symbol on the screen the screen goes black and in the HP symbol comes back again it seems to be stuck in a loop.

The computer is an HP 15-F023WM refurbished with windows installed 10. I tried using the reset under F11 option. Received the message to insert the windows installation or retrieve media. Downloaded a copy of 10 of Microsoft windows. "Inserted the burned copy of windows 10 then I get the message" there was a problem of reset your PC. "I then tried to do a clean install, but the computer will not start up CD/DVD. Went to the modified bios boot order to boot from CD first still does not start. Restarted tapped the ESC key to enter typed boot menu the F9 key to enter the boot device options. The only options they come are OS boot manager (UEFI) and boot from the file of EFI. Tried to disable secure boot but still get the same results. Any help would be appreciated that he must use the laptop for school.

After setting start secure in the Bios and turn on the traditional way for the 4th time, he decided to work. I was able to boot from the cd and reinstalled windows 10.

  • Satellite L750 slows after plugging in the power supply

    Hello everyone

    It's almost a year since I have TOSHIBA L750-12 model q PSK2YE-05P00RPL.
Since the beginning, I noticed strange shares: when the battery becomes low at 10% and I plug the power supply everything starts to work slowly (for example I can see frames when using the webcam)
also, web sites load very slowly or not at all. It's doing my work on laptop almost impossible.
When this problem occurs, there are a few bugs in Event Viewer:

    Event 37, kernel-processor-Power
"The speed of the CPU 0 in group 0 is restricted by the system firmware. The processor is in this state of reduced performance for 71 seconds since the last report. »

I thought it was the power supply problem or motherboard to power so I sent the laptop to the service. Technical support only changed the BIOS to version 3.60 [there is not an another atm version] and he has not solved anything.
I searched the internet and I found that this failure can occur because of the Enhanced Intel SpeedStep Technology option, but unfortunately I can not disable it in the BIOS.

I read that there was problem simillar with for example Portege R835-P84 and new BIOS helped and solved this.

    Please help :(

    PS Sorry for my English.

I also imagine that new and modified BIOS can help with this, but if Toshiba doesn't offer it there is nothing you can do, especially with the SpeedStep technology options.

Maybe stupid question now, but when you connect the battery change the plan power high performance is a laptop s performance difference?

  • Startup Repair offline, startup guard

This has happened so many times, got my computer, bought separate parts (custom-made, over £1200) installed windows, everything has worked well until about a month. He projected blue and then my hard drive could not be found, kept saying (the disk name: No. NAME TYPE: NTFS) it is a 1 to WD hard drive. Finally it is fixed by raising constantly.

However, this same problem happened about 4 times now, the computer crashes, I pass to the far and same error on blue screen with the hard drive becomes "missing" or "non-detectable".

Now, it just happened again, but this time he decided to worse, Startup Repair maintains the start even when I hit 'start windows normally', 'safe mode', ' last know good config "etc.

Problem is the startup repair can't do anything, this is the error for the Startup Repair:

To fix I tried everything, checked cables on and more, all are inserted, tried to start in all options, kicked motherboard settings, nothing happened with no information, seized modified BIOS type of IDE RAID on AHCI, none work. I stumbed and I have no idea what goes on, anyway, its beginning to annoy me, a computer with all new and new specifications should not do this after a month. And especially should not be late with an i7 processor. Also, I noticed earlier, I keep getting loading screen instead of windows 7, windows vista, even after a fresh install, it still has windows vista startup.

  • X 51 - R2, graphic, black screen

No issues whatsoever with the integrated graphics card. All objects in the Device Manager are object own card EVEN THE AMD discrete graphics card. Have updated all the latest drivers from the Dell Support site.

Shut down Windows. (costs 10 Windows Installer with no software still installed)

Unplug the HDMI cable. Fix the 2 DVI cables. Modified BIOS auto to discreet.

I see the screen of the original POST, but then I get anything other than the black screens. Interestingly, the keyboard does not work even on black screens. No mouse pointer.

Is this a sign that the graphics card AMD has been fried?

    Any advice would be appreciated.

Does all these things and got the same result.

I managed to borrow an older AMD card, but similar, to test and everything works perfectly. I'm sure this means that the original card has failed. Got 3 years of daily use out of it, so I guess that's not too bad. Ordered a new card from nVidia on the X 51 R2 approved the list. Thanks for your help.

  • Article: Lenovo collects data to use on ThinkPad and ThinkCentre, ThinkStation PCs

    Hello

I have concerns about this article which shows on Slashdot.org.

"Suite of blunders of Lenovo on the Superfish malware and the modified BIOS, Michael Horowitz to ComputerWorld reports he bought a refurbished ThinkPad includes Lenovo spyware in the guise of"Customer Feedback"." "After some searching around, he found the following in a document of support:" Lenovo said here that all ThinkPad and ThinkCentre ThinkStation PCs, running Windows 7 and 8.1, can download "non-personal and non-identifiable information on the use of software applications Lenovo" to 112.2o7.net. ""

I always trust that Lenovo grab/use my personal information, but I don't like that one my information "not private" are shared Omniture for them to make money without asking for it, when I paid full retail for this machine price.

For now I'm 'Customer experience Lenovo' UN-installing my machine program and deleting:

    -C:\Program Files (x 86) \Lenovo\Customer program feedback.

    -C:\Program Files (x 86) \Lenovo\MetricCollectionSDK

    - and any trace of 'Lenovo.TVT.CustomerFeedback.Agent.exe '.

I hope that this does not affect the performance of other software from Lenovo.

I know a lot of people said "who cares, it's just to share some silly information", but in my case, my choice is not not to share it.

  • How can I over clock my Elite 7100 microtower

Hi Yes, I have a computer format Microtour HP Elite 7100, and I have updated the BIOS, but cannot always find a way to increase my processor. Is it possible that someone can help me?

    Thank you!

    Dallas

HP PCs and laptops have a BIOS that is designed to minimize errors inadvertently by the consumer.

They aren't supposed to be overclocked. It is possible if, after accepting the risk completely, you can find and install a strongly modified BIOS file. It's a choice of owners.

If you don't know what you're doing when overclocking, you can "let the smoke on" your memory or the motherboard.

This is why you don't see advanced features such as the bus and the memory timings primary and secondary available for the average user.

If you really want to overclock... build your own system similar to the one I use to respond to your message. It is the latest edition of years. You can build a much more powerful than this one.

It is highly unlikely that, even with a BIOS very modded, your HP Elite 7100 will be same clock this high. This isn't even a very fast PC.
