Hello Neale,

Two things for you to try: http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Windows_USB_diagnostics and if that does not work, try this one: http://support.microsoft.com/mats/hardware_device_problems/ .

Let me know if one of them might be your problem.

  • USB ports do not work after waking up Satellite A200 from sleep mode

After that I spend my Satellite A200-244 "sleep" or "hibernate" USB ports do not work!

    Hi mate,

    already tried this:

Open start and type Device Manager and then press ENTER, to start Device Manager. Click on the sign + next to "Controllers of Bus USB" and then in the list, you should see some devices called 'USB hub root'. For each one, click right, hit properties, go to the power management tab and uncheck the box "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power." Then restart.

Maybe it works. Another solution would probably be this Microsoft KB document:

    Thank you

Ben is right. After the installation of the operating system as a first step, you need to install driver chipset.
Please see the download page for Toshiba under http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com
There you can find all the drivers for your model of laptop including driver chipset.

  • Satellite Pro 6100: USB port does not work after the return of the mode "Eve"

I have a strange error on my USB ports on Satttelite Pro 6100 with XP SP2.

Two USB 1.1 ports work fine after cranking up what the laptop goes into mode 'sleep' (automatically or manually).
The restart afret optical mouse connected to the USB port does not illuminate and the XP system displays the error message on the device not recognized on USB port.

Plug the mouse on or off doesn't change anything. Only restart helps.

    Any ideas?

It's very strange, but it will be interesting to see if the same problem persists with other USB devices. Can you test and post again on the results?

  • Satellite L855 - 14 p - USB ports do not work after the mode 'sleep'

    Heya guys,

I have a strange problem today. The 2 USB inputs on the right side of the laptop (idk who is 2.0 or 3.0) does not work with the reason I can not perceive. These 2 guys are on different days, but in the same way. A month ago, I plugged the mouse USB wireless to one of them, then entered mode 'sleep'. When I came back, I discovered the work of mouse aint.

Then I realized the port I plugged the key USB has no electiricity inside no more. I found it very strange and continuous without using the port of broken, until yesterday. Yesterday, I made the same mistake (a la mode "sleep" in a USB port plugged into the other port - work-) and I have re-opened, the 2nd port is broken in the same way, too. I've mastered Manager devices, regedit, but it has no use. This lead me to think his could be a hardware problem, but how can be possible? Is this a coincidence?

Now, I have to use my 3rd and last port on the right side of the laptop with a USB duplicator.
You have any ideas? Can it be a software problem?

Understand this correctly? The USB ports mentioned don t work even after restarting a new laptop?

In this case, it could be really a hardware problem
But before talking about hardware problems, I recommend to recover the laptop using Toshiba recovery.

Defining the notebook back to factory settings will help you identify the problem: If the USB ports wouldn't work, this s hardware problem.

  • USB ports do not work on satellite 40 X after reinstalling the operating system

    Hi all

I formatted my laptop X of Equium 40 recently and since then the USB ports are not recognition of everything that is plugged into the port.
Can anyone provide me with the drivers. I use Windows XP Professional.

    Thanks in advance
    SKP

    Hello

It seems that you have installed the CD Microsoft Windows operating system and not the Toshiba Recovery CD
In this case, the installation of Toshiba drivers available on the driver page is necessary.
Have you installed all the drivers in the correct order?

For most installation instructions are placed on the driver page, and you must always follow the order of installation recommended in this document.

Have you installed the chipset utility? This Intel application is one of the most important applications and must be installed at the beginning.

    Hello

    > This problem start after a storm in my area some time ago.

Because other devices don't work properly and because procedure didn t get it back help you solve this problem, I think that the problem is related to the hardware malfunction possibly that the motherboard was hit by lightning, which would explain the problems

I think you should ask the maintainer authorized Toshiba in your country to check the motherboard.

But in my opinion, that the warranty does not cover the issues of environmental impact maybe your household insurance could help you

  • X 51 - R2. Before USB ports do not work

I just got my new Alienware X 51 R2 recently. I begin to test on my new computer. Then I found at the front, two USB ports do not work! My USB device is functional because it works when I connect it to the rear USB ports. I don't know what problem is it? I tried to update and install the driver too much on Dell.com. It's a new pc and therefore disadvantage if the front USB ports do not work. Help, please

Just for someone else who has this problem. It's actually all because the cable that connects the USB card to the front of the motherbard is connected with a black cable. You will probably find that opening upwards, you will find that the thick black cable is not connected.

Once reconnected, you will have your USB market back again. You will also find that your AlienFX works. I just had this problem and after the challenging my brain trying different drivers, reinstalling the operating system, make drains of power without meaning, try all USB, I, I thought I would check the actual cable and voila. Hope it helps others in the future.

  • Re: USB Ports do not work on my Satellite L830-145

    Hello
I have Toshiba Satellite L830-145 with Windows 8 and all USB ports do not work. Have updated the Intel BIOS drivers and uninstalled and so on tried a lot and still no luck
Maybe here someone will have an idea

When I start the computer power light before windows starts and goes dead when windows starts loading
On USB3 I can recharge the phone, but it won t recognize anything in windows
    Any help much appreciated.

According to specification for laptop, your laptop comes with Win8 64bits.
Using the original version of Windows preinstalled?

All that you have done is just, but if nothing is done, maybe you should try to reinstall original recovery feature by image and test with the factory settings.

    Also:

    2. click on start > right click on computer > properties > Windows updates down the lower left corner > updates installed in the lower left corner in the next window

    > then click the one that you don't want > uninstall will appear at the top > uninstall it.
