Music and playlists in iTunes

I just added a CD in iTunes "Add folder to library" which went well. The tracks are now show under "Recently added" but I have problems adding these tracks in my playlists. The pearls of wisdom? Thank you

Why, what happens when you try?

Remember, you can only add songs to lists regular playback, but not to a smart playlist or Playlist folder.

I burn a lot of music on a DVD before, but had to build a playlist on the other computer.  Is there a way to create and burn a playlist that will point to the music on the disc?

    Hi Ed,

You can try to burn the DVD in Windows Media Player, and then try to read the music files on the other machine & check if it works very well.

If you use Windows Media Player 11, you can follow this link.

  • Media Player reproduces all the music and playlists when I open it.

    Original title: Media Player over-population

Since last summer, I bought a new computer, the W7 Media Player reproduces all my music and playlists, when I open it.  He can make it up to 5 times.  I watched or a means of control of files it is seeking.  I tried to "withdrawal" title and duplicate files.  They come back with a vengeance every time. How can I stop this?

    Hi Dwight,.

Thanks for posting this question in the Microsoft Community.

I imagine the inconvenience that you are experiencing. I'll certainly try and help you in the matter of fixing.

    1. you have any security program installed in the computer?

    2. are you aware of any changes made to the computer before the show?

You can run the Troubleshooter to library and check. You can also run the Windows Media player settings Troubleshooter and check if it helps.

I suggest to fix the Windows Media database as it might have become corrupted.

Method 1: To do this, follow these steps:

    a. exit Windows Media Player.

    b. for Windows 7: click Start, run, %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Media Player and then click on OK.

    c. Select all files in the folder and then click on Delete on the file menu.

Note: You don't have to remove the folders that are in this folder.

    d. restart Windows Media Player.

Note: Windows Media Player automatically rebuilds the database.

Method 2: If this does not resolve the problem, disable the Windows Media Player database cache files. To do this, follow these steps:

    a. exit Windows Media Player.

    b. If you run Windows 7, click Start, run, % LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft, and then click OK.

    c. Select the folder Media Playerand then click delete on the file menu.

    d. restart Windows Media Player.

Note: Windows Media Player automatically rebuilds the database.

Hope this helps and let us know if you need more assistance. We will be happy to help you.

  • 9.3.2 iOS doesn't let me play my music and playlists. I simply press the icon of the song or playlist and it blocks the entire application

I went into my music and tried to watch my playlists but right as I clicked it the whole app just crashes, even with just clicking on my songs. And they never load completely. My phone had a lot of problems and it is fairly new but Apple just says it's perfectly fine.

    Hi Grayhmm,

I understand you encounter some problems of access to your content to Apple's music using the music app on your iPhone. I know it's important to have reliable access to your members of Apple's music! I want to make a few suggestions that can help you.

Given that you have noticed the music app if crush, I recommend you restart your iPhone first. Once you have restarted the unit, open the music application and see if you still notice any problems.

If the problem persists after restarting the iPhone, try to connect to your Apple ID in settings > iTunes and App Store. This will you sign out of your account Apple music and will remove all content you have saved on your device for offline listening. To do this, go to settings > iTunes and App Store and tap your Apple ID at the top of this page. Choose the option to disconnect, then connect you to the back using your Apple ID and password. Once you have signed in, open the music application and see if you continue to note any problems.

    Take care!

  • Music and playlists suddenly disappeared?

Hello, I opened my iTunes this morning and I find that I only about 100 songs of my 80 GB of music. The songs that do not appear in my library seem to be in the clouds where there is a symbol of download of cloud beside them. If I click on "Get Info" for the song, no location is displayed. I opened the iTunes preferences and check the location of my music and that's okay... All my music is in this place, the files are still on my computer but not in iTunes. In addition, all my playlists are gone too. Help!

Preferences didn't tell iTunes where to look for the media, it doesn't mean that iTunes where to store the data added from there on.

Launch iTunes while holding down the option/alt key and select the iTunes Library.itl file in the iTunes folder (assuming that you are using the default settings).  iTunes does not normally lose to this place, unless you use a library on another drive, but since you have not mentioned that at the beginning I must assume that you are using the default configuration.

  • Is it possible to synchronize music and photos from iTunes from multiple computers?

We have two MacBook Pro - one for me and one for my children.

Currently, I manage all the music and pictures via my Mac (synchronization of iOS devices), so there is a place for all the music and photos.

However, children now want to be able to manage their own music and photos.

Is it possible to synchronize music or photos from multiple computers? for example:

-Sync Mac and pictures of the other music

    -Synchronize Mac music

    Thank you

The key thing here is not the machines it's libraries. Devices can synchronize an iTunes library at a time. You have to arrange if both computers have the same library (problems with maintaining them synchronized or using at the same time), or seek a centralized service such as game or music from Apple (with her own set of questions).  The key is that the media distributors wish to exercise tight control over how music and movies can be shared (they don't care about your photos).  You can do things with the homepage of sharing with family.

Family shares - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT201060 - "family sharing makes it easy for up to 6 people in your family share of each and other iTunes, iBooks, and App Store purchases without sharing accounts.» Families with the same credit card purchases and approve kids' expenses directly from the device of a parent. And share photos, a family calendar and more to help keep everyone connected. »

«Sharing content with sharing - http://support.apple.com/HT201085 - bought family"with the participation of the family, family members go immediately to each and any other music, movies, TV shows, books and applications and can download to their devices at any time they souhaitez.*" ' * not all content and content types are available in all countries.» All members of the family must use the same iTunes Store country or region. Music, movies, TV shows and books can be downloaded on up to 10 devices per account, of which five may be computers. Apps can be downloaded from the other facilities, family member owns or controls.

If you do not see your family sharing content - http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5449 also: http://apple.stackexchange.com/a/146077 - exit iTunes Store and App Store apps and start over.

I signed up for Apple music and since then I can't synchronize playlists from my computer to my phone because it says I have iTunes game turned on, but I do not subscribe to iTunes recently Match (ish). How to make this stop?

    Hello

You cannot synchronize in usb or wifi if you subscribe to the Apple's music. The basic principle of the AM is that your iTunes library is scanned to determine what can be matched or must be downloaded. Once completed, all the music you will be available to listen to or download on your iOS device.

  • Any of my music or playlists copied from backup disc appears when I open iTunes.

I followed the instructions of a certain number of responses from discussion to this help page. I followed the steps following (according to the help instructions) without success:

    1. On destination macbook pro, I did drag the iTunes folder from Home/music on your desktop
    2. During the backup of the source (external drive, Time Machine backup folder), I copied the iTunes folder and...
    3. .. .pasted in the Home/Music folder on destination macbook pro
    4. Once the files have been copied, I opened iTunes, but no music was there, apart from purchased iTunes music. No playlists.
    5. I have read the thread replies
    6. ITunes started while hold down alt/option to choose the library; Music/iTunes open on destination mac; selected iTunes Library.itl and click on it to open it. Still no music or playlists of this folder.

I see all the music files in the new iTunes folder that I copied from a backup. A reflection as to why they are not displayed?

  • Missing iTunes library and playlists... Please help

Hello, this morning to my horror, I started iTunes and all my 20,000 songs and playlists, I spent years developing are absent.  Would it be a problem with my hard drive or a disk that allows iTunes search startup files?  I checked the path to the file and it seems that the music is always in their folders however re import all would not get the playlists back and on top of that the last backup I have was from 2014.    Can anyone help

It is possible that your iTunes library file has become corrupted, so iTunes has started up with a new iTunes library.  Or you may have accidentally set iTunes to open a new iTunes library.  If you use the default configuration, the iTunes library file is located in your iTunes folder and called iTunes Library.itl, to this place

[startup drive] /Users/ [your name of user account] / music/iTunes/iTunes Library.itl

NOTE: The iTunes library file is a database that defines your iTunes library.  It contains no files media real iTunes, which are organized and stored separately.

Go to this location using a Finder window; What do you see?  If you see a file called iTunes Library.itl here, quit iTunes (if you run) and use this method to open iTunes using this library file.

Open a different iTunes library file or create a new - Apple Support

If it does not open or if you still get a library empty in iTunes, you use Time Machine to back up your boot drive?  If you do, you can restore your library iTunes from a State of backup file (date/time) when it does not have this problem.  In your case, it would be immediately before the last time you used iTunes with a working library.  Time Machine does incremental backups every hour, so this should be very close to when the problem occurred, if your iTunes library should be updated more often.

If you do not have a backup (why not?) of your user data, look in the folder iTunes for a folder called Previous iTunes Libraries.  iTunes, these backups when there is a major update to iTunes, in the case where something bad happens or the user must go back to a previous version of iTunes for some reason any.  If the last backup of 'previous' iTunes library is not too old, you can use this library file to open iTunes, using this procedure

  • Why my side song erased and playlists were emptied on iTunes?

I'm looking for a possible explanation as to why this particular thing happened if it does not happen in the future. I tried to cover all the details that I thought was appropriate where a person can say exactly what happened.

First of all, I have a modest library of 3500 songs on my iTunes I keep pretty organized with playlists and rating stars, and I'm trying to store all my data locally (ie. not on the cloud). I synchronize my entire library to my iPhone, so basically I'm trying to keep my iTunes and iPhone music library identical library and have all my music physically downloaded to my phone (music so only available offline). I don't use iCloud music library and hold.

I use Apple music on my phone, however, to discover new music. I had it on automatic renewal for a couple of months but let my membership lapse one maybe a more than a week ago - ergo, I didn't not Apple music for several days.

I decided to take out a few days ago and everything was good. I had synced my phone since my subscription expired because I had not added to any music, until yesterday when I bought some singles on iTunes I want to synchronize my phone. However, they would not sync with my phone after 2 or 3 attempts, then I looked around my phone settings and noticed that iCloud music library was running. I'm sure that when I re-subscribed to Apple's music, it turns out iCloud music library somehow.

Then I disabled iCloud music library, and then I tried to sync again. Only this time, a majority of my music bought were not sync to my phone. Any other synchronized through music. The only way to access my music bought on my phone was to "show all music" and I guess that flows to my phone. Some of them would stream and I had the opportunity to 'download to the phone' but most of them wouldn't even either, they would simply appear in my library of phone but unable to play. Still the same after sync 2 times more.

I deleted all the music on my phone through my phone settings and then synchronized with the sync option is not all music on iTunes and for some reason that still synchronize a purchased song. I deleted manually, this song changed to 'synchronize all music' on iTunes re - transfer my entire library to my phone, but it still refuses to transfer nearly all of my purchased music. And on top of that, I noticed all but 40 of 3500 ~ songs had their side to star cleared on iTunes, the end of the synchronization.

One last shot to try to get my music on my phone, I deleted all the music again once, backed up my phone, it completely, restore the backup and finally sync all reset.

Finally, I clicked on one of my playlists and noticed it was empty. I checked the rest, and all my manual playlists were empty. Only filled have been my smart playlists, relying on the date added and play counts.

Basically, the entire structure of my entire library is ruined. I have no idea why or how it happened but I am sure iCloud music library was the beginning of it. I tried to restore temporary files without success, nor that any itunes library previous saved files help. I have a full September 2015 iTunes backup that has all until the preserved month, but I tore a lot of albums for Christmas and I don't want to lose the date added / play metadata count. I've temporarily restored the library September 2015 and screenshotted as much as I could, so I just have to manually recreate playlists and enter again in the ratings.

Take a look at this thread for some thoughts: lose the song playing in iTunes 11

It would be possible to edit the script I mentioned it to recover a portion of your lost data.

  • iTunes and Playlist

Why does iTunes, sometimes reproduce some of my playlists. Example: Forecast 25. and iTunes will create the same list of reading and call 25 Pick 1.Happens every once in awhile to several playlists. I remove them and weeks later... It happens again. Not always the same playlists. It will also create playlists... IE music of the 1990s and it will contain songs not in the 1990s. Aggravating circumstances... Thank you

Could be related to a device synchronization, if you have a device like an iPod or iPhone that is configured for automatic synchronization (not loading manual or access iCloud).  For some reason, think iTunes playlist (on the unit) is different or has been updated and sync to the iTunes library on the computer.  I remember using the On-The-Go playlist feature on my old iPod, and my library iTunes would be left with a bunch of 1 On-The-Go, On-The-Go 2, 3 On-The-Go... playlists over time, until what I deleted them.
