    Hello

If you use Norton, AVG, Avira, Microsoft Security Essentials, McAfee, etc. the default action is for Windows Defender must be disabled, that these AntiVirus programs have their own Antispyware Applications.

    There is nothing to worry.

Using both programs at the same time can cause system conflicts, etc.

If you are using one of the above AntiVirus programs, this Information from David O - Support Engineer shows you how to manually enable Windows Defender (disregard information from uninstalling; not possible in Vista):

"Go to start, Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Services. Look for Windows Defender.

Right click and select Properties , ensure that Startup Type is automatic.

Once modified, click apply and OK.

Quit and restart your computer. Check the back take the same path to confirm that Windows Defender has started"

  • HP Officejet 4620: Printer is in"error" and will not print, even though the computer says that it is "connected".

My printer recently started telling me it was in a State of 'error' and could not print my documents.  Sometimes I could turn off the printer market and all that was trying to print would then print, if documents or Quicken checks.  Now I can't print from the computer at all, or it will print checks from Quicken even if I turn the printer power off and power on.  The HP Web site indicates that it is connected.  It is the second computer from HP Officejet 4620 of the original that I bought.  The first has a problem that has been covered by the warranty, and this one doesn't seem to be much better.

  • Unable to connect to the internet despite the computer saying that it is connected.

I bought a dell inspiron 15r about 6 months ago.  Everything was fine until a couple of months when I could no longer connect to the internet. even though it shows I am connected to a network in laptop settings.  I try troubleshooting, but it is that there is a problem with wireless and ethernet cards.  I could not update one of my windows programs because he said that it is not connected and therefore impossible to retrieve updates.  How can I fix?

    Corey

I tried yo reinstallng drivers?  You can download them on another computer, put them on a USB stick and install it from there.

  • notifying wireless randomly says that I'm connected to the unsecured network

My home network, named dlink, is WPA2 protected, but every now and then the notifier wireless appears and says that I am now connected to dlink as an unsecured connection.  Why would he do that?  Am I blipping somehow between a connection secure and non secure?  I connect to my own router with an unsecured instance twice?  Can anyone else to connect to my router without my WPA2 password?  This means that my data may be temporarily unprotected?  and how can I make it stop?  I experience no detectable interruption in my service, with the exception of the boredom of the pop-up window and the question of what it means.  There is no other wireless networks, secure or otherwise, in the range named dlink.

    Hello

    1. don't you make changes to your router settings afer, who began to question?

You can test it by introducing another device wireless (WIFI active mobile phone for example) and check if it uses your unsecured connection to connect. If you are unable to connect to the network using another wireless device you are sure that it cannot be used by others unless you share the password with them.

To be on the safer side, I recommend contact you the router / ISP (Internet Service Provider) and check if it is necessary to change the configuration in the router.

  • HP Envy 15-3040nr mobile: says that I'm connected to the Internet... but the browsers do not work.

We have wired and wireless (dual band) Internet at home.  My other laptops work well (pc and Mac)... but my HP is not.  I don't know if I have deleted a necessary program by accident... or changed a setting (probably)... but for several days, I can't have the Internet at work.  Tried Chrome, IE and Firefox... so I don't think that browsers are the issue.   Looking for an answer. Hi Dmargolis,

I understand that your WiFi does not work on your HP HP ENVY 15-3040nr laptop. If you have made a few updates to Windows, this could cause this problem. Do you know when this started?

Here's a document on how you can restore it to the previous time when it worked correctly.

I'd be happy to help you further, if necessary. Let me know what is your model number and the current operating system? Here is a link that will help you learn.

  • OfficeJet 4630: Says printer connected to the network, but computer says that it is not connected or idle

I can't print to our hp officejet printer range 4630.  The printer says that it is connected to our home wireless network.  However, he said that it is inactive or not connected to the network on my mac.  The only way it will print sometimes is if I switch to a wireless network that is named the same as the printer.  AirPrint does not work.  We have a Linksys router.  Not sure if this is the problem or not.  I ran all kinds of diagnostic impressions on the printer and all say that it is connected.  I also tried to put the ip address into my web browser and it does not find the printer when it is connected to our home network.  Help, please!

Thanks for trying my earlier recommendations. In my view, the problem you are experiencing may be with your wireless router. Normally, I would have you make sure that it is configured correctly, but you cannot access the built-in Web server.

I want to try to set a static IP address, so we can try to get in the EWS. Please continue here: printer does not maintain the wireless connection

A little luck? If you were able to set a static IP address, please try and access the built-in Web server. Follow the steps below:

    1. open EWS (use my earlier recommendations) printers

    2. go to the Network tab

    3. network protocols

    4. Select enable IPv4 ONLY

Now with IPv4 enabled, you should be able to print wireless.

If this isn't the case, you will need your router company to make sure that the multicast is enabled, Hello Protocol is enabled, mac filtering is disabled and ask them to check if there are updates the firmware for the router and the router's firewall check to make sure that it does not obstruct the communication

The following ports are also used by your HP device and may need to be opened on your firewall configuration

  • Windows Vista + Netgear - Netgear says that I'm connected network list said I'm limited, the computer shows that I am not at all. Computer is right.

I have fixed everything at the time of my desktop computer starts up to a screen black with no explorer.exe running (the explorer.exe running only showed a folder at a time, until I restarted it.) and now I have a connection problem.

My netgear router has a connection with my computer, it shows green in the taskbar. However, my actual connection to the internet is not as lucky as the connection with the router.

I see the networks that I am able to connect to, but as soon as I did, I said that I am not currently connected to any network. If I go to "Connect to a network" I see clearly that I'm "connected with limited access" to Snet-G, which is one of the networks available to connect.

In my options of netgear, I am also connected to Snet-G, and it shows that it is actually connected.

My problem is the fact that I can "ipconfig" and I find none of my information, and when I try to ipconfig/all, it gives me an error something while not connected, so it says that I'm connected and does not, at the same time. My local internet does not work (can not navigate to 192.168.1.1 and others), and of course for this reason, my global internet does not work.

I need a fix for this, because I just put a ton of subscriptions for this month, which are already paid, and if I can't use this month is a good slice of $50 trash just because I fixed something.

Thanks, that's a well advanced topic.

    I tried the following:
System Restore (6 days back, the problem started 2 days ago)
    Restarting the computer
    Unplug modem (30 seconds)
    Restarting the router/Reset
Connection to the Snet-N instead of the Snet-G

Things to take note, if you do not already consider: I can't connect to my router config (192.168.1.1), my computer says I am connected locally, but not in the world.
I have some information about the modem if necessary.
-I have restored my computer 6 days ago, but only changed my problem with explorer.exe back. Internet broke again-. -.
